after a long time upgradet and startet 3.4.1

Code:
./leonArdo-linux
[1]+  Aborted                 (core dumped) ./leonArdo-linux
Aborted (core dumped)

Does it crash directly after calling it? Have just tried moving/deleting the .leonardo folder?

All the best,

Jonathan,
I dont like this behaviour.

I have my bot set with 0% min effective gain and yet the buy order doesnt adjust with the statistics window.
Why is that?
I have to stop the bot and start it again for it to recalculate a new buy order??

You are missing tons of chart data? leonArdo needs a stable network to work correctly. I checked and data collection is up so you should either turn off and back on your network to trigger a re-download of trade databases or re-start leonArdo.

I don't know why the particular issue you are talking about happened? I'd need more info. Right now the bot is in a stopped state.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hi,how many  profit per day can we expect with this bot ? do  i have to change setting every day?

I can't say what you can expect every day. Some days will be better than others.

But I would certainly advise checking in at least once a day and tweaking things. It's a mix of bot and good decisions by you that will get the best results.

Will this software do trailing stop losses based on % ?

http://www.investopedia.com/articles/trading/08/trailing-stop-loss.asp

There is a trailing stop order for Bitfinex. But you can also use stop loss orders in our mArgin maker bot for all markets.

All the best,

Rene
Think it would be possible to add trailing stop losses for Bittrex and Poloniex ?
I can't live without trailing stop losses in stocks but seems to be non existent on the Exchanges that we are allowed to use in my state.

We will add stop loss and trailing stop loss as a general feature throughout leonArdo soon.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

LeonArdo *really* needs guide where all bot tips and what all those preferences does are in one page. Not many people wants to read thru 100 pages of forum posts. Could someone who knows how to use margin maker collect all this info to one page? Thanks!!

All parameters have tooltips explaining what they do. I would also suggest downloading the free demo version of leonArdo to try it out before spending money on it.

Here is a link: http://www.marginsoftware.de/product.html

There is also a setup tutorial video (just 2 minutes long) here: http://www.marginsoftware.de/tutorial.html

We can't give tips on what parameters to set as that constitutes are trading advice and we are legally not allowed to give any.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

I have 2 4k monitors, 1 is set to 100% scaling and the other is set to 150% both are unable to see or access the boxes. Literally every other part of the app is fully visible without issue just for some reason not the API boxes or in the demo mode, the balance boxes.

I tried playing with the font settings but also didn't seem to help :/

I also have a 4k monitor, the way I worked around it is by clicking on the first field (which looks like a line) and if you look closely, you will notice the cursor blinking Cheesy. So I just copy pasted the value and pressed TAB to go to the next field and paste the second value. It's probably a resolution thing but once you do this, you will never have to deal with it again as it saves automatically.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Hi,

Yes, using windows 10.
Thanks for the info!
The bug will be fixed with the next release which will come out very soon Smiley

Please be very careful not to accidentally download software from that website!

thanks for the trick and for helping out. We are having a look to make sure it is not needed in the future.

Thanks a lot again!

That is only an issue with the demo version. The paid version works without those issues.

That's not true. I've been using the paid version for a week now and it crashed once.
The support is really good and they help you out if you encounter any problem. It will remember all your pairs and keep your orders after the crash.

Tips for dealing with crash:

1. Make sure to "Save All Strategies" (right-click on a strategy) once you set them up so that if it crashes then it will restore your strategies, by default it won't!
2. Also the "Go for it" option is actually not good for when a crash happens because it will try and retry placing an order when the internet times out or crash is happening. So I disabled it for my bots.

My advice is to start with small amounts of money and keep experimenting for a week or so until you understand how it works and how to recover from a crash (if it happens).
Hope that helps. So far, I've made more profit than the cost of this software so I recommend it.

Thank you very much for getting back to me. I've really been testing this setting it up with the same BTC balance I actually have and it has given me 0.07 BTC in theoretical profit after a week. But the bug was a killer for me so I'm glad it doesn't crash as often on the paid version. Also, thank you for letting me know about the ability to save, I assumed it would just auto save.

