801  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go. Bitcoin ripping through $4000 on: March 08, 2019, 05:22:02 PM
I think bitcoin is quite difficult to break the price of $ 4000. well, for a while the price of bitcoin did indeed reach $ 4200, but it didn't last long, and returned to below $ 4000 again. however, at this time there is an increase again, and hope the price of bitcoin is stable at prices above $ 4000.
Aside from the recent rise that goes above $4k. We are under $4k for quite some time now. We are having little increase now. Hope we got to see a new floor on $4k this time because resistance below $4k is really strong. Anyway, waiting if the price will cross $4k again with this rise.

Well i don't think it'll be hard to break 4k at this point although same thing may happen and big players may short their coins just above that price to keep us within the current value. Personally i don't have a problem with this since it gives people still ample time to get in. The bull run that people have been fussing about may not happen for a while.
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we wait for a big drop in BTC? on: March 08, 2019, 05:15:25 PM
Bitcoin already hit the bottom and that big drop wont happen. Bitcoin stays strong despite of the negative reviews that we  are seeing on social media sites. Another pump on bitcoin price will happen on the nest 24 hours.
No one knows where the bottom of bitcoin, and actually there is still such growth that we can say that bitcoin went into a bullish trend , I think the fall will still be but what a big or not, it's hard to say

We're already in a big drop and there could just be continuation. For the bottom, i mean who really can tell? This is market where people have their own speculations and none of those are assured. We could have bottomed out already or another dump may happen in the future. If you're waiting for a big drop to make an entry point, well the difference probably won't be that big anyway.
803  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bulls vs bears... what side are you on? on: March 08, 2019, 05:10:04 PM
The people in your list aren't bitcoin "bears".They are anti-bitcoin haters.
A bitcoin bear,is a trader that expects that the bitcoin price will go down,so he sells now and buys later at a cheaper price, which means he gets profits. The people in your list are saying that bitcoin is bullshit and will die sooner or later.
True, a bear despite his position that the market will go down is someone that is directly engaged in the market so their opinions holds more weight to me than the opinion of someone that is not really part of the market and in some cases they do not even understand bitcoin or why it exists at all, as a member of this forum you may guess that I am on the bull side when it comes to the long term price of bitcoin but when it comes to the next months I am neutral and I do not see a huge movement happening.

Well that's just how most people perceive what bears are. Honestly, i think you can't really choose sides. Unless of course you have enough bitcoins to be able to move the market on a whim. Bulls and bears can be the same group of persons you knows.
804  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price on: March 07, 2019, 03:49:05 PM
Well as far bitcoin is concern, I do not agree that it is only demand and supply that affects the price. If we saybis only demand and supply , how come we experienced a crash in early last year after we had the ATH. I think fud and the bubble story are also part of what affects price.

You also need to understand that the market works in cycles, last 2017 was the last great bullish cycles and eventually everyone was caught in the hysteria and thinking it won't go down, unfortunately a new cycle risen that up to this point, we are still experiencing it and no one knows for sure when it's going to end.

that is a very good point and people don't seem to take lessons from the history and the mistakes they have made. now they are repeating the same mistake again but in the opposite direction! now that price has dropped for so long, they are caught in a different type of hysteria and are starting to think that the drop has to continue forever!

Well hype dies down eventually and i think the hysteria that adds to this bear market is starting to wane away now. That's why i'm quite positive with the current status of bitcoin becoming a little lazy at a certain point. It's a time of accumulation if you're the type who sees things from a long term perspective.
805  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is difficult to rise above the price of $ 4000?? on: March 07, 2019, 03:44:12 PM
Yeah it's difficult to rise above 4k because there's always a manipulation in the market and in my opinion if this factors always happen especially when the value increasing gradually  for sure market will become stagnant below 4k until year end.

