Russia is now mobilizing conscripts and scraping together what working material they can, here's a convoy that shows the state of the russian army right now.

https://twitter.com/GirkinGirkin/status/1507275250505027589?s=20&t=AmMRpDSoJtZpPj0zMpMeVA

They are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

They're probably using Doordash, Grubhub, FoodPanda and UberEats or whatever their equivalent delivery apps are to get food to the front lines; none of those gig workers can afford to live a decent life let alone a decent vehicle so that's why it looks kinda rag-tag.

Don't think so, they're out of money.

https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2022-03-21/russian-officials-solicit-donations-for-soldiers-fighting-in-ukraine

Some highlights:

Quote
Local officials in Russia's Belgorod region bordering Ukraine have set up collection points where citizens can drop off donations of socks, medicine and tinned food for Russian troops fighting in Ukraine, according to messages from the officials seen by Reuters.

Quote
... "Friends, right now for our military the most important thing is medicine: strong pain relief, cold medicine, cough tablets, bandages, syringes, insulin, Novocaine, Lidocaine."

"We are also accepting personal hygiene items, socks, hats, gloves, thermal underwear, cigarettes, head torches."

Quote
The items requested by the association head in the chat included compasses, analogue watches, and AA and AAA batteries.

Quote
He said he had handed over tea, food, and undergarments.

They'll start asking to donate weapons and vehicles soon I think. Well, it's Russia so probably not so much "asking".

Investment advice from a shitposter, great as always (for a laugh or a cringe).

I think this one involves a time machine to keep track of the future:

Very strong support makes something good will appear later. if you want to see better information it's best to keep track of what's going on in the future. so it's best to do something very profitable.

This post seems to claim that all coins are profitable and have skills, with a big guarantee:

Each coin has its own skill to make a profit, if you hold on and watch the developments to come later. you should find out more about what you are defending later. This is a big guarantee later.

If the exchange becomes insolvent...  yes...  they will indeed be out of business.  That's kinda how it works.  But this valiant user is going to "take them down" and "destroy them".  *After* they've become insolv- y'know what, never mind.  I'm close to having my brain-matter try to escape via my ears just thinking about it.

I've reported dozens if not hundreds of posts made by this particular user. It's just a constant stream of illiterate stupidity that should be on Twitter, not here.

1427  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Economic sanctions are not a war declaration on: March 24, 2022, 08:07:29 PM
Russia does not need euros, but the freedom to dispose of them, to buy everything that Russia needs, even if sanctions are imposed on it. One phrase of Putin's "gas for rubles" made 6,000 Western sanctions a senseless hysterical dummy. It is foolish to threaten Russia when she holds you by the balls - Europe will quickly learn this lesson.

Russia could itself overcome the sanctions through spacers and intermediaries, it has enough loyal partners in the world and enough experience. But then the Russians would have to pay overheads and commissions. Now the overhead costs of overcoming their own sanctions will fall on the shoulders of the West. This is an example of political judo, which Putin is very good at.

Translation: Putin is running out of euros and he needs more euros so he's trying to renegotiate the gas contracts.

That's all there is to it. He can't pay anyone outside of Russia (e.g. China) in rubles. He needs real currency. He's thoroughly fucked either way but if he can extort a few extra euros this way, he might be able to make it to May 9 and have a few tanks remaining for his last parade in the Red Square.
1428  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Economic sanctions are not a war declaration on: March 24, 2022, 03:27:42 PM
Well, yes, I think Putin has enough rubles.

You think irrationally, what is the point of him wanting the euro if they are under sanctions?

Which is it then?

What to do with them

I don't know, ask Vlad and tell us.

The fact is, Putin's Russia will be selling rubles to Germany to pay for gas, so euros will end up in Putin's pocket, just as it's happening now.
1429  Economy / Services / Re: Endfb.com competition 100$ prize pool on: March 24, 2022, 01:11:28 PM
Past facebook moderators? What is that.

I think the OP wants to break facebook rules, i.e. make rule-breaking posts and evade moderators (get past them).

Obviously too chickenshit to do it himself so looking for idiots.
1430  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Economic sanctions are not a war declaration on: March 24, 2022, 01:06:44 PM
Well, yes, I think Putin has enough rubles. But there is a nuance, now Germany, Austria, Japan and all other unfriendly countries that buy gas from Russia will want rubles. And in order to continue buying Russian gas, they will have to learn how to get around their own sanctions, which they have so generously imposed on Russia. And they will have to support the Russian economy, which they have already declared "torn to shreds."

No matter how you polish the turd, Putin wants more euros. There rest of it is status quo, gas/oil exports for the most part haven't been sanctioned and there is no additional support for the Russian economy. On the contrary, this ruble nonsense will make even more loyal gal/oil buyers rethink dealing with Russia.

it is enough to cut an A3 pack in half at the nearest printing house and there will be two A4 packs.

And then cut it further and glue it together to make cash register tape, etc. What could possibly go wrong.

Russia has been living under sanctions for a hundred years, this will not scare us. We are Russians - God is with us.

That's one thing Russia will never run out of - imaginary murderous sky fairies.

Bump with another egregious example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5365943

More details in my reply:

[...]

Speaking of self-mod, this thread originally was a completely different topic in Russian, korner/Excimer removed all replies, modified the OP and moved it here.

https://ninjastic.space/topic/5365943

Petition to remove self-mod privileges for severe abuse: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5274729

Edit - predictably, after my reply korner removed the contents of the OP and moved the thread back to the Russian board, then to Hebrew board, possibly some other board(s), then to Scam Accusations, and again completely replaced it's contents and locked it. The thread is no longer self-mod - probably one of the boards he moved it to killed the self-mod flag, so it's useless to him now. Small wins. Unfortunately I didn't make a full archive copy of the thread when I replied to it but it was a ludicrous accusation against another user.

