761  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap hacked on: October 23, 2021, 10:58:40 PM
The weirdest part is this quote, which means they don't know what exactly happened, and just because the password hasn't been hacked doesn't mean that customer data is safe.
I also didn't notice any new security update they made.

I never wanted to create an account with them because they are offering service for free so we can't expect our emails to be safe there. Anyway users should be careful now with the phishing attacks it may not happen immediately but since the data like email exposed we can expect the scammers use this to promote scams or steal crypto funds.
You can check different temprorary email websites, some of them aren't blacklisted. Also, you can create brand new acount on Gmail without much additional (and correct) information and use it for cases where you don't want to use your primary email. I guess people rarely use only single email, right? Idk...

That's what happens when you spend too much time bragging on Twitter and don't spend money on security for your infrastructures.
I'm kidding but it's somewhat true for many companies (crypto or not).

Many companies neglect investments in security, even when they operate in sensitive business areas (like finance for example).
Guess why many (too many) crypto platforms have been hacked over the years? Then guess why those that invest literally millions of dollars have never had any problems? If you don't take proactive measures, you will have problems sooner or later

I don't know when this incident happened, but the fact that they didn't even make an announcement, or even send an email to their user base, says a lot about how they consider the members using their service
Coinmarketcap is owned by Binance, right? I think it may have some temporary effect on their reputation but people will forget it very soon. Btw coinmarketcap isn't a financial service provider and seems they didn't care much about that but it's funny when you pay enormous amount of money to acquire CMC but do nothing to improve the security.
Like you said, that truly shows how they treat the users but again, people forget things easily. It didn't have any influence on BNB coin btw.
762  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixer Bitwhisk.io seized by the FBI on: October 19, 2021, 11:01:45 PM
Could be fake. The one on BestMixer was just a plain image: https://archive.is/sBZZy

Bitwhisk's "seized" page has an animated background and actual HTML text. Maybe the FBI hired a new web developer?
There is a plain image on weleakinfo.com so...

Am I the only one who thinks that the text "You are not anonymous" wouldn't be written by FBI and the website in reality isn't seized?

The you are not anonymous tag line was displayed on the BestMixer website when their domain was seized. I don’t think this specifically is an indication that the site was not seized. However, my previous post does make the argument that this is an exit scam.
Really? I think that kind of message done via that way seems a little unethical for FBI. I really couldn't expect that they did something like that because that message looks like a threat against that website users. Idk, that's just my idea, such a message from them looks childish.

Yeah, I saw the previous post but at the same time there isn't a press release written on each domain that becomes seized. Usually only the famous domains are mentioned, idk if BitWhisk was belonging to that group (I knew that mixer but what was their traffic and mixing volume).

I still think (like you) that it's an exit scam and this Seize banner was made just to make it scam less scammy.
763  Economy / Economics / Really, why bitcoin has this value? on: October 19, 2021, 10:39:49 PM
At some point I am really messed up and lost in vein when it comes to bitcoin's price. I think that every second it gets more and more a victim of speculation and gets abandoned from its original idea.
If bitcoin could perform very well at 6K some months ago, why it become 60K after some months? And then it went back to 30K but was still functioning very smoothly, i.e. it was doing the job it was created for.
Again, If bitcoin could perform well at 30K some weeks ago, then why it worth 60K right now? I just don't get it when people say that bitcoin isn't speculated and all of these prices are just natural.
764  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - Advanced Dice Game 🎲 Sportsbook 🏟️ Slots 🎰 on: October 19, 2021, 10:08:25 PM
I also believe that paying a little extra so that you could withdraw from casino is a very important thing. You could wait for it from some other person because you could chat with them and ask how it is going or check blockchain if it is gone and so forth, you could do that from an exchange because you can see it there and you know what is going on and it is riskless.
Sorry but I didn't understand what you mean.

