1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this safe to say this about casino platforms on: January 28, 2023, 01:01:32 PM
The casino needs to have a big bankroll to be able to pay the winners. It doesn't matter if the money comes from the losers or the casino owner's own pocket and it doesn't make any difference in the end. The money should be there. People deposit money too but they don't always lose and sometimes they withdraw without playing at all. You can't depend on the deposits alone especially If they haven't lost that money yet. If they lose it, then it is the casino's money now. New casinos on the other hand don't even have that choice. The owner should make a casino bankroll from his own pocket. How are you going to pay a random big winner otherwise?
1222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: January 28, 2023, 08:30:19 AM
as we know, many people suggest investing in bitcoin because the risk is not too high.
but if we look at the market there are lots of people buying altcoins, and to be honest I also like to buy altcoins but there aren't many of them, and it's still my biggest investment in bitcoin. and to be honest even though investing in altcoins is risky but I always want to buy and the reason is because of the high pumping..
and I want to ask everyone what is your  for buying altcoins, is the reason the same as mine?

It is because altcoins are way more volatile and have less liquidity than bitcoin and because of that they provide bigger opportunities for those who want to get rich (or poor) quick. Tbh trading alts or playing dice make no difference to me. Both of these actions are different colors of gambling. Just because you are trading an alt with low liquidity doesn't mean that you are an investor. No, you are still gambling.

This is the biggest step to destroy the middle class. I mean the middle class weren’t alive much anyway but thanks to AI, job-wise whatever was left available for them will be gone soon.
Fear not however.
The Universal Basic Income will come to the rescue.
By 2030, everybody will be driving golf carts, eat insects, have their citizen scores and universal basic income. You won’t have to go to work. You will be at home watching netflix all day and your masters will send you $$$… as long as you keep eating them bugs.
Just don’t ever never demand to eat a damn steak.
Or we will have a problem.
Off to the gas chamber you freak! I zaid no meat!
Are you also a Klaus Schwab fan?
As I understand it, those nations that are used to resisting and not submitting to world leaders are now being destroyed.
And artificial intelligence will set limits for each resident for spending on certain needs.

Are you trying to insult me? No I am not a Klaus fan. I despise him but I also understand him somehow. You are right that most nations are basically slaves to wef and that's because almost every big international company is a wef member.

https://www.weforum.org/partners

Being a wef member is like becoming immune to certain stuff. If they want to get big, they must pay klaus a fee.

1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: We lose on the long run through return percentage on: January 26, 2023, 07:46:35 PM

I just googled the return percentage of online casinos and saw different percentages that doesn't seem real. A slot machine can be written to pay out 98%, but its programmed to pay 90% and it's publicized that way to attract more people to play using that slot. Though one slot could be paying out that amount in the casino, yet my point is that no casino offers 100 percent payout that means if a slot pays out 94 percent for every 100 dollar bill spent on that machine the player losses 6$ to the casino. That is if you play longer times you'll lose, and we can almost never stay atop of the slot machines after long period of plays, unless you win a jackpot. Even if you win a huge amount, you can lose. They are numerous stories of people who won the jackpot and ended up spending the whole money back on the casino within a short period, 1 or 2 years, they lost the jackpot.

Isn't it?

Inspired by Jean Scott - Frugal Gambler

That's the whole idea behind the gambling business. If you were winning in the long run against the house, the house wouldn't exist. If the house dies, then where are you going to play at? In gambling, money only moves to one direction: From the players' pocket to the casino.

Jackpot winners are as rare as the lottery winners because they have pretty much the same chances to win (which is very slim). We can't include them in our calculations.

The casino is there to make money, that's how they make a living. The player has only one choice in the long run: Losing.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX deserves all criticism but not the hate on: January 26, 2023, 05:09:40 AM
CEX deserves all the hates it getting now but doesn't mean it has also not been helpful to bitcoin and crypto space.

True. Most people in crypto can't handle the responsibility for their funds let's be honest. CEX's and banks are there for this purpose mostly. To fix the stupid stuff you do. In an ideal world, banks and cex's shouldn't exist but we don't live in an ideal world. It is not even a matter of stupidity sometimes. Sometimes clever people make mistakes too.

People hate the CEX and banks so much but they can't imagine what would happen without them. It would be catastrophic.
1226  Other / Meta / Re: Why as a community we are not active on Youtube? on: January 25, 2023, 01:58:59 PM
There are more than enough youtubers on youtube that are crypto fans. How do you know if btt isn't on youtube? I think most of us that have a youtube channel is talking about crypto there. Just because people have a channel on youtube doesn't mean that they should link their forum account to their youtube channel.

