1481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 30, 2022, 01:04:44 PM
Theoretically the way I look at it is that Nadal and Djokovic have pretty much developed their
game to the max whereas the younger generation and in particular Alcaraz are still developing.

Could be, we are already in 2022 era, so most likely this old guard will have to retire because they have max their potential already. To the point that when they tried, their body is no longer responding to them, the way we see on Federer and then it starts to deteriorate, wear and tear on this body caught up with the. But the good news is that we have a new set of players going to take over from them.

I would like to think that Alcaraz in 2023 will be much better than 2022 and should pose more
of a threat to everyone including Djokovic.

I agree, by leaps and bounds, sure in 2022 he had a break out run, but Alcaraz would dominate next year just like Djokovic did when he was younger. So it's good to see the old and the young generations fighting it out in any of the Grand Slams for next year.

That is something to really look forward to. The older generation and the next generation are playing at a better level than they did 10 years ago. The older players are losing their energy more slowly than the players 10 years ago. I always find it interesting to see how a new generation grows up and how the older players slowly understand that their time is over.

We only have the last 2 standing, Federer has retired and it seems that Rafa might be the next one, his body is also not doing good specially in the surface that he specialized because it really put a lot of stress.

So it might just be Djokovic against all new comers, he could be good for at least 2 years to battle and fought against the young generations lead by Alcaraz. So definitely next year will be an litmus test for them against Djokovic and to some extend Nadal if he can still play at clay.

@kemarit I strongly believe that Nadal and Djokovic will both play at least for one more year, but in 2024 either one of them or both could possibly call it quits as their bodies are barely keeping up these days. Furthermore I’m keen to see who’ll be the long term champion, because so far I don’t see any consistency in the current set of player’s and which makes me wonder if the records set by these 3 will ever be broken?.

For me it will be Djokovic who might stay a bit as obviously he is the younger of the big 3 and his worst injury if I'm not mistaken was in 2019, but he was able to come back win another slam and it was smooth sailing for him tennis wise, (not decision wise though like his covid stance).

As for the new set of players, again this is just me, it could still be Alcaraz, and he could be the most consistent of this new breed of players who wants to take over as the news set of big 3. But I do agree though, consistency will be the key for them to stay on top and be competitive.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: December 30, 2022, 12:18:34 PM
In a bear market though, any positive news will not be felt, just like when we hear about Brazil's legalization, the price didn't move on the contrary, it just move sideways, meaning no effect at all and on the contrary, it just go down a bit as we speak.

But if this news happens in the bull market, for sure a minimum jump of 5% will happen as soon as this news was released.

Anyhow, bear market is not over, and it could stay for a the whole year, 2023.
I agree about 2022, but there are big questions about 2023. I believe we can expect something different in 2023, it's about market recovery. I am still very optimistic that the market will recover soon in 2023 and it is quite possible that $20K will be support then.

So far it seems hard to see the market moving more than 5% at any one time, but I'm not really expecting that now as I still want to collect more bitcoin at low prices. Either way I still believe that the current drop in bitcoin price is part of a cycle, and it will end. No doubt, this is coming soon and I hope you all stay on the same train, meaning don't sell during the price down.

I guess there's nothing wrong to be optimistic in the next year, after all we really don't know what's next for us in 2023. On the flip side, if there will be another bear market, then obviously it will mean a decline again, so it could be in along the $10k-$13k worst case scenario, or a few bounce and maybe $25k-$30k if there is some good news around.

So for the best thing to do in this kind of situation is just like what you said, accumulate as much as we can, and then be prepared on both end. If the price decline then take advantage of the situation. If the price goes up, then DCA and still look for the long term or at least the next bull run.
1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Max match & odd in Parlay/Multi on: December 29, 2022, 08:45:01 PM
By the way, some casinos offer live betting, and if a basketball quarter is a tie they pay x15, if you parlay 3 draws and win all of them that would be an x1000. But you need a lot of luck to win it.

I haven't seen 3 draws (tie score) though in an NBA games, so that is rare, but if you hit it, that's going to be a nice odds. Sportsbet offer 18.00 for a time score after the end of regulation pre-game bet, while Stake offers 15.00.

