661  Economy / Economics / Re: Famine is coming next ... on: September 13, 2020, 10:13:22 PM
Famine will not be actual in first world countries, im sure. Anyway, it's nothing more than fud news right now. Don't see any signs or real famine right now

It might not be famine but they are also affected by this pandemic. It would be other things like unemployment, every country would be affected and doesn't mean you can't see it there doesn't mean it is not happening. Just imagine those people that doesn't have anything before the pandemic, what do you is happening at them right now.

In developed nations, most of the people do have considerable savings or pension deposits. This should enable them to survive for a few months (but not for an indefinite period). Things are not that great in developing nations such as India. Here, very few do have any savings and every now and then I am hearing tragic stories about starvation deaths. We are close to the breaking point.

I don't know if that is true but I've been seeing some posts about families in India committing suicide, some with their family because of starvation. It is just that bad this year, I hope you people would continue to hold hands and help each other during this pandemic. What we can do now is to keep ourselves steady and keep pushing forward. If we can we help other people stand up
662  Other / Archival / Re: What will happen to bitcoin on a world war? on: September 13, 2020, 08:49:07 PM
It is a world war so for sure, the value of bitcoin will fall but as they said it, a war is unlikely, near to impossible to happen especially these days. Bitcoin will surely plummet following the prices in the stock market but I think it will just go back in a certwin time since I think people would prefer to invest on it.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has bitcoin done for you? on: September 13, 2020, 02:17:22 PM
Bitcoin has done so many stuff in my entire life, probably if I didn't know Bitcoin exist, I would have not even live until this time because I couldn't pay anything such as my school and monthly bills. Also bitcoin thought me how to manage my emotion, manage my money, invest my money and be the better person when I encounter something.

I think you should say help you realize that you need to manage your emotion, your money because that is the thing about me. Bitcoin helped me to get into investing, into trading and maybe to where and how I am now. It is all on me but I guess without me investing on bitcoin and other crypto currencies, I wouldn't be here.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any truly safe bets in sports betting? on: September 13, 2020, 01:15:39 PM
I don't prefer these, maybe 1.40 I could hardly accept but 1.10 to 1.2 seems a little low. Some might say that it could be a sure win but still, the percentage of your loss is not 0. Safe? Yes, worth it? For me, no. As a beginner, I wasn't picky so I usually bet on these since I always win but when I lost one time, it just stings because I won a lot and lost once but that one loss is higher than my consecutive wins.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling sites should be careful of bringing eSports in on: September 13, 2020, 12:00:34 PM
Those who play gambling are more concern about the earnings rather than the entertainment. Also gambling is played mostly by the young and middle aged people. They do find it entertaining as well and of course there is nothing more entertaining than earning the money while playing.
If it's only for casino i'd agree that one of the entertaining part in gambling is winning money but it depends on what you're betting on because on sports betting it can still be entertaining even if you're losing.

This may be true for you but i never feel entertained if i am losing a bet on a match even though the match may be interesting and thrilling but i feel sad about losing the bet. On such occasion i wished i would have never bet and only watch n enjoy the match.  Smiley

Well, you should've decided that before you bet though it is really disappointing sometimes to bet in sports and esports since even though you are deeply analyzing the team and the possible things that would happen in the game, there might be some things that could affect the result and let the other team win. Still, we are betting so we should really expect losing too. That is why parents should really be careful on these things for their children.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: September 13, 2020, 11:07:25 AM
Would you consider in betting in Valorant games? Do you think it would be much popular, as betting in Dota2, in the future?

Yes, why not. I am into esports and I know how good valorant is. It would be much popular as dota 2 only if it met the satisfaction it gives to dota 2 players/bettors. Because as you have said, it is the same as csgo with a little twist just like overwatch, it means that the possible players/bettors might be coming from these popular games.

It's been sometime since the game was out and we don't need to argue that it really pique the interest of the players from other FPS like CSGO and Fortnite, but as time passes, players are now noticing these weapons, characters and strats that is OP within the game. They needed to fix these since it might affect the players and would affect bettings too, also, it would take some time before it even go toe to toe with dota 2. Dota 2 is breaking records when it comes to prize pots, that would interest more players into the game also means more active bettors.

