481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whoever is running BitcoinWisdom, get your head out of your ass and update site! on: May 16, 2019, 07:02:13 AM
How hard is it to update the damn site?  DO IT!!!!!

Projects get abandoned all the time, you are not entitled to receive any updates.
Even if, say, you bought a premium membership, you still paid that to use the site as is. AFAIK, premium membership only grants you usage without ads, no promises of updates have been made.

If I look at their Twitter account, they haven't posted anything since 2015, so I really doubt that they're going to issue any updates soon.
Better just switch to something else entirely.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I need your advice - creating an article on: May 15, 2019, 04:15:15 PM
Even though coinmarketcap.com is rather popular, it might qualify as underutilized. People usually focus on marketcap and price charts, but this website can help with more than that. For instance, there is trading volume, and it's dynamics can also help to predict the price movements (when it increases significantly, get ready for a bull run, whereas if it keeps going down, be cautious). The website also has historical snapshots that help to get a bigger picture on how the market has been changing over time. Another useful thing for potential small profits  is that one can click on a chosen coin and take a look at different markets with trading pairs and prices. One can try to play on the difference between the prices on different exchanges.

Uhm I think you picked to wrong time to recommend Coinmarketcap as a good source for trading volume.
I mean they're under scrutiny for posting fake trading volume right now, so I would suggest other websites than Coinmarketcap.

Alternatively you could use CoinGecko, they've just announced that they will be taking extra measures against fake volume being displayed.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will the price of ETH be if the limit of supply is 200 million ? on: May 15, 2019, 03:29:35 PM
Just the news alone will probably raise the prices, once it's set in stone that they will implement this cap.
Over the long term it's a bit more difficult to predict what will happen.

That really depends on what happens with Bitcoin, sionce the ETH price is still hugely dependent on what Bitcoin does.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should Unit against Scam Project As a Crypto Community?? on: May 15, 2019, 03:14:54 PM
And what does this have to do with Bitcoin exactly? Altcoin discussion would have been a better fit for this topic, since you mostly talk about ICOs.
No, we don't need to 'unite' against scam projects. I mean, how would you even do that?  You can't make the majority of people do the same thing in cases like this.

Just focus on yourself, stop investing in obvious scam projects, that's already enough IMO.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptopia dead, shitcoins gone forever? on: May 15, 2019, 02:38:36 PM
I don't know, since it's all being handled by the courts wouldn't that mean that they have to pay back the assets they still hold?
Or will they be publicly selling them off to pay off their other creditors?

I'd consider those coins gone, but maybe they will pay out a portion to their users eventually.
Could take years though...
486  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Kraken Fee Credit Voucher Code? on: May 15, 2019, 02:26:36 PM
I received it today and I do not have idea why Smiley 5000 KFEE can anyone tell me why?

Huh weird, I didn't receive one, even though I've been a customer for more than 5 years.
I wonder how they decide who gets one and who doesn't...

@bermudatrian I didn't get any, is it only for inactive users in order to bring them back?
So for the loyal users using it for years even when it was in trouble for months => Nothing 😭

Yeah exactly, they should think about their existing customers too Tongue
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinGecko is introducing "Trust Score" to combat fake exchange volume on: May 15, 2019, 02:03:07 PM
coingecko issued a "trust score" feature for me this is very great feature. This feature should have been provided long time ago by all cryptocurrency market capacity service providers. because all this time some exchange markets accused providing fake market capacity and monopolized. hope this feature be an example for other to give honest market capacity without manipulation.
This fake volume issue became a big thing just recently which is why it makes sense why websites like Coingecko didn't do anything about this earlier. I do hope bigger and more popular sites like CMC take note and follow a similar route in the near future.

Well, isn't it good that they're doing something about it now?

I've pretty much switched from using Coinmarketcap to Coingecko whenever you guys made an announcement on Steemit.
It was a bit of adjusting for me, I got so used to CMC's interface, but now I actually prefer GoinGecko's interface.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will eat John McAfee's dick if BTC doesn't trade above $100K by end of 2019. on: May 15, 2019, 01:15:01 PM
Good idea, I would prepare it just as you would prepare Rocky Mountain Oysters. (bull testicles)
Seems fitting, if 2019 ends in a bull market, without hitting 100k.

I hope he'll share with you though Wink

489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How important are VIP ranks and rewards to you? on: May 15, 2019, 01:02:49 PM

For instance, if you played at a dice site with 1% house edge, that means you "lose" (are expected to lose) 0.01 BTC for every 1 BTC you wager, but if you wagered 1 BTC, you get quite a high level at some dice sites. It opens up bigger faucets, bigger rains, bigger bonuses. Granted, these can be quite small at first but cumulatively and over the long term, I've found that the bigger faucets on days I'm not depositing, the rains, etc. They all add up and help make up for the "expected losses" of house edge.

Exactly, that's why I mentioned this in the OP:

Also, do you take these VIP rewards into account when you look at the website's house edge?
I mean, if the house edge is at like 1% for dice, but you also get some additional rewards when you wager certain amounts, then the overall house edge is actually a little bit lower, right?

You do have a good point that this would probably only have a significant effect when you're at quite a high rank.
Some sites really do have great rewards if you've wagered a couple of BTC, maybe evenenough to fully offset the house-edge.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which factors influence your decision of choosing an online crypto casino? on: May 15, 2019, 12:13:27 PM
I think I've seen similar threads at other times. Maybe check some of those out as well, but yeah I understand you might want up-to-date information;
For me, I look for the following factors:

  • Speed of deposits and withdraws
  • Reputation
  • The overall aesthetics
  • Bonuses and whether they have rollover requirements (I don't like bonuses with rollover requirements)

I hope that answers your question Smiley
491  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Looking 4 Help] Bringing the next big thing to life on: May 15, 2019, 12:03:11 PM
So, if I understand it correctly, you will offer tokens through a private sale, right?

