1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 13, 2023, 05:13:37 PM
I don't have experience in altcoins, but I have quite an interest in investing in altcoins, but when I hear the news that investing in altcoins is very dangerous because the potential for losses is so big, but I found out on the internet, it turns out that we can invest in altcoins as long as the in quality altcoins,
and finally I saw on cmc that the number 1 altcoin is ethereum, and finally I'm quite interested if I have the capital to want to invest in ethereum.
and I saw the news that it turned out that a lot of people were investing in ethereum because the ethereum project is very good and has a lot of fans. and I want to ask everyone?

: does ethereum have a good future?

: is it not wrong if I choose to invest in ethereum?

: what is the drawback of ethereum?

: why is ethereum the no. 1 ALTCOIN?

Nobody knows if eth has a good future. It did fine so far but we can't know the future for sure. Litecoin used to be #2 coin too. Look where it is now. The very same thing very well may happen to eth in the future. It is less likely but not impossible. Another example is ripple. It used to be the #2 coin on coinmarketcap. People thought it is the next big thing. Then it was revealed that it wasn't more than a centralized scam.

ETH is popular now but who knows? Maybe some other coin will become more popular than eth.
1262  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Gizmo Miner. 5v-9v power efficient.Solar Focused. Bitcoin miner. on: January 13, 2023, 04:43:02 AM
Solar and btc mining don’t mix well anymore. That’s because bitcoin is now at a state of being an energy consuming godzilla.

You can’t satisfy this beast with solar energy anymore. It has become so big, only the most efficient ASICS can please it, and these ASICS still consume lots of powa.

People still run their old miners on solar but that don’t mean they are mining “anything”
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Video how i turn 0.3 ethereum into 0.6 ethereum in dice on: January 13, 2023, 04:30:04 AM
All happened in 3 minutes let me kbow what you think on my skills

https://www.loom.com/share/d6226bd250cf4c59b2dc126130929f05

What you show us here is pure luck. Just because you doubled your money once using whatever strategy you did there don’t mean you cab do this successfully every time.

I can post here my video showing how I double 3 sats to 6 sats. Would that mean I am a magician that knows how to double money? Obviously not.

What you accomplished has nothing to do with your skills because dice is not a game based on the skills of the player.
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Anonymity on: January 12, 2023, 07:51:17 PM
I have read that authorities are able to track the bitcoins if they are being move illegally. For example, if a wallet was hack and also most cryptocurrency exchange would require you to show ID when you sign up.

So my questions are..

1) How are the authorities able to track our bitcoins?

2) How do we continue to remain anonymous while trading bitcoins?
3) Are there cryptocurrency exchanges that does not require our ID to trade in large quantity?

Bitcoin is a public ledger. Anybody can track bitcoins.

The hard part is knowing the owner of the coins and that's a job for the police. Also, exchanges are going big on KYC lately and that's making the cops' job easier. If you mine your coins yourself, nobody can possibly know that you have any bitcoins. If you somehow purchased your coins from an exchange or some other person than they will know about you if they want to.

That's why people say bitcoin is semi-anonymous.

If you want full anonymity then use monero.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its trading on exchanges. on: January 12, 2023, 02:53:40 PM
This year promises to be a year of big regulations from the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. If bitcoin is recognized as a commodity, then it should be traded under the same rules as oil, gold and other similar goods. Therefore, bitcoin may be banned from trading on many crypto exchanges until these exchanges receive the necessary licenses.Where am I wrong?

We will either move to the decentralized exchanges where nobody gives a fuck about any rules/regulations or we will have to swallow this one up.

Tbh I think regulations will do more harm than good to crypto. The SEC don't even do their job right. There are many manipulations happening in the stock markets right in front of everybody and the SEC don't give a damn about it. Why would they care about crypto when they don't care about stocks? It is all a massive buzz.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Criteria of a good gambler on: January 12, 2023, 02:41:04 PM
The qualities mentioned here are definitely the qualities of a good gambler should possess. But the sad thing is that a gambler cannot always possess such qualities in himself. As a result they have to face losses. If the new gamblers understand these things well and gamble after gaining knowledge, they can be relatively more successful. A few days ago, when there was no research on gambling but now due to the progress of this industry, various types of research have been started on it, so if anyone want, he will get a good idea of how a gambler can control himself.
The new gambler is too eager to win a lot of money but they do not learn about self-control and it will cost him more and more if he does not want to do it,
This would become an even bigger problem because the longer he could not control himself, the more he could develop a gambling addiction.
Every gambler must own self-control to avoid gambling losses and know when to stop.
There is much more that one needs to learn to become a good gambler but only a few become such gamblers.

Thist is easier said than done. Most gamblers gamble to get rich in the first place and that idea contradicts with everything you said above. (even though what you said was right) The problem is greed. People should stop seeing gambling as a source of income. They should see it a way of entertainment instead but we know that is not going to happen any time soon. This was the thing 1000 year ago and it still is and will be 1000 years after today. People will never ever overcome their greed.

