I see you're exclusively interested in bounty campaigns... You posts history mainly consists of this too.
If you want to receive any merit you need to contribute by helping others.

You are on a good track but still need to improve.
Suggestion: Work on your post formatting, adding references and generally putting more time in the ideas you provide.

Done with page 4 Smiley
702  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk ≠ Bitcoin on: April 07, 2018, 09:39:14 AM
I think some people are just ignorant and they just don't want to read but feel the urge to post nonsense.

If you use any social media networks just join a large group like traffic announcements or some general topic that is relevant to a lot of people. You will be amazed by the amount of people that post comments and do not have any idea on the subject or have not read or understood the post/message.

It's the same thing here with some people. I know BTC and BCT are similar abbreviations but you will find the difference between the two if you read the posts on this forum Smiley

704  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Concern on: April 07, 2018, 09:07:52 AM
I am one of the users that were a Jr. Member when the merit system was rolled out so, I got 0 merits by default. At the beginning, I was a bit upset on the system since it favoured the more senior members on this forum whom, in some cases, mainly shit post and do not bring any value to the community.

Recently, I have opened up a post review service to get a better feel on the merit system and the people posting. In this service, I require people to posts their top 3 posts but I also check their post history (I think everyone awarding merit should also check that). You can't imagine the amount of shit posts people did until now and some are still doing it.
The merit system has indeed stopped this nonsense with shit posts & spam but some of them did not get the idea yet so, it might take a bit more time to see the system to it's full glory.

I encourage anyone who doesn't see the benefits of this system to start their own review service.
705  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Gained from using Sources? on: April 07, 2018, 08:53:26 AM
[...]I noticed that most, probably around 70%+ of posts were all sourced from various websites. These sources were always linked at the bottom of each post by the user, but he/she is earning merit for the posts [...]
I have come across users that also do this in my post review service but have not awarded any merit for those posts. Some of these users just do this to get merit and rank up to be able to participate in signature campaigns.
I encourage others to no award merit for these individuals.

[...] Regardless of that, such content should be placed within a "quote tag" (some try to bend the rules and get away with it).
Yes, I agree, the copy/paste must be placed in a quote tag but of course they shouldn't copy/paste the whole article (everybody can read it in the link provided with it) just some parts of it. Most importantly, they need to provide their own view on it otherwise, it does not bring any value to the discussion.

You have a true dedication to helping people out Smiley This is the whole point of a community! Merited! Smiley

You have participated in a lot of bounties in the past, I hope you will also focus on creating quality content and helping others on this forum.

I see some of your posts are in mega threads... What value do you think a post to a trivial question on page 40 would bring to others? Do you think it will ever be read? I will stop reviewing posts if I still see this spam being propagated.

You have a lot of good posts and the quality in them is good! You will not have a problem in ranking up. Merited! Smiley

You are on a good track with some of your posts but you still need to improve.
Suggestion: Add references to your posts, diversify the forums you post in.

You are helping people and that's always a good thing Smiley Your posts history also looks good. Merited! Smiley
Continue to go on this path and you posts will not remain unnoticed Wink

I learnt from your feedback and tried to improve.

There is another one, but it had recieved a single merit, but you will see it looking at my posts.
If double entries are not allowed, just give me a feedback.
I'm glad you have re-submitted your entry and I do see improvements and your logic in good Smiley Merited! Smiley
Suggestion: Try to format your posts better, use different paragraphs for your ideas to make it easy to read and understand. You can also include references.
708  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [05-04-2018] Japanese Government Reviews Proposal to Legalize ICO on: April 05, 2018, 09:39:49 PM
ICO's being legalized doesn't mean social media platforms will lift their crypto related ad bans, especially because of the fact that it concerns crypto in its entirety they don't want to get exposure on their platforms, and not just ICO's.
[...]

Yes, indeed, they're not going to lift them as soon as they're legalized, it's going to take some years, not doubt about that.

Legalizing ICOs will open the possibility to whitelisting those ads, don't you agree? In this current shady state they will never bring the ads back thus the interest will decrease and we'll continue to be on a bear trend.

