1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SlowMist: Investigation of North Korean APT’s Large-Scale Phishing Attack on NFT on: January 02, 2023, 12:35:37 PM
I haven't read the blog, but this is what we know about the North Korean's as they are very active in the crypto market, using sophisticated phishing attacks to every exchange specially their counter part, the South Korean and they have successful hack them for millions already.

And they have their very well known and documented phishing group which is known to the US as Lazarus group. This group has been attributed to many attacks even before they hone in to the crypto market.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Boxing) Kazuto Ioka vs Joshua Boxing Match Begins 31 December 2022 on: January 02, 2023, 12:15:19 PM

if they will have a rematch, should not be in Japan as you said, should be in the neutral ground. seems that there was bit of a bias regarding the results. though the judges were from south africa, new zealand and puerto rico.  franco may have won if it was not in japan. maybe.
if they will schedule a rematch, much better if it will be this year or next year. a KO would surely give a clear winner next time around.

True, that is to prevent from what happened in this fight, a rematch is necessary because the fans are not convinced with the judges decision, Franco should have won the fight, and instead of complaining about the result, maybe a rematch is the best thing to do to determine the real winner.

Yes, I do agree, it shouldn't be in Japan wherein Ioka is very much comfortable or at least we don't want to see another biased scoring from the judges. Might better if this is held in the US and so it will be the other way around and we will see if Ioka is that good even fighting in a place wherein he is not comfortable. Franco is the victim here so hopefully he will be the one to choose the venue and hopefully this will be in US. The best thing to do to really determine who is the winner of this fight is to have a rematch and for sure this 2 fighters want that to happen.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 02, 2023, 05:49:43 AM
Alexander Zverev has now made his first game at the United Cup in Australia. Unfortunately he lost it. He lost against #81 Lehecka in two sets with 4:6 and 2:6. His serve in particular had many errors and he probably needs a lot more match practice. That a not good conditions for the Australian Open.
Young Jiri Lehecka 21 years of age have won against Alexander Zverev 6-4 and 6-2 which is completely unexpected. As said this is not what is being expected for the Australian Open. There is big expectation around and these kind of performance will disappoint the followers. Lets see what gonna happen next with the new year.

And that is why we talk about this new set of tennis players, they need to be consistent if they want to remain on top.

Although this is just a tune up for Zverev, it not good to look at his resume if he will be beaten by a #81 rank player in Lehecka. On the contrary, just shows that maybe Jiri is good for the next couple of years and maybe a candidate to have a break through this year.

Let's see some tune up tournaments, perhaps tennis player are still not in their from at the start of this year though, just saying.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 02, 2023, 05:15:07 AM
^ Not just a triple double, but Jokic had a near flawless night in Denver’s win over the Celtics. He shot 100% from 3 point range, 100% from the free throw line, and had 0 turnovers. He missed 3 of 13 shots otherwise he would have had a game for the record books. 30/12/12 isn’t bad either. Denver is going to cause some problems in the postseason this year.

True, and they are still on the top of West division, Grizzlies defeating the Pels resulting in a tie between this 2 teams in the second spot. And with Jokic putting this numbers, gonna be hard to see who will be the MVP as Luka is also having a statistical season, anyway still that far to talk about the MVP. What's important is that Nuggets maintain this run of them, with a healthy Murray and then Porter also back in their line up now, gonna be hard to beat this team when this kind of support system of Nikolai.
1465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: January 01, 2023, 12:40:10 PM
I voted for $20000 - $30000.

Probably for me this is the best scenario, I mean prior to the FTX collapse we are just about in the $20k levels. And we all know that this is the biggest support, that round numbers and most likely this might be the target of the bulls for at least the whole of next year and highs around $30k.

The price though is still very bearish and that's what we should be expecting for next year. Price could be on another sideway pattern.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: January 01, 2023, 11:39:47 AM
^^ It doesn't matter though if that picture has been doctored or photoshop, the mere fact that he has gamble the money of others, not literally the gambling that he had to bet on a gambling site or casino, just playing along the money that he doesn't owns and loaning it to others, that is already gambling per se to me.

And if by chance he really took the money of other people and gamble it bigtime and think he will win and be able to payback, then something is really wrong with this guy. Specially given the powers that he had that time, billions of dollars, maybe he thinks he can get away with it without any consequences.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers that don't understand basic gambling concepts. on: January 01, 2023, 11:16:28 AM
If people understand the concept of gambling that easy, then maybe there will be less gamblers as well?

