First of all, cricket is not an Olympic sport (at least until now). So that means that there will be no government support. On top of that, for almost two decades, the ICC actively hampered the development of cricket outside the pig-3 nations. When Jagmohan Dalmiya was the ICC president, he had initiated a very successful globalization program, which resulted in the spread of cricket to every nook and corner of the world. But Dalmiya was kicked out in 2000, and the power was seized by the Pawar/Srinivasan gang. After that cricket died out in these smaller nations. The situation changed only in 2015, when Srinivasan was kicked out by the newly elected NDA government in India.
I am not fully aware of these power struggles and all i know about these is from the cricket threads as i am least bothered to know about these underlining issues from other sources and do a detailed research  Cheesy.
Suppose the ICC is supporting cricket and wants to popularize the game in countries that are not prominent, the problem is you will not find many interested in a new sport and it will take a long time even for anyone to take cricket as a career when they have other lucrative sporting events to choose.

With franchise cricket in full flow and paying well, this is the best time to promote the sport as the money is good and you can attract new players into the game.

India lost a few quick wickets. They are 283/5 now. And once again it is James Anderson and Ollie Robinson who have taken the wickets. The other two seamers are looking completely out of sorts. And now this is a very good opportunity for England.
If England could keep on picking wickets then they could restrict them by 350 runs and with the start they got, i thought they will not be coming out to bat in the second innings  Grin.

Two inexperienced batsmen are at the crease, and if they want they can restrict India to less than 350-400.  If they are able to do that, then they will be able to avoid the follow on, and most probably they will be able to save the match with some help from the rain gods.
You think Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are inexperienced batsman, i was not a big fan of Rishabh Pant and his wicket keeping skills but his performance in the Australian tour changed my perspective as his performance was crucial for them to win the series against Australia even with a relatively new team.
423  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $48k the next Bitcoin benchmark? on: August 12, 2021, 07:31:09 PM
The general cryptocurrency market has been exciting, with Bitcoin gaining an all-time high of $46k since may 2021 in April Bitcoin made an all-time high of above $65k before correcting down to below $30k in mid-April.
Will $48k Bitcoin price be achievable this week?
A day passed you asked this question and the market is having a minor correction, expect the market to have its due correction once in a while and you cannot set a target that the market would rally so and so without any correction. I am not surprised with the way the market is moving as you should expect the institutional investors who invested well before the rally started will book their profit.

Did the Lords pitched turned to be a batting wicket, India is marching forward and they just lost 2 wickets and was KL Rahul there in the full squad earlier because India was having different openers in the last few series i saw and KL Rahul is taking the opportunity and he cemented the place with a century in this match and he is playing solid and along with Kohli they might put a huge total on board and with the bowlers India have they should trouble the England batsman but it all depends upon how the pitch will behave.

Edit: Virat Kohli is finally gone Grin.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 12, 2021, 07:30:21 AM
If Pacquiao will lose in the Election, he will fight again in the ring. It's just about less than a year to go before the election so it's not that long to wait. Spence Jr at that time is now recovered.
So you think that he will be loosing the elections and then continue on fighting  Cheesy.

Pacquiao won't hang his gloves yet unless the new opponent will knock him out sending Pacquiao to retirement.

I see Pacquiao will still fight 2-3 times if he loses in the election. That was 1-2 years and his age will be around 43-44 years.
You really think that Manny Pacquiao is that crazy to spend his rest of his life in a wheel chair, you need to hang up the gloves one day and for that you do not need to get knocked out cold. Age is a major factor and his body will be banged up badly as he is fighting over 25 years from what i understand as he started at a really young age with amateur bouts so that he could eat.

Disappointed with the change of opponents at the last momentum but still Yordenis Ugas is a good test for Manny Pacquiao since he is returning after a long gap.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still have thoughts of picking Gold over Bitcoin, read this. on: August 11, 2021, 11:52:01 PM

Guess there's nothing left to be proven again for bitcoin and it's safe to say it has outperformed Gold in all angles. I would prefer my investment in an asset that could give me higher double digits gains than an asset that can barely gives strong double digits gains and yet been called the safe heaven when it also poses same risk of a lost in value during trying times.
Everyone invests in gold because it is a safe heaven with less volatility but you cannot expect them to rally like we see in cryptocurrency. If you like taking risk and investing in Bitcoin, it is your choice but majority like to have a more stable asset they can trust during crisis situation especially during a war or during economic meltdown and you cannot predict what would be the state of cryptocurrency during those crisis phase.

