661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Why haven't the earliest participants sold their Bitcoin, and some haven't even on: November 25, 2023, 10:51:15 PM
Cause the market's looking promising. We got the halving at the cusp of happening next year, some serious uptrends in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with no real signs of ever slowing down, and a pretty thriving crypto industry that's continuously expanding. So it just makes sense for newbies and older participants in this industry to not sell their cryptocurrencies this early.

Although if you're talking about bitcoin's earliest adopters, beats me really. For the most part some of them have ludicrous amounts of bitcoin that they can't just cash out on a whim or it would cause panic buy on everyone below the ladder. So they time their buys, slow their transaction processes, and make moves that don't startle the market so as to not risk devaluing their cryptocurrencies.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Faceless on: November 25, 2023, 10:15:36 PM
Safety for himself and his family is one of the biggest pointers that come to mind when we're talking about Satoshi's anonymity. Since you're the first person to counteract the monetary system that everyone's been falling under in the past millennia, you're bound to have a few enemies in the upper echelons of the society, some with the power to off you and your family as if you never existed in the first place. Satoshi's probably paranoid about this and so he made sure to cover up his tracks after the creation of bitcoin.

Or it could be that he just doesn't want the limelight. It's so hectic and problematic to be famous sometimes, and he prolly foresaw this while creating bitcoin. To spare himself the trouble, he just made sure to never reveal who he is.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: November 25, 2023, 09:40:05 PM
Yep. Which is why you shpuld be very careful about allowing young people into your offices when you’re gambling. To tell the truth I myself was exposed to gambling at an early age. Cause way back then my dad used to invite people into our house to play chinese pokers with. And although that wasn’t the match that sparked my gambling journey, considering it was the height of the pandemic that introduced me truly to this world, the same couldn’t be said for some of us, as well as the younger audiences in the flock.

Nothing inherently wrong if you’re already an adult and you’ve been gambling, it’s a way to pass the time after all. What would become a problem though is if you’re not responsible at playing it, which for example includes letting younger people just watch you waste money willy-nilly.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 24, 2023, 11:42:49 PM
I considered myself a gambling addict way back then, in 2020-2021 back in the height of crypto and the gambling industry, my friends invited me over for a gambling session, probably because all of us are bored as balls inside the comfort of our houses cause this was way back when the pandemic is at its peak and no one's allowed to go outside except for some important stuff. Now, the thing is that we got a little overboard when we started setting up betting competitions on who's gonna win, who's gonna give out the most bet, and whatever, and eventually I found myself itching to gamble and win back my losses. Gladly a family relative snapped me back to reality and from there, I was able to get all the help I need to get right back on feet and actually discipline myself.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good advice? on: November 24, 2023, 11:08:20 PM
you talking about this meme?

If you are, and I'm guessing you're not that versed in the world of memes and internet culture, this is a post made to poke fun at people who literally threw their lives away for the sake of gambling. Is it cruel and apathetic? Yes. is it funny? Yes. How so? Well, people as code200 said eloquently, have their own sets of belief systems that are based on whether they are full-on degen or not sick in the head. You could guess from where I'm going that I mean to tell the people who outrightly believe in posts like these and couldn't decipher that this was made to make fun of them are those that are already fucked in the head, and addicted to gambling in the highest degree.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer wins seem too good on: November 24, 2023, 10:42:38 PM
I think it's common knowledge that most streamers who have been sponsored by gambling sites have been using special accounts with amped win percentages, to paint the impression that the casino they are playing with is generous with its rewards. It's been like that with xQc as much as he doesn't want to admit it, and countless other twitch streamers before the ban. I say it's so easy for people who have been in this industry to dodge this bullet and be more cautious when watching these streamers, but at the same time, we got newbs who would literally assume that this is how generous crypto casinos are, until they get the beating of a lifetime and realize that all of it was nothing but a marketing tactic meant to fool these people out of their pocket money. Be more vigilant and smart, and of course, know that not all that shines is gold.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: November 24, 2023, 10:28:49 PM
Correlation does not equate causation.

It's just similar to "people who own horses as pets are less likely to die from diseases". Where people would think about some convoluted reason as to why having a horse could be therapeutic and medicating to the point that your immune system literally boosts up when you get a pet horse, when the occam's razor answer is that, people who own horses are just rich enough to afford healthcare.

Same goes with this conundrum. It's not like these rich people are able to win more just cause they're rich. They are able to bag more money than the average joe, cause they have more money to put in, and ultimately, especially if they are self-made rich guys, they're able to discipline their spending behaviors and are therefore able to save most of their winnings, unlike the normal guy.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 23, 2023, 10:15:33 PM
Despite the numerous benefits of having KYC implementation and using sites/casinos that implement KYC in their login and verification system, these casinos do not have this one thing that makes no-KYC sites so appealing to the public—the convenience of not having to sign up and verify your identity across multiple sites over and over again. And to some people, you just can't put a price on that.