The thing is even if they have this concepts in mind, I think they will still go and risk and maybe play to have some fun only, or maybe the only concept that they will hold is how lucky/unlucky they will be in they gamble. Even in we take for example sports betting, you only look at the odds for the favorite and the underdog, and yet the risk for the underdog is high but there are still people who are willing to take the risk and bet on that long shot.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Boxing) Kazuto Ioka vs Joshua Boxing Match Begins 31 December 2022 on: January 01, 2023, 11:01:00 AM
I look at the compubox numbers and it seems that it is also close, Franco throws a lot of punch, but Ioka is more consistent.

Nevertheless, since this is Japan so expect some biases judge in favor of the hometown hero. I know it's kinda disappointed to see a fight end in a draw with no winner and both keeping the belts, but the judge score is final here and will not be reverse in my opinion. Good fight though to end the year and most likely there could be a rematch so settle once and for all the winner between this two warriors.
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto (btc) is not for the weak on: January 01, 2023, 10:45:05 AM
I don't think this investors feared crypto's bear market for this year,  I mean majority of them have been here since the 2018-2020 crash so this is not new to them. And I do agree that there is no correlation between Bitcoin and the presentation laid out by the OP, so it's sort of misleading. The events listed is due to the bear market itself that we always suffered because this is how the market operates, so it's cyclical for them, and as the saying goes, sometimes to win, sometimes you lose. So they will take this lose maybe till next year, but then after that, in the next bull run, this individuals will then make a lot of, sort of rebounding from what they are going to right now.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting events in 2022 on the crypto market on: December 31, 2022, 05:49:43 PM
It's obvious that the Terra Luna was the first black swan and it really did harm the market, and then the finale for this year, FTX collapses pushing the market even further down to a new lower lows at $15k.

But as others said, we may have been tested for this year, but we are still and very much alive and very optimistic that we can pass this all over and then will go for another all time high and it could be the biggest and the first time in history, when we reach 6 digits in the next bull run.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Rank positions on CMC changes every bull market? on: December 30, 2022, 08:43:52 PM
What is the crypto projects in top 20 that will fail to retain their position in the next bull market? There is a saying that in every bull market new projects will take over the top 20, do you think another project can rob the positions that Avalanche, Matic, Polkadot and Solana tomorrow?

Yeah, that usually happens, in 2017's bull run, there are a lot of projects, very good one that is in the top 10-20. But during the bear market, some of them went -90% and was not able to recover in time and when we reach the bull run in 2022, they are either dead or just didn't get the support of their investors just like years ago.

So again, it's cyclical, it's hard to maintain position in top because the market is very competitive, only good projects like the obvious, BTC and ETH could remain, while the rest, their could be a lot of changed in the positions. And yeah, if there is project that offers another alternative to the crypto that you mentioned, they could be relegated down below and replace by new one in the future.
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: December 30, 2022, 08:23:32 PM
If Tim doesn't want a easy fight then yes, he can go after Harrison, but this time Harrison doesn't need to travel to Australia, they can fight stateside. But that is still up to them, again it's a high risk low reward for Tim and probably will like someone outside of the top 5 fighters so that there will be no derail on his fight against Charlo. Because if Harrison defeats him, then most likely the fight will Charlo will not have the safe effect obviously and it might not do good in the PPV as fans is not going to be interested anymore.
1473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 30, 2022, 08:07:07 PM
Right now, Houston is in rebuilding mode, they are building young superstars like Jallen Green and Porter Jr. so Harden will be stealing the spotlight from them.
Those young stars will learn so much from James Harden as well, so it will be alright to steal their spotlight for a while. Harden has a lot of experience, if he can teach those young guns, maybe they will be successful in Houston. But if he goes back to Houston, Harden may delay his championship aspiration. He is already 33, I do not think he can wait for those two to major and get into their prime. Let's see this summer if he will pursue going back to Houston.
Latest news I could find is that Harden answered the rumours and saying they are doing great in Sixers as a team and he doesn't know where the rumours came from. But there were so many news about this, I don't think it could be just a rumour, isn't it? If this came true, it would be a very bold move. I don't think Rockets want this kind of trade. But, on the other hand, they have too many young and high potential players. Sometimes a team has a game plan, but sometimes the desired goal cannot be reached due to the inexperience of the players and sometimes the inadequacy of the players. Sometimes a team doesn't have any game plan but you rely on the skills and/or experience of the players but the desired goal cannot be achieved. Rockets has neither a game plan nor a talented and/or experienced roster. Young people in their hands do not have the chance to develop or mature in such an environment. The best that jalen green can get in his career is j.r smith, if he has the right pieces on his side. He plays like an ordinary player who doesn't have game intelligence, who trusts his athleticism and isolation games if he has a day. The sad part is that this man was selected number 2 in the 2021 drafts, ahead of Evan Mobley and Scottie Barnes. I find the Harden news for Rockets too unnecessary. He is also too old.