But, when we are talking about a casino I feel like we should be very careful about it, like take your money out of a casino as soon as possible the moment the you want it and you should be getting in a minute or less. The reason for this is that the longer you linger the more you may end up spending, so pay a little more but get out right away.
The moment you asked for withdraw from casino, your funds are proceed and you aren't able to gamble, i.e. when you click the withdraw button, you are no longer to gamble, so, there is no problem in this case I guess and it has nothing to do with the time of transaction process and then confirmations on blockchain.
Btw there are some solutions for these kind of users even without withdrawing:
1. Ask to freeze their account for a while (you won't be able to unlock it even if you request).
2. Some casinos offer additional wallet where you can lock your funds.

Btw that's the personal problem that needs to be treated, it means that you are addicted to gambling and like other kind of addictions, this one can ruin your life.
765  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fomo AGAIN? on: October 19, 2021, 09:49:11 PM
Where were you when the price hit 30K for multiple times? This was clear indicator that there was a very strong support on that line and I guess that we have to risk sometimes. The perfect time doesn't exist because you can't predict the future but the perfect risks exists that can bring you a good profit. Life is a risk, every moment is a risk.
I don't give financial advise but this is the good and bed moment at the same time. Personally, I think that since we are near to new ATH, price will continue to rise and we will see another bullrun. Maybe it won't be as intense as old bull runs because price is already very, very high and we won't go from 60K to 2 million (but we went from $600 to 20K back in 2017, though) but maybe we hit 100K and then huge fall may happen like BTC went from 20K to 3K at past, then it will play in certain price frame.
766  Economy / Economics / Re: Will circular economy work ? on: October 19, 2021, 09:17:57 PM
Will circular economy work ?

The circular economy is a model of production and consumption, which involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended.

In practice, it implies reducing waste to a minimum....
https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/headlines/economy/20151201STO05603/circular-economy-definition-importance-and-benefits
It should work and it's better for the society in overall. Imagine: Instead of paying high price in new, you buy old in cheap price and make a new one out of it. Imagine if you could upgrade old PC components via recycling them instead of buying new ones every time, this is the case here. It's not only good for the nature but it can be cost effective for the business, it can meet the high demand and increase the supply.
We will adopt the circular economy. As time goes, the things change and this is the new thing that will come up in near future Smiley I guess it's becoming popular in Western Europe?
767  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop lose trading feature on: October 19, 2021, 08:26:27 PM
I Am stock in-between the decision to trade and when to go on a break from trading, but I will like to have my capital on a stable trade and am considering using the stop lose features on the exchange to execute trades on my behalf while being away.
So have anyone used the stop lose the feature please share your experience.
I suggest everyone to use stop-loss feature but I still think it depends on what kind of personality you have.
1. Are you a person who can risk his capital for planned profits even if something doesn't go the way he wants, go va bank and wait for years if necessary? (Reminder: There were some people who sold houses and bought bitcoin back in 2017. They thought that they lost everything but if they waited for 4 years, then they would see 3x profit).
2. Are you a person who gets anxiety and the rash of jittery adrenaline when something doesn't immediately goes the way he/she planned? If yes, then you need stop-loss feature or better forget trading.
3. If you are between these two, better to use stop-loss and improve your trading and research, analytical skills.
768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: October 19, 2021, 07:16:05 PM
I was with a friend today who was in a hurry to place his bet on some numbers that were sent to him for some football matches that he believes are fixed. I'm a bit confused how fixed matches work.

Are fixed matches real? Do the coach and players of teams were matches have been fixed, do they consent to it? If you were in a team were your next fixture has been fixed, what will be your reaction?

Real fixed matches don't happen in that way. I mean, then you shouldn't know that from your friend and the persons similar of your friend (don't get it wrong), will never know fixed matches.
But yeah, fixed matches really exist and happen. The scheme behind it is very complex. You know, there are big drug dealers who produce and sell, the same applies to fixed matches, it happens on that level of anonimity, so, the average person can't know the fixed matches, only the team who does that knows it. Also, there is a very big punishment on the persons who do fixed matches and those who actually know that it's fixed and bet on these fixed matches (usually these are the persons who do that matches).

