441  Other / Meta / Re: I wonder if the forum would be much better without signatue campaigns on: January 24, 2024, 06:49:18 PM
Would the forum be a better place?

In terms of post quality... maybe... and that's still a big maybe because people won't be so eager to post if they don't get paid. They will find some other activity which pays them. It could be freelancing, trading, getting an actual job... Since most people make posts to get paid, they won't make posts when they don't get paid.

We can see this behavior on the users who teleported their accounts to shitcointalk.com

Research:

When people stop posting, spam or not, 90% of the activity will be gone. And the remaining 10% won't be 100% good quality posts.

Let's say the forum currently has 100 activity now but only 40% of that 100 is good. That's 40 good quality posts.

When the activity drops to 10, and the quality percentage raises to 80%, That's 8 good quality posts.

Conclusion:

Sig camps must stay.

442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a social or casual good guesser make better gambling prediction carrier? on: January 24, 2024, 12:35:41 PM
That's how luck works. That's why so called "pro gamblers" can fail just like every other average Joe when they play dice-like luck based games. Your luck doesn't care how smart or hardworking your are. A college student can buy a lottery ticket and win the big prize while a million university professors who bought tickets end up winning nothing.

Considering that none of the participants had any prior knowledge, the game you described is also a luck based game.

The results would change a lot if these people start betting on sports because you can make educated guesses there somehow.
443  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 24, 2024, 10:16:37 AM
Shitcointalks.com? I don’t have an account there and probably never will.
So you're saying I can get a high-ranking shitcointalk account and sell it? Cheesy

I don't know what they do about that. I actually have taken a look around and I see that they don't let you have multiple accounts there unlike here. They ban it right away. So they are probably against account selling.

I also noticed there are many grammar errors made by either the admin or the mods. There is a picture made with paint.exe tells you about the forum rules... Everything in that forum reeks of unprofessionalism and it indeed looks like yobit's forum version 2.0.

People also can’t make money from sharing nudes here
Sure they can, but who's going to pay a bunch of ugly guys for nudes?

Are you telling me that you wouldn't pay a great deal to see foxpup's panties?  Cool

444  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 24, 2024, 06:23:09 AM
So what are you really telling? Are they going to become as big as btt? They may get bigger as btt gets bigger but will they become bigger than btt just because they have the mixer campaigns?

Well man, I've repeated it throughout the thread but I'll repeat it one more time: that if new restrictions on signature campaigns were to be introduced, what has happened now is a warning of what could happen: that traffic would go elsewhere. It's something that has been talked about many times on Meta, there's even a current thread on the subject, but this is the first time we've seen a restriction and its consequences.

People also can’t make money from sharing nudes here as they do it on onlyfans. Here is another deal btt failed to take advantage of. All those pretty girls do their thing on onlyfans instead of btt… and showing nudes for money is legal in the US as far as I know. Why don’t theymos create a board for the nsfw content? Lots of rich bitcoiners would pay for this kind of content.

theymos saw the risk with the mixers isn’t worth taking.

I wonder where the altcointalk servers are located. Does anyone have an idea about the admin’s home country there? Is it Russia by any chance?

Bitcointalk Global Rank: #39,778 Worldwide
Altcoinstalks Global Rank: #540,599 Worldwide

This quote tells everything you need to know about that forum. They won’t last.

Another blind member who sees still photos instead of processes. In October 2017, which is when ATT was created, that difference sure was a lot worse. And you could have said that with much more reason. 7 years later it's still alive and kicking. As well as having a bunch of quality posters teleported from Bitcointalk there.

So what are you really telling? Are they going to become as big as btt? They may get bigger as btt gets bigger but will they become bigger than btt just because they have the mixer campaigns?

I see some other user said it is easier to rank up there, if that’s the case, it is a good opportunity to make some extra income for those who have the extra time and dedication to raise an acc there.

I guess everyone has a different condition which makes them see this differently. For a person like me who has limited free time, it doesn’t make any sense to raise an acc there especially when that forum’s future is uncertain.

For somebody who doesn’t have a full time job, it is a nobrainer decision. Go and milk that forum.

Shitcointalks.com? I don’t have an account there and probably never will. Yobit tried to have their own forum and they failed miserably. The forum you are talking about is probably another wasteland. Even if somehow they have some conversation going on there, it won’t be any different than what happened on yobit’s forum. Mixers are advertising there now? Well, good riddance… If these mixers pay the same rate as they did in btt, then they are scamming themselves. I don’t think any real person reads that forum for real. It must be a massive spamfest. Still though, If any of you have a ranked acc there, go take advantage of it.

