421  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] Your BTC [H] PayPal on: June 09, 2019, 03:19:35 PM
I'm afraid that you can expect a big premium for a paypal trade since paypal is reversible. This is especially true since you have not gained a good reputation here, yet. Also, it appears that there are scammers who are hacking into "reputable" bitcointalk accounts, and convincing newbies to send them paypal funds via family and friends options. For your safety, I recommend that you use a service like localbitcoins to execute this type of trade. I know that you do not want to pay big fees. However, you are setting yourself up to get ripped off for the whole amount, just to save yourself a few bucks in fees. Please note, I am personally not interested in trading my BTC for your paypal. My intent of this message in to just give you some advice, and save yourself from frustration.

I Hope A Someday Be A Legenergy Member Two!!

Well, you can start by learning the difference between two, too and to. I can understand someone confusing too and to, but using two in your above sentence is just inexcusable.  Cheesy (Using 2 would have been acceptable, I guess.)
Furthermore, I reviewed your short post history. If you want to become a legendary, you are going to have to provide a bit more content than insubstantial one liners... Of the 5 posts that you posted so far, I couldn't even find one that I'd consider giving even one mercy merit to.
423  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller vs cleaning up the forum on: June 09, 2019, 01:43:58 PM
QS used to be OK but he’s becoming increasingly frustrated & seems irritated about the way the forum is run.
I don’t know what his problem is but the personal attacks on individuals isn’t good practise.
Hopefully he comes to his senses & starts to contribute in a more positive way, everything about him oozes bitterness & negativity at the moment.

I believe that he wants to be the one responsible for bringing down another trusted member. Just like he went from hero to zero, I'm sure he'd relish someone else going from hero to zero.
Furthermore, in this particular case, I suspect QS finds suchmoon's efforts as a threat. If he is still running an account farm, suchmoon's efforts must be frustrating his efforts to rank up his accounts. I am sure suchmoon is reporting much more infractions besides plagiarism. Although posting low quality and off topic posts won't get an account immediately banned, it may lead to that eventually. Also, having posts deleted by the staff can definitely effect revenue, if any alt accounts are enrolled in signature campaigns.
424  Other / Meta / Re: A wave of bans: 400 yesterday, 300 the day before. What changed? on: June 08, 2019, 06:50:52 PM
So the bot which detect plagiarism in the recent days is actually implemented by admin?

I though someone actively reporting all these posts.
It is a user manually reporting posts. They are just using some tools to make it more efficient. There is no bot implemented by the staff.
425  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this worth a negative feedback? [Community View - icosonar] on: June 08, 2019, 02:38:12 PM
Since it appears the guy is only trying to get a job and he limits it to less than once a day, I was going to recommend giving him a break. However, when I look at his untrusted feedback, there is a recent complaint against him. Unfortunately, it does not appear the complainer has made a dedicated thread on the subject, as written in the complaint, and the complaint was made on 05/22/2019.
426  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: June 08, 2019, 02:07:41 AM

tk808 was detected by analysis as a new merit source.

I'm glad tk808 was made a merit source. The altcoin boards needed a little more love thrown their way. Many of us merit sources are leery to sift through that garbage heap, although I'm sure there are quite a few gems that we are missing.
427  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hhampuz embezzling signature campaign funds from BestMixer on: June 08, 2019, 12:04:36 AM
I did not say that I wanted others to tag him as a scammer. I said I believe him to be a scammer, and the reason he has not been tagged is due to tribalism.

