441  Economy / Goods / Gold for 0.5BTC Casascius Coin on: September 14, 2013, 01:07:58 AM
Anyone who knows anything about the precious metals market knows that gold has recently taken a small dive. Of course it is impossible to predict the future, but I work at a coin store, talk to a  lot of people, and the consensus seems to be that Gold will be $1500/oz by the end of the year.

That being said, I would like to trade a Mexican Dos Pesos coin (an original, not a restrike-so it also has some numismatic value) for a 0.5 Casascius coin. If anyone wants to take me up on this offer, please PM me. If not now, I bet someone will find this post once gold has in-fact gone up and will take me up on the offer.

442  Economy / Goods / Re: Service: Selling BTC Gift Certificates on: September 14, 2013, 01:00:58 AM
I am going to start selling BTC Gift Certificates, so that you may give them as gifts to family and friends during the holiday season, or for any reason.

The gift certificates will have a BTC address on them, as well as the password to the wallet, and instructions on how the person receiving the btc can access their wallet, and how to change their password.  I am doing this because I want to be able to contribute, and also because I think it will be a challenge for me to do.

The cost of the gift certificates will be the current price of btc, plus 3.00 for shipping.  I have not been able to upload pics of the certificate yet, but will do so if anyone might be interested.

This is very low tech on my end, and I agree that most people have no use for this.  It gives me something to do, while browsing the forum.  Be nice please.
There was a period of time where people might have bought something like this. The truth is, though, that you can't and should not trust ANYONE with your private key (except maybe Casascius). It is quite easy to make your own bitcoin gift certificates-and they are 100% SAFE! If you do not know how and would like to find out, PM me.
443  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Local San Diego: Silver Eagle Monster Boxes (no coins) and Cigar Boxes on: September 14, 2013, 12:35:43 AM
Hey fellow San Diegans,

First of all, I have much more quantity of each than you see pictured. Anyways, I have some things I know there is demand for, but shipping them would be cost prohibitive.

I have a bunch of empty Green Monster Boxes from the Treasury Dept. Most (I think all) are 2013s (labeled), from the San Francisco and West Point Mint. They contain everything but the tubes (although, I do have 1 tube). The empty tubes are ridiculously overpriced (check eBay). There are plenty of generic tubes for sale all over the internet and in coin shops with the same dimensions as Monster Box tubes, for probably less than $1/piece. I use those and a Monster Box to store my rounds. Anyways, asking /box. Willing to sell at discount for quantity buying.

I also have more Cigar Boxes than I know what to do with. They are all beautiful. Most are wooden. If you have a brand in mind I can probably find something for you. Asking /box for these. Again, willing to discount for quantity buying.

I am in the Clairemont/Pacific Beach area. I can travel if its worth it. If you come to me I might hook you up a bit w/discount prices. PM me w/what you're interested in (and quantity), where you're located, and we can go from there.

Thanks!

444  Other / Off-topic / Re: Boob Job! BTC funded Breast Implants? on: September 13, 2013, 11:50:07 PM
The 'other' site I mentioned lets the recipients thank the donators via pm, photos, private chats etc.
A little too 'sleazy' if you ask me....

We're not talking about a porn site here.

...essentially everyone is donating whatever they wish, and in return they will be part of the journey, something like this for example;
- introduction on the website of the recipient and explanation of the concept
- before the procedure photos (g-rated)
- she is a pretty girl Smiley
- a thank you message to each donator
(maybe a video from the recipient the day of surgery, just prior to...no the surgery lol)
- follow up 'status update' video
- final results photos, thank you to all the donators (personal letter or pm)

if BTC goal reached in the campaign, any additional BTC can be held for the next recipient?
(not sure exactly how to do this part)
I think if any heterosexual male is going to donate to your cause here, the pictures CAN NOT be G-Rated.
445  Other / Off-topic / How Many BTC Have You Made From "Free BTC" Type Sites? on: September 13, 2013, 11:48:44 PM
I just looked at the updated list of bitcoin faucets and similar sites that payout bitcoins for entering a captcha(sp?), watching ads, etc. I remember the days when only a few sites like this existed. The payouts (when bitcoins were worth less) were something like .0005BTC/an hour on some of the sites. I tried to remember to claim my free BTC as often as possible, but I'd forget a lot.

