561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: December 29, 2023, 10:36:01 PM
Every story you tell someone can either be a motivation or something to get them depressed. I have been thinking about this and I'd like to pass this advice to every serious gambler in this platform who has won a substantial amount of money from gambling, not to share their success story about winning to everyone and in every place. You do not know the story of every gambler, and on the face some gamblers may just look alright but in deep down they are in debt, some depressed due to addiction to gambling that is destroying them and has made them plan to quit. Your success story when shared indiscriminately may trigger and motivate this addicted gambler battling to stop to want to keep gambling, having the believe that their time is close. Be careful who and where you talk about your success in gambling, you may just be encouraging an addicted gambler to continue.
Lucas?

I think that's with anything.  You can say the same with drinking alcohol.  Tons of events coincide with alcoholic beverages.  If you have a friend or someone you know who is addicted yeah you might want to limit it but just talking about it shouldn't be a determining factor for theor relapse.  I do agree if it's severe that you should steer clear of those conversations though.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best way to know altcoin that has potential in the market cap on: December 28, 2023, 10:29:30 PM
No and that's a hard no.  Over the years tons of crap coins have had a large market cap at some point.  The biggest factor here is manipulation.  I would actually argue if there is not a lot known about the project and it has a real high market cap then I would be more skeptical of that project.
563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I dodge KYC using the his medium. on: December 28, 2023, 10:27:44 PM
Is it possible one can dodge KYC verification request after winning a big amount of money and decides not to withdraw a lump sum but bit by bit in smaller amounts. I have read many posts talking about how they wanted to withdraw the money they won but due to the amount they wanted to withdraw was big, they were asked  pass kyc verification because they never did when they first registered.

I don't think there is a one size fits all answer to this question.  Generally every casino has theor own rules but generally speaking nowadays all the legit casinos have so.e form of kyc rules when withdrawing large amounts.  Unsure of price limits for removal of funds but I'm sure gaming the system on a casino doesn't work.
564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 28, 2023, 05:15:06 PM
Meanwhile, the Pistons, the main underdogs of this regular season, lost once again, and their losing streak reached 27 games. Ironically, their next game will be against the Celtics, and it's obvious that the Pistons will have no chance to win that game. Thus, we can already say that the Pistons will repeat the 76ers' record and most likely even surpass it.

The Detroit Pistons are the laughing stock in the NBA right now for being the worst team in the history of the NBA. They are even being ridiculed that they people don't think they can easily win against the Las Vegas Aces. That next game against the Celtics would be an automatic 28 losses. The Celtics are on fire right now and there's no way they can lose against the worst team otherwise those who take the risk in putting a bet against the Celtics would get a huge win.

I don't know what's going on with the Pistons, I mean they have got young talent. Ivey, Duren, and Cunningham and they even got Bogdanovic who is an offensive threat. I think they need to change the coaching staff.

Yeah it's gotten pretty bad over there but to say they couldn't beat the aces is laughable.  They would absolutely destroy the aces.  They lost by 6 points against the Nets it's not like they are losing by 50 points every game.  Either way I do hope they get it together it's not good for the NBA having a team this bad.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 28, 2023, 05:12:43 PM
And why on earth will someone keeps gambling for fun at a time losing seriously and still continue to gamble and someone like me can't keep watching while I waste my hard earned money to gamble while keep saying I am doing that for fun indirectly I am deceiving myself no else knows how much you lost except you make it public and why must I continue to gamble even at lost I my insane or what. I don't even find it funny with the BTC network congestion to pay transactions fee talk less of using my money to keep gambling and lose then will pick up courage to say is fun.

I think you are missing the point.  If you spend $200 to watch a 3 hour concert or lose $200 in 3 hours watching a game you bet on that you otherwise would not have watched what's the difference?  The point is if your entertainment equates to the fun you have than yes you can lose gambling and have fun doing it.  I enjoy playing poker for the competition win or lose, it's entertaining.
566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 28, 2023, 05:08:49 PM
I think the problem with things like this is that it seems to involve judgement of an individual.  Who is to say if someone is mentally unstable or not?  How is this information to be obtained?  You have to watch out for slippery slopes with these sorts of things.
This kind of assessment needs to involve a psychologist expert if there is indeed a statement letter from the relevant party about the mental disorder experienced.
But of course this will not be done randomly in people who appear to have mental disorders according to our observations.

But if they are the closest people or family, it is necessary to do some checks to determine if they appear to have a mental disorder due to gambling or not, This needs to be done.

Maybe if a person signed some document claiming to be mentally unstable then you could have a discussion, but the idea of observing someone and determining they are mentally unstable and denying them certain things seems like a bad idea to me.
But when we do the idea of mental disorders in strangers, and they don't accept it, of course we will accept the problem of unilateral accusations that are detrimental to the accused person.