I think the biggest parlay I win is just around 7.x or higher in an NBA games way back, it's a 5 match parlay, and yes, we need a lot of luck to win that games and probably I was just fortunate.
1484  Other / Archival / Re: 2022 was the second worst year for Bitcoin on: December 29, 2022, 07:47:42 PM
I would go further and say this was the worst year ever for Bitcoin.  We've never seen such a prolonged drop below the 200 day moving average and it looks like it isn't done yet.  With the world readying for recession and Bitcoin seemingly falling off a cliff, things are going to be pretty dicey over the next 2 years.  I only hope that Bitcoin is able to survive and bounce back again.  It isn't going to be easy this time with CBDCs on the way along with plenty of regulation to try and rip coins from user's hands.  I will admit I'm nervous about this cycle, but we'll see what happens soon enough.

I can't remember but 2018 was much worst for me personally, but this year though, a lot of things really happen that really affected the market in general, and the thing is, we don't even have control over it. If the price change was due to FUD like way back, after a few days, and when things settle down, everything will be back to normal. But not in this case, a lot of event pushes the market even further and yeah, probably making this the worst year for us. But if I'm going to look at the price side, maybe the equivalent is that we will enjoy a huge success in the next bull run and yes, we might see 6 digits minimum.
1485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are good AI coins to buy and HODL? on: December 29, 2022, 07:23:28 PM
Well I did a quick search on coingecko and the search came up with few top Ai coins and among them are-
*Matrix AI Network (MAN)
*Fetch.ai (FET)
*Artificial Liquid Intelligence (ALI)
*Vectorspace AI (VXV)
and many more, although I do not know anything about these projects yet so you should probably do some more research on any of them. To be honest, I never knew anything about AI projects until now. There are not much hype on these projects yet, perhaps they will be worth something in future.

Thanks for this info, but maybe just like the rest of us, I'm not familiar with this so called AI coins. I know that this is a recent buzz word in crypto as well and perhaps it was due to ChatGPT and other AI out there, but if you are going to look at it, this could be a hit or miss for us.

What I mean is similar to P2E in the beginning, it was one of the hottest and then it become crowded and only those who are prime movers like Axie did enjoy, but once it gets saturated, the market becomes messy. So this is still 50/50 to me so we should be careful if we are going to invest on them, just saying.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: December 29, 2022, 10:46:56 AM
~~~
Anyhow, he is in jail and there are news that there are death threats as well but we are not sure how reliable that news it.
~~~

Bankman Fraud is not in jail. He spent only a few hours in remand custody and was quickly released to "house arrest" by judge Gabriel W. Gorenstein. He immediately purchased a business class flight ticket to travel to his Palo Alto(California) home and is spending his time devouring gourmet seafood and doing online gambling. His parents have arranged top-class security for him, paid by stolen money. His attorney has announced that he will enter plea sometime next week. There are 8 charges of fraud and conspiracy against him and he has the option to either plead guilty or fight the charges.

Regardless though, I think he might be in jail for a long time if proven guilty, and it seems this might be the case. I mean, the US shouldn't allow this kind of personality to get a bail and then roam around and probably win the case.

I'm thinking he will fight the charges, either case, it's a lose-lose for him, in my opinion. And hopefully justice could be served here not just for those big investors he screw up, but just ordinary crypto enthusiast.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: December 28, 2022, 09:34:05 PM
I'm not a lawyer but I'm thinking this scenario

1. Davis appeared in court, pleads No Contest and maybe the judge will just issue him a community service and pay?
2. Davis settle this out of court and pay the victim?

So possible that his tune up with Hector Garcia will not happened, but the biggest fight against Ryan Garcia can still push through around April-May if his lawyer can get him a good deal, without longer jail sentence, hopefully.
1488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 28, 2022, 09:19:47 PM
Suns has clear rivalry with Dallas this season so we can say decently that they have an ongoing rivalry since there games always heated up especially when Luka and  Devin Booker has engage on trashtalks on their recent games.  But let see how far they can go since somehow its exciting to see Mavs vs Suns will face  on finals series.

I agree that facing these two teams in the Western Conference Finals would be interesting to see, but it's hard to predict at this point where they will meet each other in the playoffs. I mean that the Suns and Mavs' places in the standings could change significantly by the end of the regular season, given that they are currently in 5th and 6th place, respectively.

Well they can face in the second round of the playoff if everything sets up right, and would love to see that rivalry again.

