441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which old coin do you prefer? Litecoin or Dogecoin? on: October 21, 2023, 12:46:07 PM
Dogecoin is quite familiar among altcoins but since it was a meme coin, many don't see it as a great choice, especially for long-term investment. But considering these two options, I see that more people will vote for Dogecoin over Litecoin. This is how Elon Musk influenced the minds of the people who thought that he would drive Dogecoin too high just like what he did before.

We usually look at which one is more profitable but not its function which is why more people consider Dogecoin as their choice because of the possible hyped that strikes again.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: October 21, 2023, 11:41:13 AM
Stanionis is undefeated with a good knock out record but not experienced enough to beat Thurman I thought Thurman was going to fight Claressa in an exhibition match, well this is the fight where Thurman will prove to Claressa that he is a dangerous fighter so she will stop pestering him.
It should be enough because Thurman is a championship-level fighter, while Stanionis is relatively unknown and hasn't had significant fights against well-known opponents. The contrast here is clear, and I personally feel that this fight isn't what I expected. I thought Thurman would have the opportunity to face a more popular fighter.

Stanionis has never fought a fighter as tough as Thurman, so this is his acid test as a champion, checking his fight highlights he is good but he has fought fighters that cannot be considered top rank so this is the fight that will define him if he deserves to a real champion.
I still consider Crawford, Spence, and Ennis as the top names in the welterweight division.

Indeed, Thurman's recent fights haven't been against popular boxers. It seems like a big step down, especially considering that one would expect him to face opponents at the top of the rankings. I was personally hoping to see him fight someone like Spence, but with the rematch activated, or perhaps Ennis.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 21, 2023, 08:37:30 AM
By the way, has this news been reported here already?

Robert Bolick, Firebonds part ways

The reason for his decision is that his wife is pregnant, and he wants to be with her always. This situation could potentially open up opportunities for other PBA teams to acquire Bollick when he decides to return to the league.

This showed up in my social media newsfeed, Bolick is going back to the Philippines. His stint with the Japan B2 League was short-lived due to the fragility of his wife's pregnancy that he must always by her side which he can't because of the "home and away" format of that league.

The question here is who will get Bolick? Will PBA teams will do a "Slaughter thing" on him?

Or he will land to the TNT Katropa who is in dire need of a point guard to replace the troublesome Mikey Williams hehe.

That's the best move he should make right now. I believe Mikey Williams' fee could be on par with Bollick's, considering they are both star players. However, I'd argue that Bollick might be more valuable to the team since he's versatile, capable of shooting from outside, and skilled in attacking as well. Joining TNT might reduce his burden compared to his previous team in the PBA, where he had to carry the team on his shoulders. Who knows, he might secure his first championship with TNT, so if the offer comes his way, I think he wouldn't turn it down.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Price Surges and Drops Unexpectedly on: October 20, 2023, 09:01:25 PM
This is a game played by market makers, and we will undoubtedly have to endure such fake news in the future. There's no doubt anymore, and this is the phase where the whales are accumulating. They are generating false information to create frustration among investors, and in some cases even worse news, to buy tokens at extremely low prices. This is the time for investors to acquire their favorite tokens. Don't miss the opportunity in the last months of 2023, and 2024 is the time for us to take profits
You can think of manipulation but this is how the volatility looks like and I was certain that we know that already.
The price of Bitcoin is just like a roller coaster it dumps and pumps for some reason that is why we make ourselves ready for it and not get affected by the price movement. This is normal in the crypto space, we saw the price of Bitcoin pump today but never expect that it remain the same tomorrow as it certainly be changing its course. But guess what, the volatility of the market is a reason why we earn a profit here and attract more traders.
445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You are also like them? on: October 20, 2023, 08:03:37 PM
Watching these YouTuber 'technical analysts' is like witnessing a comedy show. They just scribble lines on a Bitcoin chart and act like they're gazing into a crystal ball. But the reality is, they're about as accurate as a broken clock – right only twice a day. It's laughable how they sell this snake oil, predicting the future with squiggly lines. I wouldn't bet a Satoshi on their so-called insights!
YouTubers have been known for their influential powers and attention grabber but if we talk about analysis and prediction, no way they know it nor believe them. That is why we don't just follow them easily but rather make verification first because many of these YouTubers have been paid for certain tasks like promotions and ads. We should not fall into them of whatever they speak, some of them are liars and full of jokes. Sometimes they give reviews but honestly, don't have any experience in crypto.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 20, 2023, 11:10:41 AM

There's one thing sure for Poole this season – he'll likely make it to the All-Star game, and that will probably make him happy. Finally, he isn't living in the shadow of a superstar. With Beal already out, he has the chance to shine. This is what he wants, and let's see if he can lead this team to the playoffs. If he succeeds, there's no doubt a max contract will be waiting for him.

