Can you help me unban it? I need it for my work  Embarrassed Embarrassed

Nope. No one is going to help. You should have paid for a copper membership rather than try to up your post count by copy pasting. Now Eventchain will have to find a new person to post news for them because you personally are not allowed to post here again.

My guess is $3910.

Your wait time will decrease as you gain more activity. You don't need to get a merit or rank up to reduce your wait time.

What are the time limits on posting and the levels??
I know 360 seconds are for new people like me, but was wondering if there was break down somewhere on this.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

No crusade simply assisting you make sense of the merit system.
I have 50 sMerits I need to send. Since I can't make sense of the merit system can you tell me which posts I should merit?

That would be like asking your math tutor for the answer to the test you have been set.

Not really, I'm just trying to coerce you into giving up those unicorn unmerited-better-than-0.13% posts that you've been harping on for a few pages.

I'm starting to think that no such thing exists. Looks like I'll have to send those sMerits the old-fashioned way - to the 800 friends.

Well, the next time you see a rainbow, you could try running really fast or get in your car to go even faster. When you reach the end of the rainbow, I'm sure you will find them there.  Cheesy

BTC ===> Private keys leaked
http://directory.io/
 Cool

weeeeee

Didn't get a thing: what private keys? The website is down from here...

That site was a joke. Sure it gave lists of private keys with corresponding addresses, but good luck finding a private key for an address with coins in it. I believe the 1st pages had some hits of actually used private keys/addresses. But that is because I believe someone had used a really dumb private key like the equivalent of using the number one.

<…> If someone presses on the +merit, but has no smerit to give, then it gives the user the option to "report to merit sources." <…>
I don’t think it would work. What is there to stop every active user on the forum to report load of posts, getting into the nearly impossible situation where the queue would have a size similar to all the posts being created? (I’ve exaggerated it a notch, but that is what would happen I figure, unless lots of restrictions are set in place to somehow avoid abuse and troll report of candidate posts in large numbers).

Besides, for it to work similar to the regular reports, it would require for the Merit Sources to have a similar uniform criteria: if one proposed post is marked bad (i.e. does not deserve merit), then none of the other Merit Sources could merit it.

Well, it would naturally need some restrictions. If it were to be implemented, it would have to restrict the functionality to Jr members and above to mitigate sybils. Also, I think rather than a merit source having the option to mark something as "bad," it would give the merit source the option to "report to moderator." That way, if someone is trying to pass off insubstantial, off-topic, plagiarized posts etc. of their alt accounts, those posts will get reported to the moderators instead for proper action. If a merit source simply doesn't think a post deserves merit, they can simply mark it as unhandled and move on. Perhaps after x number of merit sources mark the post as unhandled, it will get removed from the queue entirely. Also, perhaps limit an account's ability to use this function to once every 24 hours.
As I stated in my previous post, this probably won't get implemented. It's just a suggested solution. I'm very curious where all these unicorns are hanging out that make really good posts, yet go neglected.

setting up suckers for the next leg down I see

I agree. I am beginning to suspect that Bitmex and/or some whales using Bitmex are just painting the tape to gobble up greedy little sardines. Maybe spoofy is actually controlled by the Bitmex team. Can't prove it though.

@cryptohunter Instead of bitching about how us merit sources are doing a piss poor job and only meriting people in our clique; please do go out and find some good posters for us to merit. I do my best; however, there is not enough time in the day to read every single post. (I wouldn't even understand the posts in the local boards.) I admit it, I usually stick to boards and threads that happen to be interesting to me. However, I will be happy to merit some neglected posters who are putting out fabulous posts and not getting the recognition that they deserve.

Please go back and reread the entire thread before posting nonsense based upon strawmen you are inventing.

I mean you may want to start with just my first post in this thread actually the first line. I see you must have missed that (along with the other multiple times i have reiterated that sentiment in different ways so all can understand)

No need to change anything about merit as again i have said perhaps 10x it is working well now so long as people don't start creating misleading meanings to their merit scores.

Well, what the OP states and your recommendations are very true. I usually avoid the megathreads, since it has a good deal of trash to sift through. There is one exception. That is the Wall Observer thread. And it is no secret that people who frequent Wall Observer posters are part of a clique. After all, most of us have hats as an avatar.
However, in the mean time, before everything starts to even out, many volunteers can point out all these good posts that are being sorely neglected. I will be happy to merit a nice gem and give people the recognition they justly deserve.

edit: Here is another possible solution to the dilemma the op is talking about. (although I doubt it will ever be implemented.):  If someone presses on the +merit, but has no smerit to give, then it gives the user the option to "report to merit sources." This would place the post in some kind of database that all of us merit sources would have access to. It would work similar as the "report to moderator" function. There may be a good deal of "bad" reports. However, with 119 merit sources, we can make short work out of it.