Probably it could have steam from Harden playing great again with the Sixers, and you know that there will be rumors surrounding him when his detractors find him very successful at least for him.

Nevertheless, I will agree that he doesn't have to go back to Houston, he is perfectly fitting into the Sixers system and this could be his last chance to become a champion with a prime Joel Embiid. He can't waste any more time as he is coming to a stage wherein in the next couple of years, his game could go down anytime.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 30, 2022, 01:04:44 PM
Theoretically the way I look at it is that Nadal and Djokovic have pretty much developed their
game to the max whereas the younger generation and in particular Alcaraz are still developing.

Could be, we are already in 2022 era, so most likely this old guard will have to retire because they have max their potential already. To the point that when they tried, their body is no longer responding to them, the way we see on Federer and then it starts to deteriorate, wear and tear on this body caught up with the. But the good news is that we have a new set of players going to take over from them.

I would like to think that Alcaraz in 2023 will be much better than 2022 and should pose more
of a threat to everyone including Djokovic.

I agree, by leaps and bounds, sure in 2022 he had a break out run, but Alcaraz would dominate next year just like Djokovic did when he was younger. So it's good to see the old and the young generations fighting it out in any of the Grand Slams for next year.

That is something to really look forward to. The older generation and the next generation are playing at a better level than they did 10 years ago. The older players are losing their energy more slowly than the players 10 years ago. I always find it interesting to see how a new generation grows up and how the older players slowly understand that their time is over.

We only have the last 2 standing, Federer has retired and it seems that Rafa might be the next one, his body is also not doing good specially in the surface that he specialized because it really put a lot of stress.

So it might just be Djokovic against all new comers, he could be good for at least 2 years to battle and fought against the young generations lead by Alcaraz. So definitely next year will be an litmus test for them against Djokovic and to some extend Nadal if he can still play at clay.

@kemarit I strongly believe that Nadal and Djokovic will both play at least for one more year, but in 2024 either one of them or both could possibly call it quits as their bodies are barely keeping up these days. Furthermore I’m keen to see who’ll be the long term champion, because so far I don’t see any consistency in the current set of player’s and which makes me wonder if the records set by these 3 will ever be broken?.

For me it will be Djokovic who might stay a bit as obviously he is the younger of the big 3 and his worst injury if I'm not mistaken was in 2019, but he was able to come back win another slam and it was smooth sailing for him tennis wise, (not decision wise though like his covid stance).

As for the new set of players, again this is just me, it could still be Alcaraz, and he could be the most consistent of this new breed of players who wants to take over as the news set of big 3. But I do agree though, consistency will be the key for them to stay on top and be competitive.
1475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: December 30, 2022, 12:18:34 PM
In a bear market though, any positive news will not be felt, just like when we hear about Brazil's legalization, the price didn't move on the contrary, it just move sideways, meaning no effect at all and on the contrary, it just go down a bit as we speak.

But if this news happens in the bull market, for sure a minimum jump of 5% will happen as soon as this news was released.

Anyhow, bear market is not over, and it could stay for a the whole year, 2023.
I agree about 2022, but there are big questions about 2023. I believe we can expect something different in 2023, it's about market recovery. I am still very optimistic that the market will recover soon in 2023 and it is quite possible that $20K will be support then.

So far it seems hard to see the market moving more than 5% at any one time, but I'm not really expecting that now as I still want to collect more bitcoin at low prices. Either way I still believe that the current drop in bitcoin price is part of a cycle, and it will end. No doubt, this is coming soon and I hope you all stay on the same train, meaning don't sell during the price down.

I guess there's nothing wrong to be optimistic in the next year, after all we really don't know what's next for us in 2023. On the flip side, if there will be another bear market, then obviously it will mean a decline again, so it could be in along the $10k-$13k worst case scenario, or a few bounce and maybe $25k-$30k if there is some good news around.