668  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: September 13, 2020, 12:01:16 AM
I think this is every worst situation for all, especially those who are suffering from the pandemic, so we have one option that is to find a way to turn it into positive.
Many died as well, lost our jobs, our businesses and everything, so we really couldn't say it's a blessing. But in this condition, we should just look forward and think about of next-generation future. otherwise, our upcoming generation will also suffer as now we are facing
Yes really i also think so .I almost lost my job on this situation .The pandemic situation has destroyed me badly .My family is facing trouble  but i need to be more strong otherwise my family's  future will be broken badly .I am working hard to overcome this  situation.

We all are and to be honest, you are still lucky to still have your job while there are those people that lost their job, some even lost their family which is really tragic if you ask me. We should really work hard, we should do what we can still do and keep on doing that because if we don't push ourselves, no one will do that for us, right?
669  Economy / Speculation / Re: What affects the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: September 12, 2020, 10:27:47 PM
Demand is a very important factor on affecting Bitcoin price I think. When people start to buy Bitcoin, demand will increase and the price will be affected nicely. Recently, there are many people who started to sell their Bitcoin. So, there is not enough demand and the price has been declined sharply.

I don't think that is a sharp decline, to be honest. We just slid back down to $10K which is just $1K down from the past weeks where we are staying. Another thing is that we can't say that there is not enough demand since if that is true, we should be looking at a lower price, not just $10K. It is still strong the fact that we are sitting at this price right now.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Blockchain a Good Career? on: September 12, 2020, 09:54:41 PM
blockchain its most basic level, blockchain is literally just a chain of blocks, but not in the traditional sense of those words. When we say the words “block” and “chain” in this context, we are actually talking about digital information stored in a public database .

I don't understand what you wanted to say but as far as I know, blockchain is not a basic level, that is why there are a lot of people finding people online for this and the salary is no joke too. Blockchain could start you a great career as long as you are in a right place to start that career. With good salaries, I don't think it could be that basic.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 12, 2020, 09:08:12 PM
Miami Heat had a great run in this playoffs but I think Boston Celtics will win the ECF. We will see how Miami would play against them and I want to see how will Boston face the tight defense of Miami that they showed against the Milwaukee Bucks. I don't know what will happen but let's wait what will happen to the WCF.
This is a good analysis and opinion.

Most of the thoughts that I've read are for Miami Heat. But this time, you're saying that it's with Boston Celtics. It's the first game so it's going to be an exciting match up.

Miami heat's defense is good but Boston as well has a good defense as we can see that most of the games in the last series were low scoring game, except for those games that went into OT. This is an interesting series, if Heat stopped the Bucks, that is because Bucks relied so much on Giannis but the Celtics team is very different, all players in the floor are good scorer and they have a good ball movement as well.

Yeah, I agree, they also have a great defense. Based on their last game against Toronto Raptors, they have 12 steals and Raptors has 18 turnovers. In offense, as you said they have good ball movement unlike Bucks that is just run and gun but without any passes. And let's not forget, Gordon Hayward will be back at that series.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: All your entertainment things must have an external limiting feature, agree? on: September 12, 2020, 12:48:43 PM
Gambling sites/Casinos exists for their own profit and not to do any sort of charity to people. This is the truth and people should not ignore this fact. Its fine if you are gambling for enjoyment and to have a good time rather than just for one purpose that is you can make very easy money from it which may not happen as house has an edge than you.
well it is very unlikely if the money from gambling is used for any charity because I see it is bad behavior, so as much as possible not to do that, if you want to do charity then at least don't use the money from gambling. I think gambling developers are reluctant to do such a charity.

Well, I don't think we should even talk about this since not all of these casinos are like that. In our country we have PCSO which is mandated to provide funds to be used in health programs, medical assistance and such for the people. 55% or 60%(Im not sure) of the allocated money will be the price and 30% will go to charity and the rest to the expenditures of PCSO. It is just different because it is a government-owned and controlled corporation than those other casinos we know but still, you get the point.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 12, 2020, 11:31:41 AM
So it's Heat vs Celtic...

Miami will have a good run in this round tho the Celtic are a great team, I'm absolutely confident in the team that defeated the best team in the league.

