421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: January 11, 2024, 12:29:35 PM
This has been my biggest motivation. I wish to be like you in no distance time, but due to financial instability and other factors beyond my major control, it has always seem impossible to start now. Kudos to this great move, I believe you must be so proud of yourself for taking this bold step. I can't wait to join the moving train. Bitcoin is the future.
It won't as you already think that you can't that is the reason. But try to be optimistic and try to become really motivated, it will help you find ways how to start because there are a lot of ways, the problem is that we already have in mind that it is hard and we are incapable. In fact, many poor and jobless people still, they make it because that was their desire, and wanted to change their lives. Don't have a mindset of poor people but rather have a mindset of rich people then you will see the big difference.

Second game is important for NLEX as they had a chance to be in the quarters so that -4.5 spread @1.99 is attractive AFAIC because this is a must win game for them against the already eliminated Converge.

Tough luck mate. NLEX won but short by 1 point to give you that win.  They did play well though but converge are just not giving up although it's already a non bearing game for them AFAIK. Sometime, there are games like this that you get thrilled watching but in the end will break your heart.
423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is kind on: January 10, 2024, 09:55:06 PM
Yes I agree with your decision. But one thing that bothers me is that January 16th is very close. Will the traffic be reduced in such a short time? There are fears about this. You're going to increase usage by reducing customer transaction fees. But the market is not always the same. You should be aware that the price of any product is not stable.
If that is only a payment option, that won't bother you too much and the business continue. We can't still expect nor do we know how long the fees remain high but putting on the situation with OP, I would still pursue the plan and open the shop as scheduled. It was just an option for the clients if they used Bitcoin or fiat money as it was still accepted.

But having on the current situation of the market fees, that hold people from using it, $2-5 is huge enough to pay for a service.
424  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Achieving a goal on: January 10, 2024, 12:56:41 PM

Don't drink and trade folks.

It is a big mistake for someone who trades while drinking, that is a careless action and much more if you are using huge capital. It is something we don't have to do or else, we just wake up in a big surprise upon seeing we lose our money.

$25k is not just a small amount for me and I feel nervous if I have that capital knowing how risky is trading. But if we really have the confidence that we can do it right, why not? It is not impossible to reach $200k but just like the other members said, you must be focused on your trade and have an extra caution.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: January 10, 2024, 11:38:47 AM
Ain't that too soon for him? I bet Inoue wants to keep on fighting and cement his legacy in boxing but I think his team should be smarter when they accept contracts. I understand that he's still young and at his peak but they should be looking after their fighter's longevity too. Maybe take a a page from Mayweather's book on how he negotiates and leverage his position.

He wasn't damage on his last couple of fights, he beat Donaire in 2 rounds, same with Fulton and Tapales, it didn't last the full 12 rounds. He might have been hit combine in those 3 fights by just 10% or even less power shots from those fighters.

So he is still fresh and for sure the Japanese body will not allow him if they see that Inoue is not fit to fight in May. Just like during the prime years of Canelo where he fight at least 3x in a given 12 months run. Not sure if we can compare him against Mayweather as Floyd carefully picks the fight he wants.

Yeah, he finish most of his fights in the early rounds, so he wasn't relaly challenge to his limit yet. Honestly, I feel that we will see a similar outcome on his previous fight in this particular fight as I don't see Nery a real good fighter that is on the level of Inoue. This will be this coming May, hopefully Inoue will also consider fighting Casimero before this year ends.

My prediction here is KO, as to the question if it's early or late rounds, that depends on how aggressive Nery is, the more aggressive he is, the riskier he will take.

True, as we have followed Inoue's career after winning the WBSS tournament, he always destroys his opponent regardless of whether they have a puncher's chance against him like Donaire, who has one of the most wicked left hook during his prime.

Or a slick American in Fulton, so he has face a lot of styles before and he always comes on top and beating them in fashion, with a devastating knockout. So just like you, I'm also seeing a KO win for the Monster specially if Nery chooses to be aggressive.

When his opponent are in the ring, you can tell that they cannot take the hard punches of Inoue since their style suddenly change, from being an aggressive fighter to a defensive one. And as usual, instead of seeing a toe to toe fight, it will only look like Inoue's opponent only came to survive.

So we can understand the frustration of the fans, they want a fighter that could potentially give Inoue's problem, like matching his skills.

