Now imagine if these cops were wearing cameras . Imagine if there was a standard procedure that 2 cops had to search a car on opposite sides and film each other any moment so that no one of them could "plant" anything . Imagine if surveillance cameras existed in the place where traffic stops taking place so cops would know that their body camera videos are timestamped with the surveillance cameras that exist at the spot .

So all this money is spent to achieve what exactly? body-worn cameras provide an overview of the overall incident and that's it, I can still manage to slide a tiny Ecstasy pill under my car seat while being watched by 10 cameras, in fact, in of the cases the went public after another officer confessed what his co-worker told him was that he held a drug pill between his fingers, reached to the victim's pocket to search and and "found the pill".

This would only work effectively if the procedure states that policemen have to approach the vehicle naked, with their legs and fingers spread, mouth open (probably add a mount-camera too), but as long as there is the slightest possibility that the policeman can slide a tiny little object in your pocket/car/house then the whole process is flawed.

This is the very reason why the previous legislators wrote the rules in such a way that at least a few different organizations/departments need to coordinate in order to frame you, you need to have a bad cop and a bad prosecutor working together to frame you which is pretty much unlikely to happen compared to when a single person can arrange everything by themselves.

Quote
So the problem is not that police is searching your car , but that the system is set up in such a way that it can be easily manipulated .

No, the problem is the police searching my car without a warrant, as explained above, cameras won't cut it, it would only make things a little bit more difficult but sure thing is -- it won't stop them.

In blockchain you can prove if you're innocent or not . Your transactions are the evidence .

You can't, anyone can frame you just like the drug example, say that I have a blacklisted address which the Chain analysis assumes that it belongs to me as an international terrorist who caused the death of 10000 people, what happens when I send a few sats to an address which you owned and confirmed ownership to it by KYCing yourself to the government, how are you going to prove that you were not in contact with me and that I sent you the coins to frame you?

Furthermore, if your funds sit on a CEX, not only they can partially frame you like that, but they could fully frame you by sending you "Tainted Bitcoin" and then withdrawing the same "tainted coins" to another address owned by you, this will be a perfect evidence that you and I are partners if we were to go with the assumption that those coins were indeed owned by me.

It's even worse if you think about it, there doesn't need to be an actual terrorist involved, the chain analysis company can just link those coins to anyone, they can just send you some random coins and they could just assume that you received them in exchange for trafficking a 10-year old boy, how are you going defend yourself against that when we don't know how they got to the conclusion and they won't share the "how" with anyone?

If you initiate a transaction that has two outputs one is 0.005655 and another has 0.001 all these chain analysis software will assume that the first output is the change address just because they believe it's impossible to end up with a change that is a round number, you could always fool these fools by ending up with a round change, everything else they build on it, later on, will be false, it is all but guesswork, greater for research purposes but terrible for court evidence.

So you want a safe community which is great, but you think all criminals are in the street you need to remember that many criminals are in government offices waiting to exploit anything against you, they would protect you from the street criminals but nothing will protect you from them, the more power you give them they more they will use it against you, not just against the criminals.

A safe world is achieved by increasing the standard of living not by spying on every aspect of the citizens' lives, there is no link between the cities with the most CCTV systems and low crime levels, and the opposite is correct, many cities are hardly watched and yet they have little no crimes.

.... and then we hear a story of an innocent person who was arrested and sentenced to a few months/years over something the law enforcement put in his car

Honest question before i proceed to a full reply , how do we know that guy is innocent ?

We know for sure because in some cases some other evidence were revealed, an example of that would be one of law enforcement officers telling the truth about thier partners either because they feel guilty or for some other personal reasons, but ya it happens all the time.

I am literally telling you that any random policeman can frame you pretty easily, just one pill of drug and you do a year in prison, you have to count on the integrity and honesty of everyone who has the power to frame you, you have no idea how scared people are when a police officer pull them over, you could end up doing a full a year in prison for "consuming drugs" and 5+ for selling it, if said officer has access to a large quantity of drugs they can put that in your car and you spend 5 good years in jail.

"extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence", since this is someone's life and freedom, if the evidences are even remotely questionable -- they mean exactly nothing.
525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Analytics is More of an Art Than Science on: October 25, 2023, 02:47:12 AM
You claim that surveillance doesn't help while many crimes have been solved thanks to it ( private surveillance or not ) . You say that it doesn't prevent them . If these criminals aren't arrested will they commit new crimes ? So , if a criminal is arrested after a crime aren't his not yet executed crimes prevented ? Of course to understand such things you have to leave your personal beliefs on the side and it's obvious you don't do that .
You aren't interested about privacy , you want a society without rules ( especially if this benefits you )

In my country, many decades ago it was illegal for the police force to search your car without a warrant from the office of the attorney general or court, the lawmakers didn't seem to like that so they started changing it slightly one step at a time.

The first change was that the search was legal without a warrant, but unless they found a firearm in your car -- there was nothing much they could do about anything else they found, so there were many cases of police force searching a car that was being used in transporting a serious sum of drugs, they arrest the driver alongside the drugs, send them to court and the case will be dismissed right way as soon as the driver says " the drugs are not mine".