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone really took advantage of sites like this back when they were offering higher payouts, and if they gained a significant amount of BTC from the sites. There has to be someone...
446  Economy / Service Discussion / What ever happened to "printcoins.com"? on: September 13, 2013, 11:35:08 PM
I used to love that site. It made making paper wallets incredibly easy. I also wanted to buy some of their Ron Paul notes, but when I tried the other day (and today) to visit the site, I found out it doesn't exist anymore. Anyone know anything?

448  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Honus Wagner Baseball Card, Lewis, Plank and Magie-Pics Auction 0.01 BTC on: September 13, 2013, 12:32:49 AM
Did no one read that book as a kid? There are like 4 real Honus Wagner cards. Cigarette companies did make cards with players on them, but Honus Wagner was so opposed to smoking that he said he didn't want any with him on there produced. When I say 4 I mean literally. It is THE baseball card. I'm sure you can find that anywhere online.

The card has its own Wikipedia page!

449  Economy / Goods / [WTS: Silver] Numismatic Coins for Silver Content/Value! on: September 12, 2013, 04:09:13 AM
Hi everybody,

I'm trying to sell some of the numismatic coins I have that do not far exceed their silver value. Some are only dollars over. Its a really good opportunity to buy a cool, collectible coin and secure a good amount of silver for yourself at the same time. You could also flip them on eBay or something if you wanted (I have them priced lower cause I'm seeking some BTC). If you are interested in a particular coin or coins, please PM me. Prices include shipping anywhere in the USA. If you are international, let me know-I am willing to ship to you.

I reserve the right to ask different prices based on the highly volatile silver and bitcoin markets.

Anyways, here is the list:

1. 1908 German State Bavaria Drei Mark: 16.667 grams, 90% Ag [RARE: <http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=otto+koenig+von+bayern+drei+mark&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xbavaria+drei+mark&_nkw=bavaria+drei+mark&_sacat=0>]
2. 1928 Austria Ein Schilling: 7.68 grams, 64% Ag
3. 1933 France 20 Francs: 20 grams, 68% Ag
4. 1956 Mexico Diez Pesos: 28.88 grams, 90% Ag SOLD!
5. 1908 O Barber Half Dollar: 12.5 grams, 90% Ag SOLD!
6. 1923 S Peace Dollar: 26.73 grams, 90% Ag SOLD!
7. 1957 CHOICE Proof Washington Quarter: 6.25 grams, 90% Ag  (Proof Sets were not largely available for purchase by regular American citizens until the 1960's. Earlier proofs go for a lot! In the beginning it was primarily Department of the Treasury workers who bought Proof Sets. SOLD!

note: The Barber Half and Peace Dollar are bright and shiny, the lighting is just off; check below.

452  Other / Off-topic / Guide: SAFELY Removing Tarnish From/"Cleaning" Coins/Bullion (Silver) on: September 09, 2013, 04:54:07 AM
You have probably heard "Do not clean coins!". This is very true in that you should not use ANY abrasive method/chemicals to clean your coins. This includes stuff like steel wool, Brasso, etc. However, there is a "safe" way to remove the tarnish from/getting your silver looking good again that is accepted as "safe" by even serious coin collectors.
It really does a lot to make your coin/bullion look good. The steps are as follows:
1. Get a glass bowl/pan.
2. Lay down aluminum foil along the bottom
3. Place your coins/bullion pieces on top
4. For a normal sized glass bowl (adjust accordingly-it doesn't have to be incredibly precise), add 3 teaspoons of baking soda, 3 teaspoons of table salt
5. Heat up distilled water to a point just above steaming.
6. Pour it into the bowl/pan such that it covers the coins/bullion 1/2-1cm.
7. Watch the tarnish literally disappear before your eyes
8. Flip the coins/bullion over after about 10 minutes
9. After 10 more minutes, take the coins out and put them into a bowl of room temperature distilled water.
10. If the coins/bullion still have salt/baking soda remnants on them, rinse them with distilled water till its all gone.
11. Make sure all salt/baking soda particles are gone (they could be abrasive) and lay out/dry your coins with a soft paper towel.
12. If you want to clean them further, use only dish soap and your finger to scrub. Non-abrasiveness is key.
13. Your coins/bullion should be looking a lot better!
453  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver Rounds / Ingots on: September 08, 2013, 10:14:27 AM
So about $30/ea (including shipping: $1.69)? Any quantity discounts? Spot is hovering between $22-$23 ATM so price seems a little high...these are just generic pieces.