Well not really. As we saw the past 2 weeks, 4k can be hit. Even for a short time. The problem is staying above 4k or sustaining a run beyond that level. Big players are probably content with making little profits over time that' why btc got shorted and dropped back after hitting 4.1k
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: March 06, 2019, 04:13:11 PM
Its just a game and anything can really happen which not all situations will favor you and just like what we are seeing on Lebrons situation.Even how good or talented you are but your team isnt
effective no matter how hard you try to carry then it would still end up to be hopeless and he's really aware on their current standing and his motivation might be affected as well and just let this year
to pass and would plan to have a comeback on next years season.
This season is very important for Lebron James because he is consistent in entering the playoffs and even in the NBA finals.
For the Lakers maybe not because they are still in rebuilding stage and it's not an assurance that if they have Lebron they will be in the playoffs.
Compared to last season, they have good improvement this season so far but the fans has a big expectation on Lebron and the Lakers because he is a great player.
For a player like Lebron calibre then we would really always expect that the team he would carry would able to reach playoffs or even on finals but look at their current standing?
Not a hater but they do make their chances getting slimmer as they lost each game they do face and we cant do anything about it if they wont able to make it through the playoffs.

Lol. Have you seen how james has been playing the past games? Damn. Yeah they very likely won't make the playoffs this year but dude, at least be professional enough to still put in effort each game. This season has really put a smear in james' legacy. I think the anthony davis drama and the lakers' management's willingness to put everyone on the trading block took a lot away from the team. Magic is as much to blame here.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 146: Lewis vs Dos Santos Prediction and Info Thread on: March 06, 2019, 04:06:31 PM
Lewis looks more powerful than Dos Santos. He has more TKO wins than Junior. I saw this guy swings wildly and knock a big guy in one punch while Junior isn't as hard puncher.

Well i've seen jds in his prime and he IS a destructive puncher. He's a striker and usually puts his opponents to sleep in his wins, though he's obvuously struggled with good wrestlers and all around fighters then like cain. Both are ko artists but i'd lean a little to lewis here since the veterans i were rooting for weren't doing good recently.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Psychological Technique - Play without Pressure on: March 06, 2019, 04:02:26 PM
Do you think the winning effect causes the feeling of being invincible in the game? In many games, we use techniques, strategies, where you can find patterns, but the psychology we have in our brain is not accepting when we are losing, and we want to recover ... Is it a mistake to think this? Or should we assume the loss and come back at another time?

Many of these questions arise when we play, but we got a quick response and a solution: go ahead!

There are games like poker, where it is based on technique, cunning, psychology and luck. Some see it as a game full of attitude to deceive your opponents, others are experts with their techniques developed by experience.

When many players fall into vice, it is very difficult to control, some players end up losing everything, but you can apply the psychology of self-control.

For example: I enter the game with a certain balance, if I assume that this balance is totally lost, I can have two possibilities:

1.-As you know that this money you give for lost, you play without any pressure to see what happens, applying and giving free rein to your multiple strategies to see what results I can achieve.

2.- You play with the reason, waiting for you to recover your balance and multiply it.

I have applied this type of psychology always with option 1 and I play without stress. If I lose, I assume my loss, and if I win, it's like lifting a trophy. Do you think it's a way to escape from that little pressure that is exerted when playing? Have you ever applied this type of psychology?

It's a way for some people, for other gamblers its not. Option 1 requires knowing your limits and accepting it, hence lifting the pressure. It's literally playing strictly with an amount you can freely lose. No regrets. Option number 2 usually drags your emotions into the fray which can be really dangerous for any gambler.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling - A Game of Luck or Strategy on: March 06, 2019, 03:54:10 PM
There is only luck. You can try strategies that can increase your chances, luck got to be on your side.

This is true that in majority of the games you need to have luck only and strategies generally do not work. Though in few strategies does work but if combined with luck you would end up on a very high chances of winning from that game. So play wisely.