As for Luka taking over the game, yeah, that's his forte, but I don't think he can do it consistently every night, and maybe he just woke up that day and feeling pump by the crowd and that's why they were able to come back in that rally. It's more of the Knicks thinking that they have this game already, but then become nervous when they see Luka coming and then that sequences of events that force the game into OT. And after that the Knicks are spent in the OT, letting the Mavs takes over the game from them.
1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is how altcoins performed in 2022 on: December 26, 2022, 10:49:42 AM
This has been one of my worst year with crypto, and that performance is a proof that bear dominates the whole year. Hoping to see at least a small progress for those top altcoins, we should see the recovery next year or else we might see another negative performance for many altcoins and even with Bitcoin. On a positive site, this could be a perfect timing to buy more good altcoins, they are still cheap right now so better to grab this opportunity.
Many lose their confidence about altcoins, and that is because of many negative issues with the top project before and seeing this percentage is a proof that the market is not doing well and one of the worst bear market. The next trend will surely about bull trend because we can’t stay bear forever so its good to buy some now, and maybe next year will be the start of a small pump that can trigger bull run.
While it is true that the market will at some point get out of this bear market this is not true for every single coin out there, there are many coins which will collapse before the new bull market comes and many others will remain flat even when an altcoin season appeared, with this in mind we must be extremely careful if your goal is to buy altcoins and then obtain higher profits than what you can get with bitcoin, as it is almost impossible to know which altcoins outside the top 100 will survive and which ones will disappear.

Dead to be exact, majority of them who has enjoyed success on the bull run because investors are blindly investing on some of them because they can give x amount of returns, which it did for some because that is the bull run.

But worst comes to worst, the bear market will eliminate everything that has been used as pump and dump scheme. So yeah, majority might die, and only the best coin survived with use case and has the support and consensus of the community.
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: December 26, 2022, 10:26:21 AM
Although Tszyu question whether Charlo's injury is true, there has been pictures of Jermell already in the social media,

https://twitter.com/Boxingego/status/1607209783890788354

No doubt, it seems that his injury is real and that fight is already in January 2023. We are happy that it's going to be a banger at the start of the year, unfortunately, this boxers are also prone to hand injuries even at sparring and training.
1491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 26, 2022, 09:54:28 AM
Good win by the Warriors at home, beating their rival Memphis at Chase center. Jordan Poole lead the Warriors until he was ejected with this second technical fouls. Klay Thompson seems to be very hot in this game, he even taunts Dillon Brooks.

We love to see this kind of energy from the Warriors though, Thompson should lead the team if ever they will go on a winning streak this season without Steph Curry.

This two are bringing out the best out of them, according to Klay himself and it's good to see this kind of competition.
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could this be the bottom of Bitcoin? on: December 26, 2022, 09:37:12 AM
I have to say all of the panic and worrying about the price of BTC I see online right now does remind me of the crypto crash of 2018. At some point in early 2018, I remember BTC dropping around 10k probably because of regulatory fears.

Yeah, very similar, with a lot of selling pressures this early like 2018 and the price really on a decline, remember ETH hitting $80 that time, very low and we thought that it will still go down.

There was also a lot of resistance from some financial institutions like JP Morgan back then that I think contributed to the pessimism. However, all the doubters were proved wrong; the blockchain and crypto were adopted globally by governments, organizations and financial institutions.
The point is, it all worked out and the correction was short lived. I predict the same correction again when the global economy starts a recovery.

But it took years before we can suddenly get over that 2018 feeling, 2020 covid-19 but then there was a sudden pour of price, thanks to Elon and then El Salvador as well being the prime example of countries adopting bitcoin. Hopefully there will be just another repeat of the history in 2024-2025 as we can see a growth and recovery.
1493  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin survived the Christmas market pressure on: December 25, 2022, 08:38:02 PM
The FED announcement has something to do with it if the price moves up to $20k sooner. BTC is related to what will be the economy be like as dictated by the FED.

We can only hope that there will be a recovery of $20.000, another 2 months I think before it could go up again. Winter will squeeze the money out of people's pockets. Do you think people using thier Holiday bonus to buy BTC?

And as far as I remember, with the FED pivot the price goes to $18k above. However, as soon as there is a FUD on Binance's reserves then the price goes down hard to $16k++ and that's where we are right now.

