761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is Moon Bitcoin faucet broke? on: August 20, 2015, 04:15:28 AM
There is special forum section if you want to discuss faucets. It is called Micro Earning Section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=212.0
And to be making fuss over $0.007 - which is your 3479 Satoshi you must be really bored. Wait for the faucet to be filled again and grab your $0.007...

I think you missed my point. It was not that I was unable to get paid some rididculous insignificant amount of bitcoin, it was that a major bitcoin faucet ran dry...which is significant considering how much volume these sites get. For example, Freebitco.in is getting about 4 million rolls per week, and at (today) 850 satoshi per roll we can estimate they have a weekly "payroll" of winnings totaling BTC42. And this assumes that all 4 million rolls earn the lowest payout and no lottery bonuses are paid.

A weekly obligation of over BTC42 and the address is out of funds? That's kind of significant! We can almost assume that Moon Bitcoin has a larger weekly obligation because they pay more per claim, but we don't know what kind of volume Moon gets, which is why I had to use freebitco.in.

The question for you is: if you don't care about this thread or my OP, why did you post something non-constructive and off topic?

Anyway, Moon Bitcoin is paying now so I'll close this thread.
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A simple poll: The future of Bitcoin block size on: August 20, 2015, 12:13:23 AM
I am very surprised to see that XT is winning. I know this is not a lot of votes but still. I thought that majority of people here supports bigger blocks but not the XT.

I don't know what to say, but it seems there will be a lot of drama about this XT thing in the near future!

This thread has alots more votes , so you can see general censensus of the community : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68655.31220

Too bad Thermos censor it and lock it. Its the largest thread of the forum too
.

Bold. This is the scary part.

So has everyone made their opinion known? 49 people on this thread...about 500 on this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68655.31200) and the majority for both is to move to XT.

I guess that's all there is to discuss about it? (Now, what's the Dollar doing today?)
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / is Moon Bitcoin faucet broke? on: August 20, 2015, 12:06:33 AM
I tried to claim several thousand satoshi today from Moon Bitcoin Faucet and received an error that the address I was trying to withdraw from did not have sufficient funds!

Is Moon Bitcoin broke? (At least they're not getting charged NSF fees!)

764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: August 18, 2015, 10:00:59 PM
Today have some good amount from faucets and no other work just trying to avoid some bad things to bring life back on track

What kind of bad things are we talking about here (if you don't mind sharing). How is earning bitcoin from faucets and others helping you get back on track?

It would be great to know and could be inspiring for others...
765  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice on buying websites on: August 18, 2015, 09:01:19 PM
Good questions, I know some of this and can direct you to someone (not on this forum) who knows a lot more.

Running/Maintaining: Content and ads. Content keeps people coming to your page. Ads gets you paid. You need to spend good time on both, it doesn't ahve to be full time but like anything it will need some regular attention (e.g., like taking care of a rental home). If you can't provide refreshed content all the time, consider hiring someone in a freelance role.

Traffic: Google website analyzer will help you understand the traffic that exists, and how you can improve it. To really get a good deal on price you'd want to find ways for the current performance to be easily improved with just a few simple moves.

Offer Price: 12 months sounds OK, but evaluate if what they're giving you for monthly revenue estimate is sustainable. They could be off a hot bit of press or promotion that's boosted revenue in recent months but likely won't continue without significant effort. Also, don't be afraid to negotiate, come in low and let him/her talk you up.

I hope this helps. I can also connect you with a front end web designer - someone who can improve or revamp the visuals on the site.
766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No less than 250 Bitcoin XT nodes are virtual servers, likely free trials on: August 18, 2015, 08:50:04 PM
This is isn't as much of a "win" for Core as you think. Any new technology option is served well by a free trial - it allows people a no-risk or low-risk point of entry, it generates good will, and it serves to build a base of first adopters.