Nearly $24 on friday's close.  These didn't come out of the Spot+$1.50 bucket of your BST.  Fresh .999 in fresh packaging.

Domestic shipping includes insurance and tracking... A wee bit higher than $1.69.  If you want non-tracked, not insured - I'll provide a receipt copy showing I mailed a correct-weight package to your zip code at some agreeable discount.

Buy 100 and I'll drop them .006BTC.

Seriously not trying to come off as an asshole/know it all, etc. Generic silver is generic silver. What isn't generic silver? Things like national bullion pieces (Silver Eagles, Libertads, Maple Leafs, etc). Where I work, the ugliest of 1oz silver bars sells for the same price as one still in the plastic.

And questioning things like the authenticity of an item are good, but they can also be damning to a seller. Bars DO come packaged like this from a variety of mints.
454  Economy / Goods / Re: Anonymous reloadable Visa plastic cards [3years validity] on: September 08, 2013, 01:14:45 AM
Reloadable cards require some sort of registration, usually involving a SSN. How do these work?
455  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1oz Bronze Bitcoins for Sale (75% copper) on: September 08, 2013, 01:12:43 AM
Guys.. not to alarm anyone.. But I think this asshole tried this scam and was successful once already: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=267297.0
DO NOT SEND BTC TO THIS ASSHOLE.

Oi dickhead, you cant just run around and yell SCAM SCAM SCAM.  It's a good way to ruin the reputation of someone trying to make a living.

These people have already posted saying they received their coins...

I received my coins today. Smiley Thanks a lot they look fantastic.

Pull your head outa your arse MYRKLE and apologise, or delete your post.

Offering up to 100 NWT Mint Ingots in Factory Plastic - .24BTC each

Known escrow accepted buyer pays fee.   I'll consider going first on small transactions for a very select few Hero Members - bring a verifiable resume or a trust thread with some content.

Offers not accepted at this time - price is firm and includes shipping.

So about $30/ea (including shipping: $1.69)? Any quantity discounts? Spot is hovering between $22-$23 ATM so price seems a little high...these are just generic pieces.

And the new thread will be self moderated.
Wish the forums had the feature like Facebook to "Like" certain posts. Anyways, if it did I'd give your post one.

Self Moderated sales thread = Spoken like a true person who doesn't want people to be able to read the accusations and precaution warnings.
459  Economy / Collectibles / [WANT TO BUY] Your Redeemed Casascius Coins for my Silver on: September 07, 2013, 10:45:50 AM
Hey everyone,
I have made a couple of posts like this in the past. This one is different though because I realized putting a price for just (redeemed) Casascius coins was impractical. There is geographic location, which rounds you have, what condition they're in, etc.

But hey-if you have some redeemed coins laying around, just send me a message w/all your info and I'll make you a more than fair offer for them (in Silver in about every form you could want). "Estimates" (lol) are free!

Thank you!
460  Other / Off-topic / Re: SCAM ALERT: Johnniewalker's Bags of Cash on: September 06, 2013, 07:19:03 AM
From dictionary.com:
1. assay:   to subject (a substance, such as silver or gold) to chemical analysis, as in the determination of the amount of impurity

Running an assay on a picture? Is that a joke? If not, can you do an assay of one of the animal parts available in the Marketplace for me?
Who are you and who is your friend?
So I can call bullshit on any thread and have it moved to "scam accusations"?
Good to know.
Losing respect for these forums day by day, SMH.