It is very hard to make a definition of a good gambler. Again according to your description, a good gambler is a person that gambles less which kind of don't make sense. It is like saying a good smoker is a person that smokes less.  Cool
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we really make a living in sports betting? on: January 10, 2023, 08:57:00 PM
I heard lots of stories online that there are people who are making a living in sports betting, and honestly it really inspires me that's why I'm still gambling now. So I'm just curious, do we have members of the forum here that are making a living in sports betting? Can they share some inputs on how to be successful like them?

I hope they will share so we will know if it's really possible. I mean, as the saying goes, casinos always win because they have the advantage, so how come people are making a living in sports betting?

You can in theory but the ways you are going to use to achieve this goal are all forbidden. There are strategies like EV betting, arbitrage betting and these are banned by the casinos usually. The casino owners don't want you to make a living from gambling. That's not your job. It is their job to make money as they are the house.

If you make a constant streaming income from gambling, then you are effectively competing with the casino owners. They don't want that.

When they find out about your intentions (making money) they will lock your account and show you the door.

It is not worth the trouble find yourself a rl job.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mark Cuban wants to buy more Bitcoins on: January 09, 2023, 03:16:10 PM
Link to news
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/12/28/mark-cuban-wants-to-buy-more-bitcoin-says-gold-investors-are-dumb.html

So another celeb is showing trust and faith in bitcoin. Mark Cuban considers more strength in bitcoin in comparison to Gold. Do you agree with him ?

Anybody with any common sense would agree with him. Bitcoin is superior to gold in many ways. Bitcoin is portable, gold is not. Bitcoin can act as a currency, gold can too in theory but it is not practical to use gold as a currency. Bitcoin has limited supply. Gold has near infinite supply because of astro mining. Should I continue?

Drop gold, buy bitcoin. Bitcoin is the new gold.
1269  Economy / Economics / Re: Will central banks ultimately fail in their goal of lowering down inflation? on: January 09, 2023, 11:22:36 AM
They don’t really have a choice. They will either let the inflation loose, or crash the markets while fighting it. There isn’t an easy way out of this. Whenever the central banks have to make a choice between high inflation and high interest rates, they always choose high inflation. People think the interest rates are high now… in reality they are at half of what they need to be. You can’t fight inflation that way. Nobody can. At some point Powell will tap out and start QE’ing again.
1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 08, 2023, 08:36:40 PM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
I really want to know your opinion on this and what are the initial steps I should take if I adopt cryptocurrency for my business? Because I see many people on the forum are taking steps to accept Bitcoin for businesses and that's why these questions araised in my mind.

You can use a centralized service like bitpay which will pay you in USD. You are not going to touch crypto at all. You will only see the $$$ in your bank account. Of course they don't this for free. You need to pay them a fee.

If you are a business which attracts many crypto people then a solution like bitpay would help you to grow your audience. Otherwise, it is probably not worth paying bitpay. (or whatever crypto payment gateway service you have in mind.)
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Vision on: January 08, 2023, 08:33:08 PM
Anyone help me to understand what is bitcoin SV

I know a little but researching on web will take much time
and you guys are awesome explain everything in very best way then me[/color]

Bitcoin SV is an altcoin owned by Craig "fake satoshi" Wright. The dude is a scammer who claims to be satoshi nakamoto but obviously he is a liar. That's because if he was satoshi nakamoto, he would have posted a signed message from a satoshi block/address.

Since he can't do that, he isn't satoshi nakamoto.

The coin itself is useless too. Nobody uses it, nobody trades it. It died long time ago and nobody cares.
1272  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts on revenge trading? on: January 08, 2023, 07:43:59 PM
Of recent, I've come across alot of people talking about traders chasing their losses which at the end, leads to possible blowing of accounts.
I understand that people trade with expections and most times when this expectations aren't met, they try as much as possible to chase after their losses and my questions are
~ what is your take on revenge trading?
~ Do you think people intentionally go into revenge trading or is is just emotional?
~ what will you advise someone making series of losses ?

It is a form of gambling. It is like losing $50k playing dice then wagering $50k more to take the first $50k back. Of course 99 times out of 100 the player loses his second $50k too and ends up losing $100k.

You can avoid these situations only if you invest/trade/gamble with the money which can afford to lose. Otherwise you are going to create a situation where you will make more mistakes like the guy in the example I gave you above.

Always have a back up plan and that plan shouldn't be the same plan which made you lose money.

Quote
I lost money trading "shitcoin A". I need to trade "shitcoin B" to make up for my losses from trading  "shitcoin A".

^Big No no.
1273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Are Players Going To Trust Casinos If They Don't Show Solid Evidence on: January 08, 2023, 06:45:33 PM
There isn't  much we can do in these situations. However, I have seen DT people forcing the casinos to give out better explanations before.

