The features of most of them seem quite clearly to be caricaturized stereotypical Jewish.

Like what? We must have different stereotypes of jews here in the U.S., all I see is a bunch of old fucks playing monopoly.

Not saying that it wasn't anti-semitic, or that it was, just saying I don't see the stereotype there.

Way I see it, attempting to strive for the peace using a violent system is fruitless.
This statement makes sense. However, the jump from there to "no voting whatsoever" strikes me as odd. If there is a system which incorporates violence, yet allows a nonviolent vote to stop the violence, how can that vote be immoral?
With less rhetoric (actually just more words):
Consider an area where marijuana is prohibited by force. If the majority of the citizens vote to legalize marijuana (unconditionally), then nothing happens except the force stops. In this case the vote is certainly not immoral, and it might even be moral (though it probably stops short of imperative).
783  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Libertarian my ass! on: April 10, 2013, 01:08:52 AM
force by proxy
Ah, shit. There goes my whole "vote for softer chains" idea. Although, it might still be moral to vote for a lack of force (e.g. legalizing marijuana)...?
Yeah, as long as it's not a "tax and regulate."

I prefer to simply ignore bad laws like that, myself.
Cool. Strange how much 3 words can change your outlook when you use logic and avoid being defensive.
784  Economy / Economics / Reciprocal price chart please. on: April 10, 2013, 01:01:06 AM
Can anyone make a graph of the USD price, measured in bitcoins? (Hint: it's just bitcoin price-1)

I want to see the USD bubble pop.
785  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You would be crazy to spend bitcoins when its rising so much in value on: April 10, 2013, 12:58:50 AM
Is a rising "bitcoin price" measured in dollars or goods equal to a falling "goods price" measured in bitcoins?
If so, we can simply look at falling "goods prices" measured in USD to see if people will hoard forever.

Computer parts are constantly getting cheaper. This means the "dollar price" measured in computer parts is rising. Do we hoard dollars forever? No, we buy computers even though they will be cheaper later.

QED.

788  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price down to 4.25 - How low will it go? on: April 09, 2013, 08:37:56 PM
Now the price has continued sinking down to 4.25, it does not show any signs of slowing down.
Units???

792  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should a Jewish resturant owner be forced to serve a skinhead? on: April 08, 2013, 03:02:54 AM
I've given a lot of thought to racism. I'm repulsed by it, but I don't think it morally wrong, at least not initially.
Just as it's not morally wrong to believe the moon landing was a hoax, it's not morally wrong to believe in the superiority of a race.

Racism is factually wrong.

Just as it's morally wrong to shoot Buzz Aldrin, it's morally wrong to shoot a Jewish person.

When violence is involved for racial reasons, it becomes morally wrong. Most of the disgust with racism comes from a combination of its obvious factual incorrectness and the moral wrongs committed in its name (lynching, the Holocaust, etc).

Forcing someone not to murder is OK, because the force is less abhorrent than the prevented act. Forcing someone to serve another person is not OK, because the force involves violence which is worse than the initial refusal of service.

BITCOINSM

You have 2 cows
You milk them as long as you can and make babybel cheese bits.
Eventually you plan on retiring on the Bits.
BITCOINISM

You have 2 cows.
Proudhon assures you that you will soon have only 1 cow.
Now you have 20 cows.
Now you have 200 cows.
Now you have 2000 cows.
794  Economy / Economics / Re: Economists have it dead wrong... bitcoin will cause inflation on: April 07, 2013, 04:55:11 PM
you cant compare the price deflation of computers and cell phones with the massive price inflation we have seen with BTC.

Not disagreeing with all yalls points, but come on, there is a huge difference between the spikes we have seen and normal price deflation in the markets that happen in scales of years. Thats like saying just cause I poured a cup of water on your head and nothing bad happened, that I can dump 50,000 gallons on your head and you will be ok as well.

Bitcoin's current level of deflation is temporary. You can't have 1% annual deflation with this amount of new money entering the market. Eventually, though, the new money stream will dry up and we will reach a healthy deflationary market.
795  Economy / Economics / Re: Economists have it dead wrong... bitcoin will cause inflation on: April 07, 2013, 02:37:08 PM
If people will always hoard deflationary currency and wait for cheaper prices, they will do so with the dollar, too.
The cost of computer components and cell phones are, on average, dropping all the time.
Therefore, nobody will buy computer components or cell phones with the dollar.

Or:
Those who do not produce, find, or purchase food will starve to death.
Therefore, in a society with nothing but deflationary currency, people will either grow/find all their food, or they will purchase it.
Deflation simply discourages unnecessary purchases.

Or:
The anti-deflation argument posits that nobody will purchase goods when the goods will be worth less money later on.
Why do merchants accept U.S. dollars when they will be worth less later on?
To rephrase, why would you sell your chair for $90 today when you could sell it for $100 next year, if you wouldn't buy a couch for 100 BTC today when it will be worth 90 BTC next year?
796  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 06, 2013, 01:41:50 AM
From the Wiki:

Quote
priority = sum(input_value_in_base_units * input_age)/size_in_bytes

Given that the larger input was very recently confirmed, it makes sense that the transaction is a low priority. But not being included in a block for over a day seems out of the ordinary. Granted, I always pay transaction fees. With the obvious exception of this time, since Blockchain's Android app wanted me to pay 0.005, so I hit cancel, and then it sent the transaction without a fee.
Also from the Wiki:
Quote
A transaction will be sent without fees if these conditions are met:
  • It is smaller than 10 thousand bytes.
  • All outputs are 0.01 BTC or larger.
  • Its priority is large enough (see the Technical Info section below)

I learned about Bitcoin in 2011, just before it went on its first massive run, from less than a dollar to a peak of $35 that summer. I didn't think it was worth anyone's time then, and it's still not worth anyone's time now....

Oops.
Translation: I'm pissed that I could have turned a profit even if I'd bought at exactly the wrong time last year. Allow me to sour your grapes.
798  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-04 Bloomberg 'Sorry, Libertarians, History Shows Bitcoin Isn't Future' on: April 06, 2013, 01:25:52 AM
Bitcoin's hyperdeflation is temporary.  The value eventually will top out—or, Heaven forbid, crash—and the deflation should settle into the range of the growth rate of the Bitcoin economy.  When it does, we finally can get down to the real business of doing real business.
Exactly. Bitcoin's M1 needs to grow to a suitable size. Right now, rather than a deflationary spiral, we're just seeing new money enter the market.

Well put together, it's visually appealing and factually correct.