The West are still battling 2nd round. Trust me the beast resides in the EAST. 😁

674  Economy / Economics / Re: PornHub now accepts Bitcoin and Litecoin (News coincides with BTC decline?) on: September 12, 2020, 01:25:38 AM
We can't blame BTC, because crypto is a tool, it all depends on who uses it. If chosen from the field of technology this is an advance because there is a real adoption of the goal of Crypto as payment. although on the other hand, it is necessary to regret normally because the crime of pornography will increase

I think that is a bit of a stretch to the information we have here. Relating crimes to pornhub accepting bitcoin is just absurd here, I am one of those people that would not use bitcoin paying a premium in these sites but will continue to access these sites since I am satisfied whether I have a premium or not. Still, I am not committing any crime because of it.
675  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: September 11, 2020, 10:55:16 PM
so we have one option that is to find a way to turn it into positive.
I don't think that there is a way to turn our situation into positive. As you have said, many people lose their job, closed their businesses, died, etc. How can we turn that into positivity if it is something that the only option is to move forward and find a reason or continue living for the sake of your family.

I think that is what he really meant. To move forward, you don't really dwell on what you lost, you dwell on what you gained on what happened and that is why to move forward means to look on the positive sides of what happened. You lost your job, the businesses closed, well, you find other opportunities, maybe start your own business adjusting to this pandemic.
676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: September 11, 2020, 03:44:45 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto can actually burn Bitcoin to drive up its price. This may involve sending them to an unspendable address. If he does that, there would be a bullish reaction in the market. He could then sell them at a profit. This would destabilize the market. Remember, very little is known about Satoshi Nakamoto.

I think he doesn't need to actually send it in an "unspendable address", as long as he is not moving that bitcoin he has, less btcs in the circulation would give positive changes to the market. And I don't think that actually stop bitcoin, that would create more opportunities when bitcoin drops, that is for sure since there are a lot of people actually waiting for it to dump so low.
677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: September 11, 2020, 01:46:38 PM
I am looking forward to see that digital currencies will take fiat money's place in the future or to be a solid alternative for fiat money. I would prefer spending some Bitcoin on supermarkets etc. and also saving Bitcoin. Also, Bitcoin payment option can be found in various places now but it is not much prevalent all around the world.

Well, I think digital currencies will be taking over fiat money but I don't think it would be bitcoin itself. It would be a digital representation of the fiat currencies that we have now, but still, fiat will continue to be used in other places as well since not all of the countries could eventually shift to digital currencies. There are a lot of things to consider and one of them is the technological state of that country which is a problem in third world countries.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 11, 2020, 11:50:09 AM
If you are jobless person, you only have your own savings and you have a family to raise, it is much better to use your money to provide their needs instead of risking your money on playing gambling without any assurance of winning your game. When you lose your game you will regret it because you will earn nothing but you also lose your money with nonsense thing. What you have to do is to look for a job or put up a business instead.

That is just true but people that are actually addicted to gambling won't realize this. What matters to them is that as long as they can bet or gamble, they will be facing the problem of their family or their needs after gambling because their priority is gambling. Actually some people can't stop gambling that is the reason why some actually make some solutions like adding more shifts to earn more money they could use to gamble.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My experience is gambling on: September 11, 2020, 12:27:49 AM
I was hooked in gambling because at first I am earning good profits and I thought that I could keep up with it and use that money to help my family because to me, helping them is what matters. I've been gambling as a student but please don't think that I am spending huge money because, to be honest, I don't have enough money to start with. It is just about 5000php or more likely $90 to $110.

In our province, that is huge money and as time goes by, I met my partner in life and that is when it hits me. I felt the pain, me being so useless at that time and gambling is tearing me down because I thought I am doing this for them but I am just doing it for myself. Some therapies which I don't actually tell if it is and with the support of my partner and family I did get out. I am always saying this but my experience is not that deep compared to the real gambling addiction still I am so thankful to have my loving and caring family and partner and I knew this is not something to underestimate. People are actually struggling because of it but usually, it just starts as entertainment, that I could confirm.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 10, 2020, 11:33:58 AM
Uhhh..Heat already won.

I am not judging where you are watching though but they already won. Miami Heat will be facing Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
How sure are you? The series of Boston vs Toronto is not over yet, Boston has to win the game tomorrow for them to advance in the Eastern Conference Finals. You are so advance mate, lol.

Oh yeah, I forgot to put something being sarcastic on that.

I will be putting my money into Boston Celtics so yeah, I would be really rooting for them to end the series tomorrow. But yeah, for sure Boston and Heat will be facing the Eastern Finals.  Roll Eyes

I think being overconfident sometimes could really be so bad in gambling. Im betting on these teams too and I've been betting for Celtics twice in a row but in this game I bet on Toronto because it seems that they would still last until game 7, it is a shame that I did not go all in though, just bet half of my normal bet.
