501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 12, 2023, 03:39:32 PM
There is no reason to panic as long as what we hold is Bitcoin, because Bitcoin is always good to hold as long as possible and without any reason. Moreover, many people already know that Bitcoin is good enough to be held in the long term as a good investment in each of our lives, but this must also be understood by those who have just gotten to know Bitcoin and like it, so that they also don't easily panicked when he found out about this.

On the one hand, in this case, maybe you are right and that is the real choice that must be made to get maximum results. Yes. BTC is a good investment and has been proven after the last hard downturn. At the moment, I think the expensive condition of gas also influences a person's enthusiasm to postpone carrying out transactions to sell their BTC assets.

The state of mempool is really one factor why we really need to postponed our transactions because the fees are very high. However, there could be some members who are into a emergency or even who rely on his bitcoin to survived and so he has not choice, despite the high fees to withdraw unless he can just borrowed money from someone else and then pay later when the mempool is back to normal and so he can withdraw.

But definitely, holding is one of the best strategy for us. And I think for my case, the pandemic really make me HODL, and help me understand what accumulating is. So I just continue doing that in this bear market, buy save to in my wallet and sell it in small percentage when we are in a bull run.
502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 12, 2023, 03:24:50 PM
Harden definitely deserved all the heat he got, dude has been just jumping from one place to another whenever he wants and he is not happy, there are a ton of players in the league who would rather be somewhere else too, but they have contracts that they are abiding. I am not saying Harden can't get out of a contract, if he agrees to terminate his deal, he is free to leave, but asking for a trade means that he keeps pushing his teams to have worse squad. Sixers are much worse now after the trade, did they deserve that? They traded Ben Simmons for Harden, and all they got was a terrible player who failed at playoffs with an MVP teammate and bunch of picks after he left.

I do agree, however, I just read that he says that he need at least 10 days to fully acclimatized himself with the Clippers system and the players. So most likely this is just an excuse for him though, to at least justify that he is not the reason why the Clippers are missing.

But if we have followed NBA for a long time, we know that he has this history of requesting trade if he knows that his current team is not doing good or least himself is not the leader or the Alpha. So same here with the Clippers, Kawhi is the franchise player and not Harden. So maybe sooner or later after a disastrous season for the Clippers we might hear him asking for a trade again.
503  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2023 end game sentiment check on: November 11, 2023, 08:54:09 PM
Have you checked the market, bitcoin price has increased to $37.5k, those who still call this a trap should consider whether their plan is correct? I think bitcoin will continue to conquer new levels in the coming days and we have the right to expect $40k this month. Bitcoin has increased more than 35% in the past 30 days and shows no signs of stopping. We should enjoy this moment instead of saying it's a trap and waiting for something that will never happen.
LOL traps that make profits, but don't try to buy when the price is already high and at the top of the resistance.
$40k seems to be the number that Bitcoin will reach if the trend continues to improve and the nearest resistance is always passed.

At least if the top is the all time high, so if you buy on that price, you really have to wait for a long time to make some profits. But if you buy at some point in time and then we went on a bull run and all time high, and during that time you think that it is already expensive but you still bought because you look for long term, then why not? you can still squeeze some profits.

November has been a fairly bullish month and this is still the second week, if Bitcoin still stays in this position we will see another price increase.

It starts on October, from $28k-$32k, now this November we have reach like $39k and now back to test the support line of $37k.

But also need to be aware of price corrections and some downturns due to FUD that can appear at any time.
In December we will also have BlackFriday which will be a month of discounts.
It will be a good month to buy back and continue to accumulate Bitcoin holdings.

Yeah, but the next coming month or at least the end of the year will be very interesting, yeah it's holiday season and there could be some selling their stash to have some cash. But I'm seeing that the price will continue to grow, so it's going to be a dilemma if we are going to sell or just continue to hold and still enjoy the holiday seasons.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum and BlackRock on: November 11, 2023, 08:21:06 PM
Hello,
I read the following news:
https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/654d4f5e51dc7d34b7d45ea2/

Is now the right time to buy Ethereum?

Thank you.

This is the classic example of a FOMO. I mean if the OP is really a investor then it doesn't matter if there is news about BlackRock intention for a Ethereum Spot ETF. However, when he hears the news then immediately he wants to join the bandwagon by starting to ask for financial advise here. The best thing to do, with or without this news is to simply accumulate if you think that Ethereum will continue to rise in the future.

All things pointing out to a imminent bull run in 2024-2025. Block halving will start around April and that is the catalyst for a massive bull run. So just think of Ethereum as a solid coin that will give you a huge profit in the future. So yeah why not just buy it and hold for long term?

