Circle CEO Allaire: It’s Highly Unlikely We’ll Be Using Bitcoin in 5 or 10 Years

http://coinjournal.net/circle-ceo-allaire-highly-unlikely-well-using-bitcoin-5-10-years/

highly unlikely anyone will know who the fuck circle were, let alone be using their shit payment service in 5-10 yrs time...

Precisely!
Some bitch in circle thinks she's bigger than 12+ billion $ bitcoin market  lol
723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a bubble on: November 19, 2016, 06:43:46 PM
I wonder if I have the chance to see USD10k or 1mil per bitcoin in this lifetime.....
You can be sure that you will be able to see 10k USD per bitcoin within your lifetime if you are not old enough to live next 20-30 years.  Grin

If you can get to 2020 without dying, you will probably see 10k+ bitcoins.... Maybe even sooner than that!   Wink
724  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a bubble on: November 19, 2016, 06:41:54 PM
Shit this makes me wanna dump everything i have and gtfo right away. Very good, nice lyrics also. 5/5 for you. Subscribed too.

Jokes aside; If it ever drops to 1$, there would be millions to support bitcoin from that price and it will bounce back to where it was before in miliseconds.

If it dropped to a $1 a few million people would jump on the train so fast it would probably exceed the current price by the following day, as crazy as that sounds, there is so many people who know about btc now but would buy more if it was cheaper, especially in developing countries
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 17, 2016, 12:50:45 AM
Serious question: How do those of you who support the Monero project, i.e. want it to succeed, justify selling moneroj at this embryonic stage of the ecosystem's development? Doesn't selling moneroj weaken the Monero project by demoralizing and disincentivizing the entire ecosystem?

I'm not judging anyone here, just curious how traders who are also supporters of the Monero project (and not just profiteers) think. I'm a hodler by temperament.

Shorters (and their lenders) help Monero by

1)  Aiding stability and price discovery by providing liquidity, thus absorbing volatility and smoothing out spikes/dips, as KoziTwo explained in detail

2)  Encouraging wider distribution by filling bids when someone wants to borrow and dump, which aids Network Effect (Nielsen)

3)  Causing economic illiterates ("zomg I hate teh nasty shorters and hope tey get h4x0rd1!1!!") to self identify

4)  Increasing profits of the facilitating exchange; IE Polo benefits not only from XMR activity but also the ETH, etc. volume attracted as well, which encourages more exchange adaption via profit motive (you know the other exchanges are mad/jealous Polo is eating 41% of their ETH lunch while they fight over the leftovers)

Holy Shit that was so funny I almost Ralphed!!!

So how much is loaned out now? The lack of low cost loans right now and high BTC is keeping me bullish. Anyone wanna sell me some via paypal? PM me.

Ebay.....

727  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think will be a best time to buy bitcoin? on: November 16, 2016, 01:34:56 PM
I don't think it's a good idea to buy BTC when it's not far from its all time high price...

Meanwhile, btc holders (the people who bought some already) are up 14.44% in the last 30 days...  Roll Eyes
But you wait if it makes you feel better
I've heard this same story  when btc was $2-3
728  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden crash now? on: November 16, 2016, 01:08:39 PM
Can you please show me where there is a crash? We are down 0.25% for the day, down 0.75% for the week, up 10% for the month, and up 200% for the year.

That's just a matter of perspective Smiley
Exactly. So for everyone crying when bitcoin is value is dropping by $15 - just stop it. Bitcoin is quite stable and strong ATM.
Unless we will see some huge negative news like: major exchange hack or China restricting bitcoin then we don't have to worry about price.
Just don't panic.

You're right. Nothing out of the ordinary is happening at the moment or happened recently, so these are regular fluctuations.
fluctuation that we needed to take advantage nothing is new just need to be more furious regarding how to play with the current status.

$745....
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 16, 2016, 12:09:26 PM
I'm shorting for a while now, it'll get even better in the future as the foundation keeps dumping, icos fail and dump, more future forks and more bugs. The massive inflation and pos will be the final events.

I think it's the other way around lol
The chain with greater value will be the one with captain gigantic head and the majority community support....

EtC without Vitalik is like a a cock with no balls or something like that that....  Cheesy

I hope I'm wrong because I will be a lot richer if etC is the dominant coin but we will see which one is on the moon by about 2020
730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the best investment holding your Bitcoin? on: November 16, 2016, 09:18:07 AM
Holding the bitcoin is good and I think that it has a great future so investing is always good and I think a long term investment is even better.
just needed to make a good judgement before placing investment as we knew fluctuation happens and its should be treated as a long term investment so for your question yes it is and for sure it will be a good long term hold.

Anyone who buys a few btc now will be very happy with the returns soon, check out how much you would have now off now if you bought btc before your first smartphone...

731  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think will be a best time to buy bitcoin? on: November 16, 2016, 09:05:01 AM
Don't listen to the idiots, buy some btc as SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.....
no need to go all in, but don't be thinking about waiting until next year or the following year because btc will jump to $10,000 and then....... Put into perspective check the thread below

732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 15, 2016, 01:09:27 PM

If we get 100 USD XMR we would be looking at a fundamentally very different situation from now since that would place the market capitalization of Monero at over 1.3 Billion USD with Monero in second place behind Bitcoin. That means for example the major Bitcoin / fiat exchanges, Bitcoin payment processors etc will no longer be able to ignore Monero.