447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Transparent dices ? on: January 23, 2024, 06:26:22 PM
I think it won’t make a difference if the dice is transparent or not if you can spot a bad dice when you try it. A professional gambler would see through it right away. They probably do this just not to spook the newbie players. Since these people have no idea what they are doing, they will feel safer when they play with a transparent dice. It makes sense for the casino too because they make their money mostly from the newbie gamblers. Pros are pros because they know how to win against the house and the casino owners hate them pros.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Look Out For When Picking Your Favourite Coin? on: January 23, 2024, 06:20:47 PM
I usually pick old alts which has a solid history and wide user adoption. There aren’t many that fall into this category so my job becomes very easy. Xmr, eth, ltc, doge are pretty much the only alts that have these qualities. Xmr is fully anonymous, ltc has good user adoption, doge has slightly less adoption but has very cheap transaction fees and eth is the original shitcoin factory which will be around for a long time. So buying any of these probably won’t be a bad idea in the long run. There aren’t any other interesting project which will make me invest. All else are the same thing with different colors to me.
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silly and scary questions, and what would you do if that were you. on: January 21, 2024, 03:47:27 PM
I became worried and found it difficult to answer after my friend asked me scary and ridiculous questions about Bitcoin ownership.
he asked. If friends, new acquaintances, or other people find out that you have a sizable amount of Bitcoin, and you don't tell them. Then you are kidnapped with several people covering their faces, with the aim of getting your wallet address with the risk that if you don't give it you will be killed.
And another reason, you have given your wallet address to members you trust, such as family members or your wife and children.

And I want to know, what are you going to do.
Aren't you going to give the bad guy your wallet address, and you let him get killed. However, your Bitcoins remain safe because you have given your wallet address to someone you trust.
Or you will give it away because you still want to live, and you don't have any more Bitcoins.

And it was just a casual conversation with a friend of mine who both owns Bitcoin, and I was just wondering what other people's answers to this dreaded question made me want to create a thread.

When you are a wealthy person, these problems may emerge whether you own bitcoin or not doesn't really matter. If you live in a country where there are too many criminals, then as a wealthy person, this is the problem you need to solve first. Obviously, sooner or later you will be a target and if the juridical system isn't functioning, then your wealth will get stolen from you. Let's say you don't have any bitcoins but you have lots of FIAT in your bank account. These same people may still kidnap you, put a gun on your head and tell you to send the money to an overseas account. Once the transaction is complete, it will be over.

Getting rich is a hard task, the harder task is staying rich.
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Spot ETFs approved, Bitcoin is not fraud. Where is Jamie Dimon? on: January 21, 2024, 03:40:12 PM
Jamie Dimon said many times that Bitcoin is a fraud.

He is making money. Millions and millions.

Do you think he is not making money from bitcoin? Then you are a fool. Just because he doesn't like bitcoin, doesn't mean he is not going to make money from trading bitcoin. When there is money to be made, it will be made and JPM is very good at playing this game.

That guy may have said that to manipulate the markets. You'll never know what his real intention was.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Patience can help alot on: January 21, 2024, 10:02:16 AM
If you are worried about the money you are about to lose, you shouldn't be gambling in the first place, let alone having patience... Gambling is not about making big money, it is about having fun. If you see gambling as a job, sooner or later you will lose your patience anyway it is because you think you are working when you are gambling. What does a man who works for money want, if he wants to make more money? He will want to work more. In this situation he will want to gamble more. It is a big trap.
452  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kindly Share your trading Stategy. on: January 21, 2024, 09:36:00 AM
Trading is something where you need to know analysis, money management, analysis risk, maintain loss, Control Your Emotions and so on. Well I believe its good to have your own stretegy rather than following others. But everyone has different mindset, so are for their trading Strategies. Can you share yours, so that other one could learn from you and can do improvement in himself? Thanks

Buy low sell high.

That's the only strategy you need. Never check charts. Never use indicators. Never listen to anyone. Do you own research. If you paid $10 for something, you believed that something's intrinsic value is more than $10 and it will be traded for more than $10 in the future. That's why you paid $10 for it.

