Yes, you are right, I don't hold any XRP, but I can buy some. I don't hold any crypto's except BTC and Nxt at the moment. Also, I have never judged your holdings of Nxt, anyone who holds Nxt is on equal grounds in my opinion. I have .84BTC as the going rate for 12k Nxt, is that correct? |

Why is no one talking about the bombshell C-F-B dropped last night in releasing the 3rd part of BCNext plan, which was basically one paragraph saying NXT was just an experiment and will fail without altrustic human cooperation?
I was hoping it was an April Fools joke but I don't think it was. If so, I've already dumped half my Nxt because of it.
Very pessimistic interpretation. I don't think it is. I've been asking here for months how you are going to get little fish to forge, how we'll get instant 1000 TPS as promised, whether the network is safe being protected only by big fish forging and no one would give a straight answer. I also come to learn Nxt doesn't work without CENTRALIZED high power VPS nodes being run at expense to anyone wanting to do so, which makes it NO different than Ripple, which by the way DOES have instant transactions. The 3rd part of the plan basically explained everything. Nxt is not an elegant financial solution. It won't work without centralization and as people lose interest the network will become weaker and weaker. Meanwhile other people are coming up with real solutions that don't involve everyone holding hands and singing Koom-By_Ya. So if BCNext said that Nxt will be in your morning cereal, would you have bought as much Nxt as possible? His 3rd part wasn't a plan at all, it was a philosophical interpretation of what he thinks of BTC, Nxt, etc.. with no specifics, and his thoughts are just that, they have no affect and influence on what Nxt has/will become. I will buy all of your Nxt for Ripple or BTC right now, put your money where your mouth is. I accept this offer. I have about 12k Nxt. make me an offer I will purchase your 12k for BTC just to be fair (ripple is worthless), what is market rate for 12k Nxt? I will send BTC to TwinWinNerD if he will do escrow. IMO the smart money trades off exchange, preferably using the bitcoin-otc web of trust. Using this forum's trust database is a distant second, considering how many people stay logged in all the time, and how many times bitcointalk itself has been hacked.
The exchanges are better suited for weekend warriors that fancy themselves day traders or small retail purchases.
Mt Gox is only the latest in a long line of cryptoexchanges that have lost significant amount of user funds.
Until the crypto economy is bigger, we probably won't see an exchange that does security and oversight correctly because the space just isn't big enough to afford a reliable service. The exchanges just can't come up with the capital needed to do it properly.
Instead we still have a bunch of pikers that take advantage of the low barrier to entry. They open an exchange and only realize they are in over their heads after their users' funds are stolen.
But who knows, when the floating point decentralized asset exchanges start cropping up, maybe centralized exchanges will be rendered obsolete. Decentralized exchange may be here before a well-funded and well-run centralized exchange emerges.

Yeah, sucks. Donate to the development fund and live happy ever after. All those 50 million nxt aren't worth crap without continuous development and marketing guys. He won't donate anything. He donated less than 0,1% of his stake to nxt development. Less than 1/3 of what he has forged. He's a selfish dead weight, and won't see that if he helped his stake would worth much more, it's a sort of investment nope, he is our fund for the future - he will be able to save Nxt when we will need to transform Nxt into the third phase of transparent forging and when we will have established some dev jobs for our future development. He already promised 10 percent of his stake for some development. Yes, he also has a 3-5mil bounty out for Atomic CCT. I believe he will distribute when the time comes. No reason for him to go on a selling spree at this point. |

wtf.... the techdev committee should just come out and say that nobody gets any unclaimed coins bounty from code uzilizing any kind of float data type. I mean, I appreciate james' dedication and his skill in all the work hes doing, allbeit on no-quite-so trustless-systems work, as most likely they will be replaced by fully decentralized and trustless systems, but we just do NOT need any floating points running around It would be nice if the tech committee came out and said anything at this point. Haven't heard squat. |

Looks great. I support NEM. But watch out for competition Exo, Numus, Edge etc. all new kids. The way I see it, tech aside, each community would need a core group of supporters. Take care of them and pay no attention to detractors. I will be back. XXX
I would disagree. Exo, Numus, Edge, all unknown developers and creators, nothing released, they could all easily be scam coins. NEM has a very trusted and intelligent group of individuals involved in development. |