If the BlackRock application is approved, then good, if not then you can still make some profits by HODLing.
505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]Adrien Broner vs Chris Howard (Welterweight) Nov 4. . on: November 11, 2023, 08:05:23 PM

I was confused as well because I hadn't seen any updates in social media regarding this fight and I want to see Broner fight again because he was an entertainer and an arrogant boxer I really like to see him lose Grin Cheesy

By the way, if he only not get carried away and became arrogant both inside and outside the ring, people would really want to see his comeback fight but what can we do, that's just how he is and he has more talk than punches throughout the rounds.
He always defends himself with his blind alibis whenever he loses a fight, this habit will be stopped when he gets knocked out I hope Howard knocks Browner out so he can stop his arrogant behavior, his been staying in this business for too long raking up too many losses, I don't think he has a chance to win a title the welterweight champions Ennis and Crawford are on top of their games and they they are on peak of their career it will be suicidal for Browner if he dare faced these two champions.

It sometimes pays to be one of the most hated cocky boxers of this time. With his behaviour he still can book himself to fight despite how he got crazy in the McDonald's store. Broner is already suicidal, if I remember correctly he also wanted to fight Mayweather, he called Floyd for a fight.

Floyd and Adrien used to be very tight though, they have been seen in the public many times together. If I'm not mistaken, Floyd take Broner under his wing, similar to how he did to Tank Davis. But I think Broner is really out of control that time, in his prime and he try to be the next Floyd Mayweather. But after that lost to Marcos Maidana everything falls apart and so he was forgotten. Although he got lucky that he got to fight Manny for a good paycheck even if he is already on his downward spiral.

The posts above say this fight was moved to Dec 2 as co main event of Ryan vs Duarte. Broner still has it, he also fought earlier this year. He is still 34 I think he still can fight at least to make money.

Yeah, he can still fight for the money. And maybe he can still be a champion, like interim belt, but at 140 lbs, it is very difficult as those from the 135 lbs are going up in this division like Ryan and they show intention to fight him next. And it could be Ryan's stepping stone and big test next.
506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 11, 2023, 07:34:13 PM
I have the believe that success in gambling requires a mixture of luck and skill. This is opposed to some people that believe that gambling is entirely a game of luck and others who believe it is entirely a game of skill.

So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?

Depends on what games you played, for poker players, it's more of their skills on how to read their opponents and bluff. For sports betting, you need to analyse the game itself and see what are the strengths and weaknesses of the teams that are playing against each other and see how it's going to be in the end. So there is somewhat a analytical skills involved.

But for games like slots, dice, roulette, doesn't need skills there, all you need is money and some luck and then you roll that dice or push the button for slots machine and hope that it will land on the bets that you have on them.
507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 11, 2023, 01:37:35 PM
LA Clippers 0-3 now with James Harden. The Clippers already have a strong team so it's hard to see how James Harden fits in. Clippers doing well without Harden and his style might cause more problems than solutions. Maybe he could come off the bench to help but that's not guaranteed if he doesn't agree. If Jame Harden don't want to go bench trading him might be an option again. Lmao. Even without Harden the Clippers are still a top team especially when Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are fit and playing.

We can also say that to the Bucks, they've lost Holiday and pick up Lillard, but so far the marriage is somewhat off, and they don't have a good record at the start of the season and obviously the chemistry has been disrupted since there are a lot of new players in Bucks roster.

And we have been discussing it even before Harden goes to the Clippers, they already have like 3 stars already having a problem as well. And then adding Harden in the equation? It's going to be very hard to the coach on how to balance their superstars. Although the Clippers organization might think that they have won the trade since they didn't give up most of it's players, but there is still the question on how Harden is going to fit and so far, he is not doing any good.
508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex was hacked (Security Breach Discussion) on: November 10, 2023, 09:00:17 PM
Topic Security Breach and Protection Layers. Do you think that Exchanges and DeFI need more development and investments here or is this just something we have to lay down our heads and deal with?
Yes and more professional ones. This happened due to a low security network of Poloniex. Probably they need to have more security protocols and not only them but a lot of exchange like Binance Kucoin, which is targeted by hackers. Obviously this is not new but considering the news it will have a great impact on market situation.

Right, the thing is that this is not the first time that they have been hack so obviously they didn't learn anything from the past and maybe they are just relaxed thinking that they could not be a target anymore. But there are a lot of groups even state sponsored hackers plying in the ecosystem. And one they case you, it will be just a matter of time before they hack the exchange in whichever means possible.