Edit2 - now he created a new thread with the same accusation:

I don't know about Russia's retaliatory capabilities against countries that don't border them but Putin will likely try something.
Putin today announced the sale of gas for rubles to unfriendly countries.

Putin could easily force Gazprom to sell their euros at any rate he wants. The only reason to try to force e.g. Germany to do it is to basically renege on the contract - I bet the rate he wants will be something ludicrous and not the current market rate. Essentially he wants more euros, not rubles.

Meanwhile in the real world
Easy, illusions don't interest me. Curiously, you are more concerned with what kind of planes the Russians will fly than what you will eat. While valiant Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting untold losses on Putin's army (according to Ukrainian propaganda), the disruption of the sowing campaign in Ukraine has already taken place. And Ukraine is the breadbasket of all of Europe (was).

LOL, you're right, flying is going to be the least of Russia's concerns. It's just one of many examples for how fucked Putin is. He had to steal foreign-leased airplanes, otherwise he'd have nothing.

How about sugar, figured that one out yet? Paper? Everything else that goes 2x up in price and/or disappears, including things that are supposedly made in Russia? Looks like someone didn't think through the whole "invade another country and fingers crossed for no sanctions" plan.

1434  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 23, 2022, 02:15:13 AM
There are no good options left here, I believe Ukraine is stuck between bad and worst. Fighting should only go on for as long as there's a chance to change the outcome. Ukraine doesn't benefit from additional loss of life once the the outcome becomes inevitable. West sending in encouragements and military weapons, rarely means that its in that nations best interest, just means that its to the West's benefit.

There is no indication that "the West" can influence Ukrainians to stop or continue fighting. Giving them weapons gives them a chance.

Do you think that Ukrainians stand to win if escalations lead to true carpet bombings and a huge loss of life? US set a terrible precedence on how to get a nation to accept its terms (and culturally Japan was much more reluctant), and your whole strategy on escalations based on Russia not doing the same (minus the nukes)? When you're far away it's easy to encourage Ukrainians and send them weapons you're not risking your life, with the added bonus of undercutting Putin, but is it ethical? History is written by the winners, just look at US/Japan relationship now.

My strategy? And how far do you think I am LOL. I hope it's the figurative "you".

Now the real "me" has no doubt that the only way to make the conflict worse for Ukrainians and Eastern (and probably all of) Europe is to not support them and/or try to convince them to surrender to Putin. Carpets or no carpets, Ukrainians don't want to live in Putin's Russia, and for a good reason. So much so that they consider dying while defending their land as an acceptable alternative.

So the choice isn't escalation vs no escalation, the choice is Ukrainians using Javelins vs using rocks and potatoes. I don't think that rocks and potatoes would result in fewer Ukrainian casualties. It would also likely result in Putin marching on to other countries.
1435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 23, 2022, 12:11:59 AM
start getting military help from China

That would imply that the Chinese government is dumber than Putin, which I really doubt. China will sit on the sidelines for as long as they need to so that they can get Siberia on the cheap.

Anyone dares to do a cost/benefit analysis on civilians if Ukraine accepts the terms or at this point they're pretty much committed to just being a pawn and have no choice but to be a battle ground for this east vs west game to their last citizen?

What are you still babbling about? What "terms"? Denazification? Putin lied about everything and is still lying so there isn't any trust in him that would make some mythical "terms" feasible.

Funny how you talk about "pawns" in the same sentence where you're implying that the Ukrainians can be just told to accept "terms" and stop fighting. At this point it's very unlikely they would do so and it's getting less likely with every civilian death. Threatening them with more civilian deaths is not going to make them want Russian "terms".
1436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: March 22, 2022, 10:21:54 PM
Tell me more about their high-precision weapons... Is that Grad, Uragan or Smerch? These "high precision" weapons probably hit civilian objects way more times than they hit military infrastructure. Offcourse, you can always use excuse that civilian object was base of nationalists.

Yeah there must be hundreds of thousands of those "nationalists" in Mariupol alone because Russian forces had attacked nearly every building and they still haven't been able to take the city.

In other news, Putin the great liberator is determined to kill civilian Donbas population on "his" side as well, by making them into cannon fodder:

1437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long ukraine could survive? on: March 22, 2022, 07:39:43 PM
There is also a medium-haul narrow-body airliner MS-21

"is" is too generous for an airplane that hasn't even been produced in any kind of volume and has the same problem as the SSJ - vital foreign components.

Meanwhile in the real world:

https://topspb.tv/news/2022/03/22/s7-planiruet-ispolzovat-samolyoty-il-86-i-il-96/

That's the future, back to the USSR, which Putin likes so much.
1438  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long ukraine could survive? on: March 22, 2022, 04:59:18 PM

Ouch, that's gonna put a dent in the plan to surround Kyiv.

But no worries, Russian people will take a break from standing in lines for sugar and will instead donate supplies to keep the war going:

Local officials in Russia's Belgorod region bordering Ukraine have set up collection points where citizens can drop off donations of socks, medicine and tinned food for Russian troops fighting in Ukraine, according to messages from the officials seen by Reuters.

World's best army, eh Kremlinbots?

In Kyiv on May 9 2022, a traditional parade will be held in honor of the victory of the USSR over Nazi Germany. It is naive and foolish to doubt it.

Well, if not in Kyiv then maybe in the suburbs of Chornobaivka. The equipment might need some polishing before it's parade-ready.
