Well, this turned out to be simpler than I thought.

j/k

It likely just remembers the previous question I asked.

Edit: not only that, but it blatantly lied when I asked the same question using one of examples from the OP.

I have changed my opinion. I think ChatGPT will fit in here just fine and will be in DT1 and a merit source within weeks.

Detection of GPT usage is not going to be easy

I wonder if the ChatGPT output is logged (it probably is) and if they could implement an API to verify if a certain text was generated by it. That'd be a great help and not just for Bitcointalk. Although even if that happens there would be other less-cooperative AI sites eventually so it's a losing battle either way. Spammers gonna spam if they can make money with it.

Sounds like fraud.

Sounds like science to me:

I meant paying for AI art under false premise. I think it would be fraud to sell such art as being made by "a famous artist" just like it's fraud to sell a fake Monet. Even if a double blind study can't tell the difference.

Is someone going to pay money for "art" generated by AI?

If they don't know it's made by an AI and are convinced that a famous artist has made them, I'm pretty sure they will do.

Child porn was never thriving on Twitter or literally any major social media network.

"gender twisting groomers" (whatever that is) leads me to think that "child porn" might have been redefined in nutcase newspeak just like "shadow banning" was.

Of course Josh Jacobs has a big game as we square off (not that it matters for me at all lol).  I have to say of all players that I incorrectly judged, he tops the list. It’s not that I didn’t think he had the talent, but I just thought his team around him would fail to be competitive enough to help him succeed. But he’s been balling regardless.

You and me both, that came out of left field!

Guess he really wants a killer contract next year.

I thought for sure a shitty team with coach issues would never produce a top 20 back let alone a top 5 one!

I had Jacobs last year and he was doing ok, so I drafted him again. Basically thinking that a shitty quarterback means more work for RBs, look at CMC et al. Did not expect him to do quite this well but I guess Carr sucks this year more than last year Smiley

Surprisingly Jacobs does not have most snaps in the league - third after Barkley and Cook by count, and third after Barkley and JT by percentage. Hopefully that means more chance for him to survive through week 17.

I've been studying the subject a lot lately.  It's not particularly easy to just 'switch sides' physically. Even the handful of nations who will sell citizenship (e.g., Turkey) do want upwards of half a million $$$.

You're studying something irrelevant. You don't need citizenship to pursue freedom in the dictatorship country of your choice. Russia will happily hand out permanent resident permits to pretty much anyone, all you need is a job.

The last thing I need or have any interest in is a job.

You really need to learn more about how your favorite country functions. Having a job as a requirement to get permanent resident status doesn't mean you actually need to work that job, just lubricate the appropriate cogs in the machine.

But Russia doesn't sell citizenship as best I can tell.

Get the above and wait 5 years, that's all it takes.

And probably some Russian?

AFAIK not for residence. Would need it for citizenship. But in any case learning the language of the country you live in would be prudent.

after spending 8+ years on BitcoinTalk

LOL you blithering sockpuppet, anybody can see that you "wake up" every few months to shit out some useless BS.

Post from your main account so that we can properly judge your Bitcointalk experience.

Nice to hear that.
I would very much like to be part of next season, but I would first have to get in touch with the fantasy league.. I have no experience there.

Do you have a mission for the season? I've read through a few pages but couldn't find anything about it. Please enlighten me!  Roll Eyes

We each throw ~$50 in at the beginning of the season, pick players for our team, and then every week win or lose against another team based on the points our players score. Teams with most wins go to playoffs, top two teams fight for the championship and the champion gets the money (with a smaller amount of money going to the 2nd place). That's the mission I guess.

FF points are scored by catch/run/pass yards, touchdowns, etc - more details here: https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/1195465/settings

If they don't know it's made by an AI and are convinced that a famous artist has made them, I'm pretty sure they will do. I'd like to see double blind experiments with this.

Sounds like fraud.

Besides, the question is not so much how much can be paid, but how much can be saved by companies that currently have draftsmen on staff.

Ok, I would agree with that, some low-level tasks is where the AI could shine with its wikipedia skills.

As I commented in the other thread, I already saw some time ago that there are blogs that generate revenue written in good part by AI.

I want to check this out for myself. Maybe I will make a section on my site just for AI posts called JARVIS or something like that, and report here how much traffic I get from that on Google.

To me that just means that more likely the whole "genre" will die off, rather than produce some sort of real value. If the barrier of entry is too low and AI texts flood it, then traffic will decrease to the point of unprofitable or Google et al will demonetize it.

Certainly it's not going to replace humans in any way. But it is going to change many things, I don't know yet but I can feel it... You must have seen those DALL-E AI-generated images like this, these are coming from same OpenAI.