I think the most important question here is, how would your video platform work?
What sets you apart from other similar platforms and what would be your business model?

Would the platform itself also be run on the blockchain? What would you do for hosting the content? IPFS? Custom solution? Centralized hosting?
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whales = high fees on: May 15, 2019, 11:48:07 AM
Using segwit addresses definitely helps a lot and it also pays to check what kind of fee you should be paying, in order to get your transaction confirmed in X amount of time.
Most wallets will "charge" you too much fees, I've just always checked the fees manually on https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ and then I lower them, depending on how long I want to wait for confirmations.

Sometimes I really don't mind waiting a couple of hours, so at those times I can pay significantly less fees.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Arguments against XRP, the biggest shitcoin. on: May 15, 2019, 11:37:51 AM
I don't think I completely agree with your assessment.
Ripple was always very forthcoming with the fact that they were centralized, they've also been very open that they were in control of the XRP supply.

The fact that they're not centralized doesn't make it a shitcoin, that's just your personal definition you're giving it.

They have completely different business model than other forms of cryptocurrency, but that doesn't automatically make it a bad coin.
It has different use-cases, sure, I kinda view it as a link between banks and cryptocurrency.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How important are VIP ranks and rewards to you? on: May 15, 2019, 11:29:42 AM
These kind of rewards are only important to people who do a lot of betting, the highrollers.I think for them is important because it gives a boost to their gambling.

To average and casual gamblers I don't think this kind of reward is important as they are not heavy bettors. These rewards are created exactly for these high rollers and not for the average gamblers.

On some gambling websites it's really not only for the high rollers.
I mean, on Bitsler for example, you can already level up and open loot chests when you've wagered a couple of hundred dollars worth of cryptocurrency.

Same with other websites & keep in mind, if you play dice at a 1.02 multiplier, you can get there quite fast.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Consensus Make Cryptocurrency Up, Especially Ebay Will Accept Cryptocurrency on: May 14, 2019, 01:36:25 PM
Yeah, the news that Ebay will start to accept cryptocurrency came in as a huge surprise to me and we're definitely seeing the effects of that.
It's a pretty big deal, even though Ebay really isn't what it used to be.

If Amazon ever decides to accept cryptocurrency, i think we're really going to see new price levels being reached!
496  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Blockchain - based Health Care Services on: May 14, 2019, 12:04:12 PM
I don't really see what's so special about this. I mean, why do the funding through an ICO and not just seek institutional investors?
When you look at their roadmap, all they have is a proof of concept. Where's the proof that they already have a working prototype?

They just mention that "development began". What does that even mean? Could very well be 5 lines of code written...
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / How important are VIP ranks and rewards to you? on: May 14, 2019, 11:42:22 AM
Some Bitcoin gambling websites have these extensive multi-tier VIP rewards for their players.
How important is it for you that the website you play on has these?

Also, do you take these VIP rewards into account when you look at the website's house edge?
I mean, if the house edge is at like 1% for dice, but you also get some additional rewards when you wager certain amounts, then the overall house edge is actually a little bit lower, right?

I personally really like it when a website offers these additional rewards, combined with a system for ranking up.
Really adds a whole new element to your gambling experience.

What do you think?
498  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Is there any interest for a new wallet that has a time-lock feature? on: May 14, 2019, 11:08:41 AM
What are the practical scenarios for which you want to lock your coins?

Will it increase security of my coin? like somebody hacked my account and tried to move my coins so It will give me alert and movement of coin will be failed. Maybe somebody having addiction also need to lock hid coins.

Security-wise not so much I think. I mean if someone has access to your wallet, they would just write a script to automatically transfer your coins as soon as the time-lock expires.
People with addiction could really benefit from something like this, not just people with gambling addiction, but also people who have a problem with spending too much in general.

I don't really know much about the psychology behind addiction, but my gut feeling tells me that it could potentially help people to just get better at saving money.
Now, you might say that once the time-lock expires, they'll just spend it all again, but perhaps the prolonged inability to touch ones coins might 'train' them to refrain from spending if there is not such a safety mechanism in place.

In regular finance, you also have investment vehicles that disable you to touch your funds for x amount of time, i don't see why there shouldn't be at least an option for that with Bitcoin.
I mean, there already is an option, I currently create time-locks with Coinb.in myself, as Tryninja also mentioned, but the process is not really newbie-friendly.

Funny enough, I asked about this back in 2017 and Tryninja explained it to me in this topic:

499  Economy / Services / Re: [Crypto-Games.net] ★ Signature Campaign ★ Hero - Legendary[FULL] ★ on: May 13, 2019, 07:51:31 PM
In the end, it's just a huge pay difference, so I hope you understand my reasoning here.
Trust me, it's a bad decision if it's only about the pay. A campaign's reliability, management and overall experience as a participant is what matters the most I guess. But anyway, it was nice being with you in the campaign. Good luck! Smiley

Yeah for sure, I did factor that into my decision. Nothing wrong with the management here, let me be extremely clear about that.
The other campaign also has a very good manager though, so I'm not too worried about that Wink

It was nice being with you in the campaign, also the rest of the guys!
500  Economy / Services / Re: [Crypto-Games.net] ★ Signature Campaign ★ Hero - Legendary[FULL] ★ on: May 13, 2019, 06:51:20 PM
Hey guys, I'm sorry to say that I'm leaving the Crypto-Games signature campaign.
I've brokered a better deal with the Bitsler campaign.

No hard feelings I hope, it was really fun to be part of this signature campaign since 2015.
In the end, it's just a huge pay difference, so I hope you understand my reasoning here.