As far as going bullish this 2023, I highly doubt it, maybe a few occasional runs to $20k, but that will be the biggest resistant for now (usually whole numbers are), so it will be interesting a break out that could happen next year and so if it goes to $22k, we might be in a bullish phase, but let's see, really hard to predict as there are factors that can really affect the price movement.
1494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: December 25, 2022, 08:12:36 PM
In my mind Its very hard or we can say little bit impossible to predict that bear market is over or something else. In previous days when Bitcoin confirm his support approximately above the 20k everyone told and show indication that bear market is about to over and now we will move toward previous All Time High to break. But everything goes against him and the main reason was FTX scam as a result many of trader liquidate  Thier funds who follow the statement, so you must do much research before trade rather than following the footsteps of others

So far, there are no signs that the bear market is over, moreover, they are constantly trying to show us negative news that does not allow bitcoin to start its upward movement. I think that after this accumulation zone, we will have a final downward movement, but it is difficult to say where bitcoin will fall to what mark. But I wouldn't be surprised if we see a price of 10k.
All predictions indicate that the coming year will be worse than its predecessors for the crypto market and the global economy as a whole. The bad news will not stop recurring, given that the decline in the Bitcoin market directly serves banks and fiat money dealers. Most likely, the price did not improve until the next halving. What happened during the last period of the fourth quarter of this year was catastrophic in a way that the market could not recover quickly from.

Yes, there are still a lot of events that can affect not just bitcoin, but traditional market as well. The war between Russia vs Ukraine and it could still escalate even further till next year. And the longer we have this war, the longer that everyone will suffer. Although there is sign the some economies of other country is taking off post-Covid, most likely it will take a lot of time before we can fully recover, just saying. So the bear market will still continue in 2023 so we should prepare for the worst, because it will be unpleasant for the majority specially if we touch another lowest low.
Economic issues or negative events could really neither  give or not give some impact on crypto market this is why it is really hard to guess and really hard to make out some step due to unpredictability.

Economic issues will definitely have an impact to us and every market as I have said. Every market is connected to each other, probably the same investors on both sides are playing their money here. So if we have bad economy around, people are not willing to invest because they want it to stabilized first.

If we do speak about ending of bear market then this is something that you cant really be able to consider on point considering that there are lots of fake pumps or to those casual increase of price
on a certain situation which people whom do believe that this might be the start of the reversal which is something that dont happen most of the time.

There's no way we could able to determine if its already over or we are still needing to wait for more longer years or months to come.

Well if you look at it's past historical logs, the catalyst for a bull run is the block halving. So most likely bear market will continue next year but by 2024 around the first quarter of the next or after the block halving, we might see an end to this long bear market.

Speaking of Casimero, the decision was turn over no contest to knockout by the KBM (Korea Boxing Member's Commission).

Source: https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/othersports/855186/casimero-vs-akaho-result-overturned-to-knockout/story/

Not sure though how will this affect those who bet on Casimero winning by knockout, will casino's also turn over their decision and give the winnings to the bettors? I'm asking this because this is the first time that I see this happening for a a long time.
Thank you for the update bro.
I was expecting that to happen but I didn't know the association will be that fast to investigate and conclude the winner of that fight.
It was too obvious, we all know who won that game.
Now, this will give a push for Casimero for his next battle. Will it be Inoue? If he will stay and try to defend his title then there's a chance they will meet.
Or does Casimero need to fight one more boxer to rank up and reach him?

Maybe the Korean boxing commission was really ashamed on what they see on the Japanese fighter and that's why a swift investigation and reversal of the decision. And Akaho admitted that it he was not really hit behind his head so that admission is enough for them to overturn.

I doubt that Casimero will get Inoue, it seems though that Bob Arum is pushing for Naoya to get an immediate title shot against Fulton.

Although it might hurt those in line, but Top Rank is powerful promotion and could do that to the boxing organizations to request that fight immediately. And it's a good match as well, fans are going to be happy if this fight is going to be made once Inoue moves up.

And Akaho should pay for the embarrassment he gave towards the boxing community because he robbed Casimero's chance to win on that very same day and celebrate afterwards but Ryo Akaho is quite wise to retire first before he was given some penalties as he knew that his career was already over the moment he faked what happened in the ring.

And we are correct after all, he was just acting inside the ring, and what an act, he should have fought until he gets knockout by Casimero. But then again he doesn't want to get embarrassed, but it backfired on him as all the fans who are watching in the arena and around the world saw what really happen and then as you have said, the brandish Casimero could celebrate by he take it away. But I guess justice for John Riel has been served and he won by KO in the records. Now let's wait for their next move on who is their next fight, obviously Inoue is the next target but Casimero can fight anyone at 122 lbs and make a name in this division.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2022, 12:30:21 PM
Until there are changes in the Lakers roster, I am not giving them a serious chance of landing the 8th spot, although I am not taking it away the chance to secure a playoff spot thru the play-ins.
That will only happen if Westbrook will get traded, they might benefit from the drama of the Chicago Bulls, and maybe Westbrook will be traded for Lavine or DeRozan, who knows, right? Davis, on the other hand, has only one problem, which is his inconsistency to stay healthy which is definitely not his fault, however, the faith of the Lakers every season heavily relied upon him.