There's also the preppers who are so afraid of their information being sold on the ad market so they can be marketed with soaps and all other shit. Which I still can't wrap my head around but I guess it's just fair when the ones at the upper echelon never did anything right.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 23, 2023, 09:23:09 PM
When they reach the extremes in both sides of the spectrum. A gambler loses control when they win just as much as when they lose. Ever wonder why people keep on betting even after bagging a massive win? That's cause they lose sight of the reality of things and how improbable in the first place winning was, and they feel invincible. From there they'd make bets in order to emulate the same event, and then this snowballs into something major, like a lose streak that would drive them to bet even more in hopes of winning back whatever they lost.

It's just like that. You need to learn how to control yourself when you win, just as much as when you lose.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this the End for BC.GAME? on: November 23, 2023, 08:40:46 PM
That’s cases upon cases just like what Ryzaadit said. There’s layers upon layers of problems that lead to people thinking that this might just be a sign that either BC game’s dying, or another trusted crypto gambling platform turned rugpull is inbound.

The biggest saving grace that BC game could rely upon in these trying times is them sending updates and answering to people’s growing concerns. Transparency and communication is so important especially in the gambling industry, as this sets the trust levels that the people will have over you. There’s still time if BC game’s enthusiastic enough to actually gather the people they attracted to their site back.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 9 Years Before He finally claim his lotto rewards on: November 23, 2023, 07:40:57 PM
Actually saw this years ago from Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (one of the best current events program in the Philippines). Anyways, for someone who never got their first million, it would be very easy to burn through that 12 million even if you take it in installments, so totally not worth having quarrels with your family members especially if it's your daughter who only tried to help you (albeit causing even more problems for you down the long run). Plus not to mention the lawyer fees that they'd be racking up from this altercation that took nine years to finally resolve. Also goes to show just how slow the justice system in the Philippines is.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: November 22, 2023, 09:23:44 PM
"would you keep buying an alcoholic more booze" Is what I read and understand from this question.

regardless of if whether he's the best gambler on the planet or the worst, which he probably is cause I haven't seen anyone who's making a killing at gambling let the fact ruin their life, I'm not going to be the cause of another man's problem. I say instead of submitting to his vices and funding his addiction, instead work on efforts that would rehabilitate him, now that's a better answer yeah? At the very least when you do this, you're making sure they get another chance at life instead of further digging their graves and giving them more problems than they know what to do with. Besides, it's just a bad investment no matter how you look at it, so just don't invest financially on people like these. Expend your time, and effort into something else.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in psychic betting? on: November 22, 2023, 08:11:38 PM
The ridiculousness of the premise makes me not believe in it at all.

You're already in a situation where you can't even trust your own damn luck, so you're going to use other people's luck for yourself, but in your case you're literally depending upon an octopus's predictions, which by the way, I hate to break to you as much as you want to believe that they are smart, aren't aware of the concept of gambling. Although for the record, I might actually do it for kicks. Cause what else is funnier than betting on someone else's betting predictions. That's just outsourcing your winnings if I ever see one.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 22, 2023, 07:39:35 PM
I say the biggest thing that gambling contributed to me as someone who pursues a professional career is the way it helps you manage your stress and pressure levels. Initially I lack self-control and I am often driven by my emotions more than my brain and logic, but as soon as I was able to finally break the code to better manage your gambling habits and discipline yourself to save bankroll and your future, I find that not only did it help me save money and be more disciplined, it also helped me gain proper management of my temper, emotions, and stress level during intense situations. I say this is the biggest contribution that gambling could give you if you're looking for a job, but as with everything, this is not gambling-specific, you can also gain these skills in other fields besides gambling.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The love in football on: November 21, 2023, 10:38:40 PM
Football is a sport that's indiscriminate for one. In basketball, the game is predominantly littered with Americans who claim they are "the world champions" when they only won national competitions. Prejudice against certain races are also prevalent in this sport. With Chess, there's a certain air of elitism that prevents the average people from appreciating the sport and the competition, not to mention the fact that the game's so tense that if you didn't pick up Chess from when you're a kid, you literally stand no chance against the current state of the game.

Football on the other hand, is for everyone, literally. You got countries setting up their own leagues, and then international tournaments that are indiscriminate of any race and are supportive of whoever wins. We got loyal fans that are both degenerate in fanaticism, and while the sport's got its downsides, the ups make up for it so much that the whole football community's willing to overlook these.
676  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 20, 2023, 04:56:36 PM
Some people say you can wish for Financial Stability all you want, but if you play your cards okay and stuff, you're bound to get it in your 40s.

