China only buys like $120 billion from us , so in the long run tarrifs hurt them more.  They will have to come to the table by mid 2019.
First the tariffs hurts US consumers who have no domestically produced alternatives to choose from.
The reduced consumption will hurt US retailers before they hurt Chinese producers.

I's a comical misconception that China will pay the tariffs to the US government Cheesy
See it as a 25% sales tax instead...

Grey importing Chinese goods trough Taiwan, or even Europe?
I work for myself and what I do is a physically demanding job and what I see is the problems is Americans are lazy now people don't even want to get off their ass to grocery shop now plus everyone wants to make $100 a hr and sit on theirs ass to do it with the best benefits and 200 days paid off shit is out of control we don't produce anymore cause no one wants to work thats the problem its not China or Vietnam, I can't even find a 18 yr old kid that want's to do anything besides plant their face into a cell phone or ps4
americans actually work more than other first world countries , more hours etc

Well if it hurts producers then thats good , a single suply chsin partner is bad buisness in the long run, india and southern africa has some skilled labor , how about they diversify thier supply chains so thst china doesn’t carry such a big stick when it comes to manufacturing.  Yeah it could take 10 years but well worth it in the long run.

personally if producers of stuff like gpus and solar panels try to pass up thier tarrif costs to me ill just buy from locally made brands or buy used gear with no tarrif footprint.

Im not a fan of trump but im even lesss a fan of the chinese dominace of the tech sector from a production stantpoint.

case in point 90 percent of asics are made there
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Check your Electric Bill on: September 23, 2018, 07:26:41 PM
us buys 500 billion worh of goods a year from china , that excludes manufacturing stuff like tvs, iphones, gpus vr gear etc.

China only buys like $120 billion from us , so in the long run tarrifs hurt them more.  They will have to come to the table by mid 2019.

Thats when Ill buy my solar array
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Check your Electric Bill on: September 23, 2018, 07:19:59 PM
but now with the tarrif bull shit its up to $13k

25% tariff will be a blast, finally US residents will feel how to be ****** by its own government. RX 580 which was $250 now will be $300. Mid card gpus in the usa will start at $300 hehe, used to be $150, gold age done for.

RTX 2080ti founders edition from $1299 to $1699 hehe
um tarrifs don’t afect amd and nvidia bro, they only affect chinese companies, its like apple they got an exmeption even though all thier phones are made in china , but they are North america compaines so no tarrifs get applied.

 https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timeinc.net/fortune/2018/09/17/trumps-china-tariffs-wont-affect-apples-watch-airpods-products

now trump is a psycho and could back slide but i think the bigger danger is china impoaing some sort. of tax to punish us buyers and pressure trump

Long time miners have always know about summer vs winter rates, its typical

your sumner rates are actually not bad.  I pay .08 in winter and .13 to .15 in summer
I twns to shut down in the summer.

Next summer i go solar so i can keep mining

That's a wise decision over there.
Mining is not bad at all especially if you're not paying electricity bill at the end of the month.
You just have to shell out money at the start, but, that's a very good investment there.
Solar panels can be used within your lifetime.

Actually, why wait until summer to go solar?

The sun comes out all year round and even if there is less sun, it is still always profitable to have solar. But like what the OP of this thread pointed out, make sure you do the proper calculations and have a backup plan. You can't setup a solar farm only to end up without something to mine next year. The power generated by your panels would be useless if unused (some governments don't allow you to sell back to the grid).
I would man but i have a few issues:

- I have an insurance claim on my roof, so theres no point to installing solar and then having to take it down to get the new shingles on.
-I want to install the panels my self , I got a qout from alibaba for 100 300 watt panels for $10k and that included everything like the connectors an inverters but now with the tarrif bull shit its up to $13k

The new fork is said to lower fpga by more then 50 percent. Maybe 75 percent.

So 14kh May drop to 7kh or even 3.5 kh

While a gpu should drop 10 percent.

If a 500 dollar new vega does 1800 hashand drops to 1600 hash it is not bad

If a 3000 dollar FPGA drops from 14000 hash to 7000 hash or maybe 3500 hash then gpus will recover.

This is a big fork. If the hash rate does not drop a lot the xmr will lose out

So good to know that at least one of the coins - Monero is listening to their community, miners to support them and the GPU mining. All my rigs are pointed towards Monero for quite a while now and if anyone checks the price then you will see that Monero has been very stable whereas BTC, ETH and other cryptocurrencies had a really hard time, Most disappointing was ETH.

what pool do you mine too, Nano pool seems to pay consistently way less that calcuators say.  Like
20 to 30 percent less
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining performance of Nvidia RTX 2080 Series on: September 22, 2018, 07:21:08 AM

.

power usage is 20 percent less across all algos on the 2080 rtx. , for lomg term
miners who already are in the green and are looking to future proof thier farms the rtx is definitely an
option.  The key is not to fomo buy.  Wait a few weeks or months for prices to at least be $700 per card no more
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥 NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2080 Mining Performance (multi algo test vs GTX 1080) on: September 21, 2018, 09:58:13 PM
But why comapre it against 1080 and not 1080ti? Your review sucks.

