561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoins do you have? on: September 19, 2017, 02:39:05 PM
Not sure how true this poll speaks, but I am surprised over the huge amount of bitcoin you guys own! Having over 100 000 BTC is insane, and many of you have it

It is unofficial and I doubt anyone will truly state the amount of bitcoin they own. You cannot use this poll to measure anything.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh Shit! - China bans Bitcoin yet again. This time for real. on: September 19, 2017, 02:20:25 PM
Price did not move that much, does this mean this news ain't that effective anymore? Anyway, if the price goes down again because of this, it opens opportunity to buy cheaper bitcoin.
563  Economy / Speculation / Re: China banning bitcoin is the oldest trick in the book on: September 19, 2017, 12:01:40 AM
There is always a newbie that will get trapped on the FUD news about China banning bitcoin. Bitcoin price hits ATH, newbies come in. Then FUD news spreads, newbies get scared so they dump. Seasoned bitcoiners buy the coins from newbies. Rinse. Repeat.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you read ICOs white paper before investing? on: September 18, 2017, 06:59:28 PM
I see a lot of people that do not bother to read the paper,
I try to do max due deligence before buying any coin.

What about you?

If you want to know what you are investing into, then you have to read the whitepaper, road maps and know the developers involved in the project. Otherwise, you might be investing in a complete trash and you do not know it.
565  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The beginning of another bullish momentum! on: September 18, 2017, 05:56:48 PM
It have a good run today. But it still does not guarantee that we already entered a bull run. Let us see in the next days if it will continue the uptrend or not.
566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do we really need to depend on China on cryptocurrency? on: September 18, 2017, 04:43:18 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized, it does not depend on any country. Mining is accumulated effort from all the miners all around the world not on China alone. There are bitcoin hodlers all over the world. Even if china bans bitcoin we will survive without them .
567  Economy / Speculation / Re: But if China gov say mining is illegal, we are fucked. Haipo Yang‏ ViaBTC CEO on: September 18, 2017, 03:58:19 PM
There are other miners other than Chinese miners. I am sure we can survive it even if the miners in china closes their operation. Miners from other countries will pick up the slack.
568  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back to $ 4000 on: September 18, 2017, 03:39:55 PM
This is good news to everyone who have faith in bitcoin and hodl their coins. I pity those who panic sold their bitcoins when it was dropping. You need to have faith in bitcoin and ignore FUD news.
569  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin successfully defeated China on: September 18, 2017, 03:08:02 PM
There is also news that China cannot ban bitcoin and that they are only regulating ICO. Maybe that put confidence back to bitcoin and so the price is recovering from the bear run last week.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you invest in an ICO on: September 18, 2017, 11:24:49 AM
I usually check their social media accounts, how active they are in their slack and telegram accounts. Whether they have a good road map and the goal should be plausible. I also watch their q&a, and see if the devs are professional in answering questions and delivering the their targets.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HOWL | Mobile Social Application | No ICO | AIRDROP on: September 18, 2017, 06:49:16 AM
after receiving gmail .. i feel confused to write PM in dev .. so i just send the wallet address only Grin

send your bitcointalk url too

If you sent pm,  dev already have access to your profile. That is why they require to resend info thru pm.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HOWL | Mobile Social Application | No ICO | AIRDROP on: September 18, 2017, 05:10:47 AM

573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I invested in my first ico, now what? on: September 18, 2017, 04:27:37 AM
Now you wait till the ICO finish and they release the coins to you. Then you wait again til it is available in any exchanges. Then you have to wait more for the price to rise for profit if you do not have profit yet. It is a lot of waiting.
574  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading strategy? on: September 18, 2017, 02:15:19 AM
No, I do not trade all of my bitcoins, only a part of it. It is important to have back up funds. In my case, I can only afford to risk 20% of my funds. Any thing larger than that is too much for me.

I do not base it on how long I am holding my coins, but how much I already gained.
575  Economy / Economics / Re: GoodNews: Japan is finally given licence to bitcoin exchanges on: September 18, 2017, 01:27:38 AM
"Every disappointment is a blessing" - Unknown

Japan has finally joined the crypto-currency race by giving licence to crypto-currency exchanges but with regulations to avoid experiencing another market collapsed by the market e.g. Mt.Gox

Coincheck’s application approved for Japan’s new bitcoin exchange registration
https://www.cryptoninjas.net/2017/09/13/coinchecks-application-approved-japans-new-bitcoin-exchange-registration/amp/

This is good news, I do not know why others do not want regulation on exchanges but I think it is necessary to prevent scams and further market manipulation. Japan is really doing good work giving license to crypto exchanges.

576  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: September 18, 2017, 01:14:01 AM
bitcoin is five years time in my opinion there will be a lot of hard forks from the original bitcoin blockchain and the value of bitcoin would increase by 300 percent today's price. if transaction's speed and price remains the same, bitcoin's not improving and maybe the price wont grow that much

Transaction speed has already improved, you can see that there is only a few thousand transactions unconfirmed. That also means tx price can be lowered. The future of bitcoin is bright, aside from a few bumps from FUD, the price should soar very high in the next five years.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin will be used in our daily transactions. on: September 18, 2017, 01:04:10 AM
It is possible to happen, it can be a payment option for students to pay their tuition fee. And since it will be for a school year, confirmation time will not be a problem. As long as a school is progressive enough, it maybe open for bitcoin transactions.
578  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bear trap or continuing upward trend?? on: September 17, 2017, 09:35:40 PM
This is a steady rise since the news came out that clear the statement of banning bitcoin. China cannot  ban bitcoin. They are just regulating it. This is not a bear trap but maybe a start of a new bull run.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite coin? on: September 17, 2017, 02:45:48 PM
That would be bitcoin because it is the first and original crypto. And I also like Nem because it is showing great potential and the devs are working doubly hard to make it a top crypto.
580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the invention of the century! on: September 17, 2017, 01:12:57 PM
Blockchain is the best invention so far for this century. Let us wait and see if there will be a better invention. There are lots of promising invention that is being research right now. If those comes to reality, it may overshadow bitcoin.