Well consider the things outside of the actual game. Like the amount of money you'll put in. Or the amount of time you'll play. These are things that you can control and are also essential in any kind of gambling game. Having a strategy helps you be in control in most situations.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be a volatile investment tool and payment method at the same time? on: March 06, 2019, 03:51:30 PM
It will be hard to serve both, the volatility is not good as the payment, it will make the customers become confuse and the sellers also hard to determine the price, the volatility one of the reason why stores didn't want to adopt crypto payment, if the volatility swing is not too big then maybe the store owner could tolerate, but for now the swing is too big and too wild

Well i agree though probably there will be a transition when times comes that btc becomes more stable. Of course that's not going to happen now since at this stage, it's volatility serves investors better. We're not yet at that point.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: J.P. Morgan 2017 - 2019 on: March 06, 2019, 03:49:00 PM
I think there are many of my friends who say that what will be done by JP Morgan will only be the next shitcoin.

Chances are, it won't even make to grade to qualify as a shitcoin.  You can hold your own private keys for most shitcoins.  You can choose to mine them/stake them/whatever the issuance model is if you like.  You can usually view the source code.  But you probably won't be able to do any of those things with whatever it is J P Morgan are making.  It's unlikely to meet any definition of crypto "coin" you might recognise.

Yeah i agree but the tag of JPM has to count for something though especially for those people who aren't that well versed in the market yet. Ripple for me would still be better but if jp morgan puts in big money in their project, it may follow xrp's steps regardless of what long time crypto users think.
812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has changed? Is it moving forward? on: March 06, 2019, 03:45:50 PM
There is no problem about the speed of transaction or the confirmation period whenever you send bitcoin to anyone.

It depends on how much your fee does.
not enough to be asked to change but at least there are changes little by little and I think it's pretty good and some are moving forward and it's very good I think going forward in the world of crypto is currently stabilizing market prices
in my opinion what has changed in bitcoin today is not perfect and I have not said that it is progressing because there are many shortcomings that have not been stable at this time in my opinion
It's not perfect for the meanwhile but it keeps on upgrading.

What are the shortcomings that you think that aren't stable at these times?

Definitely there are improvements since the last 3 years. Segwit and LN will make btc transactions better and faster than it was before. Shortcomings are a given especially since btc is still only 10 years and there's a very long way to go. For starters though i think we're doing pretty well.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now you can buy Bitcoin from the grocery store on: March 06, 2019, 03:42:18 PM
It is good to see how we adopt the use of bitcoin where even the grocery store start to accept it because they already know it is a very valuable money. Here in my country I also see some store who accept bitcoin so if this kind of adoption keep on increasing maybe the price of bitcoin market will increase.

Large grocery stores will take longer to accept payments in  bitcoin without having it converted first. Though the fact that this gets raised quite often nowadays seem to indicate that adoption is indeed on it's way. Bitcoin as an alternative mode of payment will be a big boost in customer convenience.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trader Brutally Tortured on: March 06, 2019, 03:39:47 PM
A crypto trader from the Netherlands had been brutally tortured in front of his 4-year-old daughter, by 3 suspects disguised as police.  The investigator suspected that the criminals stole some private keys, passwords that transferred the victim's fund to the suspect's wallet. How could the criminal know his a trader and identity, location? Could this be an inside job?

More information here:
Quote

Probably an inside job. Or the person may have been bragging about his portfolio. Its a sad news especially since the crime was made in front of his children. I guess there's still a lesson to be picked up from this, that we should be extra careful about who we trust with important information. Hope the family gets justice.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Screwed Up on: March 06, 2019, 01:59:21 PM
I was trying to transfer my Bitcoin and for some reason my Bitcoin was sent to the wrong address, I just started to use bitcoin recently and now i'm suck on how to get my money back. The transaction ID is (0d2ab7e318058c36f10ad06c26b79ebde8ea532551f78d9150759e591a3a674e) and it was sent to this address (bc1qy4jleyqse9jka39296vzn6ykx7hk3mh63zpwvl) which I did not create nor facilitate which confuses me the most. Please help me if possible thanks.
You should be careful next time mate, do not just double check but triple check it before you send any crypto to peers. There's no way to recover recover your funds unless you know owner otherwise charge it to your experience. You should try scanning address than copy pasting it I think its better way of sending funds.