I do think he should be tagged, but due to the trust system being broken, I don't think anyone tagging him will have any affect any anything. In lieu of tagging him, I will leave this thread open and any potential customers of his (and his current customers) can look at the evidence themselves, including the fact that many of those defending him are being paid his advertisers money by him.
I certainly hope any future potential clients of Hhampuz also take into consideration that the OP of this thread also was being paid by him and got the sack after 5 weeks. Or shall they believe that you are really free of any bias on this matter and are earmarked to be instantly canonized by the Pope, as soon as you are the 4th person to be assumed into Heaven?
428  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to Solve the Non-Mining Node issue and Increase Real Scalability on: June 07, 2019, 10:19:21 PM
Why on Earth should someone be required to run a full node just to transact?  Especially transact on the LN, which is a second layer solution. If the developers of LN went that route, an alternative second layer solution would be offered. After all, the original white paper already laid the ground work for SPV nodes. People should not be required to run a full node unless they want to. Furthermore, the problem is not keeping up, it is trying to catch up if you have to start from scratch. It already takes most people who run a home node several hours, if not days to complete the verification if the have to start from scratch. If I were a potential new user and wanted to try out the LN to buy a cup of coffee, I would probably lose my patience in several seconds. Not many are going to be willing to wait several hours or days to explore this payment option.
I suppose that a blocksize increase to 8 mb with a 3% increase per year is okay. However, good luck getting anywhere near a consensus on that proposal.
429  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hhampuz embezzling signature campaign funds from BestMixer on: June 07, 2019, 07:38:42 PM
How surprising, more assumptions. You do not know anything about the agreement between BestMixer an Hhampuz. Anything you say is based on nothing but your  hatred towards anyone on your shitlist.

I suspect that if HHampuz had just left the BTC untouched, in UTXO that Hhampuz has full control over, QS would have opened a similar thread raising suspicion on why Hhampuz was keeping funds in UTXO that he had full control over. Also, if Hhampuz moved the funds to any other address, QS would find some narrative to paint him in a bad light. And if Hhampuz came up with any plausible explanation, QS would construe that too, to fit his narrative.
430  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hhampuz embezzling signature campaign funds from BestMixer on: June 07, 2019, 06:57:48 PM
Unfortunately, we do not know the terms of the contract between Hhampuz and BestMixer to arrive at a conclusive determination. I don't believe that Hhampuz should reveal the contract just to satisfy anyone's suspicions. Also, if you look at the last transaction where he paid the signature campaign participants, it lacks a bigger output of ~ .077 BTC that the earlier transactions have. For all we know, the ~.50 BTC covers the pay HHampuz is entitled to under his contract.
Ah yes, Hhampuz was most likely entitled to all of the remaining funds and this is why he took the money and tried to cover his tracks. /s

If you look at all the transactions that he pays participants with, you will see he pays himself out of campaign funds every week this is done either in the same transaction or immediately after the transaction is sent. He was not owed additional money.

These agreements don't come with any severance clauses or bonuses for completing the campaigns? Too bad.
431  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tomatocage wakes up, posts a ref link... be careful on: June 07, 2019, 06:34:17 PM
What baffles me is why theymos decided to take a chance on you and make you a merit source, given your history. (TBH it baffled me a little that he gave me a shot, initially.) I certainly hope he allocated a small introductory amount to you. Even if you are truly reformed, giving you source merit is about the same as giving a gambling addict full access to a source of money.
That is complete hogwash. Theymos has no reason not to trust me, and plenty of reasons to trust me. Further I have a long history of giving merit to very good posts that don’t otherwise have merit.

I don't care how obedient a dog happens to be. If I leave a big fat steak unattended on the kitchen table in front of the dog, I should not be surprised if the steak comes up missing.  Cheesy

Just hit the ignore button. Don't waste your energy on cowards.

Sometimes what these new troll accounts have to spew forth is so absurd that I can't help but belly laugh though. Perhaps this newest troll should stick to posting NSFW confessions. Perhaps not here, since they will end up in the trash can. However, the internet is full of forums where he can find a suitable audience for his material.
434  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tomatocage wakes up, posts a ref link... be careful on: June 07, 2019, 03:58:57 PM
he’s potentially made a fuck load of money

Seeing how butthurt he is about being kicked out of a sig campaign I'd say he's more likely to be broke.

If he's really the owner of the Tomatocage account then bringing it back like this - to spam ref links - seems quite desperate.

Yes, just because someone made a fuck load of money doesn't necessarily mean that they are good at retaining a fuck load of money.