The official reason behind the ban was that ICOs and crypto in general is a shady business where people can loose money. As coin telegraph said it here: https://cointelegraph.com/news/big-tech-are-banning-crypto-and-ico-ads-is-there-a-reason-to-panic

FB:
Quote
“We want people to continue to discover and learn about new products and services through Facebook ads without fear of scams or deception. That said, there are many companies who are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not currently operating in good faith.”

Google:
Quote
"We don't have a crystal ball to know where the future is going to go with cryptocurrencies, but we've seen enough consumer harm or potential for consumer harm that it's an area that we want to approach with extreme caution.”

710  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [05-04-2018] Japanese Government Reviews Proposal to Legalize ICO on: April 05, 2018, 04:36:53 PM
If they want to legalize them, then that means they will also do background checks for the owners and require them to be a legitimate business. If they could do it the same way as IPOs work then that would be great.

The main problem with ICOs, like OP said, is that they aren't regulated and there are a lot of scammers out there that just 'run with the money'. I think that if ICOs will be legitimate then the current ban on cryptos, currently in effect on social networks and large advertising platforms like Google Adsense, will be lifted, the hype will continue thus the prices will be on a bull trend again Smiley
711  Other / Off-topic / Re: vlad230's post review service - Jr. Member and up [OPEN] on: April 05, 2018, 03:01:38 PM

712  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 5) on: April 05, 2018, 07:19:53 AM
It's a shame that Round 5 didn't receive the participants needed to get that extra cash sponsorship. Ah well, no harm done I suppose, but that makes me curious what that means for "vlad230 has donated his winnings ($5USD) to future rounds!" Does that simply go into the prize pool for future rounds to not over complicate things or were you thinking about adding that $5 onto a placement this round?

My idea was to encourage as many people to join this challenge as possible. So, if this round doesn't qualify for a third place based on Joe's rules, then that's fine, the prize can be given out when it meets the requirements in some future round.
713  Other / Off-topic / Re: vlad230's post review service - Jr. Member and up [OPEN] on: April 04, 2018, 04:48:05 PM
No, that's a different thread, buddy Smiley
I see the majority of your posts consist of bounties. You need to start adding more quality to your posts and stop focusing on bounties.

I see you also posts in mega threads essentially creating spam. You are no stranger to lots of bounty campaigns either.
Your post quality still needs to improve in order to get merit, you have a few good posts but sometimes contradictory or not well researched.

Hi, vlad230 kindly check theyoungmillionaire post.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Please read the rules & how to apply again.

Can I review posts?
No.

Although I like your detective work, I see your post history is mainly comprised of bounty campaigns.
You need to increase the amount of relevant quality posts in order to receive merit.

Although I appreciate your ambition, this is the 3rd time you have submitted posts that do not follow the simple rules on how to apply. You are disqualified.

You are mainly posting in mega-threads replying to trivial questions thus increasing the spam... You need to stop this activity.
You need to research your posts better and create good content that others will find useful.

You are essentially posting meaningless replies in mega-threads, some posts are on page 40 or 50... You need to stop this because it is only increasing spam and will not help anyone.
Create posts that others will find useful and you will get merit.
714  Other / Off-topic / Re: vlad230's post review service - Jr. Member and up [OPEN] on: April 03, 2018, 02:57:11 PM
I appreciate your insistence but please read the rules & how to apply, again Smiley

I make arctile about my bounty experience: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3235435.0
I have over 128 reply, i answered to all question in thread but i havent get any merit(
Your post is already merited. You do not qualify, please read the rules & how to apply, again.

I see you're mainly posting in your local board, I would like to see you doing more posts in the English boards.
For now, I would say you're on a good track but you still need to increase the quality of your posts by improving your English a bit and adding more content & references to you posts.

Some of your posts are a bit off topic. You are on a good track but you still need to improve the quality of your posts.
I see you're not a native English speaker and some of your posts are affected by this.

Your posts history looks good and you have helpful posts! Merited! Smiley
Suggestion: Maybe you could remove the clutter when you quote. I see you have a lot of quote hierarchies that are sometimes irrelevant. Just quote the last person you're responding to.

I currently have 99 merits and would need 1 to rank up. Thanks!