IMO, Casimero had proven it already when he beat Tete when he was a heavy underdog.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many individual holders of Bitcoin are there? on: January 09, 2024, 02:14:19 PM
OP With the way people are turning to bitcoin right now it's hard to estimate how many bitcoin holders there are. But this much can be said over the past few years, the number of Bitcoin investments and holders has increased manifold. Bitcoin is not legal in many countries so I think it is impossible to know the exact number of investors and holders. Now many people in our country have chosen Bitcoin as a safe asset. Even if Bitcoin is not illegal in our country, seeing the success of Bitcoin, many people in our country are secretly investing in Bitcoin and trying to hold for long term. In the current situation of Bitcoin, this much can be understood, it is expected that the number of investors and holders of Bitcoin will increase several times in the future.
It only be accounted properly if we all are using a single exchange but we have a lot of exchanges available in the market and they won't also speak out.
I don't think it is necessary to know instead, let us assume that the number of Bitcoin holders is growing fast every day.

However, we could also say that even though the number of holders is growing, some also are leaving.
All we've got are just estimated numbers but it doesn't matter because what is important is that we see a growing number of individuals who are in crypto already.

428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 09, 2024, 11:55:17 AM
So this season or conference, I think it will be only among the 3, Ginebra, SMB, and Meralco. However, if Fajardo will come back, it will be a different story as he is a problem in the paint, in addition, SMB's import are impressive on his first game with 51 points.

You forgot to mention the Magnolia Hotspots who is currently the number 1 in standing.

Actually, 3 (SMB teams) and 1 (MVP team) only that will reach to the semis, if Meralco will advance in the Finals, this would make a finals more interesting. And to make the PBA to generate more money again, most likely Ginebra will advance, I don't know how they'll do it, but if JMF isn't 100%, that could happen.

Magnolia is good though, no underestimating them but they don't attract the crowd, it's only Ginebra that could help the PBA to make big money during the Finals.

It is just sad to note that PBA is dying in terms of gate attendance and that only leads us to conspire that the commissioner's office is doing its best so that Ginebra will be in the Finals and forgetting the fact that Ginebra is a talented team with a talented import as well hehe.

But i'm going with SMB Beermen here even if Fajardo is not yet 100 percent because also of their import that could back him up in the low post as they already had a lot of guards.

It's good to see that we have different prediction here. It's just good to know that because it only shows we know PBA so well and we know basketball in general. Ginebra has a chance of getting in the Finals, but without Brownlee, although I must say that they also have a good import, but Brownlee is just different as he had proven himself already bringing the biggest honor to the country in terms of basketball,  he is not only within the league but outside as well since he lead our Gilas team to a championship.

Let's see how this season will end, if Ginebra will take the number 1 spot, then I guess we can trust them even with this new import.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do people always play gambling even if they always lose? on: January 06, 2024, 02:55:48 PM
The answer most often found is, they talk about the possibility of the goddess Fortune being on their side when playing.

these are the initial and final thoughts that will continue to haunt a gambler's mind when they have money in their wallet, chances are luck is the reason they make deposits and play. because so far in my opinion people who use gambling as entertainment are only a small portion of the gambling population, most of the gamblers hope to win and want to feel satisfied with their victory, this is an illusion of thought that they create themselves, so that when they lose they will continuously make deposits at other times with his own thoughts.
A kind of HOPE that brings them more losses instead of winning. A hope for desperate gamblers who can't fully accept that they will lose thinking that if they will continue to gamble despite losses, they can recover their losses without knowing that they already fall into the trap. Casino owners love seeing these gamblers behaving like this, that is all they want. The more we chase winnings, the more we experience losses, and the more we are getting far from enjoying it.

A reason why it is encouraged to gamble responsibly and to know when to stop.
430  Economy / Speculation / Re: A big buying opportunity might be on the horizon on: January 06, 2024, 01:53:35 PM
The fact that the halving season is next year, whether the bitcoin ETF gets approved or not, doesn't change the already existing history of bitcoin price that it will increase than it has, months after the halving. However, if bitcoin ETF gets approved fine, if it doesn't, still fine. That won't change what is expected to happen for the ATH of bitcoin in 2024/2025,