He was the only runner to successfully knocked all the water bottles, the others did not encounter any problems. So, I'll take it like an accident. I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Therefore, it is also part of the game. We all have different viewpoints. There are plenty of things to point out, but bringing up those bitter memories spoils the Olympics theme. This post should inspire a lot of respect and admiration for all the athletics with a history of excellent sportsmanship.
Pointing out unsportsmanlike behavior should be pointed out and it will not take away the glory of the Olympics. I have seen the images of the said event and it was a clear bite to have an upper advantage and those athletes should be banned for life from competing in further events. There are instances in the past where athletes got banned for life of unsportsmanlike behavior, so this is nothing new.

Oh please.. I watched 5 minutes or so from this series and it was a complete sham. Fancode just want a few "international" matches for their subscribers. So they dressed up a few Indians and Pakistanis in German and Norwegian jerseys. None of these players had any connection with Germany/Norway and not a single player had the citizenship of these countries and I couldn't find anyone among the spectators. This sort of joke doesn't exist with football or any of the other sports, because they don't allow foreigners to represent national teams.
Even i was wonder on seeing the scoreboard that European countries are able to play cricket and only a few will be really interested in playing the game as many look to play Football, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis to build a career in sports and cricket is not that popular and hence not a high paying sporting event and since you clarified that the teams are formed with the help of Asian players, that says a lot about their preparation  Grin.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you'll Sale bitcoin on today? on: August 11, 2021, 08:31:45 PM

You could sell if you want. But if you have sell your bitcoins, have you already planned where you would spend your fiat? I've met a lot of people who sold their assets, but dont know what to do with funds later. They have sold just because the price was high. But their keep holding so called stables (if we speak in connection with Bitcoin also) and their value drops every day due to inflation.
Anyone who is planning to reinvest the money at a later time can always do that, if i am planning to sell the coins i will be doing so according to the market situation expecting a market correction in the foreseen future and then make my decision after the correction on what to invest rather than rushing forward and jumping into other coin without planning. Not sure which fiat you are holding the asset to worry about huge inflation but USD and Euro are pretty safe in that regard.

Just now realized that Kieron Pollard hasn't played a test match till date. Perhaps he don't want to participate in test matches, but my opinion is that he could be more than handy even in the longer format.
The only format Kieron Pollard plays well is the T20 format and there is not much memorable performance in the T20 International format as all of his performance are in franchise T20 leagues, he is not even consistent in the ODI format and only recently he started to perform consistently and there is no way he will perform well in Test matches.

West Indies has been performing quite poorly in test format, ever since Shivnarine Chanderpaul was forced to retire. I believe that he was the last West Indian batsmen who could dig in and build a partnership under adverse conditions. After his retirement, I am yet to see a quality test batsmen in the West Indian squad.
Why was Shivnarine Chanderpaul forced to retire, i do not know these stories but i would like to know. I know they had a great team in the past but for decades they are a mediocre team in the longer format.

New Zealand announced the squad for the T-20 series against Bangladesh. I think the squad is their second-tier team. Their main players are not in this squad. Is the New Zealand team neglecting Bangladesh team like Australia? If they neglect, their fate will be the same as Australia's, because Bangladesh is always strong at home.
May be just like the Australian players who opted to sit out from the Bangladesh tour the players from New Zealand wanted to sit out as well. I know i was trashing the Australian selectors for not picking the best team because i did not expect a pathetic performance like this even with chasing low scores but you cannot blame them to opt out of the tour because sitting inside a bubble is taxing.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 09, 2021, 11:58:05 PM
It is not beneficial to the board, but definitely it is beneficial to the players. If a player takes part in all the three formats, and at the same time he participates in 2-3 franchise T20 leagues, then he will be hardly having any free time. For the Indian players, it may be OK. Because they don't take part in foreign franchise T20 leagues. But take the case of someone like Kieron Pollard or David Warner. It is not possible for these guys to play in all the three formats, because they will be busy with multiple T20 leagues.
Do you think the cricket boards will be thinking much about the players, there is a rift going on with the players in almost all of the cricket boards especially West Indies, Pakistan cricket board always had issues with the players and Bangladesh board is also not in good terms with some of the players and recently i heard about the Sri Lankan board having issues with the players and disputes regarding the contracts.

The players want more freedom and finance due to new franchise leagues around the globe and the board does not want them to play and they need to focus on the International schedule and that is where the fights starts and basically the structure need to evolve if they want cricket to be popular like football with club having the priority than international games Grin.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFT games also another way to gamble your money? on: August 09, 2021, 09:39:24 PM
It's not a gamble since we are trying to making it good as possible.