Ouch, that 15 minute candle must have schooled some bottom shorters. Bears getting rekt in a bear market; it just isn't right.  Cry

My Christmas wishes re bitcoin in 2019:

1. No ETF. Why? Because institutions are losers who don't give a s-t about bitcoin as an idea. Same for retirees. Watch them scramble to alternative assets once their asses would be on the line due to the downturn.

2. No bakkt. Why? Because bakkt will manifest custodial holding, hopothecation, rehypothetication, same as gold. Garbage! We don't need it. We do not need custodial solution when blockchain is the most secure custodian EVER.

3. No bitmain. I hope that they piss off and/or go bankrupt.

4. Yes 10X, maybe even 100X growth of Lightning.

5. Yes to more people participating in bitcoin.

6. Yes to more self-organization of the bitcoin crowd. We need it to survive potential fiat calamities. Do I want gold? Nope.

I agree with everything but LN. Sorry, but keeping my funds in a hot wallet is not the best security.

To anyone who opened up a 50x or 100x short on Bitmex in the last hour, my condolences.  Cry

Gee whiz, I haven't had any alcohol since 2009 and this market is making it very hard to not fall off the wagon.  Angry

1234  Other / Politics & Society / Re: overpopulation. are we being cheated?! on: December 08, 2018, 10:14:19 PM
You are not taking into consideration the people that live in cities, but not the "top 20" cities. I live in the Denver Metropolitan area. The area is rated 21st in population in US. With well over 2 million people, I would hardly consider this a "rural" area.
1235  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned on: December 08, 2018, 06:57:58 AM
Oh .in fact . when the account is locked. can not delete, edit, comment.

Ok tks . Perhaps the previous user of the account has copied

The mod that banned your account probably deleted the post. Also, the archive was made by the volunteer very recently. Not certain what you mean by "previous user." If you mean the original post, that post hasn't been edited. If the now banned account was acquired by you from another person, I hope that you didn't have to pay much for it.

Edit: It appears that the person who responded to your copy/paste post was also banned. His response is the exact same word for word as the response to the original post. Looks like a case of thread bumping to me.

Original:
A good project with the best idea of trust and a good team. Success of success is pleasant to me. Will there be apps for the phone?
I think yes, the platform will most likely work on all popular devices, so that users always have access to their personal cabinet!
Do you think that a mobile application is so necessary? Will it be convenient to use on the phone?
Well, as a mobile platform, we are considering not only mobile phones, but also tablets based on iOS and Android, I think they will be able to replace the PC

Wow, the project is really very promising, the site is very well done! Tell me please, and the sale of tokens is already on?

Further Edit: It appears the volunteer is on a vendetta to bust thread bumpers.  Shocked

Bear with me, long post incoming. Yesterday, I found a small nest of high ranked accounts shilling in scam projects, pyramid quoting, abusing signature campaigns and most importantly plagiarizing. I got 2 Hero members, 26 Sr. members, and 8 Full members. There are at least twice as many of them in other threads that I found. Will try to bring these accounts down as well.

Can you go to the comment I copied? I followed the link but could not see the comment

It appears the comment was deleted. However, the volunteer made sure to archive it, here.

Also, it appears someone responded to your post soon after and quoted it. You should still find that post.

1237  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned on: December 08, 2018, 06:08:48 AM

1 post here 9 months?

Yes, the copy/paste- plagiarism rule is strictly enforced and there is a trove of volunteers sifting through posts to bust people. There is not a statute of limitation on an offending post. Now that you know the reason, you can follow the instructions in your ban message and attempt an appeal. Unfortunately, the chances that your ban will be lifted are slim. You may want to lock this thread now that you know. I can practically hear the mob coming.  Cheesy

The OPs most major holding was 9000 dash. I suspect the OP had multiple Masternodes and probably fared quite well since 2012. I hope this wasn't all the accumulation and profits. It's a shame the OP probably picked up malware while trying to claim forked coins. That's why the only forked coins that I have claimed are the ones that my Trezor did for me. I may be missing out, but it isn't worth losing my coins.

How do you accumulate/earn 9000 dash?
Even if it takes several years that's a quite large amount of money.

The OP started in crypto at the latest in 2012. Even with lots of mistakes along the way, I'm sure it would have been mostly gravy at this point. Unfortunately, some ne'er do well helped themselves to his years' worth of blood, sweat, and tears. Also, I see from your profile that you started at the latest in 2015. Prices back then were dirt cheap compared to today's prices.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I GOT HACKED AND LOST 1 MILLION on: December 07, 2018, 06:22:44 AM
Is it okay to ask why did you keep so much money in Cryptos and not in the bank? Did you have any thoughts of redeeming these Crypos to cash and saving the cash in your bank or in other ways of storing cash perhaps in several bank accounts, stocks, savings, fixed deposits etc.?

If you have more than just $1m that you lost - would you be doing it now after this incident?

Hope these questions are not too personal.