Not sure though what is the impact in the market situation. We didn't see any major downside on any top tier coins right now. So perhaps this is just a non factor and only Poloniex and it's customers and Justin are being affected. Hopefully the funds are SAFU so that those who lost their money can get it back at least.
509  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: November 10, 2023, 08:30:55 PM
there is no purchase that is too expensive or too cheap, it all depends on the point you determine. if you plan to sell at 60k, the investment you are making now is good enough. or better yet, if you hold it for a longer time, maybe your investment can become even more profitable.
The main point is the target that we set ourselves when we start investing, because we want to set a long-term target for Bitcoin investment in the $60K range. That means it's still good enough to buy from now on, but if the current price range has provided a hundred percent profit because of buying Bitcoin at a much lower price last year, it wouldn't be wrong for an investor to sell. Although it would be much better if you still save to see the potential increase next year in what range the Bitcoin price will be.

It's already more than 100% profit for us if we have invested at the lowest price last year of $15,500. So that is the good thing about bitcoin investment, in just short amount of time you can really make a huge profit without doing anything in your part but just to buy and then hold. But the bigger picture is still the bull run that we wanted to see next year. So buying at $35,000 could still be a good idea.

And this price seems to be very expensive, yeah, for some it is, but just look at how the price moves to $37k-$40k. There is still profits to be made short term. But as I have said, it's better to look long term so that when you buy today and if you think it's expensive, then just wait till we enter the bull run.
510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: November 10, 2023, 08:18:45 PM

i could be wrong with that odds, 30% for almost a 90% win Inoue would be a loss for the bookie. i could just be giving tapales a big credit because he is also a champ. he wouldn't be in that position if he can't box. he still has lots of time in preparation but i remember fulton is close to that as well. kudos to tapales for not ducking the no. 2 p4p though. for a boxer who has seen firsthand what Inoue can do.  it's a tough fight when you can foresee yourself taking the canvas temperature challenge with just one hit from the monster.

Lol, but it's true we have to give credit for Tapales, for having the "conjones" to face the number 2 p4p. But I guess he knows that he is on the collision course with Inoue specially when he upset Akhmadaliev and took his belt. As per the odds, no doubt that Inoue will be the outstanding favorite in this fight and it's like that he is a sure winner already. But he shouldn't underestimate the Filipino because he knows what he can do in the ring and it will create a lot of ripple if Inoue loses this one.

So we should give credit for Marlon, and from all the reports that we are seeing, he is sacrificing a lot on his end like training very hard not just in US but also in Baguio the Philippines and facing a lot of good Filipino fighters to get himself feeling the power.
511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 10, 2023, 07:53:15 PM
I mean averaging 18.8 ppg and 2.4 blocks per game on your rookie year is still great. We need to remember that Wembanyama is having his first ever season, he is just a rookie, and it's his early games. He is not suppose to end up playing like a superstar right away, he could be just very well doing fine, and that is understandable and there is nothing wrong with that, as long as the dude is making sure that he stays healthy, I would consider that a win for him.

That is the thing though with this hype rookies, the expectations are very high. And the last time that we have this kind of hype is Lebron James when he come on the league. And he did good during his first year. I know it's going to be tough following that footsteps because we have seen it already and up to know James is still playing so it's a hard to replicate that.

By my metric, anything above 15ppg, or even if he is closer to 20ppg like right now that's better, and anything above 2 blocks per game, with about 70 or more games played, is a rocking awesome rookie year. He can get a lot better later on, I think it's about year 5 when they start to actually be a superstar. Up until that point, they try to build their body to withstand 82 games, or at least as much as possible, some like AD never achieve that Cheesy. So if Wemby could get there, then I expect year 5 to be the "superstar" year.

Of course, anything about 15 ppg is already a big numbers for a rookie. And fans are going to Spurs game to watch him. And so he has a lot things to look at in the next 5 years. But the good thing is that the kid is carrying himself up to this point and hopefully his body can go and withstand 82 games.
512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: November 10, 2023, 12:54:15 PM
Where does that leave Fury and Usyk? If over time Fury had worked out how to defeat Wilder how does that affect the Fury vs Usyk possible fight? In my opinion if this Fury/Usyk drama was to continue the best thing that can happen in order to add pressure on both Fury and Usyk, is for Joshua to fight Wilder. That would really add a new dimension to the heavyweight division.

Before Usyk entered the scene, Wilder was considered Fury's toughest opponent. In fact, many believed Wilder would win the fight, and he was the heavy favorite on sports betting sites. Wilder was -160 in the first fight and -125 in the second one. He was actually the underdog in their last bout, and he lost because Fury had figured out how to beat him. Although Fury had already defeated Wilder in their rematch, the last fight was a pretty dominant win for him.