I must admit, I cannot see why other exchanges, given the volume Monero has in BTC on Polo, have not already listed Monero.

Is being 'truly private money' actually an issue for exchanges, or just the GUI - surely they would want the business? At some point they must take it on - but do we really have to wait until over a billion USD market cap for it to be a no-brainer?

The best reasons that I've heard is.

1) Its difficult to integrate. Jaxx (a wallet / exchange service) has apparently put like 80% of its effort into integrating Monero over the past month or something, and its still pending.

2) Even after integration, its hard to pull the volume from the main exchange. Case in point, bittrex lists monero, and a new one (https://tuxexchange.com/) even had a free monero giveaway to attract users.  So after all the effort of integration, there's no guarantee that your exchange will reap the same rewards as Poloniex.

So I think it does have to be a much larger market cap, perhaps.

For number 2 on your list I think I can view from experience..... People simply don't want to use the small obscure exchanges for lots of reasons....

They're is barely no liquidity for serious trade to be done by people who are playing with  $100k+ so the pool needs to be a few  millions deep already before the whales can swim....so you have a chicken and the egg problem

Also ,serious risk of being goxxed is a major factor in whether to trade small exchanges or not... You can never be sure the owner won't fake a hack job (bfx style)  and so to trade there the risks often outweigh the potential rewards...

Of course, these places are often based in areas where they are no laws in place or recourse for possible thefts etc and then you see why people tend to use the larger exchanges
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 14, 2016, 04:12:56 AM
Hey all, so i had to re-install my ethereum wallet on a new pc as the old hard drive ran out of space.

I copied my Keystore file and have copied it into the newly downloaded wallet.

The wallet is taking days to fully sync, it's still about 1000 blocks away and never quite reaches 100%.

My wallet however is showing 0 ETH balance when i've checked the blockchain and it should hold approx 25 ETH.

Any idea why the wallet is not showing my balance and why it's taking so freaking long to sync?

You need to restart it and it will show your balance if it has downloaded the block your balance is in yet....
I had problems with the eth wallet but it works if you let it run 24/7

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I am up 22.75% this quarter alone....

I'm pretty happy with that and I know more is coming soon so thank you btc  Smiley

Some news from chinese exchanges?

What news?
I read that the Chinese exchanges were thinking about promoting eth or etc, not both

If they want to promote the Ethereum, they will promote the strong version with active developments.

I think okcoin said they will support etC.....
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 13, 2016, 12:02:17 PM
I do not recall when I have seen such a Monero shortage in the lending markets. Looks like there are massive short positions built. If the margin calls hit us, the price will go to incredible heights. On the other hand, if there is a huge dump, there are takers to it (covering of the short positions).
Interesting to watch where are we heading. Personally I do not care much but I still have my popcorns and diet Coke ready for the show.

Real men drink normal coke... Are you on a diet or something?  Grin

Have you paid attention on the fact that it is the fat people that drink diet coke only.

That being said, I prefer diet also because the regular coke do not make me feel young again but just tired.

Yes, the amusing part is seeing  people waddle into KFC or McDonald's and order practically the entire menu and a diet coke to wash it down.....

The mind boggles sometimes...  Cheesy

738  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the best investment holding your Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2016, 09:25:48 AM
Holding some bitcoin for the long term may be the best way to make money. I try to supplement that by trading on the short term peaks and valleys in the price.

i think if holding long time bitcoin is not good
because bitcoin price is and range wave price is slow move
example in 2013 bitcoin price 1000 dollar, and you buy and hold until now you still lost your money not profit
is good is inday trading, shortem trade, not longterm

Btc was only $1000 due to a mt gox manipulation of the price and it was only that high for a couple of weeks

History has proven that buy and hold is a good strategy if you take the time to actually check
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 12, 2016, 10:56:51 PM
Yes. This kind of hedging strategy in order to minimize risk actually makes a lot of sense.

Yes, there is a reason why I'm still in the game, despite losing 700,000+ XMR in hacks, probably the biggest loss ever.

That's a considerable sum to lose , have you found out how it happened?

Sorry for the lose, I lost 1000+ bitcoins once myself in the early days

Can this be tied to any of the bigger sell offs or extended down markets?  Time frame?

I have friends who have probably lost even more, I had a pile of btc in UK exchange that scammed everyone years before gox..

Luckily they were pretty cheap back then so it was still possible to buy more, more recently I lost a pile when Bitfinex stole them...

The benefits still outweigh the losses overall  but it's near impossible to trade without exposure to some level of risk...

You can just hodl but that's pretty boring sitting on a stack of coins waiting for the value to appreciate ...
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: November 12, 2016, 08:59:28 PM
Really bullish right now.

Monero is a better version of bitcoin.... I think the current price will be considered very cheap as we look back in hindsight on this time....
