7641  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ufasoft Coin - Multi-currency Open Source client for Windows on: July 22, 2014, 11:44:47 AM
Lite mode works for BTC and some other currencies.
When it is enabled, the client requests only Txes for its own addresses.

Where does it request these TXes? Any bitcoin full node or specific servers? (like Electrum)

Bitcoin full node I think.

I think always using on screen keyboard will make it very safe from keyloggers

I only use on screen keyboard for simple purposes. How can you type everything in on screen keyboard? or Are you telling that you type passwords and other sensitive datas with on screen keyboard? Roll Eyes

7644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Anonymity so important to you? on: July 22, 2014, 11:29:58 AM
Anonymity is important to me because no one needs to know what I'm doing. Im not saying I'm involved in criminal activities but, I like my privacy.

1. I don't have to report anything
2. I don't have to pay tax on it. Just the small transaction fee.
3. It finally gives people(in my opinion)some financial freedom.
4. No one knows how much money I have.
5. I don't have to pay a bank $15 a month for an account. The days of getting interest from banks is gone.
6. No one knows what I do with my money or how I spend it.
7. I have no limit on how much I can deposit or withdrawal

I could go on and on. Some of these reasons aren't necessarily for anonymity, but more so reasons to use bitcoin.

I like anonymity for the same reason one the above quote excelt one thing, I will pay my tax though and give Zakkath but now I didn't reach the any limit. I don't like cheating my own country. Smiley

7647  Other / Meta / Re: Need Help from theymos : Can't Access My acc/ on: July 22, 2014, 11:09:18 AM
I think I can't recover it now , so  I request either block it if possible or leave a negative feedback if anyone see's someone trying to sell it. or started posting through it , If I'll get it back I'll post it here, otherwise Someone else is using it. Sad thing is that I still can't figure out whether I lost it to some hacker or some glitch in system.

Did you told password to any friends or someone else? Is the e-mail linked to the account yours? If he changed, then you will get an approval mail, right?

7648  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VISA & MASTERCARD blocked Russians from accessing their money on: July 22, 2014, 11:00:58 AM
What are Russians doing at the moment with their money?

Sanctions might be getting worse and fast, due to the airplane.  If I was in Russia I would be converting all my disposable money into Bitcoin - Bitcoin shouldn't change that whole much but the Russian economy could be in the gutter if big sanctions are placed against it.

I don't think Russians are much aware of bitcoin.  I am thinking about to logging in in to my VK account and spread the word BTC to all. I have got many friends. I just want to recover my pass. I last logged in more than 4+ months ago.

Can you provide at least hash rate on cg miner or bfg miner? For more proof you will have to make a video : connecting to PC, opening a miner, show us the hash rate. Otherwise, this is a scam.

My activity didn't update too. I think it will update on or before 13th. Smiley I think it is 2 week interval which starts after you sign up. So I the date which the update is done will differ from users to users.

7656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How safe is an Encrypted Bitcoin core wallet with a strong password? on: July 22, 2014, 10:01:13 AM
Not very if you have a key logger and hacker can some how retrieve your wallet.dat

It is safer than having an easy to guess password and obviously having no password would be like handing it on a platter.

I would do this (after you have finished with the client each time) Rename wallet.dat to something else, move it out of the normal directory (preferably off the PC). You would still be vulnerable to key logger and 1000 other scenarios, but if someone got access to your PC they might search/scan for wallet.dat and hopefully moves on when they can not find it.

And what to do if the keylogger searches for ".wat" in the start bar?

You can easily rename the file type to something else like .wkshw and rename it back to .dat when you needs it. They most probably won't spend time to search for a file type like this.

All most all of the key loggers upload the inputs. I couldn't see any other types of key loggers.

7657  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: July 22, 2014, 09:41:08 AM
The ROI is close to 7-9 months right? Most ponzi that admit their ponzis (hyips) would only take 2-3 months to get ROI that's why they last for less than a year. PBMining's payout per GH decreases each time. Ponzis usually have a fixed % which is why they fail so quickly. If it is a ponzi, it is the most popular one out there. Word spreads, more people invest and as long as this keeps up, the risk of them shutting down is one of the lowest (if not the lowest) of ponzis out there.

PBMining can easily decrease their payout according to the profitability. Less payout means more profit for them. I don't think that is a good statement to proove PB isn't a ponzi scheme. Smiley

7658  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Armory or Electrum? on: July 22, 2014, 09:35:10 AM
Why not use both?

They serve different functions due to different characteristics.  Armory has the potential to have the most setup possible with true cold offline storage.  Electrum is light and easy to use.

If you have 137 BTC, I would put 125BTC in an Armory offline wallet and have it secured and sleep soundly at night.  The other 12 BTC can be used in Electrum for day to day type transactions.

That is good suggestion. So which will you choose in this : Multibit or Electrum?

7659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do You Buy BTC? on: July 22, 2014, 09:20:04 AM
I do face to face trades, meeting people in real life.

Be careful when you do face to face trades. It is very dangerous. Try to it in most crowded area.

i wouldn't lay it on too thick -- people are buying/selling on localbitcoins legitimately all the time, every day. but yes, just meet in a Starbucks or something. i mean -- why would you meet anywhere NOT in public?

Even if you do in public with less crowded area, there is a chance of robbery. There was a post earlier telling that some people tried to get BTC by force, luckily he escaped from there. That  is why I told "most crowded area". Smiley Keep a distance from the person you buy or sell.

7660  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Ufasoft Coin - Multi-currency Open Source client for Windows on: July 22, 2014, 09:02:01 AM
Last version has Light Wallet (menu Mode)

I like the sound of a light wallet! Can you give us more details?
Do we need to download a small part of the blockchain or need to access a remote server?
(It am still on 0.82 and it is working fine, don't want to mess it up)  Grin
0.92 supports both: Full and Lite modes.
Lite mode works for BTC and some other currencies.
When it is enabled, the client requests only Txes for its own addresses.
This feature is still experimental and subject to modify and optimize in the next versions.
But Full mode is very slow with huge BTC database.

Is it stable? LTC and Doge works on Lite mode, won't they?