Combine these ChatGPT Text + DALL-E images, you are ready to take over humans (on the internet) in terms of speed and some accuracy too.

DALL-E is cool but also more in an amusing than practical way. I've seen some experiments on Twitter feeding ChatGPT generated texts into MidJourney and the results are quite interesting but I still struggle to see a practical application. Is someone going to pay money for "art" generated by AI?

Looks like y'all gonna need to apologize to Baker Mayfield LOL

Rams still suck horribly though.

Theymos works for the NSA, everybody knows that.
Shit, I probably shouldn't have been running amok, cursing him with my middle fingers waving about.  Any idea where I should send the apology flower bouquet to?

Congratulations on the name change.

Flower bouquets is not how this works. You'll be called upon when he needs a favor, perhaps when someone like the OP gets too annoying you can provide some chemical assistance.

you pick the sides that are handed to you

How come all those anti-establishment independent thinkers who can see through this massive conspiracy don't actually switch to the "side" they're shilling for? Like move to Russia because of its freedoms and traditional values. Instead they choose to suffer in the rotten capitalist West that's forcibly "handed" to them, and love Putin remotely. Ain't that weird?
495  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk forum vs OpenAI - ChatGPT on: December 08, 2022, 11:26:41 PM
I don't know when the "AI" definition changed to mean a glorified search engine combined with a spell/grammar checker, but I'm guessing Google has something to do with it. Anyway, that's what this is. It's like a 12-year old who reads a wikipedia article and is now an expert on all things.

I would say we should not confuse AI with google.

Yes, maybe these answers are like someone who's 12-years old... but again it's not a human with a 12 year mind but still the answer looks like it's coming from a human. Isn't it amazing?

For the forum? Not really. I don't know about you but I don't come here to read generic vapid faceless texts, I come here for a discussion, to learn stuff that I can't easily google, maybe for an occasional fight or trollbait. I can imagine that due to the monetization peculiarities of this forum AI-generated texts could drown out useful/interesting/entertaining content even more than current spammers do, and either kill the forum completely or force theymos to ban signatures/avatars/etc.

In another thread in an article someone said "OpenAI's GPT-3 may be the biggest thing since bitcoin"... I believe that's what it is going to be.

Again, "biggest" for what? Bitcoin solves a problem. AI chat seems like a fidget spinner. Nice to play with for a few minutes. Useless for reliable information (better off going to e.g. the aforementioned stack overflow directly).

Ask it how to fix a gas leak at a furnace

Ok, credit where credit's due - it didn't attempt to kill you. But didn't really provide any useful information for fixing the issue either. Safe, useless, and probably what a public-use AI will have to be lest it be sued out of existence.

So what has Theymos have to do with your Paranoia?

Theymos works for the NSA, everybody knows that.

Anyway, that's what this is. It's like a 12-year old who reads a wikipedia article and is now an expert on all things. There is no "I" in this "AI", or any chat "AI" I've seen so far. Ask it how to fix a gas leak at a furnace and it will happily provide advice on how to kill yourself if that's what it "read" on the intertubes.

For sure this will make shitposts more difficult to get reported and deleted, considering that even "non-AI" crap doesn't get deleted, so smart-sounding grammatically-correct posts will give shitposters better chances and may even earn a merit or two.

I can't be bothered to care too much though.

Congrats on being all alone in first!

Thanks. We should end the season now Grin

Ok, so the playoff picture, with 2 games to go and 6 teams with a shot at it... let's start with the Cows, a couple of options for them to get into the top 4:

1) Win at least one game. Then need one of the current 2nd/3rd/4th placed teams to lose both remaining games and win the tiebreaker with that team. The best target seems to be Corpse, what with their total points being ~50 below Cows.
or 2) Win both games. That way any top 4 team can be knocked off although I'm feeling kinda safe with my points total and needing only one win to clinch. But 2nd/3rd/4th placed teams could lose out to Cows in this scenario even if they win one of their remaining games.

For HH the path is much more steep: must win both games AND have one of the current 2nd/3rd/4th placed teams to lose both games AND must gain 40+ more points AND have Cows fail in their scenarios above.

For the top teams, to fall out of top 4 Coiners would need to lose both games and get outscored by Cows 100+ points and get outscored by the other three teams, not impossible but reasonably safe. Of the three 8-5 teams the schedule seems to be toughest for Jerkers, playing HH and Corpse, and Lamar being likely out next week at least. Barbarians' schedule seems to be most favorable (Eli and ChiBitCTy) and Mixon could be back.

Goat seemed asleep most of the game and and then went off for like a hundred yards and 2 touchdowns in the last 5 minutes. Looked like Saints had it in the bag and then they didn't.

Anyway, congrats to Cows for holding on to the win and improving their playoff chances considerably.