I think anyone of this trade could happen before the deadline in February, if Lakers wanted to get a roster upgrade or a new team mate for Lebron. I know that Westbrook name has been coming out even last season or before the start, but there are no chances from him, or not what the Lakers expect him to be, so they might as well trade him.

For AD, it's the cycle around his body, wear and tear, always injured when they were about to make a run. But the thing is, will the Bulls think he is still worth huge some of money and then them letting either of their stars for AD?
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: December 25, 2022, 12:11:48 PM
Or maybe he is just focusing on boxing to conquer his depression and other mental problems that will lead him in an unwanted situation, either way, I'm glad that he is looking sharp and back in business to face the heavy names. This maybe his first time but I know that he can do this properly because every champion was once a challenger too, so there's really a first time for everything. I just hope that there would be no problems along the way.
He started his journey too early, he received too much attention at a young age, in addition, there is a lot of tension before the fights, so not everyone is able to endure such psychological stress. But it is clear that he coped well with this, that what does not kill us makes us stronger. Whether he is ready for the battle with the Tank is a very difficult question. When I watch an interview with Garsis, I see that he believes that he is ready, and this is very important, but I see that Tank is a more experienced opponent and he is stronger at the moment.

As long as he is ready, expect a 100% performance of Garcia. He cannot make an excuse that he is dealing with a mental problem if he losses his fight, this is big for him, so as an undefeated fighter, he will certainly make sure to continue that way. Tank is definitely a tough opponent, but about the experience, I think it's not a big deal.

Ryan already said that he is already ok mentally, he has won fights already so I don't think it will be an excuse if ever he losses the fight. On the contrary, he said that he will skip the tune up because he wants to focus more on Tank Davis, it shows that he is laser focus and motivated.

24 yrs old vs 28 yrs old, both are young boxers and champions, this is very unpredictable.

Both are young and still at their prime, so age here is not a deciding factor. As far experience goes though, I will give a slight edge to Tank Davis.

But as you have said, it's very unpredictable, hard to see who will prevail because they are both exciting fighters and capable to knock each other.

Making a simple prediction...  I think that those selling now will be the ones buying our BTC back in 2025 well into the six figure exchange rate.

Isn't it ironic though, the same person that panics and then later down the road, they don't missed and FOMO, when they starts to see the price moving and making new all time high in 2024-2025.

They'll complain about all the scams and how they were forced to sell, but the real reason is that most people in this space nowadays came for easy money, and there hasn't been any easy money here for the last year, so they're all gone.  Some holding their bags with hope and others dumping and cursing crypto.  Me, I like vocally doing the opposite of everyone else and then listening to the excuses later on.  Stack sats and you will be happy about it in the future, that's a good prediction.

Yeah, they really don't know what to do, or just heard bitcoin from someone bought at the top price. Going to be very expensive lessons for them. But hey, someone needs to start something and probably it's the best lesson they can learn here before making money in the next bull run.

Interesting rumor that Zach LaVine is trying to force his way out of Chicago and into a contract with the Lakers.  I honestly don't see how this would work out with a trade, but it's fun to speculate about.  The crazy thing is that DeRozan wants to be a Laker also.  With the Lakers not having much to offer but Anthony Davis, it seems unlikely that a swap for LaVine would work and this is interesting because the Lakers have been trying to get DeRozan with a trade, and now the Bulls have 2 guys that want to play for the Lakers...  This is going to be one rumor filled trading window.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-rumors-zach-lavine-is-forcing-his-way-to-the-lakers/ar-AA15BD0a

Yeah, read that rumors as well, I was really surprised that Lavine wanted out of the Bulls, since he was being made to be the face of the franchise. But it looks like he was frustrated on how the teams are turning specially last season when they got DeRozan because they expecting that they will make a final push.

They do good in the beginning, but when injuries keeps piling up, barely made it to the playoff last year and then exited on the first round.

And this season, it's worst for them.