Everyone is focused on what will happen next during the halving season rather than the bitcoin ETF because that event won't increase the value of bitcoin as much as the halving will (months later).
What you say makes sense because in the past bitcoin has created ATH after each halving without needing an ETF, so this time it won't be a big deal if the ETF is not approved. But let's not be too subjective that history will always repeat itself, I mean there is no 100% guarantee that bitcoin will continue to create ATH after the 2024 halving. In my opinion, we should still have a backup plan for the scenario if there is no ATH after the halving and I want to look at the long term rather than just focusing on the halving.
Well, we may not expect it to run like in the previous halving but can't change how the community is expecting after halving as they are more optimistic than before. I may be wrong but people are tired of ETF approval, they are now looking forward to the impact of halving the market trend. And can't hide the fact that more people are investing in crypto these days because of the upcoming halving anticipating the possible skyrocket of prices when it is done.

I foresee that 2024 -2025 is a good year for cryptocurrency. Can't assure you how far the price of Bitcoin will reach but huge expectations are there.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin ETF is not Approved on: January 06, 2024, 01:17:32 PM
What if? The growth of Bitcoin continues, yeah that's right.
I could see that ETF approval is just like a manipulation power of the market as it drags people to invest thinking that this would increase the price of Bitcoin. Yet, they never knew that it was not the only factor affecting the price increase and not only a reason for its continuous adoption but instead, it was because of its function in the crypto space.

If the SEC disapproved ETF, nothing change as people still buy Bitcoin and hold it.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 06, 2024, 12:21:22 PM
A gambling expert brought i and some friends a guaranteed predicted game and asked us to stake a a high amount so that we winning could be huge and so we can give him a percentage of the money at winning.

I don't believe there could be a 100% guaranteed game but yet my friends who are eager to make profits in the gambling accepted to play the gamed as instructed and at the end of it, they all loosed the game and at then, the rest of us were happy because we didn't play the game else we would had loosed as others.

I want to ask, do you believe in experts gambling predictions?
No matter the experience one has in playing gambling their is no guarantee that if a game is played it will end up to be a win. Gambling is always unpredicted,  if their are people who can predict the results of gambling correctly gambling would have been a major source of income which people will be making a lot of money from it. When it comes to gambling nobody is an expert,  will are all predictors and speculators trying our best to see if luck can occur in our game. Anyone that wins in gamble is just lucky and not that the  person is an expert of playing gambling.
Whatever we do and whatever these people do, it can never change how gambling works. I don't think gambling experts really exist, it is just self-proclaimed. Let us assume if that person knows the exact result, I don't think he would tell anybody but rather make his bets and win big. But it never happens because he knows that he doesn't have assurance and he knows that he has more chances of losing his bet.

Those who believe them are greedy and lazy gamblers, they'll think it was an easy game but in the end, they realize that they have fallen into a scam.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 06, 2024, 12:03:47 PM
Memphis Grizzlies upsets the LA Lakers. This is one of the big news today. Jaren Jackson Jr. stepping up his game making 5/6 in three-point line and 3 blocks. Marcus Smart was also helpful in their offense. 29 points, 8/14 in the 3-point range which is amazing. I think the Grizzlies are getting their right position on who's who. They are still inconsistent but this is a good start for them.

Lakers continued their struggle, they had a good start in this game but could not end it the right way. It would be acceptable if they lose in a very close game, but that's not what happened, instead, they allowed the Memphis to dominate them in the 4th quarter. I don't when their struggle will end but I would like to say that they need to end this soon if they want to be in the playoffs.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: January 05, 2024, 09:45:41 PM
I said it wasn't a lie. we are not kids who watch cartoons anymore. if you ask what entertainment is for adults and what do we discuss among our friends? Of course, gambling is one of the ways we have fun. As long as we haven't become addicts, we still have common sense and can still control how to go gambling in our free time, there is always fun. unless we consider this is the main job to earn money, how many people I have even seen are in debt because of gambling. They take this kind of game too seriously which should be used for entertainment and fun.
Doing this together with our friends is more fun but if we did solely, that tends to change our mindset and we think about winning.
Well, I can admit that not all the time I'm happy especially when losing, I get mad but still I never blame anyone or even myself, I accept it as I understand what gambling is all about.