But when someone has committed a criminal act or an act that can endanger others, the accusation directly and reporting to the authorities is not a problem,
because there is an element of mental disorder that arises right away.

How would a professional assess on the spot.  Online it's literally impossible but brick and mortar casinos how would you know someone has a mental disorder?  They just walk through the doors, this is almost a pointless proposition because one there is no true way to "label" a person going into a casino and two is all the discrimination lawsuits that the casino will face.  It's just like anything else, until they pose a threat to themselves or someone else that is visible that day there is no way to stop them from gambling.
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MATIC or DOT? on: December 27, 2023, 10:02:02 PM
Good chance they both run up in a straight bull market, but anything can happen.  If I can't choose between projects I buy both split down the middle than ypu limit both your upside and downside risk.  Personally I like matic better.  During the bear market that team has been grinding away at the actual project without any care of coin price.  Seems legit.
568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 09:59:56 PM
I know for sure that if we take periodic account of how many times that we gamble, maybe weekly, monthly or yearly, we'll find out that the loses are far greater than the winnings, so I sometimes wonder how we can be indulging in something that we lose far more than we gain, in the name of having fun. I know that it's human nature to want to conquer, defeat, control and be the leader, yet we go into gambling knowing that the system doesn't give us a fair advantage of achieving these aims, yet we're happy to go back and likely be defeated again.

Perhaps deep down in our conscience, somewhere that we don't like to listen to, it still tells us the truth that the reason why we're going to gamble is to hopefully win money, not really to have fun.

I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?

No it's a real thing if you consider what you are doing is for entertainment and it is not impeding any of your life's responsibilities.  I know people who spend $1,000 for a concert ticket that last 3 hours.  They find it entertaining, in essence "they lost" $1000.  What's the difference putting $100 on the game and buying a ticket to go watch it live for a couple hundred dollars.  If it makes the game more entertaining than that is what you are paying for.
569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 27, 2023, 09:55:41 PM
That's really hard to do because it is subjective at the time of placing bets.  And then to some degree there are levels of instability.  What constitutes someone who passes the eye test and what doesn't.  In the end if someone isn't doing something illegal than casinos will most likely let them bet other wise they set themselves up for discrimination lawsuits.
570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 27, 2023, 09:53:27 PM
I think if you take gambling too seriously it will be detrimental to yourself.  I do have fun gambling even when I lose.  Putting a small amount of money on a sports game makes it real fun to watch and be able to cheer for one side when you otherwise wouldn't have watched the game.  Key is knowing you can lose the money and be OK with that.  Not saying it's not better to win but I use gambling as a form of entertainment.
571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 27, 2023, 09:46:01 PM
Pelicans vs Memphis, I think this two have been building up rivalry, when Ja returns back to play as they have beaten them with Ja's buzzer beater.

But it's time for Pelican to bring back the favor, they are leading by double digits advantage at their homecourt. But when Ja is still in the floor, we don't know if he will suddenly explode anytime to close the score again. So let's see if he still has some left in the tank in the 4th quarter.

Yeah I think with zion going 1 and ja going 2 in their respective draft I think they have a one on one battle going on too.  Both these teams so long as they are full strength will be in the mix in the playoffs for years to come.  Both very young and they match up really well against each other.  We need more of these rivalries in basketball everyone is becoming too friendly anymore.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: December 24, 2023, 07:07:55 PM
People tend to buy into altcoins because they feel like they missed the boat with bitcoin and trying to get rich quick on someone these other coins.  It's really greed that drives the altcoin market.  Take a look at these memcoins, they should be worth nothing because they are literally empty projects but they stay around because people are trying to hit a pump and dump on the next person.
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: December 24, 2023, 07:05:59 PM
@wheelz1200. On your argument that the Broncos might win because they are fighting for a wildcard position, do you think something similar can used as an argument for the Colts? I might change my mind on them. The Falcons is not a very good team and I only saw now that the Colts need to win their next game to maintain their wildcard postion hehehe.

It's not the sole factor I would lean on but I don't think the Pats have anything to play for whereas Broncos do.  In the other game ypu are talking about both are fighting for playoffs so its gonna be a good game.  It's 7-7 now and expect a tight game all the way through.  I do like the colts in this one even without Pittman. Shame because he was really turning it on and becoming a superstar.
574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 24, 2023, 07:03:42 PM
Who else is disappointed in Spurs? Not about their standings because it's obvious that they're one from the bottom now but about the recent actions of Wemby's teammates, Vassell, Johnson, and Sochan. This team has no superstar but the moves of these three were too obvious with Wemby. They're not passing him the ball despite his open positions and good plays that can be done. It seems that they cannot see him inside and outside the ring and they won't pass the ball.