Even Qtum team escrowed funds on this forum (and escrower was SFR10), so, it shouldn't be a problem for you. Please don't make a problem out of thin air.
770  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixer Bitwhisk.io seized by the FBI on: October 18, 2021, 11:07:15 PM

There is a plain image on weleakinfo.com so...

Am I the only one who thinks that the text "You are not anonymous" wouldn't be written by FBI and the website in reality isn't seized?
Also, almost everytime I have seen seized websites, there was always logo on the seize image. Bitwhisk is the exception in this case

When Bestmixer has been seized in 2019, they started to investigate 1 year before. In fact, it started 1 month after the launch of the mixer. So we can say since the begining. They collected 1 year of email support, BTC addresses, IPs, transaction details,...
Curious, do they track the signature campaign managers and/or participants of bitcoin mixers too? Managers are usually the ones who are in touch with the owners...
Imagine if FBI guy works here as a sig campaign manager Cheesy

I remember months later they arrested a guy with a ton of cash, BTC wallets, luxury watches, and IICRC gold
Just remembered the story of Gal Vallerius who was arrested on Beards Festival.
771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you quit Bitcoin if a shitcoin like Ethereum surpassed it? on: October 18, 2021, 10:20:56 PM
This thread clearly shows this:
1. There are people who post for the sake of signature campaign
2. There are some people who blindly support bitcoin
3. There are people who are neutral and see the pros and cons in both currencies.

Why would someone call Ethereum a shitcoin? There were a lot of great project built on Ethereum and new ones are still built and built.
At least have a look at this: https://consensys.net/enterprise-ethereum/best-blockchain-for-business/11-ways-ethereum-can-benefit-enterprise/

OP, please explain in more details why Ethereum is shit compared to Bitcoin. What you wrote is just a meaningless mix of words, apologize for that but that's true.
772  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon musk now the richest man in earth on: October 18, 2021, 09:45:11 PM
Elon may sustain it for longer time but there's always an end to every beginning much like Bill Gates where he is the world's most richest man on earth but later on didn't became the world's most richest person on earth but still on the top 10 though. We won't know for how long elon will keep the title of being the world's richest person on earth. Only time will tell.
This is pretty much what I wanted to say too.
I would add: The morning sun never lasts a day Smiley
What makes me sad is that while this man does some good, he does bad too. Lies, manipulated the crypto market for his own wealth growth, then crashed it even again for the growth of his own wealth. Some may be pro Musk and say that there is nothing wrong with it but helping such methods to become richer than others (your opponents) isn't a good idea.
Also, for me, the fact that someone is the richest, means that he/she doesn't do much for the society. He/She can do even, even more and more.
773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can 1 Bitcoin buy in your country? on: October 18, 2021, 09:00:33 PM
Pretty interesting but the funniest thing here is that at the end of the year, the value of bitcoin may be so high that we may laugh at current images or may cry Cheesy

You can buy this house at one good village that's near to our capital
Image loading...

Now this reminds me the old Bitcoin Pizza transaction. That person could buy up to 10 000 this kind of house in my country, can you believe that? And he could rent these houses. Ehh, I cry on this instead of him Cheesy

laszlo Where are you...
774  Economy / Economics / Re: Will we see new ATH this year? on: October 17, 2021, 11:23:56 PM
I think it should be obvious by now that reaching a new all time high is basically inevitable at this point and that it does not matter what the governments and banks think about this since they do not have control of this market and they are not able to use the same measures that they can use against all other markets, so at this point what we need to wonder is how high do we think the price can go? And personally I think that at minimum we could reach 100k before the end of this year.
Right now it's obvious but at the time of when I was writing this, it wasn't really obvious I guess. The price was 48K at 18 september, then China announced some shit and it felt to 40K, then it slowly started to rise and I thought that after so many accidents from China, Elon Musk and other sources when the price was reaching 40-50K, something would come up and it would fall again. But right now, yeah, the image is very bright and it clearly shows the bulls are on the full run and there is nothing that can stop bitcoin from reaching it's ATH again.