A few players are only given this kind of chance and he really needs to take advantage of it and not become lazy because he was cast out by his team whom he helped to win the championships. Therefore, if he could make it to the playoffs with his current teammates, then they really need to take him for that because they are no longer capable of doing that since Beal isn't around anymore.

The Wizards are likely in a rebuilding phase. Their best times were when John Wall and Beal played together, and although they didn't reach the finals, they were a consistent playoff team. Now, with Poole's time, it seems like he doesn't have as much support. It's his time to lead, and we'll finally get to see his true potential now that he isn't living in the shadow of the Warriors' big three.

Quote
He needs to make it his team and use every opportunity to make them realize that they throw the wrong player out.
He couldn't have done that; the Warriors made a well-thought-out decision. If only Poole had a strong playoff performance last season, he probably wouldn't have been traded. Unfortunately, he showed the opposite of what he displayed during their championship run, and that left the team with no choice but to trade him.

It seems like both sides are content, and it appears to be a win-win situation.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 20, 2023, 10:04:55 AM

Also, there's another problem as Pogoy has been reported in the past to have a rare heart condition. Most likely, he'll also miss the season. This situation gives SMB a significant advantage, so I'm leaning towards betting on them to win.

TNT finds itself in a tough situation with two of their reliable players unlikely to play in the coming season. Even though they have a solid import in RHJ, it's hard to imagine them making it to the Finals with the absence of two starters. The season hasn't started yet, but it seems TNT is already practicing. The fact that Mikey Williams hasn't shown up indicates he may not be interested in playing for the team anymore. So, perhaps TNT should stop waiting for him.

By the way, has this news been reported here already?

Robert Bolick, Firebonds part ways

The reason for his decision is that his wife is pregnant, and he wants to be with her always. This situation could potentially open up opportunities for other PBA teams to acquire Bollick when he decides to return to the league.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 19, 2023, 09:35:44 PM
Why? It is because Dogecoin and Shiba Inu have been a huge influence on the minds of the people as they have witnessed hype that gives a huge profit to the investors. It followed with Pepe coins that also created a massive impact on the market bringing more attention and this - people now have been waiting for another meme coin hype. That is why every time there are new meme coins, they get crazy.
Well, I could say that this year is the year of meme coins but just like before, it has never been a sustainable project, it dumps and never rises again.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: October 19, 2023, 02:24:39 PM
Just saw a video about this fight pop up on my Facebook feed, so I thought I'd check our thread here. Let's give it a little bump so it doesn't get lost. This fight is just around the corner, less than a month away, if the date hasn't changed.
Yeah, there's a solid chance we might witness another Filipino champ in the bantamweight division, so we better keep a close eye on this one. Ancajas has been on the road to recovery and is determined to regain his champion status.

The fight's in Japan, and after the controversy that went down in Casimero's match, we're hoping for a clean bout, especially since it's a championship fight. If it does go the distance, we all know who the real winner is. Jerwin's gonna have to go for that knockout to make sure he'll win.

Anyone got any new scoop on this fight? Please share the info if you've got it.

None so far, I think this fight would really push through, I'm interested on the betting odds but hasn't found a site that offers yet.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 01:55:32 PM
What do you think of this Spurs' line up?
- Wembanyama (7-4) C/F 19yrs
- Jeremy Sochan (6-8) F 20yrs
- Zach Collins (6-11) C/F 25yrs
- Devin Vassell (6-5) F/G 23yrs
- Keldon Johnson (6-5) F/G 24yrs

That looks like a scary team to be honest and they will most likely be coach Pop's regulars this upcoming season. They could even finish top of the Southwest division. I wonder how they would fare if they have a crafty veteran like Manu to lead them or a PG with CP3's caliber.

This starting lineup looks promising, but I wouldn't call them a scary team at the moment. As Natalim said above, they are still too young, and if they can reach the playoffs or at least a play-in tournament, it will be an accomplishment for them. However, I'm more than sure that Coach Pop can nurture them well as players, and who knows, maybe the Spurs will start a new dynasty with Wembanyama at the helm.
You are right; this is definitely not a scary team for now. If he can develop his body in the following years like Giannis and keep his game or even improve like KD, that would be very fortunate for the Spurs. Anyway, the regular season is near, and I can't wait to see if Wemby can live up to its reputation. This time, he will face those big men with years of experience in the NBA like Embiid, Jokic, Durant, and Giannis, to name a few.

