Back in my day, red trust ratings meant something. It wasn't something you would convert to a neutral rating so easily.

You youngsters don't know that but there was a hero...

Her name was "Lauda"...

She was the perfect scam buster and when you received a tag from her, it was impossible to get rid of it.

Once she marked you, it was over.

No second chances, no negotiations.

Appeals? Fuck em.

She would defend her position with clever arguments to the very end. She was convincing too. Never backed down. No apologies.

Those were the days...

Then eventually she got compromised. She apologized. Sad That day I lost a piece of mine.

Aah...

Wow I wasn’t visiting this board for quite some time and you know what?

It delivered.

Reading it page by page and it is worth every second I have spent here.

Oath breakers, fallen angels, back stabbers, anonymous executioners, negative trust ratings going in every direction like firing a machine gun…

This is the bitcointalk I remember.

Only Lauda is missing in this picture…somehow :/
1423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling house responisbilty to protect people data on: October 30, 2022, 06:21:47 AM
Ideally, gambling houses should not disclose the identity of the person who won big without first asking him. Unfortunately, this is not respected always.

Those gamblers who do not want their information to be public, but the gambling houses make their names public, can go to the court of law as this is a serious offense. Gamblers can claim damages to the gambling site on this basis. Do you think gamblers should take the help of courts in this case ?

They should but what can the courts do in this situation?

Most casinos don’t accept any players from the US because the US judges can judge anyone in the world and the other countries can’t do anything about it because these casinos are usually located in those small Caribbean islands…

Let’s say you live in France and the casino you played on is located in somewhere far away. What are you gonna do if the casino does these offenses you mentioned?

Sue them? Yeah good luck with it.
1424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prime Minister of UK - A crypto believer on: October 30, 2022, 06:17:45 AM
As expected from the world’s finance capital.

The UK makes most of its income from banking/finance and it would be mad to drive crypto users away.

People want this product, they want to hodl it, they want to trade it, they want to purchase stuff with it. Why make things harder for people especially when you can get your own cut from the action?

Rishi sees what is happening perfectly and he wants to get a piece for the UK and tbh, the UK needs that piece pretty badly considering how badly their economy is doing lately.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Would a Nation of Sports Gamblers Look Like? on: October 30, 2022, 05:12:12 AM
I see two things here. The first is that I am surprised that there are a lot of states in the USA where gambling is not legalised. Gambling has its bad things, like alcohol for example, but it is more than proven that by prohibiting it you don't eliminate it, you leave it in the hands of mafias and you stop collecting taxes. And this brings me to the second part, that part of the taxes will be used to help the homeless seems to me to be a poor argument. What we have to do is to attack the root of the problem and try to avoid, or at least reduce the percentage of homeless people.

Then, as for the clothes that people may be wearing, I consider that a secondary issue.

Gambling makes people poor and in a country like the US, you are literally fucked if you are out of money.

Smoking and drinking alcohol will ruin you financially too. See how expensive your health insurance will get when you consume both.

People in the US don’t smoke or drink alcohol, not because they hate these products. It is because they have done the math and they don’t want to get robbed by the big pharma.

Gambling on the other hand has nothing to do with your physical health (your mental health is another story) and that’s why there isn’t any entity to keep you in line other than the government and the government always ban the stuff which can’t have it under control.
1426  Economy / Economics / Re: House is a forced saving on: October 30, 2022, 05:04:12 AM
That’s true. Especially if you don’t own a place to live, getting a mortgage is the best investment you can have in the long run. The rates went too high lately but the prices ain’t coming down but eventually they will. I suggest you to wait a bit more before buying a house right away. The economy will only get worse before it gets better. Housing is the biggest expense of any middle/low class working person probably so the earlier you get rid of that cost the better it is for you.
1427  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History of Poker on: October 30, 2022, 04:55:31 AM
Poker isn’t a game. Poker is a life style.

It is the art of war.

When you play poker, you are at war with your opponents and just like in any war, you look weak when you are strong and look strong when you are weak.

1428  Economy / Economics / Re: friend I want to invest short term in bitcoin and crypto. to meet their living a on: October 29, 2022, 04:35:16 PM
a friend of mine came to me and he asked, is it possible to invest in bitcoin and crypto for the short term,? which is to meet daily needs, and I am confused to answer because I am still a beginner in bitcoin and crypto. and I want to ask everyone about it?

