Here SaltySpitoon, whom Dogie approached to move "Spondoolies Spam" thread from Trash to Meta (Dogie approved it):

Moved this into Meta, but I wont touch the issue any further since I'm involved and bias could be unfair.

To be fair, I'm planning to upgrade to a SP31/35 (as per the thread wtt request) so not being a total jerk/ingrate in selling/trading it.

And here is Theymos who "don't want to suppress anyone's honest opinion":

The moderation guidelines say:
Quote
Topic creation should not be annoying. There should not be too many topics about the same thing in a short time period, and individuals should not post too many topics. "Too many" depends on the quality of the topics.

If an entire page is taken up by Spondoolies reviews, then that's probably too many topics. How this should be handled is more tricky, since I don't want to suppress anyone's honest opinion. We'll see if ckolivas' locking solution is helpful.

Served to the public as food for thought. I'm still waiting for answers and a bit of transparency about what happened with the poll questions. Dogie stopped talking with me.

When is the last sale made from bitfury to the general public?

About 6 weeks ago last I checked

Bitfury sold gear 6 weeks ago?  Where?  To who?  A retail consumer/small miner?  I'm not being facetious, I would like to know.

Openly on the market. You can [could] drop them a message and find out their MOQ and hardware very openly.
Welcome back Dogie. Have you asked the mods to delete philipma1957 poll questions ?

My predictions, three months ago: Bitcoin TLV `14, #25 - Guy Corem - Mining Forecast
BitFury revealed their mining address two days afterwards. I didn't expect to see AntPool grow so much.
Let's see how the rest of my predictions will be in 2015. It was based of BTC value of $400

The rest of Inside Bitcoin TLV lectures can be found here: Inside Bitcoins Tel Aviv 2014t
I think that it was one of the best Inside Bitcoin conferences ever. Kudos to Meni Rosenfeld.

Updated?

General comments now Guy on what you think is going to happen in the next few months?
I believe I have good visibility, however I can't give specifics due to NDAs, investors relations, etc.

Guy your wasting too much of your time here, its nonsense because i dont think that more than 20% of your sales comes from bitcointalk users
Thank you for your advice. I don't feel I waste my time.

Dogie attempts to strangle the voice of the community.

It really should be worrying that Dogie a paid promoter is trying to degrade and stop open debate about the practices of the ASIC manfucturers.

Why should this community be held hostage to one view point on hardware?

Not looking to do this anymore.

Since this was cancelled to be fair Spondoolies-Tech ask me to do the thread and poll.
...
Confirmed. I also asked Philip to post whatever questions he wants and to freely change our questions if he wants to.
I believe Dogie's thread become irrelevant.
I opened a meta thread to discuss the poll removal by the mods, without any explanation:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938782.0

Truly sad to see it closed.  I will not post my thoughts, just that I think someone has a lot of pull on what happens. Apparently this poll he did not like.

The voice of the community before it was brutally shutdown:
687  Other / Meta / Re: Mods killing an hardware manufacturers poll on: January 28, 2015, 10:08:31 AM
go away iCEBREAKER!!!!! nobody wants you on this forum besides other trolls like you!

Do you believe there is a moderator conspiracy singling out poor Spamdoolies for oppression?

Whatever the complaint is in Meta someone will always look to a conspiracy after something doesn't go their way because the truth is always far less exciting and uncontroversial.

I asked very simple questions, yet to receive any answers. For the mods benefit, here are the questions again:

Having 6 open topics about the same thing isn't OK. It's not fair to people who read/post other topics, since they'll tend to have a disadvantage when it comes to position in the topics list.

Post the polls in Archival, and lock all of them. Then link to the polls from one topic in Hardware.
Thank you for the explanation and the solution how to do the poll.

However, it raises more questions:

Why not simply to move the poll questions to Archival and ask Philip to change his post ?
Why the aggressive delete without any explanation ?
Are you covering for another mod action with an explanation after the fact ?
Was the deleting was done due to another Dogie complain ?

688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 28, 2015, 10:00:25 AM
Is not worth the time&energy,  is like fighting the wind or rain...

Philip should look into:
Quote
Post the polls in Archival, and lock all of them. Then link to the polls from one topic in Hardware
After the polls question were deleted ? It will turn into poll-troll-fest.
689  Other / Meta / Re: Mods killing an hardware manufacturers poll on: January 28, 2015, 09:32:26 AM

I'm not trying to troll just wondered the timeline of what happened for it to be removed.  I know this forum is a place I do enjoy, and it is a "Privilege" not a "Right" to be able to use the site.  I just wish on a incident like this the community was not so in the dark.

And I'm not saying you are.

Yes, I think that plain deletion of these polls without any comment from the mods was kind of brutal. However, after theymos' answer, I would assume good faith from the mods, i.e. not make it a big deal, and just move forward. Even if Dogie were indeed the one reporting philipma1957's polls, 1) it's not public information, and 2) it doesn't really make any difference, does it?