People are hyped up about the Spurs' performance in the preseason, especially Wendy. They think this team could be a playoff contender, but we've got to keep it real - preseason is one thing, but the regular season is where it all counts. Sure, Wemby might average 20ppg per game, but he can't do it alone. He needs solid support from his teammates. If he doesn't get that support, he could easily get frustrated. To stop him, his defender has to bring their A-game, maybe even double-team him to keep him away from his sweet spots. They'll need to force him to shoot from outside. He's good at that too, but it's better than letting him stroll into the paint for an easy 2 points.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 19, 2023, 12:05:34 PM
Have seen a lot of threads talking about the bull market, and everyone making comments.
I don't think selling all bitcoin in the bull market is a good idea. Why? Knowing the fact that the next bull price will still come as bitcoin continues to grow, so I don't think selling all my bitcoin in the bull market is the best.
Everyone is holdle bitcoin in the bear market and planning to sell in the bull market, now, when finally, the bull market  comes should I sell all my bitcoins and prepare to accumulate from afresh in the next bear market again? or should I keep some percentage to continue the accumulation?
That was your decision as well and the others probably have different insights. Honestly, it is an individual decision while some are selling off their coins, some are also continuing to hold.

Selling the entire investment during the bull season is not unusual, in fact, I have done it before but I have no regrets as I double my money which I can use to buy more Bitcoin when the bull season is over. That is my strategy and I know a lot of people are doing the same. Whether it was right or wrong but as long as I make some profit during that time, I consider it a right decision.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 16, 2023, 01:51:21 PM
As the gambling industry is evolving, I think innovations would have kicked in that can make someone create a career from gambling. I do not know how this can be achieved but I feel it is possible.

Making gambling a full time job might be seen as risky but I still feel one can make gambling full time job and a career.

What do you all think?

What made you think it would work? Maybe because gambling is pretty similar with trading? And there are people who engaged into it full time. Well, there's really a big difference between these two and gambling is the most risky one.
I personally don't think it would really work.

It will not work for you but I know someone got into that level from getting into gambling as their career. We can say they are just a few while the majority seem not too lucky in gambling. Those who got thinking from getting rich in gambling are those who have not been given the chance to win either. It happens to me because the moment I gamble and think about winning, unfortunately, I'm not given a favor. That is why I don't dream of becoming a successful gambler as it looks like I don't have a chance either.
453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Use Crypto Signals? on: October 16, 2023, 12:14:53 PM
The spread of crypto signals is rampant nowadays and many people have fallen into such traps thinking that these groups of people will them to succeed.
We may say that this is good for beginners which I could agree but not bring to the point that we rely on them because nobody will give you a signal if they know what is right. They use these services just to milk innocent people and that is really gonna happen.
Paid reviews have made them great and believable in the minds of newbies but the reality is quite big opposite - they are scams.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 16, 2023, 10:00:06 AM
Personally I think before starting gambling you should make a budget and have self control. When you lose your maximum daily loss/limit simply take some fresh air and reserve it for another day.

Gambling should be taken as a side hussling that you try to get a little money from and not what to be regarded as a major source of income. The problem is bettors see gambling as a job they do and that is why they keep going back for refill after they have exhausted their bankroll within their budget time.

If you don't regard gambling as a source of income then you will have that self control to hold on after your budget is exhausted with out profit and to say to truth, just few gamblers benefit in gambling.
That was a sort of influence in many gambling influences and we thought that they were talking rightly. Their convincing offers and shows make more believe that spending more money on gambling makes them rich. Now, more and more people become a gambler because of such a mindset - getting rich instantly from winning the jackpot prize without realizing that it is less possible to happen in real life.

Some of my friends and neighbors are addicted to the lottery but until now, they don't have a chance to win.
455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if the internet permanently shuts down on: October 16, 2023, 09:38:55 AM

I love bitcoin, so i sometimes wonder if there's anything that can affect or stop it's usage, the only thing i see is the internet. So if internet can not be shutdown, then there's nothing stopping bitcoin as a digital decentralized currency.
Perhaps, you love it so stop thinking about it but rather believe that Bitcoin will even stay for a longer time instead of thinking of its fall.
The Internet era has come and such a great development contributed a lot - lifestyle and we live comfortably. People have already valued the importance of the internet so therefore, I don't see any reason why it will stop.

Might the use of Bitcoin and its existence be over but if we talk about the internet, that is way impossible knowing that it already plays a very important role in the community.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 16, 2023, 06:35:52 AM
We've got endless arguments and discussions about it as just a source of entertainment. There's no debate with that because all of us are enjoying when we gamble but it differs when the results vary as per gambler.

Yes, no debates about it as a chance of game if you play the games that you solely rely on luck. But there are some games that don't wholly rely on it because you're still the one to decide whether to test your odds of winning or not.
That is right and we don't have complaints granting that is really how it works. Gambling is just really for fun but it looks like some gamblers thought this as a source of income. And this is the reason why they get hard accepting when losing.

While luck never be with us all the time, why not choose sports betting which literally doesn't require luck alone but also knowledge and skill? We could say that gamblers have their own preferred games, in fact, some will choose the lottery knowing that their chance is very slim, yet they still do it.

But what if you guys win and you just wanna have fun, what you'd do with the money?