I say that's some bullshit, cause when all is said and done you're giving yourself some slack, which to some people may mean that they can slack all they want and just wait til they're 40 and they can easily just earn financial stability without putting in any work. Which is just generally wrong on so many levels. I say, you should actually start investing in yourself and your financial stability as early as now, and not wait till you're 40 or whatever age bracket they're statistically stating financial stability's at right now. That would set you up for success as early as possible.
677  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people needs productive mindset to be happy in life on: November 20, 2023, 04:47:05 PM
Hard to be happy when the whole planet's in ruins and society's in shambles. Scams, wars, cancel culture, the government outright admitting that they are actively ignoring threats in exchange for favors and their own welfare, corruption in governments, the worsening environment, and even more shit. Hell, you can't even enjoy art anymore cause of AI art, and you can't do art as well cause someone's going to use your artstyle to train their bot and do your shit without problems.

It's all just massively disappointment stuff that you can't really just ignore, it's so hard being born as a regular teenager in a world that's already in the brink of destruction in the literal and figurative sense. Only thing we have to rely upon is memes at this point lol.
678  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general on: November 20, 2023, 04:37:41 PM
It's cause bitcoin's deflationary, and well fiat is inflationary in nature. The longer you hold your money on the bank, the more it's going to be worthless, and the fact that you're getting paid in peanuts is even more disrespectful lol, they're literally getting rich from all the investments and stuff that they made from your money, and when they fall short the government can bail them out as if nothing had happened. Isn't that amazing??
Bitcoin at the very least brings the power of currency back to the people, and that's what makes it feel like life gets cheaper (or easier for that matter). You wait for bitcoin to increase in value, and it often does cause it's cyclical in nature, and you get to reap benefits when the timing is right.
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Humanitarian Education as a Path to Financial Freedom on: November 20, 2023, 04:18:41 PM

Cryptocurrencies allow you to earn money without “working” in the usual sense of the word. They allow you not to depend on employer, but to take responsibility for your own actions, successes and failures. They allow you to choose not from a given range of possibilities, but to implement your own, while accepting the consequences. And philosophers who lived several centuries ago help to arrive at all this, although at first glance it may seem that neither they themselves nor their ideas have anything to do with such a technological miracle as cryptocurrencies.

I don't understand what you mean by saying that bitcoin can make us make money without working. I think it's difficult if we only depend on bitcoin, especially if we only hold bitcoin. Bitcoin trading is also difficult and cannot guarantee that we will always make a profit every day even if it is done by a professional. Can you explain more about making money from bitcoin without working?

Maybe we can make money from this forum, but what is clear is that we work for campaign managers and it's almost the same as working anywhere else.

Yes, I agree that freedom is an expensive value, but the freedom that philosophers mean is usually freedom for oneself and has nothing to do with money, because usually philosophers are idealists and don't see money as something important in this world. Like Thales who drank poison to maintain his idealism

Sometimes those of us who chase money or wealth are considered capitalists and individualists because we don't prioritize other people. Humanity is not about money but about relationships with humans, such as socialism which prioritizes togetherness and anarchy which does not want to be led by other people.

I quite agree with Hegel, where all theses must have an antithesis. Likewise, every philosopher must have different and sometimes contradictory thoughts, but even though their thoughts are different, the value of idealism will remain the same.
In the literal sense bitcoin does give us money without us putting in much effort unlike conventional labor. Have you worked so hard for your bitcoin to constantly rise in value? In amount, most likely, as I am on the same boat as they millions of people across the planet that are already making careers out of the crypto industry, but you don't need to do anything on your part for bitcoin to increase in valuation, so OP's statements still stands.

No matter how you put it, OP made a great point about bitcoin being a viable form of profit source without much effort on the side of the person, it's just that, I don't think the concept is that hard to understand unlike how you're trying to put it lol.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I got started with Bitcoin and how it is blessing for me? on: November 20, 2023, 03:54:38 PM
Glad you got yourself out of the rut you were put in. It's not easy doing that, and with or without bitcoin, I know you would've made it. Congratulations from that alone.

I got in this gig a little later than you, I've been hearing and seeing about bitcoin for a while now since 2015, but it wasn't until some months after that I started to really grow interest in it. From then on, and after years of struggles and hardships, I can confidently say that bitcoin and crypto gave me so much and more, and had allowed me to attain status that I couldn't otherwise have obtained if I wasn't smart enough to invest in it in the first place. Which is why I became the tome of knowledge when it comes to investing and putting your money to work in the family. I don't particularly mush bitcoin in their faces cause it's all a matter of preference in my opinion, but at least they know their options. And I thank bitcoin for everything that I have in my life right now, just like you bro.