Even the commentators have noticed those good plays that can be done with him for being open. I think that this team is seeing the best for their players and Pop should have noticed it already and he has allowed that to happen. There can be so much improvement from these boys but I think what the team needs is to hone Wemby together with this but if not, they have to trade these players that seen to have selfish plays and just get one veteran that's good in assisting and can all of his teammates that are open and to make better plays with them. It's just disappointing that they're like that but it is what it is.

They aren't shunning him.  Pop is one of the best coaches in the NBA, dudes would be benched if they aren't carrying out his offensive gamelan period.  You have to remember these guys are young, they aren't just going to run the offense through wemby everytime if pop doesn't want them to.  They are just young that's why they are struggling.  They will put it together but this team was never going to compete this year with the big boys just because wemby joined the team.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: December 23, 2023, 09:47:12 PM
Is DOGE Coin's Rise a Sign of the Future of Cryptocurrencies, or a Fleeting Internet Meme Phenomenon?

In 2020/21 it was the start of this dumb memecoin movement.  Doge moving up or down doesn't mean anything to the future of crypto good or bad.  Memes are a fad that will slowly fade.  Most of them do not solve a single thing and are empty projects.  I'd steer clear as far away as possible and not be left holding the bag.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A kid makes millions by investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 23, 2023, 09:44:40 PM
I mean yeah if you make the right moves in crypto you can make a ton of money at a relatively young age.  Problem is the flip side of this is tons of people losing a ton of money.  Notice he was in bitcoin and eth.  Most people trying "to get rich" put their money in these rediculous projects lime meme tokens.  Start with bitcoin and go from there like this kid.
577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: December 23, 2023, 09:39:01 PM
Not sure if those tips would actually help slots are a bit of luck.  Some of the worst odds in the casino but it's meant to be "fun".  If you don't have fun playing than slots is not for you.  I'd play a table game or a game like roulette with much better odds.
578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 23, 2023, 09:37:34 PM
This is how awful the situation in Detroit is. Even a bettor already put a bet that they will never win a single game this season anymore.

You know what's exciting? Who will be the luckiest to put an ML for the Pistons. I don't know how's the odd looks like for them,  but I think every team in the NBA today is considered a tough opponent for them except for the Spurs lol. One thing is for certain here, the odds will be attractive for the Pistons.
Maybe the Lakers could put an end for the Piston's lossing drought just like what they did to the Spurs lol.

Crazy to think that Lakers will be the end point of those two teams losing streak since they might get called clowns for that. Then also I don't think LBJ want to get humiliated by fans for losing a under morale team since to many discussion will arise with that. But I also don't give any negative thoughts about my speculation regarding with that since recent happening in Piston is really bad since fans are really pissed off on their current situation so I think they will do more better so that they can still retain their fan base and fans will not mock at them then shout about for selling their franchise because they suck as a team.

Tomorrow they should do more better since they need to take a win against Brooklyn, if they don't perform well and lose again for sure they will be roasted by their fans.

Can't see them winning in Brooklyn.  On the road actually might be easier for them because of theor record and how stressful it probably is at home but Nets are too good to lose to that team.  They are very young but are not a good team right now they are a lot of major pieces away from contending.
579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: December 23, 2023, 09:35:04 PM
@ChiBitCTy. Agreed on the Browns and the Colts, however, not on the Vikings especially now Justin Jefferson is healthy. He and Addison will be difficult to defend for the Lions and the spread on +3.5 might be enough to win a bet. They are also playing in their home stadium.

On the the Patriots vs. the Broncos, what does everyone think of +6.5 for the Patriots? The Broncos cannot score +6 vs. the Patriots, I reckon.

Also the Chiefs -10 in Kansas against the Raiders might cover, I reckon.

I can't bet on the Patriots this year.  Their defense is amazing but it's questionable every game if they are even going to score.  Theor offense is atrocious.  At less than a touchdown speed I think I'm laying in on the Broncos.  They are fighting for playoff position so they shoukd come out firing.  Can see this end up like 23-6 type of game.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Trading smallcap with 5000 usd selecting them by a programmed ia bot on: December 21, 2023, 10:29:04 PM
I never really understood why people used bots to make theor investment decisions especially smallcap coins.  Those coins are so easily manipulated it can cause bots to mismanage your trades.  Have you ever done this before and if so have you been successful.  And even further if successful was it in a bull or bear market because winning in a bull market sometimes is like fishing with dynamite.  Interested to see your thoughts?