I used to save some for the next day.
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only property I have is bitcoin on: October 15, 2023, 11:49:23 AM
> should I show my family my seed phrase ?
> If I die who will take over my bitcoin since nobody knows my seed phrase?

So I'm asking if it will be good to show any of your family person your seed phrase or should we keep having the secret of your seed phrase personal.

Telling your family is a good thing, because of course your investment is for the family so it would be very stupid if the investment you made was passed on to the family but when you are no longer there your family can't enjoy it because you never told them about the Bitcoin investment you made . However, many people invest in Bitcoin, not like property that will be held for decades, so it could be that before you leave this world, you have sold it and only inherited it in fiat, not Bitcoin, because in fact no one knows for sure what will happen to Bitcoin in the tens years ahead because technology is always developing and changing.
They deserve to know that even though we can say that they can't be trusted to manage it, of course, it is meaningless for our investment if no one will inherit it. As we passed by, it was a problem to the one who inherited and it's up to them how to manage it or they converted it to fiat money and start a business. Besides, we can't expect them to follow in our footsteps because whether we like it or not, not all of our family members will understand.
458  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading on your own vs social trading and copy trading on: October 15, 2023, 10:42:37 AM
I think that by trading on my own I am just overtrading...I am looking for options to get trading ideas/trading signals etc to analyze those ideas and select only the best ones.
What options does one have to view trading ideas/signals from other professional traders?

Perhaps, you'll be in your decision which you think was easy for you and you think the way it helps for you to earn profit.
Because for me, I've been in trading on my own and I feel I can breathe easily knowing that all of my decisions are in my mind. We can seek assistance from others but we should not think that we can rely on them for a long time.

And talking about copy trading - seems to be a good way when starting to trade but can't just keep it for long as this won't bring success. Better work on your own and apply all the learning that you have.
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sweat coin. Is this real? on: October 15, 2023, 07:56:59 AM
I also receive text daily from unknown people on telegram, most of them found me from others telegram channels where i joined. They use to send scam/fake text as well as phishing about airdrops, free altcoins giveaway etc. I just ignore them. Solid project team will never ask about fee from you as such way for make a transaction! Moreover if they can give you 480$ worth altcoins then 20/30$ fee isn't a big deal. Hope you already got that, the coin you mentioned isn't pure or you should rather ask Sweat Economy community for verification. If you are a winner, then there should be an announcement about it on their Social media channels
That will imply how important of not to trust strangers too quickly. Social media, especially telegram has been a medium of scams, it was easy to use known names and even make use of fake profiles.
Yes, those legit platforms or projects will never be asking any amount from their investors for transaction fees.
And what I think about Sweat Coin, we'd likely get sweat when we invest in this project. Only believe those projects that have use cases, not those that just promise huge ROI.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: October 15, 2023, 04:24:03 AM
Another good card is added to this fight,  Emanuel Navarrete vs Robson Conceicao added to Shakur Stevenson card in November.

Just a couple of months ago, Navarette fought Oscar Valdez and beat him. So it's really surprising that he will have another fight in about 2 months against Robson. And as per odds right now, Conceicao is a huge underdog at 6:1.

And I do agree with the odds, Navarette is riding high on his conquest against the favorite Oscar Valdez and Valdez already beat Conceicao, although others says it's controversial. But with Navarette's volume punching, I think it will just be a matter of time before he landed that one big punch to put Robson in the canvass. Or it will be a dominating win by Navarette as the referee will seen enough and stop the fight.

The fight is already good to be a main event, but being on the undercard is fine, especially for fans who enjoy more entertaining fights. Fighting just two months after winning sounds impressive; it seems like Navarrete didn't sustain any damage in the previous fight, or his work ethic is just perfect. Well, who can deny money and fame, right? So let's give it to him. Besides, his opponent is probably a downgrade for Valdez, so it should be easy for him.

Correct, the Navarette vs.Conceicao could be a main event itself. But I guess the promoters find it good idea to have a great exposure if they will be on the undercard of this fight. For sure, because if Navarette has sustained some damaged against Valdez, he could be just resting away and might be thinking of fighting next year after the holidays.

But in true Mexican fashion, he has recovered from that one side beating he gave Valdez, and maybe still fresh from that bout and take on another great challenger in Robson. So still plenty of time for Navarette to prepare against Conceicao and I'm anticipating another classic war between this two, same with the main event in Stevenson vs De Los Santos.

I went through the records of Robson Conceicao, who is from Brazil. He has 17 wins and only 8 KOs among those wins. Additionally, he's not undefeated, so he seems like a significant downgrade from Navarrete's previous opponent. This will be an opportunity to see how Navarrete works his way to secure an impressive win. I haven't seen the fight highlights of Conceicao yet, but judging from his record, I'd say there isn't much to expect from him.

Hopefully, he'll manage to pull off a surprise.