Congrats!  vlad230

And again, I'll provide two (2) Merits for the third place in round five (5).

Thanks a lot, Geraldo! Smiley I appreciate the time you invest in this and of course, your merit donation Wink

Third Place: vlad230

vlad230 has donated his winnings ($5USD) to future rounds!

3 Merits

(sponsored by bill gator [$5 + 1 Merit] and Geraldo [2 Merits])

Meritorious Posts of the Week (in no particular order, and purely speculative, based on my opinion):

vlad230: You have definitely spent a lot of time on the forums this week, and I applaud that! From offering your service of looking out for thoughtful members to suggesting new features for the forum, it's apparent that you've taken a genuine interest in the BCT forums. You've been very helpful this week, and I look forward to seeing more of your posts in the future.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, Joe! Smiley

I've started this review service to get a better feel on the merit system, what's going on in different categories and try to combat spam/shit posting.

Whoever still has doubts on the merit system should definitely start a review service or at least check the post history of random users. You can't imagine the amount of spam and shit posting (regardless of rank) that occurs on the forums everyday! It's incredible, unfortunately... but I do see a change for the better since the merit system has been implemented. Smiley
718  Other / Meta / Re: [NEW FEATURE] Live Chat for users on: April 02, 2018, 01:53:27 PM
No, he explains it very well.
That's the reality of what it will be.

Another thing is that, live chat will cause lag to those people who using PC without a good quality.

Another perfect way to explain it: join a bounty chat in the telegram with the forum number members or even less lets say 20,000 members and take a look how people will flood the chat with nonsense things.

1. This will be a personalized chat (similar to FB messenger) not a main chat where everybody would join and talk nonsense.

I don't know what to do to make people read...  Roll Eyes

I have tried everything but it seems it is hopeless...
719  Other / Off-topic / Re: Topic & Post Review (Specific Areas) - sMerit to give on: April 02, 2018, 01:21:16 PM
Hello guys, finished reviewing these posts. I gave merit to some, and I probably give more if I could but as a Sr. Member I don't have that much merit to spent so I need to be picky right now. Really enjoyed reading the posts by vlad230. I was never very interested in mining, because I always think it's not profitable, but I wasn't really thinking about the possibility for coins to value in time, so I guess I will start looking into this. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to hear that Smiley
If you need any help with setting it up or other mining related things, feel free to just send me a PM Smiley
720  Other / Meta / Re: [NEW FEATURE] Live Chat for users on: April 02, 2018, 09:23:33 AM
How the chat will look like :
300,000 users online.
User1: knock knock, how to rank up?
User2: red tagged by Lauda (or pharma or...etc) why tagged they do me i no do nothing bad (<3 Google translate)
User3: noob read sticky at meta...
User4: whine away noob and stop scamming people
User5: https://bitcointalk.org/...
User6: lauda (or pharma or anyone from team1) Is... (bad boy and the song about being alt will start again- singed by team2)
User7: indeed user6, they are alt in addition to nullius
User8 (team1): you got negative trust because you asking for 500 BTC without collateral!
User9 (team2): team1 should be banned!
...

Now, this is why I prefer to not having a chat at all, or maybe a personalised chat? But this will consume too much data...

It seems like you only read the OP when you post. That's a shame, I was expecting more from legendary members  Undecided

....
A personalised chat is similar to PM (Private Message) so there's no sense of implementing such one. And I also sense that high rank members will be spammed by newbies inquiries were they will ask common or basic questions.
...
I think you got it all wrong. The live chat would be similar to the PM system in the sense that you talk with one guy (similar to FB messenger for example) but you can have multiple chats open.
Rather than going back and forth with PMs that are not in a thread view and are disorganized (not to mention that you need to keep refreshing to see if you got a PM), you could use the chat feature and talk easier.

This approach would be fast, easy to use and will not require any 3rd party apps like skype to be used.

....
And I also sense that high rank members will be spammed by newbies inquiries were they will ask common or basic questions.
...
Isn't this the same problem as we have with PMs? Of course there can be "mute/ignore" buttons for it to avoid abuse.

I will update the OP posts with more info since nobody reads the posts in between...