The next change they made was to include the "drugs" next to the firearms, so now you could be randomly checked at any checkpoint or even while getting pulled over for no reason, and if you got any drugs in the car it would be treated as if the search happened based on a court warrant, this lead to an increase of the number of drug dealers in prison by a few orders of magnitude, and then all the naive people were happy about the law change.

The next thing you know is that any police officer can stop you at any place, arrest you, take you to the general attorney's office, and say "We found this MDMA pill in his car" and just like that -- you get a few years in jail.

Years have passed since the change of the law, and now what? the drug dealers figured out many ways of moving the drugs around, no more fancy news headlines of "arrested 5 large drug dealers today" but every now and then we hear a story of an innocent person who was arrested and sentenced to a few months/years over something the law enforcement put in his car, the people are now fighting hard to change these laws because we don't care if you now catch 500 drug dealers instead of a 100 when we don't feel safe at checkpoints, I rather see the drug dealers in every corner of the country and not be sent to jail just because some police officer doesn't like the way I talk to him.

You can reflect the same drugs related law to the money laundry b.s, while these chain analyses do certainly help in catching hackers and bad actors in general, they could also be used as a weapon against innocent people, let's imagine a scenario where the law enforcement put their hands on an address that is proven to be owned by a human trafficker based on (chain analysis b.s), they use that address to send you some BTC and then take you to court with that evidence, that would be pretty terrible for you isn't it?

It's funny because in your signature you put this great wisdom.

Quote
"It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong." Thomas Sowell

These chain analysis companies pay no price for being wrong, they just make what we can call an "educated guess" at best, and they don't have to pay the price for being wrong, this is indeed a fundamental disagreement not just related to crypto, some people think it's okay to bomb a whole building just to kill one criminal even if the collateral damage is 10 innocent people -- while others like me believe that even bombing a building with 10 criminal and 1 innocent soul is unacceptable.

where are the antminers manufactured ?

does anyone know the place of manufacture where an antminer is made ?
The manufacturer is located in Beijing. But is it also produced there?

Say: Does anyone have the address ?

THANKS

No, the manufacturer is NOT located in Beijing, that's only the headquarters "office", there is another company called Shenzhen Century Cloud Core Technologies Limited which runs under Bitmain (it manufactures the mining gears ) and is located in Shenzhen (2,000 KM away from Beijing).

Bitmain also manufactures the same ASIC miners in another factory located in Malaysia.

The same will soon apply to pools based in the European Union. It seems that when the Mica law comes into application, a KYC will be required for mining activities in EU.

The European Union has no business in Bitcoin mining, whatever operation they might have would be considerably small and not worth mentioning, so who is fool enough to set up a mining pool in EU anyway? what would they gain? tax are higher than the majority of the world, no local clients of interest, exactly nothing.

I understand why would someone start a mining pool in the U.S, because regardless of the regulation, the U.S is the largest mining hub, so being a U.S "made" mining pool would certainly have some advantages at least to the larger corps mining BTC, but in EU, I don't see why.

I guess as soon as they will start to claim that mining in a foreign pool is a form of tax evasion.  Cheesy

Oh, that would be pretty light, I hope it stops there, for all I know, they could use the terrorism, Iran, Russia, and Hamas card, which would be pretty devastating to BTC in general, a few weeks ago Binance froze a dozen Palestinians' accounts, the excuse was that they were "related to Hamas", we know who is behind that, there is only one country which has the means of forcing Binance to do that, ya politics sucks, let's hope these governments don't weaponize crypto further for personal gains.

NB : using my phone hotspot+ VPN , then sharing internet from wifi to lan with a laptop , it worked fine for almost 24H , then stopped working.
this is the exact same situation for all 5 brand new miners

So they ran just fine behind that VPN for 24 hours and then what happened? your ISP magically decryption the connection and found out that you were connecting to a mining pool and then they did what? it doesn't add up, if your ISP blocked your connection to the VPN then nothing would be accessible not just the mining pools.

I would start by using a different mining pool to make sure it isn't the other way around, i.e. it's not the pool that's blocking you.

I think I will change next contest. Start at block 800 end at block 1200.

Yes, I think the 300-block window is very small, especially if it's during the weekend if the pace is at nearly 100% then we talking 2 full days, pretty easy to miss, I follow difficulty closely every day and I almost missed the contest this time, so I'd imagine someone else who isn't as active in the mining board would most likely miss most of the contests given the short notice.

I think 4 days for the contest would be good, so anything about 600 blocks window would do, those who pick early will have the advantage of larger options, but those who pick later will have the vantage of picking something closer to the current pace, so it isn't all that unfair when you think about it.

Your game, your rules, just chiming in with thoughts to help make this contest more fun.

533  Other / Archival / Re: ➡️➡️ [ANN] | 🇹‌🇺‌🇲‌🇧‌🇱‌🇪‌🇷‌.🇮‌🇴‌ | Bitcoin Mixer ⬅️⬅️ on: October 24, 2023, 01:06:55 AM
1. I can't identify the recipient here (similar to Blockchair).