I will do this last post before I let it cool down and see how it plays out.  I am not wanting to become a troll.

If you will read my whole last post I ask for transparency, please re-read my previous comment.  I have not said a name and will not, as again i can just suspect.  I do think it is important on how it happened, this is why I think being open is easier.

If you read "Post the polls in Archival, and lock all of them. Then link to the polls from one topic in Hardware."   Why were threads not moved to there instead of being deleted?

Because spam gets deleted. If you want specific action like this taken you need to work it out with a moderator beforehand. Not just post it and hope they deal with it the way you hope they will.
Those threads contained poll questions and forum members took the time to answer them.
They weren't spam.
Granted, Philip posted them in the wrong place.
Can I get answers to my questions?

I'm getting strong sense of coverups and excuses after the fact for a very brutal / hostile mod action directed to hurt us due to the poll results.

No, because you've already made up your mind, and I don't care enough to try and change it. Maybe someone else will, maybe they won't.
I didn't made up my mind. Please read the thread.
Direct question: Did you delete the poll posts ?
690  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: January 28, 2015, 09:29:49 AM
add another vote from me to Spondoolies - very impressed with their equipment, service and support
Thank you. Unfortunately the poll suffered unexplained untimely death.

Mods (as well os other members reporting them) seem to think differently. Theymos even gave you an explanation why in his opinion they are spam.

Granted, Philip posted them in the wrong place.
Can I get answers to my questions?

In my experience: Nope you wont. You seem to take it way to personal anyway.

I'm getting strong sense of coverups and excuses after the fact for a very brutal / hostile mod action directed to hurt us due to the poll results.

Thanks for making my point.
The correct action would have been to move the poll questions and not deleting them without explanation.

As time pass and I don't get real answers and transperacy about what happened, I admit that my suspicious grows.

Look at it from my presepective:
The poll questions were DELETED, not moved.
It's unbelievable hostile action.

We get it.  You paid good BTC for those polls and are upset they got nuked from space.

But deploying minions to spam the HW sub is also an arguably "hostile action" and will predictably result in moderation.

Again, I suggest you

instead of being a Spamdoolie.

You have a successful ASIC company and should have much better things to do than badger Thermos.

If you need help brainstorming ideas, let us know.
No, I didn't pay good BTCs for the polls.
I asked Philip what he wants for running it, he wanted token payment. He also stated that he'll donate it.
695  Other / Meta / Re: Mods killing an hardware manufacturers poll on: January 28, 2015, 07:07:12 AM
I'm not going personal. I want simple answers to simple questions.

Fair enough. In the mean time, let me remind you theymos' suggestion:

Post the polls in Archival, and lock all of them. Then link to the polls from one topic in Hardware.

...then I'd be glad to reinstate my votes Wink

Nicely put. Let's have some transparency about what happened.
I think that it's very important.

Wait and see, I guess Smiley
It's up to Philip to decide if he wants to do the poll again.
696  Other / Meta / Re: Mods killing an hardware manufacturers poll on: January 28, 2015, 07:00:58 AM
The third question can be answered by a simple yes/no from Theymos. I will respect and accept his answer.

Well, I think it was a loaded question, given the phrasing and the fact that it was asked publicly. Now it's up to him to choose whether he wants to answer it or not.

Edit: I didn't raise "conspiracy theories" levels questions - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938256.msg10285563#msg10285563

True, yet you relayed them.

Anyway, my point is that I think most people will agree that Spondoolies is a great ASIC manufacturer, and I share that opinion. And that's precisely the reason why I'd like to see you stay above the crowd by not going personal against other forum members, no matter how biased and/or unfounded their posts may be. For example, seeing Inaba trolling or using ad hominem instead of arguments didn't help BFL with their reputation... just sayin' Roll Eyes

Just to pipe in a little.  I was not meaning to troll with my comment.  I also did not mention person I suspected as I have zero proof.

I wish we would see a little bit of transparency on what caused this, and how this happened.   I have reported a gaming hardware build that is in BTC hardware forum - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938212.0 and have it was not moved even though it's been days.

Please make your company a PR favor by assuming good faith here, you had a sensible explanation from the forum admin himself. IMHO the first two questions are kind of legit (though picky), but the last two are slipping into personal suspicion or conspiracy theories. By now I think we've all taken notice that you and Dogie aren't friends, just let it be.
The third question can be answered by a simple yes/no from Theymos. I will respect and accept his answer.
Regarding Dogie, I do consider him a (misguided) friend. I wrote about it here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938256.msg10284726#msg10284726

Since he did revived "Spondoolies Spam" thread and asked moderator to move it to Meta from Trash, I have enough ground for suspicion. If he'll deny, I'll accept it and publicly apologise.