If he is ready to lose money yes, it is possible. You can go long or short on bitcoin and can make or lose money in a short time. However, you can go long or short on almost any financial asset or currency. Then, why choose bitcoin?

If he wants to make money by holding bitcoin then it is probably not going to be possible quickly. Getting rich by holding takes time. Is he ready to wait for more than a year? Probably not.

I think a person like your friend should stay away from crypto.
1429  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk Becomes Owner Of Twitter, Immediately Fires CEO And CFO on: October 29, 2022, 04:08:40 PM
I don’t know why he bought that source of filth of a sinking social media crap but he made the correct decision by firing them libtard morons from the company.

Maybe after firing 75% of the current staff, twitter can become free again like it used to be before going full woke.

People needed a social media platform where they can express their opinions freely and Musk wants to deliver that.

Godspeed
1430  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to DCA when BTC crashing on: October 29, 2022, 10:16:51 AM
Lets be assumed

BTC Crashing 20000$ and 15000$ maximum . From 20000$ how to DCA?

The same way when bitcoin was in a bull run.

DCA has nothing to do with prices. You buy when it is going up and you keep buying when it is going down.

If you break this text pattern then it is not DCA’ing anymore. It is timing the markets now.

Since only a few people can time the markets and the majority cannot, people do DCA instead.
1431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrency replace other currencies? on: October 29, 2022, 06:13:19 AM
It probably won’t because the other currencies are issued by the central banks and people pay their taxes using these currencies. Because of their centralized nature, national currencies are fast to transact and can handle millions of users unlike crypto. Crypto will have its place among these currencies  but won’t replace them.
Also crypto can be banned by the government and can lose its hard gained adoption in a day.
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MY FIRST BITCOIN PURCHASE. on: October 29, 2022, 05:54:43 AM
It's been nothing but JOY through out yesterday for me, as I was able to officially buy my first Bitcoin for HODL. I have been really interested in cryptocurrency lately but had no single clue of how it really works.
I then met with a friend, not just friend but a very long time friend, who have been thriving in the crypto space for guidance, and he kept giving me series of web links to go study and get back to him when done.
This is one thing I'm not really good at, which is reading for long and even writing.
I tried twice but couldn't and kept going back to him to just summarize everything and show me how to start making a living out of Bitcoin just as he was doing, but he kept referring me back to the links he sent and each time he did, I really feel bad and thought he never wanted to help me.

Two months back I took the challenge and read all he gave to me and not just once but about thrice this time, got all I needed and went back to him, but on a different note and then he told me, "WE DON'T CUT CORNERS, TO MAKING A LIVING GENUINELY." I felt that really hard and one thing he always kept singing was that I always buy Bitcoin at every opportunity that I have and today I'm so glad to announce that I was able to buy about $60 worth of Bitcoin, glad the journey of a thousand mile has began on the 28 of October 2022, And I hope it leads to greater opportunity in the industry, as I'm willing to learn ways.

Please join me celebrate my little beginning as I hope to update the community about my progress.

Congrats. Bitcoin has been making lots of people happy since its inception.

However, living out of bitcoin might be difficult from now on. I am not saying it is impossible but the growth may not make you that happy. Maybe you can double or triple your money but will that be enough for you? That would make lots of people happy but I am not sure about you.

You should probably consider the other investment options too if you are aiming to get retired.

If you are thinking about becoming a trader, then that's whole another story. The growth potential there is simply limitless.
1433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why btc cannot move pow to pos on: October 29, 2022, 05:17:43 AM
This question comes, Do btc network can move to POW to POS?
I am just asking and there is a issue that electricity bill too. Energy problem is most hottest topic all now. so lets discuss this

Who said it can't?

BTC very well may move to PoS.

But this decision requires consensus. If the user base and the miners accept this change then it will happen.

In my opinion, this would happen only when we hit a wall with PoW. When PoW leaves us with no room to expand then people will take PoS more seriously. That will probably happen in the future but probably not in the next 5-10 years.

As long as mining is sustainable, miners will continue to mine.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler who betrayed his friend's trust on: October 29, 2022, 05:14:26 AM
To build trust on someone takes time and  sacrifice, you have someone that you trust so much because they know this, they end up disappointing you in a way that might be unforgivable because of money.