Free trial nodes set the base from which momentum could occur. If you're against momentum I'd be weary of considering this a meaningless or trivial fact.
767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #Blocksize Survey on: August 18, 2015, 08:47:38 PM
Consensus, consensus, consensus...if we start to lose consensus we end up like fiat - it IS that simple.

Also, the more opportunities you have share your voice, the better, I invite (and strongly encourage you) to participate in this poll to echo you opinion in as many places as possible on this forum...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1153896.0

Thank you.
768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that we know most XT nodes are fake, what are the implications? on: August 18, 2015, 08:38:19 PM
Title says it.
What are the consequences? Will they still cling to their plans for the Gavincoin-attack even after it is public knowledge that their data is extremely messy and unreliable? If yes, what are the consequences of that?

You're making a huge and likely inaccurate assumption. What fact do you have that "most XT nodes are fake"? I don't think you have any facts...you have rhetoric that one person put out a way to generate a fake node and you're assuming that loads of people are doing it.

Assumptions are dangerous.

Get some facts and then come back to us!
769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A simple poll: The future of Bitcoin block size on: August 18, 2015, 08:36:32 PM
There's a lot of additional discussion about this on the Forum and Reddit. This poll is becoming more and more relevant - take this opportunity to let your opinion be heard!

Add'l Information:
-XT - First block was mined by XT miner: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1156231.0
-XT Node Adoption data - http://xtnodes.com/
-Core vs. XT - is there a difference to the average user? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1156181.0
-Discussion on too much power for the few - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1156253.0

If you're a fan of Bitcoin Core, vote for Core.

If you're not a fan of Bitcoin XT, vote for Core...as a strong sign of objection.

If you're a fan of Bitcoin XT, vote for XT.
770  Other / Politics & Society / Re: George Zimmerman Teams-Up With "Muslim-Free" Gunshop on: August 18, 2015, 07:55:40 PM
Zimmerman's actions speak for themselves.

Exactly - none of this is a surprise based on his previous actions.

It's interesting that Jeb Bush (Florida Governor, and Zimmerman lives in Florida) recently mentioned that the stand your ground law, which Zimmerman used for his defense, was NEVER intended to be used to justify Neighborhood Watch or militia type activities. It was only meant to justify a person's actions in their home, if they were being attacked in their home and responded with lethal force.

How the court perverted that specific and critical detail is astonishing.
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What sparked the recent boost in XT node adoption? on: August 18, 2015, 03:25:45 AM

When you can't determine how accurate the data is where would be a tipping point?

When the fear of being left behind outweighs the fear data accuracy. Tipping point moves are based on emotion snd bias and heresay as much as they are data.
772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Gavin is so desperate about his fork? Is he hiding something? on: August 18, 2015, 03:14:56 AM
There's a bomb implanted in Gavin's wife by evil big blockers. Unless a 1.1mb block appear in the middle of January then up she goes.

I cant believe you got paid for that...^^^

meono why did you join this forum 14 days ago and have predominantly posted in XT related posts? It seems a bit weird that all you can do is to push the XT agenda. Where were you in the past 4 years? What makes you the expert? Do you have another account? Are you a dev?

Others have called my Gavin.

But none of what you ask matters if you want to counter my points.

So what are the questions that matter? If you want to influence us, educate us...
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What sparked the recent boost in XT node adoption? on: August 18, 2015, 02:50:26 AM
I like this answer, it seems more plausible, but...

The little kiddies over at reddit spiked the XT nodes. And that's exactly what it's going to be a brief spike, they will start to fall off shortly.

In fact it looks like it's already starting to hit the ceiling.

This fake XT node talk is really hilarious! So it coukd be impossible to really track XT node adoption?! The problem is that there is a tipping point with everything and if fake XT node counts help the real XT node count get to that tipping point those that want Core will be fucked (and by people on their side!)