1- The user shows incredible proof of a scam
2- The casino says bla bla bla multi acc bla bla cheat
3- User says show logs, show proof
4- Casino says blabla bla our logs are private bla bla bla

5- DT enters the chat. Gives a red trust rating to the casino.
6- Casino suddenly freaks out and tries to work something out with the user in private

7- The user either agrees with the casino or denies the offer
8- Casino will have no other choice but to give the user whatever he wants

This exact story above happened before.

DT have the powa.
1274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 08, 2023, 04:13:37 PM
Most gamblers must have went through this, sometimes luck appears to be your side specially in games like casino war or dice.

Today, morning I was playing casino war, I just use martingale - I know it's lame strategy. But I won most of time.

Then later at noon, luck just didn't appear to be on my side. A constant losses with win every once in a while to recoup the losses and then losing streak, all funds gone.

Now, let's be some superstitious and say, if you play only when luck appears to be on your side, would you call that a good strategy?

Nope. It is just luck. The strategy you use has nothing to do with your winnings or losses. Even if you don't use any strategy, wager everything you got, if you are lucky, you will win. If not, you will lose. This can''t get any simpler than this. I wonder when will people lighten up and stop trying these "strategies".

I guess it true what they say, there is a sucker born every second. Otherwise these casinos would go bankrupt.

If you are going to try something at least try something other than martingale. You will lose anyway but at least try to be original.
1275  Economy / Speculation / Re: what If Bitcoin Price never comes up on: January 08, 2023, 04:08:16 PM
Who cares? Bitcoin will function anyway. The price don't affect bitcoin's ability transact value. If you invested more than you could afford to lose, that's your problem. Nobody said bitcoin is a rock solid investment which will make you rich. The sooner you learn and adapt to this reality the better it is for you. If you want to make money get a job, make other investments (like buying real estate). Bitcoin is not the only game in town.
1276  Economy / Economics / Re: WEF On Cryptocurrencies: Crypto is here to stay on: January 08, 2023, 07:17:35 AM
We don't need to hear this from an evil organization. We already know that. If they have any future plans for crypto you can be sure that it won't be any good for the humanity. These are the motherfuckers who want you to have nothing by 2030. Following that logic they want crypto to become nothing in 2030 too. We can't have this. WEF needs to disband.
1277  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need advice about a new BTC/Crypto based website! on: January 08, 2023, 06:57:45 AM
Hello guys,

I am a developer, recently, I developed a website that we are missing in Bitcoin world for some time now. (I can give more info in private)

But as a programmer, I lack marketing skills, so I can't launch the website all alone by myself. I want your advice on how can I get help or partners. A guy who can trust me and I can trust him. someone who wants to start a new business and knows about the Bitcoin market. (The website itself is already done and I can present a demo).

I tried Reddit, but no luck, it is really restricted for crypto and these kinds of posts (because of scams probably).

Please note: I don't ask for any kind of investment or payment.

My Telegram: @zeos_403
Email: zeos_403@yahoo.com
(I can provide my personal profiles in PM)

What's so hard about launching a website? Just send the files to the server? You are a dev you should know that. Marketing is a tough topic but you need to have a working product first so you can market it. It seems to me that you want to attract hundreds of people right in the first day. That's not going to happen. You are not CZ, you are not SBF. You are lucky if have a couple of players (wait were you developing an online casino lol), in the first week.
1278  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there anyone who enjoyed playing table soccer on: January 07, 2023, 03:44:15 PM
I used to play this game maybe ten years ago. I don’t see them around anymore somehow. They are probably not that popular nowadays.

It is a fun game and you actually need to have some skills to beat your opponent unless he is a complete moron. However, I never got addicted to that game. It is fun but not addictive at all.

I was interested in Ping/pong a lot more. No need to mention, pingpong is a way harder game. It is more fun too and I was definitely addicted to it.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Microstrategy owner (michael saylor) holds huge amount in bitcoin on: January 06, 2023, 05:13:41 AM
Michael Saylor is a true bitcoiner, that’s why. He sees the value in bitcoin. He sees that the world will eventually dump the dollar and use bitcoin as the world reserve currency. That’s why he is going big on bitcoin. Right now he is not worried about the price of btf one bit because in the long term it doesn’t matter.
1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 05, 2023, 06:44:21 PM
Chess tournaments as well as checkers may be a good sports field for the betting industry. I know I would bet in a chess match as I already did that against a friend. We have gathered a group pf players in my neighbourhood. Thrn we started with a betting game where we could bet on the winner ot we could bet on first player going for a check. Ithe experiment worked out fine. So, if there was a site where you could bet on checkers or chess would you go for it?

I don't think people would make bets on a game that bores them... and we all can agree that watching people playing chess has zero entertainment value. Checkers ain't any different. It is just another boring board game.

I think people rather would bet on e-sports  like DotA, CS, LoL etc. These games provide more entertainment to the youngsters especially.

And old people who like playing chess are usually wise enough to not make a bet on anything.
