This is the last chance we will ever have to purchase a sub-$700 bitcoin.  Mainstream adoption will be achieved within 2 years.

Gee, where have I head this before?  Wink
That last spike took us to a little over $1000 so it is reasonable to expect a correction below $700.

The next spike will be at least $2000, and a sub-$700 correction would not be expected

But a short, sharp flash crash well under $700 is perfectly possible... and not detrimental to the overall uptrend.

...positive buy signal after positive buy signal, which eventually ignites the market into action...

Mat a new bull market is now building.

In a bull market the most sudden, unexpected movements are often upwards.

It's just the natural unfolding of the market. No underlying plan being implemented by a couple of whales to see here.

Bitcoin's at $660 folks on BTC-e - the most conservative exchange of them all.

...and the 1-week MACD has almost got it's last bearish block in.

Looks like you can't loose whatever you do as long as you stay in crypto.

EDIT: (Of course it also might be the dollar starting its long predicted tank. All the Russia-China pow wows on non-petro dollar oil & gas trading, Janet loving her printer even more than the Bernank, Euro deflation on the cards).

Always remember:

Fiat is highly levered credit money. 1 seat for every 10 persons max.
Crypto is unlevered base money. 10 seats for 10 persons.

Guess where's the wealth gonna run when the preverbal hits tha fan ?

The total crypto market cap is under 10billion, single corporations can be worth over 100billion. 3 years from now we'll probably be over 100bn.

1.5 years from now definately over. Question is by how much?

Based on your TA, what is your buy back in price? I have a few BTC loaded and ready to pick up some (hopefully) <0.02 DRKs.

LoL !  If only I knew.

It might not go down much at all from here - I might not get a chance to buy back in and I'm prepared to loose out considerably on the next rise.

On the other hand, if it does, it looks to me like the resistance is at 19, 15 and 10. I really don't see it going below 15 at an absolute minimum and it may just hover around 19 while a bit of profit taking goes on.

As I say, I left quite a bit in there because I'd like to be able to sleep at night either way and eat dinner with my family without crashing out to check the DRK price every 10 minutes and them thinking I need 'treatment'  Wink

I don't think it will go to 15

The coin has gone up 100% in a week. 100%! So why can't it retrace a few percent?

It's consolidation. Don't worry about the minute charts ; look at the 12h mintpal chart on bitcoinwisdom for example. Zooming out increases calm.

Agreed. It's called "profit taking" and it happens in all markets.

And the difference is when it occurs when we reach or approach an ATH, it is profit-taking.  If it occurs following bad news, it's fear.

and right now is called stupid... ;-)

People do have short memories. A week ago people were selling at .01. Today it's at .02. Next week what will it be?

I think that is my problem, because I work at computer all day it is impossible not to look at price. I will try, I believe this coin has a future if iy can get rid of some of the hate.

There is a weird coincidence between all the hate/fud tactics and DRK's price. Ever since the haters started to act in organized manner back in April, price has been steadily increasing from 0.0012 to 0.025/0.028. There was nothing like it in the period preceding this.

Of course FUD and price do not have a causal relation for the uptrend, nor can anyone claim that there is (unless a huge buyer wants to FUD the heck out of everyone else and buy their coins) yet the trend is showing it happens nonetheless.

It really is "no such thing as bad publicity":

Think of how many people wish they'd got into Bitcoin quicker, but at the time were put off by stories of dodgy exchanges, scams, the Wild West, etc. People coming to crypto now are much more aware of the fact that this environment demands a lot of self-reliance and an ability to assess projects on their real merits. People are much quicker to smell FUD these days and to be a successful investor in this space you have to be able to tune away from the FUD at will. If the project is good FUD is good - it just serves to bring more attention.

I am a new DRK investor I bought yesterday right at the top (0.024). After it crash overnight and I was tempted to sell but did not. However I was thinking and it feel like every big players bought coins knowing the Bitfinex news and then dump on all the little guys when the news came out. If being on a huge exchange like that doesn't make the price rise what will Huh

yes drk made already 100% gain with only the bitfinex-rumors around. It looked like a recovery cause of the big fall. Look at the bitcoinwisdom chart with 2h candles and zoom out. I can only recommend you to go long- or midterm with drk. And dont be sad, look at the LTC spike in march due to huobi announcement, you could have lost much more there Smiley

don't worry about the hate. It really is a case of all news is good news. The fact is that this cryptocurrency has an enthusiastic and dedicated dev (with more skills and manpower being added), a clear plan, first mover advantage, powerful waves of interest, and a perfectly attainable target (LTC) ...  I think the question is actually not whether litecoin can be reached, but how much further past lite drk will go.

Is there a lightweight implementation of this? We would like to make a version of Hive that supports it.

Excellent!  Smiley

We need an SPV version of the wallet backend to make this work. Is something like that being worked on yet?

I am not actively involved in development.

The main developer is Evan Duffield: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=107946

Another team member is coordinating other aspects: https://darkcointalk.org/members/just_mike.107/

These people will be able to tell you what you need to know.

We can just leave our coins on Bittrex until the new site is up and then send them from there, right?

So, not being a troll... but is this bitfinex a big deal thing? I really am not a trader and don't know the history of the place... they do seem to do lots of volume...

It gives a lot more access to the coin at a time when the dev team is growing, multiple upgrades are coming out of the pipeline and crypto is coming back up with a bang. I predict 2014 will be remembered for the epic battle between the lite side and the drk side.  Grin

Guys I'm now all in in BTC, vert coin and dark (bought dark at 0.003 long ago).

I was just wondering if one could consider monero a good potential coin or not?

I'm just trying to diversify and buy a little of another coin aimed at anonymity. XC doesn't interest me anymore (too shady).

Can monero be a good addition in small % to my holdings?

I'll probably get ripped to shreds for saying this but Zerocash might be an interesting hedge... when it comes out (ETA at least several months).

Until then I would consider topping up on DRK because with Bitfinex + upgrades + new swell of interest in cryptos as the new Bitcoin bubble grows I believe DRK is going to explode upwards for a while now.

My problem with Zerocash is that you have to trust the dev's to destroy the keys. Also you can't know if the money supply has been secretly increased due to the nature of Zeroknowledge proofs (would be a similar scam as the Asiacoin scam where there actually 3 billion coins instead of 300 million).

Couldn't this be proven somehow?