Right. There's been a lot of the same case all in the forums with people trying to find ways on how to recover btc sent to the wrong address. I guess this just shows how secure blockchain in because there's no way you can recover or retrieve your coins once the transction pushes through. A lesson for the future dude.
816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption: Don't just sit down, do something on: March 06, 2019, 01:54:23 PM
As of now we need to do the best to circulate the cryptocurrencies. Adoption keeps increasing when users get more access to use it as a currency. To me, the growth needs to start from the base. Every small scale business people who are cryptocurrency users need to accept bitcoin, which is the one that makes the community grow.
Exactly, we need to do our best to circulate carpets in the world. Crypto will need us to grow more in the future, promoting it in business will help so much! For example, by creating some online or even offline project which accepts crypto as an addition payment, we help crypto to gain more value and also we help the community to be more bigger by spreading our project news.

Well if it's within the crypto community then i don't think there'll be any problems with accepting and paying through btc. The challenge is how to make non users and non believers to do the same. With all the negative reports and news circulated from last year, bitcoin's image hasn't been pretty and people are reluctant. I guess the community should start to first try and be louder in making people understand that btc can be used.
817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN GLORIOUS DAYS MIGHT JUST BE HERE on: March 06, 2019, 01:49:25 PM
The possibilities are there to adopt bitcoin but I don't think it is going to play the role of fiat also but solely as cryptocurrency or digital currency. But my question is to the last part of where you alluded that the US dollar is collapsing or in the event of its collapse. Please, how did you arrive at that analysis and conclusion?
the possibility of a collapse of the US dollar is very unlikely, because the dollar is an international currency and all countries when trade between countries must use dollars, this makes the position of the dollar very strong. if the dollar collapses then all the business world will collapse. if crypto has the potential to replace the dollar, it is only an alternative payment.

I agree with that. I don't really understand why a lot of people here seem to be very sure of a dollar collapse when the backlash of that can potentially be catastrophic and may take a long time before the economy can recover. I don't think crypto by itself can save us from that.
818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The main reason for the bearish market today on: March 06, 2019, 01:27:09 PM
The natural thing when the market has experienced an increase will decrease, as we know that the crypto market fluctuates.
Keep your crypto, because we will go to the moon

We all know in trading ups and down are common the topic is why we are experiencing a long bearish market. Manipulation is happening everytime and I feel that's the reason behind this downfall. Yes hopefully we can go over the moon again.

Lol. Dudes. I think you shouldn't be thinking about the moon at least for bitcoin at this time. We're probably looking at the same movement for months or even until next year. The market feels lazy and i unattractive to new investors and unless something changes, this trend would probably be sustained.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin could be used to pay for Bills, load and for travel in the Philippines on: March 06, 2019, 01:24:46 PM
Here in the Philippines we could use our local wallet called coins.ph to buy load pay for our electric, water and credit card bills and even book for travel.

what a great service that is, every country should have their own like it
its big thing to be able to use bitcoins in any area of life easily

Well i think those simple functions can be done with crypto pretty much in most countries. Though of course it's still converted to the local currency probably by the btc wallet you're using. There are fewer companies who accept bitcoin as it is.
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New hate wave? on: March 06, 2019, 01:21:47 PM
Bitcoin (BTC) received another negative assessment from central banks, this time Benoit Kerere from the executive board of the European Central Bank (ECB), calling the original cryptocurrency “an evil offspring of the financial crisis,” reports the Financial Times. That can be found on the network recently. Bitcoin fell and fiat experts immediately started a new wave of hate, do you think bitcoin will recover soon?

That's funny, because with debt levels soaring among EU countries, and with the Brexit issue, many are questioning the viability of the European Central Bank and the euro. I think the ECB has bigger fish to fry than bitcoin, and I don't think bitcoin poses a risk to the euro in the near term. I think there could be a worry among central bankers as to whether it will become a significant competitor maybe five or 10 years out.

Yeah i agree. Unless they really believe these statements will shut btc down, i don't think they see it as that big of a threat yet. Though they probably know it will eventually. There will come a time when banks will stare face to face at a crypto revolution and big bankers are probably issuing these kind of statements to prepare for that time.