Arrested?
Please do elaborate..
Hopefully this dude is a time traveler .... and meant the arrest of Craig Wright.

Otherwise, just like you, I would like to receive clarifications, since I do not remember such a precedent.  Roll Eyes
Craig Wright - Australia
Jorg Molt - Germany (2021)

Wish I was time traveler  Undecided
776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putin believes Bitcoin has value on: October 17, 2021, 10:41:37 PM
If Putin is positive about that, there are two things that come to my mind.
1. Either this man is doing evil thing (Can't remember something kind from him).
2. He really sees the value and predicts the future of cryptocurrencies and this will be a new cold war between the Russian and USA. So, this statement from Putin will turn alarm for USA to do more research around crypto and say another statement or act according to it.
When Russia does something, USA always keeps an eye on it and opposite, so, this news can accelerate the adoption process in both countries.
777  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun | 0.28% House edge | Live tables | Baccarat |Slots| InstantWithraw on: October 17, 2021, 08:03:17 PM
1. People who will join this Freeroll tournament everyone will receive 10,000 fun token for playing.
I think you have to change your token term because freebitco.in is using real FUN tokens that are tradable on exchanges and I guess it will mislead to new users. Maybe offer your players tokens named Jack instead of FUN? Idk, it's your choice, just mentioned that FUN token actually exists and freebitco owns it right now.
Check it: https://funtoken.io/

Also, when I visit https://blackjack.fun/game/redorblack I can click on the wheel image, hold and move anywhere I want via my mouse, I guess that shouldn't be like that.
778  Other / Meta / Re: [BCT FACT] Bitcointalk was originally on Bitcoin.org but ... drama on: October 17, 2021, 07:05:21 PM
Found this thread from another one but I think it's a good place to ask this question.
There were times when different "Satoshi Nakamoto" claimers were investigated and arrested, one happened in Germany, another one in Australia and the story goes on. Since it's obvious that satoshi created the forum, was posting here, gave access on forum to other members, etc, because of these reasons, was there ever an attempt of investigation on Theymos, Cyrus and other old and famous bitcointalk members?
779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Tips- what kind of strategies do you use when playing? on: October 16, 2021, 11:36:00 PM
I fell in love with poker when the whole Texas Hold'em craze started around 2003-4ish range.  I was in college at the time and man we played every single night for months on end.  Bought a chip set as well which I still have.  Unfortunately I haven't been playing as much as I'd like to lately, but plan to start getting in to playing more soon.  I'm just curious what kind of strategies you guys employ when playing?  I know there aren't a ton of tricks one can use, but there are some out there.  I guess there's also a big difference when you're playing in person ( bluffing strategies ) vs playing online.  I'd like to hear tips/tricks/strategies for both!
Online, most likely you are purely depend on luck when you play on fast tables, on tables where you aren't paused for a second and table is immediately filled or you are put somewhere else.
Personally I try to establish myself on certain table. I play a lot at first, most likely my movements are out of logic (Sometimes) and I just try to keep the first bankroll as max as I can. Then, during these time, players come and go, some of them will stay here on long term. I try to make myself appear unpredictable and learn my opponents at the same time. Sometimes, I even fall when I have 90% chance of win and show my cards to the players who just won over me via bluff. Sometimes, I bluff and follow with the cards that would 100% lose me. Then players are lost in vein and sometimes its a gamble for them to follow me or not.
780  Economy / Gambling / Re: Where to report gambling fraud? on: October 16, 2021, 10:24:01 PM
There was a time when we had the user - game-protect who was doing all the job for fighting scam casinos, gambling fraud and was helping users to claim back the money that casino had owned to them. Sadly, this user died in that fight.

Haha, okay, just a joke.

Gambling frauds are reported in Scam Accusation section that is a sub board (along with Reputation) of Trading Discussion section. But scam accusation thread has its format that you have to follow.
Here is the format - Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly)