You certainly can for the transactions that had these 3 small inputs, in other words, you revealed the recipient address of my first mix.

more details:

This was my first mix

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/29cecb7abf2b2455ac842f0f2ca20bc64eeafa650244f100dc2ec248549de845

this was my address

Code:
bc1qpshee3qva79zxqllgm8z7lxtk556793c4crhkj

and this was the change address owned by you

Code:
bc1qkpgugjv55lp0my23m0txn0azww5rvxwyf8qh5p

up to this point, it's very difficult to tell which address was the change address.

And then there is this mix (not mine)

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/6d08da9665e39843ffd02d67d544e030f8ca3e4f82910a74299debbe13bab0ae

and this (not mine)

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/4b376658c9932523c06055facd620cfe243042bfc51e6697249467fbaf194f9f

All the way before the last transaction, we had no way of telling what the change address was for all of these 3 mixes, but now after this transaction

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/c9a3b09f602b02c433f11fed1e5cc5c1e1207c8c71b34539b0e01445eb04f2db

We know that these 3 inputs belong to the same person, and thus in all of the 3 previous transactions the other 3 addresses were not the change addresses.

So now I know this address

bc1qpweug4vt3pqxfyrl48huppeuhy0xl59c235jxh

and this address

bc1qscpqkpclc6vrucwfmznfzpak4r8942xhvcc2w4

were the recipients of those two transactions, you revealed this piece of info to me for no apparent good reason (or at least one which I don't see).

had you not consolidate those 3 inputs in a mixed transaction that I received, I wouldn't be able to tell the change address of the other 2 addresses (which I don't own)

Obviously, I don't know of other ways to consolidate those small inputs on-chain without revealing the same thing, eventually, when they are consolidated you would reveal the change address of all the other transactions in the same manner, it would just be harder to analyze this information had you waited a little longer before consolidating.

Furthermore, the transaction behavior itself looks suspicious, a normal transaction from a normal wallet would have only included the large input which was larger than the desired output, and the 3 smaller outputs were not even enough to match that anyway.

I do understand that most mixing isn't done so that nobody can tell it's a mixer transaction, the goal is to break the connection between the coins you send and the coins you receive, which you did manage to achieve based on my analysis, I just think that if someone is digging deeper to find out all of this info, it would be wiser to make things more difficult for them even by a small degree.

Sure, you can not get involved, you may as well - do something better with your life. But to pretend "ah these are just two different sides", is certainly over simplifying a problem that humans have struggled with for millennia. Millions have died in crusades, forced religious conversions and religious conflicts and everything that stems from that.

Based on your logic then you should stand against Israel, Israel is a Jewish state that uses religion as an excuse to perform ethnic cleansing against everyone who is not a jew, it includes Muslims, Christians, and even atheists, if you are going to use Hamas as an excuse (since this is what your biased western media teaches you) then let me inform you that Hamas doesn't extend past the Gaza strip and yet Israel has been commenting human right violation of all sorts against the Palastains of different religion in every place regardless, and these are not just my words -- every Israeli based human rights organization confirms this, the Palestinians don't want to make an Islamic or Christian state, they want to get back the lands which the Zionist Jewish took from them with the help of the British.

So ya, I couldn't agree more, religious-based wars/expansion/settling are the worst things in the world, and we should all stand against Israel.

Consider when large parts of the Arab world do drop their backward religious thought somewhat -> prosperity, women can go to school etc.

Religion and prosperity are not related by any means, the Arabs don't need to drop their religion for prosperity, you can check the GDP scale to figure that much out, and for schools, 55.8% of graduates in Saudi Arabia for example, are women. Women do go to school in ALL Arab countries, they just don't teach them about all the LGPT stuff you teach your kids, ya, and no school-shooting.

So the way I see it, you shouldn't be worrying about arab women, you got enough shit to fix at home first.

I am just asking

1- It is KYCed, meaning you need to expose your identity, and probably source of funds and that b.s to the U.S government.
2-it is way too large and shouldn't be supported any further.

So it is up to you, if you think the 1.5% difference is worth KYCing yourself or not.

The pool #2 will only be active when #1 is offline/dead.
The pool #3 will only be active when #2 is offline/dead.

Normally, almost all your shares will go to pool #1. Entering more than one is optional.

A small correction, pool 3# will only be activated when both pool #1 and pool #2 are not reachable, so think of them as
Main pool and secondary pools in order.

I think for now you should not waste more time on this, just start with Viabtc and then explore the other options.

How can you possibly think that my hashrate could be linked to some money laundering activity? A flagged BTC withdrawal
address? A large volume of hashrate rented via Nicehash that could be used to receive clean BTC from your pool?
And if you suspect this, what documents are you going to ask for?

The solution is rather simple, steer clear from any mining pool that is based in the U.S if you don't want to be KYCed. it's crazy that in a country that is known to be the land of the free, you have all the rules and regulations that would strip you of your rights to privacy under the illusion of fighting "money laundry and terrorism funding".

I wonder how long it will take for the U.S. to force every U.S. miner to use a U.S.-based mining pool.?