I used to know a few famous youtubers that write in this forum but I can't remember their nicknames now. We are more crowded than you think.
1227  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the factor that affects the price of bitcoin on: January 25, 2023, 01:56:30 PM
There are a bunch of preconceived ideas about the aspects or justifications that affect the price of Bitcoin. I will give you some illustrations: Contest; Cost of production; Supply and Demand; Restrictions and Legal Matters etc.

In your statement or ideas, what are the elements that can influence the price of bitcoin?

Coin whales.

Everything else is pretty insignificant. If the whales decide to buy, the prices rise. If they panic, the prices fall. It is that simple. Miners have very little impact on the prices because the block rewards are pretty small now and it will even get smaller after the next halving.

The central bank interest rates seems to have a considerable effect on the asset prices as well. The more the interest rates rise, the more people lose their interest in the other investment options.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too accessible of online casino grows addiction faster? on: January 24, 2023, 05:51:43 PM
I have a discussion with a close relative about online gambling and he said something that about how he hate gambling online because it's too addictive, he claimed real life casinos are better and less addictive because he will have to drive down to Las Vegas to gamble or drive down to a local casino and this still takes some physical effort and it discourages many people from frequenting gambling.

He said with online gambling it's available on through mobile phones and you can play at any time, this means no shortage of gambling around the clock and no shortage of losing money as well, you can easily pull out your phone and gamble with any free time, a bit compulsive and too accessible.

What do you think about this claim? Is he right or wrong?

I think both of them can become addicting. Tbh with you, I like real life casinos better than online casinos sometimes it is because humans are social creatures. Sometimes you just want to see some smiling faces around you. That alone can create an addiction. If visiting real life casinos make you happy, then you will always want to be happy. To be happy, you visit casinos. In the end you will always be going to casinos and make an addiction out of it. Drugs do this to people too. Same logic applies. You do drugs, you feel happy. To feel happy you always do drugs and then boom, you end up dead.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin gaining this much fame despite it's restrictions? on: January 24, 2023, 05:48:18 PM
Though I'm new in the cryptocurrency space,I have been hearing so much about crypto ( Bitcoin precisely) lately even before I got registered on the forum and I had to ask this very question because in three days I've heard and seen people talk and discuss about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general and it prompted my question wanting to know why it has been talked about this much and gaining more acceptance in my local community despite it's restrictions in my country and is it also gaining this much fame in your environment?

It is because bitcoin offers freedom. People are not mostly free nowadays. Some of them think they are free but in reality they are just slaves. Bitcoin is putting an end to slavery. With bitcoin, you are your own bank. You have the total control of your funds. Gold offers a similar deal too but the difference is, bitcoin is actually portable and you can move it from one country to another without asking permission from anybody.

Bitcoin is life changing tech. Of course people will talk about it.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This Smells Like Hypocrisy on: January 23, 2023, 04:33:51 AM
Quote
Gambling in Japan is not black and white. In fact, gambling is considered a criminal offence and is generally banned across the country.

Those that are found gambling can face large fines and even serve jail time.

However, there are exceptions to this rule. Betting on horse racing and the lottery are two forms of gambling that are accepted in Japan.

To me, this seems hypocritical. You claim that gambling is illegal, but you may bet on horse racing, Pachinko, bicycle racing, boat racing, and Mahjong, which baffles me. I do not seem to understand. Why is that so? You claim it is unlawful, yet wagering on games that are overseen by the government is not unlawful. Is this not hypocritical? What does the government fear?

https://gamblingnewsmagazine.com/gambling-in-japan/

Not only that, if they are serious about banning gambling then they should shut down the stock markets too because that’s the biggest casino in every country.

Gambling is always in our daily lives. Nobody can avoid it. Every choice we make has some gambling element inside because we can’t know the future but only can make predictions which is the basics of gambling.
1231  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electric Cars - The future ? on: January 22, 2023, 08:42:03 AM
It is kind of hilarious that people actually think electric cars are running on clean energy while ICE cars are running on dirty energy.

The electricity you get from the grid is stored on lithium batteries but where does the grid get the electricity? Germany is right now burning coal (which provides 30% of Germany's electricity) to provide the electricity for their grid, so their citizens can charge up their EV's. How crazy is that? and that's happening because they can't get the Russian gas.

It is even more crazy that Germany actually shut down 3 nuclear reactors in 2021 which were actually a way to get "clean" energy.
1232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin increased my mental awareness on: January 22, 2023, 08:14:09 AM
Bitcoin has that kind of effect on the human brain indeed. That is because bitcoin makes you think. It makes you think about the financial system, how the elites are ripping off the poor, the world hunger, poverty, low wages and the most importantly... the gold standard.