Fury defeated Wilder three times, and Usyk declassed Joshua twice. No matter how they fight with each other (Wilder and Joshua), it is unlikely that this can somehow change their position regarding the Usyk-Fury pair, at least until we see the first fight between Usyk and Fury. Theoretically, one could speculate that the balance of power in this four could turn over over time, but these boxers are at such an age that in the coming years they will simply end their careers.

Yeah, so as far as rankings, it will be Fury, Usyk, and then AJ and Wilder.

And as much as AJ and Wilder wanted to say that they are the best in HW, they don't have any belts to boot. The only thing they have is that they are just in those tier and that's why we wanted to see them facing each other, Fury vs AJ for all British, or AJ vs Wilder as this fight has been touted for many years before they got beaten.

Francis though is the odd man out right now, he needs to beat at least one of them before his name could be inserted in the discussions.
513  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price $45k by ending of 2023: AI prediction on: November 09, 2023, 09:44:27 PM
So I decided to bring it to the forum to know about what other forum members think about this AI prediction. Is it a prediction you can rely on or it's just one of those common bitcoin  price predictions of the decade we are used to from different angles, is there anything special about this one .

To me, it's not a ridiculous prediction.
I predicted 35k to $40k before the end of the year so it's not really surprising that someone else or something else will predict $45k
I don't believe it would have t to $45k this year though even though I'm secretly hoping for it to go above that.
If Bitcoin gets to $45k dollars it means we will most likely see a new ATH next year after the halving.
This is the usual trend before the halving and yes there’s a big possibility for that pump after the halving. In preparation to the big updates, the market price is also preparing and ending a year with a good price is a good indication of a bull trend. Reaching $45k this year is still possible, let’s be more bullish and positive for Bitcoin because we will benefit from this and our investments will be more worth it.

And probably the next question is, what if we indeed reach $45k at the end of the year? Will everyone now goes to AI and ask and them believed what it will tell us? Next year obviously it will be a big run for us as we will have the halving and then the eventual bull run that we all have been waiting. There are predictions that we can hit $100k at a minimum. So maybe another question that we could post to this AI is that what will be the prediction for 2024-2025? Will it match what most of the speculators here are predicting or will it be a different prediction that we have some qualms about it and think that we should ignore AI in cryptocurrency trading or prediction? So I guess there's more questions that answer if we tap AI at it's infancy, just saying.
514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 09:25:44 PM
And the Lakers again has a ugly lost against the Houston. Rockets started hot with Jalen Green and never look back. I don't think that the Lakers got it close to a single digit in this game. Whenever they will try to make a comeback, the Rockets will have it's own run.

But it's nice to see Bron and Brooks again as they have a nice matchup down the point.

VanFleet proves why he is worth with the huge contract with the Rockets, being their point guard, and make it easy for his team to score, with 9 points and 10 assists in just 29 minutes of play.
I am pleasantly surprised how better Rockets is this season so far. VanVleet is indeed a very valuable player and especially a player like him was needed by the Rockets. He and Dillon Brooks improved the overall team quality and elevated every other player, especially Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green. Also the change of coach was obviously very needed and Rockets is much better with the new coach.

Yep, it seems that the Rockets has finally found the missing pieces in Fred VanFleet, they took a huge gamble by offering him one of the biggest contract this season, but it's paying off. Remember that they are also considering James Harden as per report. And it's good that they have choose VanFleet and not Harden. Jalen Green is coming to his age right now and so is Sengun, very simply player but very effective.

And then they have the muscle in Dillon Brooks if they needed a player to stop the opposing team's main weapon. He even guarded Steph Curry during their games. But here it was his old nemesis in Lebron James. But it doesn't matter if Brooks is with a different team not, all he wanted is to play defense whoever is in front of him. They also have a lot of good role and young players coming off the bench to give their starters a good rest and then they just continue their momentum in this game and not allowing the Lakers to make a comeback just like what they do on their previous games, catching up and then stealing one. But it's not going to happen at Houston's homecourt.
515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 09, 2023, 08:35:52 PM
It looks like you are going with the Warriors here against the Nuggets.

But I'm going with the Nuggets at -3.5 @1.88. There are reports that Draymond might not going to play in this game. Even so, the Nuggets have Jokic, and then they are blending very well.

Yeah, there was no green on the court, but the Warriors really kept it a close game. The Nuggets came out on top, but they couldn't quite cover the spread, winning by only 3 points. That's all part of the game, mate. But you're taking 1.88; I personally think 1.95 would be better with a higher spread, but that's just my take.

Anyway, good luck in the next one, and let's hope for a bounce back.