What happens when the price of that something drops to $8? Are you going to sell it because now the price is lower than what you paid?

That's exactly how you do the opposite of what I said earlier. That's how you get poor.

Trading crypto assets is just like trading coffee or sugar. You buy it, you add your own profit margin and sell it for a profit. If it doesn't sell, you wait till it does.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ? on: January 20, 2024, 09:29:21 AM
Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ?  If not, how much you think is sufficient to retire as Gambling winning ?

It is these kinds of thoughts make people poor and miserable. One can simply not get retired from gambling. (Unless you are the house) Why don’t you think about getting retired from the financial markets? Bonds, stocks, even crypto. These are the assets you should be buying if you don’t want to work till you die.

You also wanted a number from us. That number changes for everyone. Where do you live? What’s your monthly expenses? Do you have any sickness? How is the social security system in your country? Do the state pay for your medical bills?

Overall a million USD can produce ~$50k passive income annually and safely. If $4k/month is enough for you to retire, that’s the number you should aim for.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do people always play gambling even if they always lose? on: January 20, 2024, 06:39:59 AM
For the same reasons why people still drink and smoke even though they know that it is killing them.

Habits.

Gambling also makes you greedy so it is more dangerous than smoking and drinking. Not health-wise directly but since your health also depends on your finances, one can even say that gambling affects your health more than smoking.

Gambling gives you an illusion that you can become rich without having to work hard. In the end it only makes you poorer.

A man and his dad was talking one day…

-Dad, how is the marriage life? Is it good?
+Yes son. It is a wonderful thing. When you get married you will have somebody you can share your troubles with.
-But dad, I have no trouble…
+Don’t worry son, You will have it when you get married!

456  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan Chase fights 45 billion hack attempts a day. on: January 20, 2024, 06:17:14 AM
I do not feel sorry for them, I hope it eats up most of their over inflated salaries and bonusses.

That’s not how it works. They will pass the expenses on their customers. That’s what business owners do. When the gov raise the taxes on a certain product, the manufacturer doesn’t keep the price the same. They add the tax to the original price. So if JPM spends extra money on security, their customers will pay for it. JPM ain’t paying shit.

Have you ever noticed why a glass of beer is way more expensive in some areas of the city while it is dirt cheap in some other places? (Like the suburbs) It is because people pay a lot more for their rent if their business is in the city center. They serve the same beer but one of them charges $10, the other charges $5.
457  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 19, 2024, 03:21:33 PM
Some people take this forum way too seriously and that's the biggest mistake you can do here. If I were Leo, I wouldn't even create this thread. See what he did? Now he has to read the posts from his haters and get depressed or angry by them like that's what he needed.*

There were other people who died or left the forum without saying anything. That's for the best imo. The less personal information you share, the better it is...

We are at war with our enemies even in our last seconds. You should never show your full hand to your opponents. The game continues till you draw your last breath. Fighting from the grave is a cool concept but is it necessary to make your enemies happy while you are alive?

If you want to make this right, just tell people that you lied. You ain't dying, tell the haters to go fuck themselves and disappear when you are ready.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 19, 2024, 06:53:47 AM
Take the money and run.

Gambling is a negative sum game for the player. When you had the chance to get away with positive returns, you just do that. If you keep playing, not only you will lose what you have, you will go negative. You had a good run, now you should enjoy your newly found wealth. I am saying all that but I also know that you won't listen. It is because you made this money from gambling and you will lose it the same way...
459  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 18, 2024, 12:14:42 PM
As a person who lost a family member to a disease I know exactly how it feels to be desperate... Life is good, mostly sucks but we need to have as much fun as we can in our limited time. That's all there is to it. In the end we are all going to die some time in the future. I just hope it won't be a painful end... As long as there is no pain, it is like sleeping and never waking up again. We think 30-40-50 is a very young age to die and it is... then ask a person who is in his 90's and listen to his answer. He probably won't say that he had enough of life. We are all junkies addicted to oxygen and we all think it will continue like that forever... then some shit happens and... all gone.

If you think Michael Saylor is a good portfolio manager, you can do that. He looks like a btc supporter lately but remember he used to be hater. I know people’s opinions can change but what if he becomes a hater again? Do you trust his judgement? If you don’t want to trust someone else’s judgement then get gbtc. Or better yet, just bitcoin directly from an exchange. Get a hardware wallet and hold your coins there. It is not as hard as you think.