They more you think the more your brain muscles work. The more your muscles work, the bigger they get. Bigger, harder and last longer.

I think in the future some smart scientist will come up with a bitcoin pill and overtake viagra.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: January 22, 2023, 08:10:41 AM
Do you think it makes sense if a crypto gambling platform only accepts it's own token for gambling and gambling on it's platform? If the games they offer are one-of-a-kind, new, and addictive wouldn't this make the gambling token very valuable? I am asking on behalf of a friend who wants to build his own crypto gambling project on the blockchain. Will this work? Will this fail? What's your take on this?

No. A crypto casino should accept at least one of the well known cryptos. It could be bitcoin but  if they don't, I can understand it. (maybe they think the fees are too high sometimes) Doge, LTC, XMR, ETH (this is expensive too sometimes) are good alts. A crypto casino should at least accept one of those currencies if they are thinking for the long term.

Then they may offer their own token as a side business. Freebitco.in kind of does this. They accept bitcoin and fun tokens.

They wouldn't be so big if they were offering fun tokens only.

In the past there was another casino accepting their tokens only, I think the token's name was clams or smth. They aren't here anymore as far as I know.
1234  Economy / Economics / Re: A True Leader With Economic Vision. on: January 22, 2023, 08:05:34 AM
I don't know anything about the CEO of the bitcoin.com but I know that they think bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin. They probably don't push this as hard as they used to anymore but you still see bch articles along with bitcoin on bitcoin.com.

Why don't they abandon this failed project and get united in bitcoin once again? Roger is not the CEO anymore so there shouldn't be any problems with this.

If this guy you mentioned is as great as you say, he should abandon bch and make bitcoin.com great again.

1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible to invest in bitcoin to build a country whose economy is down? on: January 21, 2023, 06:30:49 PM
Investing in bitcoin has nothing to do with fixing a country’s economy. Bitcoin can’t fix stupid. It is the other way around. You use bitcoin if you are smart.

If the majority is stupid in a country, whether you use bitcoin, fiat or crypto it doesn’t matter. The result will be the same. People will suffer. They will suffer for their own choices because they are stupid.

You invest in bitcoin or whatever asset you prefer only to reward yourself. It is only your business.
1237  Economy / Economics / Re: how to overcome inflation for the community on: January 21, 2023, 04:29:53 PM
how to deal with inflation according to my community:

1. Save money
2. Prepare for an emergency
3. Looking for additional income
4. Consumption of domestic products
5. Start investing and saving

that is the way in my opinion to overcome inflation in society. then what do you think? Is this way possible to overcome inflation?

Saving FIAT money is the worst thing you can do against inflation. You have to have some but saving big amounts is the exact move that will ruin you against the inflation. What you need to do is buying goods like toilet paper, dry food, water, land, gold... anything that has limited supply and people demand in their daily lives.

Investing is a good option too but investing in what? In an inflationary environment, the asset prices go higher higher till they collapse. That's what happened in 2008. If you can't get out in the right time you will be destroyed.
1238  Economy / Gambling / Re: How best to report vulnerabilities? on: January 21, 2023, 11:23:16 AM
Anyone else have any experiences of trying to report issues like this?  I want to be rewarded for my time verifying the issue without taking advantage of it and alerting someone about it, too, so I'm also just worried about giving the info out and having them come up with some excuse like "oh it just needed a restart it's fine now, that's not a bug."

Well if the bug isn't that serious, they will fix it the moment you mention it. That means you don't really deserve a reward for your discovery.

If the bug is a complex one, you need to find a way to describe the problem without giving them the important hints.

Maybe you warn them first and if they aren't interested in your proposal just use the exploit and give them a taste.

They will be all ears then.
1239  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why would someone think of suicide? on: January 21, 2023, 10:54:53 AM
now there are many suicides, especially because the economy that is still unstable makes them even more stressed.

but actually, apart from stress, what makes someone think about ending their own life? What do you think

Source please. Which country are we talking about?

Suicide is the coward's way out especially when it is about money. You can make money all the time. There are hundreds of thousands of examples that lost everything they got, started from nothing and made a bigger fortune than they previously had.

All you need to do is, not repeating your mistakes. People think it takes too much time to get rich. It doesn't if you make the right moves.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to organise your Bitcoin wealth for a lifetime? on: January 20, 2023, 06:47:58 PM
The more complexity you have with your finances, the more likely that you will fuck it all up.

For crypto, you only need 2 wallets:

1- A hot wallet where you keep low amounts for your daily purchases. (A mobile phone would do)
2- A cold wallet where you keep your life savings. (A self made paper wallet)

You don't really have to make it more confusing than it already is. If you can't keep it simple to keep your coins safe, maybe you should stick to banks.