774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where's the financial gain for Mike and Gavin coming from ? on: August 18, 2015, 02:35:57 AM
not to mention being one of the early bitcoin instaminers Gavin scored atleast one $25 million USD windfall i know of Shocked as well as gaining 260k + a year from the bitcoin foundation of awhile......so yeah good to see we've got an alternative to those greedy bankers  Huh

well thats the past but too the future

ummm cough gemini  Wink

You're toasting to a future where two core developers control the direction of Bitcoin? Did you toast the American bank bailout as well? (Maybe i missed your sarcasm)

I appreciate the documentation and communication (blog wise and over a long period of time), but it's bot enough. These folks are blazing a new trail and i guess the vote will be in node adoption...and this move is probably harmless but it symbolizes something that Bitcoin was trying to get away from - manipulation of the system by the few. This issue woukd be amplified if its factual that Mike and Gavin are foing this for their own personal gain.
775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Missing 98% on: August 18, 2015, 02:26:50 AM
Recent report on bitcoin drug trade -about 400K$ a day
Bit Pay - about the same 400K$ a day
Blockchain info's estimated transaction volume 50-70M$ a day.

So, about  1% of bitcoin transactions - white market.
Another  1% - black market.
What are the remaining 98%? Gambling? Pron? Mixing? Transfer to&from exchanges? Spam?

I'd think altcoin trading can make a couple of million on a good day ... so there you get another 2%  to 20% of volume

And what facts do you have for your assumption?

2-20% might as well be a wild ass guess (or a super wild ass guess for those if you that love stupid acronyms).
776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Missing 98% on: August 18, 2015, 02:25:17 AM
How could those stats ever be verified?  Report was probably issued from a think tank who gets its funding from Wall Street banks...

It's the blockchain. You can count the amount of coins moving easily enough. Just add up the value.

I assume the vast majority of it is just coins moving around between wallets, exchanges and gambling sites.

I think he means how did the OP validate all if his percentages? The purpose if each transaction is not tracked on the blockchain (of course).
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What sparked the recent boost in XT node adoption? on: August 18, 2015, 02:22:38 AM
http://www.xtnodes.com

What sparked the Aug. 15th spike in Butcoin XT node adoption?

The number of nodes on XT increased by more than 300% that day...what happened to generate that volume?

Thanks.
778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Missing 98% on: August 18, 2015, 02:19:37 AM
How are you arriving at 1% white market?

Can you share the math, please show your work.  Grin
779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you didn't get paid for your signature, would you still care about Bitcoin? on: August 18, 2015, 02:12:45 AM
How much is sig. space worth these days?...

Good question, the answer is "it depends." But what is gor certain us that a post with a question like that is not only not constructive (because the infirmation is widely available) it's also off topic (because you didn't answer my question), so you wouldn't have gotten paid for it anyway! And you probably would have gotten avwarning from someone.

Yes I would. I see Bitcoin more as an entertainment. Signature campaigns sure do help but I've never got rich of them. The real moneymaker for me would be affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Marketing: so signature ad campaigns that allow you to put your referral code in the link to the website? Sounds like you might be closer than you think.

How much is sig. space worth these days?...
The highrst rate i've seen was 0.00075BTC per post. I'm getting 0.00025 per post with my rank. There is an overview of the signature campaigns in this forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

People are getting paid a lot more than this...have you ever read the thread at the link you provided?!?!
780  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn 1BTC a year? on: August 17, 2015, 08:57:58 PM
Work your job until you've made BTC1...that's the easiest way. There's no service, signature campaign, or dice game that will reliably earn you bitcoin faster than working whatever job you work all day long. So if you want to earn your salary in bitcoin sign up for one of the services that will convert your paycheck into bitcoin and deposit it into a wallet for you. Live off the grid, live with Bitcoin!

As for signature campaigns, to earn BTC1 per year you need to earn an average of BTC0.08333333 per month or BTC0.02 per week. For one of the higher Bit-x campaign payouts, that's only 20 posts a week - pretty likely for anyone to post that much, even if they're not in a signature campaign. This assumption is using a BTC0.001 rate per post. If you're not senior enough to earn that rate yet, just give it time...you'll get there quickly.