Thanks, it was a hard fought game and the spread, ouch, I got greedy and thinking that they can cover it. Sure, I will try to bounce back as there are a lot of games later.

I'll go with the Bucks against the Pacers, could be another close game here, but let's see if Giannis can take one at the road against the Pacers. The Bucks slight favorite @1.77 ML. I think there's value on that bet.

I also like to go ML with the Mavericks @1.81 against the Clippers, gonna be exciting, but I think LA might still struggle and Doncic putting MVP numbers.

517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: David Benavidez Vs Demetrius Andrade Interim WBC Super Middleweight title fight on: November 09, 2023, 01:10:14 AM
^^ Yeah, familiar with Berto and I will say that his he was like Broner, minus the trash talking. He had a good skills back then and if I remember correctly, he is supposedly to fight Mosley then, after Mosley beat Margarito. But a big earth quake hits Haiti (where Andre's family came from), so he has to go there and raise money for the country.

And after that, he goes back fighting but it seems that he has lost his hype already. He was one of Floyd's hit list and so they fought. But we all know that nobody beats Mayweather and so Berto looks very amateurish in that fight.

Obviously this is for the money and not for the revenge against another old fighter in Guererro. I don't know how this old boxers can still get a fight in a very good match like this one.
518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 06, 2023, 03:15:49 PM
Praograis @3.65 is of interest to me. These boxers came from hard fights where they only won by questionable decisions. But Progais was fighting someone not in the top five while Haney fought Lomachenko. I will not miss this match. Prograis does not have the speed of Lomachenko but he has the ability to hurt Haney. Haney does not have ko in his punches but he has what it takes to win a decision.

Yeah, I think maybe sport bookies are underestimating Regis Prograis, or they think that Haney can overcome him with his skills. The scary part is that Regis has power to knockout anyone at 140 lbs and this is the first time that Haney in this weight. So we don't know how good he is, and his chin is also questionable. I mean if by chance Regis hit him with power punches he might go down.

Ryan Garcia utilized the names of Prograis and Haney to gain more fame in his separate match with I forgot the name. He generally discusses battling the best but as of recently, he is fearful of taking a match with the champions.

He is fighting Duarte, it's obvious that this is just a stepping stone or a comeback fight for Ryan. He is big though, an for sure he will not have a problem making 140 lbs. And Prograis is a champion here and Haney trying to make his name at this division same with him. So don't be surprise if he is going to call both of this fighters. Even Teo Lopez as well is in the radar of Ryan Garcia. So let's see first if he can get over Duarte and it will not be an easy fight for him.
519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 05, 2023, 09:08:35 PM
Whenever I am low on cash on the casino I play which includes a sport book I like to copy other people bets, usually parlays with odds over 1000 and I think to myself who cares if I play for example 50 bets copying other people with 200 IDR as my base bet,if any of these guys hits it big I will do to.Notice that I put 1000 as a minimum here but the reality is that I have been copying bets with over 700.000 as odds,I damn love these huge multipliers yet no one has got such one in sport betting.

Of course in here it is not about skill or luck games anymore but it is about destiny,so tell me how many of you are deceived by dreams that may change your destiny like I am  Grin?

I haven't try that strategy though, but obviously I will see a lot of bets along the way and you will be just in awe on such big bets or those gamblers who are betting on a parlay with a huge odds and sometimes I'm tempted to copy them. However, those games that the gamblers are betting are not familiar to me, so most of the times I have qualms about it and so I don't do this strategy. But why not though, I mean if you are losing then it might call for desperate measures, just saying.

In any case, there is a video circulating about a man who is in prison, calling someone and telling them to bet for him a parlay,

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7P48TLNBzsI

And it said that he won, and uses that money he won for a bail, not sure if this is real or not, but crazy story.
520  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did you think will happen to Bitcoin before January? on: November 05, 2023, 08:41:44 PM
With my analysis and observation, I think before January there will be an inflation in Bitcoin. This coin have depreciate to it stop limit, that is where it can not further depreciate again.
And whenever this coin gets to this point, it reverses back and then boom and trust me it's about time.

Lol, I thought that OP will have a analysis on what's going to happen pre-halving. However, just like the rest of us, we have our own wild and educated guess. And I think the best scenario that everyone is hoping is that we want to see the price going into the positive direction, i.e. price around the $40k-$50k that time.

Not really sure what you mean by inflation and depreciation, yeah, terms could have the same meaning here, but in crypto we seldom used that term. But in any case, if the majority is looking for a increased at the start of next year, then obviously, we want to make profits short term and in order to do that, we should continue to accumulate at this price and hopefully our prediction will hit to squeeze some profits in January it you are that kind of a trader/speculator.