@LFC_Bitcoin - excellent detective work. You are officially the first person to discover I have traded forum accounts in the past. I was clearly wrong about you, as you very clearly always know exactly what you are talking about.

What baffles me is why theymos decided to take a chance on you and make you a merit source, given your history. (TBH it baffled me a little that he gave me a shot, initially.) Feel free to ask theymos what the rate of false positives is in my reports, lying asshat.

And what is that rate (just curious)?

To make things clear, I don't have any grudges against you and I don't even know you as we don't seem to have been engaged in a lot of converse here. I just want to know what the "tool" will report if someone posts a lengthy quote from a prominent figure (that doesn't require a reference for being well known to every literate person) and then someone else repeats it in a different context or even in a different thread. Will this get reported as plagiarism?

From what I can tell, the tool will only report when a human being interacts with it. So it all depends on what the tool user thinks. Then a mod has to review the report an make a determination as well. So, basically two human beings have to agree that the post is plagiarism before a ban occurs. I suspect that if someone really had a bot that totally automated the whole process, the staff would probably be overwhelmed with a huge back load.
437  Economy / Reputation / Re: Never argue with an idiot.... on: June 07, 2019, 02:08:55 PM
I have read all posts in this thread because I wanted to finally know what is going on exactly between all these members.

TBH I still don't know what is this all about. You even don't try anymore to solve these problems only throw more shit on each other.

You may get a better understanding by reading through this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=853522.0. Don't forget to also read through the thread that Tecshare references in his OP as well. There is probably much more to the story, though. DYOR
438  Other / Meta / Re: Create an option to get an e-mail notification someone logs in on: June 05, 2019, 10:59:33 PM
They can't hold your hand, account security falls on you.  No one to blame but yourself.

First of all, let's get something straight. When an account gets hacked, the main blame goes to the hacker. It's not like hackers are some wild predatory animals that just can't control their instincts. I'm not suggesting that Bitcointalk holds people's hands. I'm just suggesting an additional tool for users to implement.
439  Other / Meta / Re: Create an option to get an e-mail notification when a PM is sent on: June 05, 2019, 07:55:28 PM
It appears that some scammers on Telegram are trying to gain confidence from people by telling them they are a bitcointalk member. It appears one scammer may have gotten access to a reputed members account and sent PMs under the member's nose.
I don't understand how this happened? Did the user in question just give out their password?

Here is the thread in question that I am talking about. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5150479.0 I am leaning toward believing that the OP is telling the truth; however, it is possible that it is just an excuse. Unfortunately, no information from the OP on thread to indicate exactly how he may have gotten compromised.
Here is a similar described incident. But I don't think the telegram scammer actually had access to the bitcointalk account to confirm the credentials that he was giving. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5148419.0
440  Other / Meta / Re: Create an option to get an e-mail notification someone logs in on: June 05, 2019, 06:38:57 PM
Before I vote, I need to be cleared on the whole idea of email notification, what's the aim of this suggestion, is it that you want to to get notified each time your account get logged into or you're trying to prevent hackers from accessing our account?.

How about recieving this notification only when there is a change in users IP address instead of receiving a notification for every login attempt. Most platform uses this feature and it helps prevent hack attempts.

If the whole suggestion is about preventing hackers from gaining access to your account I don't see the usefulness of a notification when it might be too late before you can do anything about it.

It appears that some scammers on Telegram are trying to gain confidence from people by telling them they are a bitcointalk member. It appears one scammer may have gotten access to a reputed members account and sent PMs under the member's nose. Unfortunately, for the reputed member, there is really no way to prove definitively that he was "hacked." Now he is being asked to potentially make up for the victim's loss. I just want to make it harder for scammer's to use another person's account on the down low. I realize that e-mail notification is not a fail-safe. However, offering as many tools as possible to give people notification that their account may be compromised is a good thing. I personally don't want to force additional security options on people though. I think it should be up to the person to use the extra tool or not.