We wanted to compare it to the same model of an earlier generation. 2080Ti has been delayed by a week. As soon as I get hold of one a full 1080Ti vs 2080Ti test will be performed. Wink
pricewise, RTX 2080 is against GTX 1080 ti. It makes sense to compare it to both GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 ti.

Yeah this reviewer must not be a miner , this is not  a GAMING site dude, we don't give a fuck about anything thats not related to how much two cards cost in relation to each other and in relation to Hash/$

You job as a reviewer here is to test the shiny new 2080 against the next best lower gen card which is again * drum roll* $200 dollars cheaper, what we would me more interested in is how much power

does a 2080 use vs the card closest to it in price performance : Vega 64 and 1080TI  maybe even a 1070TI is you wanted to go crazy.

Nice effort but I will wait for a real review.

why are u testing it against a 1080 ?

you should be testing it against a 1080TI , the 1080TI NIB is like $200 cheaper and anyone with half a brain would buy that over 1080

Nice info

CPU hash rate is dropping by alot too which is good, since allot of of web browers are hijaked to run cn7 right now

2080Ti does 48MH. It costs [at least] $1200

1080Ti does 50-55 MH and can be obtained for less than $500.

You do the math. It’s like buying a Titan for mining. Makes no sense. And all reports so far shows the 2080ti uses MORE power than a 1080ti. So it’s not any more power efficient.

What i’d Like to know is what memory speed was used to get 48MH. Is that stock or with a memory overclock?

The 1080ti has the edge because of the ETHLargement Pill. Will a pill be created and offered for the GDDR6 RTX cards? We don’t know yet. And all of this can change if a pill does pop up for it. But I’m guessing no, not for free.
a NIB 1080ti is $699 at the cheapest , maybe $649 , where do these $500s come from, and don’t say used , only
a fool would buy a 3 year old card about to come out of waranty for $500
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Estimated Hash Rates for the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti on: September 20, 2018, 06:32:58 AM
Would it be worth to upgrade from 1080ti?

for gamer it sure

for miner i dont think so

I think it's too early to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of new video cards. To begin with, we need to know the hasrate and power consumption on different algorithms, and then we can make a desition.
the 2080 seems the same speed as a 1080ti with 24% less power consumption
that might be worth the $150 premium
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETN mobile mining. on: September 20, 2018, 05:35:56 AM
Does this mining is real using device processing power, or just simulation mining?

Many threads have been made for this topic, about ETN mobile "mining". And from what I see here, you knew about it, and for some other reason, you ask (again) here. Your question has answered above.

haha yah the fact that he even ponders if its simulation mining pretty much gives it away that he already knew.  I'm pretty sure when you install the app it also is extremely clear that it is not actually mining.  That said, I have 2 androids mining in 24/7.  "hashrate" has dropped quite a bit i noticed so it might be worthwhile for anyone with an android.  It makes pennies right now, but who knows someday...

there are browser cryptonite miners though:

Read an email today from Letine about a new Lyra2Rev2 ASICS miner....

..... a 6.8GHs per box equivalent to about 100 x 1080tis

... rumored 8k-11k

https://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/dayun-zig-z1-asic-miner/

>>

With depressed BTC price now.... this is really rubbing salt to the wound....

I have powered down my AMD farm ~ around 240 x RX470s. The NVIDIA farm is still up though.

Looks like the only way to make money in mining today is ....

.... get the newest miner, mine the shit out of the miner, and sell it back to the market.

I thought you got really cheap power out there in asia ? Those rx cards still make $$ mining monero at .13 cents power even

barely just above the redline, the entire AMD farm can be replaced with only 2-3 units of A9s, and I still have to pay for the warehouse rental.

A9's cant mine monero and CN heavy tho, remeber monero is forking in a few weeks again too
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 19, 2018, 12:35:47 AM
My first day of mining when I received on 6th Sept was 0.08802152 ZEC
Today I could only get 0.05651347... 35% drop in 2 weeks!!!

I am mining on ProHashing, on ViaBTC I got 0.06173636 ZEC as yesterday.

Current Zcash Difficulty: 29,539,436.77081280
1 Day Difficulty Change: 21.18 %
7 Day Difficulty Change: 38.96 %
30 Day Difficulty Change: 114.18 %
90 Day Difficulty Change: 190.07 %

what did you expect then ? the Equihash network is relatively small and mainly run by nvidia gpus. 1 z9 mini over-clocked z9 mini = 12 * gtx 1080ti ! 190% in 90 days change is nothing. now that they sell for cheaper, you should expect something like 1900% pretty soon. those z9 minis will do MAX 1-2  $ daily at most in 2 months at most ! . mark my words come back in NOV.

well i don’t own any but thats kinda a crazy drop in profits since all gpu miners have already been pushed out so it should not be as high difficulty rises since batch 3 has just started to ship

doorstop , but first strip the fans they can be used to cool gpus rigs

A bit funny, but yes I'm doing that. One of my gpu doesn't have any fan (all the fan broke). And I just put that two fan (I got it from my old ASIC) near the gpu for cooling that gpu. And it works.
lol great minds , all my A3’s and D3’s are stripped lol