I couldn't pretend but still, I consider gambling as entertainment which means I'm doing this for pleasure rather than with the intention to win. If I get lucky then it is great but if I lose, it is still okay.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Solana - Is it still good to buy or it's FOMO on: January 05, 2024, 02:59:33 PM
I think the pump is enough now , after few weeks of continues increase last december now it shows red marking in market

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/solana/

and I think this will be going down to what is the regular price before the increase last year?

so If you are planning to buy more then better to consider sooner when the value drops good for Buy low Sell high strategy .
It happens often as we can never expect any project, even Bitcoin keep on increasing but gonna have time for its corrections. And often experience that after the hype, drops will come next. So not a question of seeing the situation over Solana because not all investors are also willing to wait longer as they are taking their opportunity to sell their coins while the price is high, and the others follow after seeing the decline. FOMO seems to happen always, panic selling is not new but the decline of price is considered an opportunity to reinvest.
436  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the btc price reach 100k ? on: January 05, 2024, 02:28:43 PM

However, Bitcoin has shown significant growth over the years, and some analysts and enthusiasts believe it could potentially reach $100,000 or even higher in the future. Market trends, adoption by institutions, regulatory changes, technological advancements, and overall market sentiment can all play a role in its price movement.

That is just speculation, no assurance from happening. However, because of the growing sentiment of the market adoption, we are expecting that price soon. But the question is how long we have to wait for it or if we are still able to witness that time.

I hope I was wrong but we still wait for several halvings and Bullrun before the price of Bitcoin reaches $100k and that is equivalent to several years as well. I don't think that it was important but we are looking to see Bitcoin become a legal tender globally so people can say that it was not a failure. It ends based on its purpose and the reason for its creation.
437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 05, 2024, 04:24:08 AM

@Viscore You wrote fast. Cheesy
Yeah, it was damn entertaining. It was an upset for gamblers. -10.5 was the starting bet for the Bucks and at halftime, it was -5.5 so, still not a win.

I don't usually write fast. Probably because of excitement man.  Smiley

Everything on the spread of the Bucks from 1st to 3rd quarter was a trap. I only saw the line in the 4th when Spurs were up 3 and the moneyline odds for the Bucks was 2.20. I didn't take it though because I already had my bet on them, was hoping it will reach to OT so Bucks would have a chance to cover the high spread, but Tre Jones missed a wide 3 point shot to tie the game.

That could have make the game more entertaining. Giannis got blocked? Hmmmm.. we can't see that all the time, and coming from Wemby, it should help him boost his confidence. Wemby has the touch though, they should have set up a play for him to shoot the last shot to tie the ball game.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: January 05, 2024, 04:02:16 AM
The only thing that will make that match possible is if there's a lot of money that's going to be involved and the right people will have their palms greased, there's no way that they're going to get that fight again quickly.

It's not a concern anymore, they build a hype for a long time so people already know if this will happen they are gonna grab a PPV subscription for this. Usually, it's on the PPV that generate a lot of money as it's worldwide, and before that Tapales vs Inoue fight which I think does not generate a lot of money, this Inoue vs Casimero has been rumored already.

I hope it will happen this year, there's plenty of time to make it to reality, so hang tight and we will eventually see a fight where Inoue would not easily dominate his opponent. (I believe on that).
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which blockchain has the highest rated TPS? on: January 04, 2024, 09:04:28 PM
Nothing new, it was still Solana and XRP leads as the highest-rated TPS and we're not sure if we can see another project that would be able to compete with them closely.

If the current situation (high fees) remains, let us say years, these two blockchains will be even more recognized. And probably developers will consider creating projects that help to solve the problem and offer low fees and fast transaction confirmations. Because that is what the users are looking now or else, no major crypto adoption happen especially when this high fee issue in BTC and ETH stays long.
440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 04, 2024, 01:53:32 PM
-snip-

Now my question is futures trade is actually gambling? Or how did he lose all his dollars?
For me it's not. There are many types of trading with different patterns and technicalities.
Gambling is not trading and trading is not gambling. That's what I think.
Buy at low prices and sell when prices rise. Trading is about how strong you are in trying to make a profit with the strategy you choose to use.

Those who thought that trading was gambling were those people who never knew what trading was all about.
In fact, there is no fortune in gambling but trading does if we want. As OP said MAYBE, it means that it was not certain yet and we can change that view if we personally know what it trading, not just knowing it from other people or these influencers. I'm not sure but I thought that OP is pointing out about LUCK and this will happen for the traders who lack of knowledge and they just rely on luck to make a profit. In this case, I'm not going to wonder if that trader considers himself into gambling because he is not actually trading with knowledge and skill but purely relying on luck.