There are two friends Kelvin and Charles, they have similar likes and have being gambling and predicting results of matches together. One day Kelvin and Charles studied a game together for some days and finally, it was the game day,so these two friends instead of playing separately decided to put their money together to bet big so that the win will also be bigger.

LoL what? Gambling don't work that way unless the provider changes the odds when you wager more.

They should have wagered separately.

I didn't even have to read the rest of the story because I can already guess what happened.

When it is about money, trust only yourself and no one else. That's a solid life lesson for whoever lost money in this story.
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Man Won $51,000 in Sports Betting With a Bet of Just $1.072 on: October 28, 2022, 04:43:25 AM
In some parts of the world $50k means nothing. So whether you talk about your winnings or not make no difference. If that Nigerian man still lives in Africa, then yes he should keep his mouth shut because African countries are not the richest countries in the world and the crime rate in those countries are pretty terrible. In the US though, many people make $50k in 6-7 months it is not a big deal at all. Nobody will care or murder you for that money.
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Consider the Price of Bitcoin to be More Important than its Purpose? on: October 27, 2022, 08:15:10 PM
Depends.

Depends on how you use bitcoin.

If you are an investor, price is all that matters. Obviously crypto adoption is a very important thing which drives the prices up or down but so is the FED's decisions. In the end it is the price the investor is ultimately interested in, nothing else.

If you use bitcoin as a medium of exchange as a consumer or a business owner, then you have the option to convert your crypto to FIAT instantly. Big credit card companies have these products if I remember it right. Bitpay does that for the merchants too. You don't even get any crypto, you just see the $$$ in your bank account and bitpay or the similar 3rd parties do the work for you. If that's the case then you have no business with the crypto prices.
1437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question to players: what does really drive you crazy in an online casino? on: October 27, 2022, 06:09:01 PM
Random KYC and long withdrawal times are the most disgusting stuff I can imagine.

Some casinos do KYC especially when a player wins. They don't care as long as you are losing but when you win, boom, a wild KYC appears. If you don't want to share your passport with a bunch of stragers then, boom, you are out of luck, the casino can freely seize your money and you can't do shit because it is in their T.O.S. and you should have read it before you decided to play there.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Why We Prefer Online Casinos to Land-based Casinos on: October 27, 2022, 08:53:55 AM
There's a reason we visit our favourite online casino more than the land-based casino, whether next door or a couple of blocks away. There is a reason we recommend our favourite online casinos to friends. In this short article, I will highlight some of the reasons why online casino games are becoming popular. Lastly, I hope users will also share their thoughts on this.

...

Laziness is the biggest reason for the most of us.

Getting dressed and going outside needs you to spend time on these too. Also when you get out of your home you don't do just gambling. You eat, drink, buy silly stuff... Going out is way costlier than staying home.

When you are home, you go to kitchen, get your favorite snacks and have fun in front of your computer. You can have your fun even naked. No need to do any preparations at all.

1439  Economy / Economics / Re: Almost 50% of Gen Z and Millennials want crypto in retirement funds: Survey on: October 27, 2022, 05:01:22 AM
Gen Z and millenials are not stupid. They see the current financial system is failing and only crypto can replace it. That's why they want to have crypto in their retirement accounts. When they get old, these accounts will usually be their only source of income and because crypto assets have been the best performing asset of this decade, they want a piece from this action. Only if boomers were this wise too, then the price of a coin would be at $100k+ but no worries. It is their loss. Crypto will prosper with or without the boomers.
1440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think China will lose by banning Bitcoin? on: October 25, 2022, 06:22:28 AM
I am bullish on the future of Bitcoin as a technology.

We all know that China has a total ban on cryptocurrencies, including but not limited to no mining, no circulation, no trading, no banking services, no listing on exchanges.

What do you think countries have to lose by making this choice?

They drive away investors basically. All those jobs the crypto industry created is now not existent in China. Banning crypto creates more unemployment. More unhappy people. Unhappy people don't like their rulers and usually riot. Riots create fights and fights create deaths.

We can safely say banning crypto kills people. And who is responsible?

Whoever banned crypto.

Murderers.