These games should be treated as investments. Making it gambling is a suicide. We should care for the money we used on these NFT games. Risk is always there so we need to find ways to minimize it. It's like buying a good coin and waiting for the right time to sell it. Here in NFT, we will try to make a regular income out of playing these.
How can you ever view playing games even though it is connected to a blockchain as an investment, i am yet to play any games and i am sure you need to connect your wallet just like you do in gambling sites and can start playing. I am not sure about the dividends you are going to earn playing the game but still you cannot view playing games with money as investment.

One of the best batting display by Australia in decades, they cannot stoop below this performance and i am not sure when the Australian selectors would know how to pick a team as there are several players playing in the domestic circuit that performs well and yet they left out everyone and now getting all out for 62 runs might be an awakening to be sensible while selecting the team when their best team is not available for selection.

For example, in the era of ICO, many participants in this forum received tens of thousands of dollars for performing simple actions or for wearing a signature. How could you lose this easy money? Sometimes it was an exit from an asset at the wrong time, sometimes on the contrary - you remained in the asset and it became very cheap. This happened to me several times, so I do not look back (take care of my psyche)  Wink but the fact remains - potentially I lost a huge amount of money.
When I wrote that message, I kept this script in my head, so maybe you did not understand me.
I failed to get into your head to understand the script  Cheesy. Everyone had those times when your coins rallies 1000% and you kept holding them longer thinking that it will rally further and then the market taking everything you think you made down the drain making it worthless. This is an experience everyone had during the ICO hype and i also went through the same feeling as yours and i am sure many went through that, but truth is i made my profits but failed to book huge profits in some of the hyped up projects in time, but if i started thinking as potential amount i might have gone through depression  Grin.
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taking Profits on Altcoins Strategy on: August 09, 2021, 05:15:46 PM
Let's see about the new hype altcoins emerging. We can trade them and take profits in the short time waiting for the pump price and then sell them at the high price as we have targeted.
However, we may not need to hold them for a longer time because it may be too risky.
Majority of the projects are too risky to hold for a long period of time because when the market starts to correct some of these projects might stop working if there is a major sell off and it all depends upon the core strength of the project and the innovation they are implementing in it according to the changing trends.

And there are also some altcoins that will have good news or events at a certain moment so we can just prepare to buy some of these coins and wait until the right moment after the events, so we can make higher profits at that time.
And there may be also another chance to take profits based on investing for middle and long term investment. I believe this is more to top coins only.
The major projects that are established in the market has its risk but not like new projects.
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin is good. It’s hard to persuade parents to invest in it. on: August 09, 2021, 03:06:40 PM
Maybe parents like your father are not very interested in what you have now because maybe he still holds his own old way of investing in stocks which he has never known in today's masses, let alone plunged into the world of bounty hunters, maybe he is still holding on to a different way.
OP is talking about investing in altcoin projects and not collecting bounties. Investment in stock is not much risk compared to investing in new projects as you can never trust whether the project will launch after investing your money and you need to have the trust of the developers to even think about investing and hence the risk is really high and no one will think about risking that much money and hence you cannot complain them either.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now all in BTC. All eggs in one basket! on: August 09, 2021, 09:22:47 AM
you must be a tough guy because it is almost impossible to stay away from altcoins , i have traded at least 100 altcoins some of it was scam some of them went to moon but in the end i believe best strategy is find the strongest project like sol , link , dot , egld and hold it can u imagine what happens if u find the next ethereum at the begginning ?
The main reason why you are chasing 100 other altcoin is because you think you can invest in the next Bitcoin and earn a fortune and end up loosing money Tongue. It is a problem for many, rather than investing in Bitcoin for the long run and have patience they look for alternatives. I have invested in a few considering how the developers could convince us with their white paper and if you find good projects then even i will not miss them.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum last forever? on: August 08, 2021, 10:09:21 PM
As long as we have a civilization, the internet and Cryptocurrency is accepted Ethereum will continue, it is a project that keeps evolving, and for an organization to continue, it should have a plan for continuity, and for a big organization like Ethereum, it should have a long term plan even if their main developers is not around anymore, I'm sure they are going to hire talented people in their fold.
That is a bold statement considering Ethereum is going through some major changes in their network regarding the consensus algorithm which is a major shift and a technically challenging move because there are hundreds and thousands of projects that are run on top of the Ethereum blockchain and one minor mistake could wipe away everything including the market valuation of all the alts that are using their blockchain.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump on: August 08, 2021, 09:21:07 PM
Although the price of ETH has continuously increased in the last week, today the price of ETH has started to decrease. But does ETH's pumping end here or is it preparing to pump more? We will have to wait one or two more days for this matter to be clarified.
It is not just Ethereum that pumped in the past few days but majority of the coins had huge gains and now we are seeing huge selling pressure across the market and not just Ethereum alone. Unless the major correction massacre the market like we saw in the past, you can always expect another rally.