So for the best thing to do in this kind of situation is just like what you said, accumulate as much as we can, and then be prepared on both end. If the price decline then take advantage of the situation. If the price goes up, then DCA and still look for the long term or at least the next bull run.
1476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Max match & odd in Parlay/Multi on: December 29, 2022, 08:45:01 PM
By the way, some casinos offer live betting, and if a basketball quarter is a tie they pay x15, if you parlay 3 draws and win all of them that would be an x1000. But you need a lot of luck to win it.

I haven't seen 3 draws (tie score) though in an NBA games, so that is rare, but if you hit it, that's going to be a nice odds. Sportsbet offer 18.00 for a time score after the end of regulation pre-game bet, while Stake offers 15.00.

I think the biggest parlay I win is just around 7.x or higher in an NBA games way back, it's a 5 match parlay, and yes, we need a lot of luck to win that games and probably I was just fortunate.
1477  Other / Archival / Re: 2022 was the second worst year for Bitcoin on: December 29, 2022, 07:47:42 PM
I would go further and say this was the worst year ever for Bitcoin.  We've never seen such a prolonged drop below the 200 day moving average and it looks like it isn't done yet.  With the world readying for recession and Bitcoin seemingly falling off a cliff, things are going to be pretty dicey over the next 2 years.  I only hope that Bitcoin is able to survive and bounce back again.  It isn't going to be easy this time with CBDCs on the way along with plenty of regulation to try and rip coins from user's hands.  I will admit I'm nervous about this cycle, but we'll see what happens soon enough.

I can't remember but 2018 was much worst for me personally, but this year though, a lot of things really happen that really affected the market in general, and the thing is, we don't even have control over it. If the price change was due to FUD like way back, after a few days, and when things settle down, everything will be back to normal. But not in this case, a lot of event pushes the market even further and yeah, probably making this the worst year for us. But if I'm going to look at the price side, maybe the equivalent is that we will enjoy a huge success in the next bull run and yes, we might see 6 digits minimum.
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are good AI coins to buy and HODL? on: December 29, 2022, 07:23:28 PM
Well I did a quick search on coingecko and the search came up with few top Ai coins and among them are-
*Matrix AI Network (MAN)
*Fetch.ai (FET)
*Artificial Liquid Intelligence (ALI)
*Vectorspace AI (VXV)
and many more, although I do not know anything about these projects yet so you should probably do some more research on any of them. To be honest, I never knew anything about AI projects until now. There are not much hype on these projects yet, perhaps they will be worth something in future.

Thanks for this info, but maybe just like the rest of us, I'm not familiar with this so called AI coins. I know that this is a recent buzz word in crypto as well and perhaps it was due to ChatGPT and other AI out there, but if you are going to look at it, this could be a hit or miss for us.

What I mean is similar to P2E in the beginning, it was one of the hottest and then it become crowded and only those who are prime movers like Axie did enjoy, but once it gets saturated, the market becomes messy. So this is still 50/50 to me so we should be careful if we are going to invest on them, just saying.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BANKMAN-FRIED PANIC GAMBLES TO REPAY DEBT on: December 29, 2022, 10:46:56 AM
~~~
Anyhow, he is in jail and there are news that there are death threats as well but we are not sure how reliable that news it.
~~~

Bankman Fraud is not in jail. He spent only a few hours in remand custody and was quickly released to "house arrest" by judge Gabriel W. Gorenstein. He immediately purchased a business class flight ticket to travel to his Palo Alto(California) home and is spending his time devouring gourmet seafood and doing online gambling. His parents have arranged top-class security for him, paid by stolen money. His attorney has announced that he will enter plea sometime next week. There are 8 charges of fraud and conspiracy against him and he has the option to either plead guilty or fight the charges.

Regardless though, I think he might be in jail for a long time if proven guilty, and it seems this might be the case. I mean, the US shouldn't allow this kind of personality to get a bail and then roam around and probably win the case.

I'm thinking he will fight the charges, either case, it's a lose-lose for him, in my opinion. And hopefully justice could be served here not just for those big investors he screw up, but just ordinary crypto enthusiast.
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: December 28, 2022, 09:34:05 PM
I'm not a lawyer but I'm thinking this scenario

1. Davis appeared in court, pleads No Contest and maybe the judge will just issue him a community service and pay?
2. Davis settle this out of court and pay the victim?

So possible that his tune up with Hector Garcia will not happened, but the biggest fight against Ryan Garcia can still push through around April-May if his lawyer can get him a good deal, without longer jail sentence, hopefully.