Dev, there is a big error which makes me not be able to use the bot at all on the real exchange - https://i.imgur.com/f5TqnoG.png

As you can see the key / secret bars are too small to even use.

leonArdo does auto save the settings on close, but only on close so it there is a crash it doesn't work. Hence, with the bot crashes the settings wouldn't be saved. That's why we added a manual option.

As for the small fields? If you are using a 4K screen please make sure the UI Scaling factor is set to 1.

Apart from that you can re-set things by deleting the state.de file in the .leonArdo folder.

The .leonArdo is a hidden folder in your home directory.

If you are on Windows it's something like

C:\Users\JonathanMaycock\.leonArdo

On Mac OS X its

/Users/JonathanMaycock/.leonardo

And on Linux it's

/home/JonathanMaycock/.leonardo

(replacing my username for your own of course)

Another thing you can try if that doesn't work is to log into a demo market and change some of the GUI font settings. Click on the cog wheel button in the top right hand corner and try some out.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Hello,

Just wondering a couple things.. I've been using the bot in demo mode for about 2 weeks. But it keeps crashing every 24-36 hours.. it will recover once usually fine.. but the second time around it will completely delete all my strategies and everything making it extremely annoying and risky to use.

Do you have a plan to fix that? Also, is there a way to see profit generated combined of all trades?

The demo version has a particularly nasty bug which causes random crashes in leonArdo. We have fixed this and will push it out in the next few days.

The paid version doesn't have this issue. Overall it is quite stable, but the software is still in beta so it is not perfect yet.

As someone already said, right clicking the strategy button allows you to manually save all strategies that you have set up.

More advanced reporting of profit/loss is firmly on our todo list.

Thanks for your interest.

Very odd. I click the button and it reloads the page.... I tried it on OSX and also a windows machine.  Both with the same results..  I can try on my Ubuntu box at home when I get in later.

Thanks

Hi Jonathan

I've been trying to buy a copy of leonArdo this morning but I can't get past the 'Buy at a discount' button..  any ideas?

Hooli

Hi Hooli,

I just tried and it worked for me. Clicking the 'Buy at a discount' button gets me to the next page with asks for your mail and has a re-captcha.

For you it just hangs?

Heading to lunch right now, but will check in when I get back.

Best wishes,

I dont understand, choose bittrex and cant login until write the key and secret

You need to choose Bittrex - Demo account to try it in demo mode.

Thanks Amaralluis.

Yes, please scroll to the second half of markets offered and choose a demo market. That allows you to paper trade with leonArdo, try out its bots and indicators etc.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

I hope it's not bad etiquette to make these all separate posts, I thought it was better for readability since they are different topics.

What conditions will make the bot skip replacing orders? Is there some setting that might be preventing the bot from canceling the old order and placing another at the new price level?

Thanks Smiley

Look at the red light dotted line on the graph display. That is the sell margin that you set up on your strategy.

@Amaralluis , thanks for helping out. This is very much appreciated Smiley

  Rene

I'd still like some clarification on this. My bot was in a buy state, not sell state, and the candlesticks very clearly went out of the buy range since the order was placed. So I'm still missing something. https://imgur.com/IfdVh8s

Hi semirealdude,

Thanks for getting touch.

The reason your buy order isn't being updated is because it is constrained by the previous sell order that went through. To ensure the Min effective gain you specified the buy price cannot be set any higher and therefore the bot hasn't updated the order. Updating would simply place it back at the same price.

I hope that is clear.

Best wishes,
Jonathan

Leonardo team, I really appreciate the time you spend supporting your users, it is a huge added value in making me happy with my purchase. I have a couple moonshot ideas that might be overly complicated to implement and confusing to new users, but I still wanted to see what you thought  Roll Eyes

1. A bot that makes trades based on the depth chart, similar to the way mArgin maker uses the price chart. Currently, setting up mArgin maker with a short time window can approximate this strategy, but we would be able to get better trades if the bot could recognize buy walls and sell walls. So maybe the order book can just be used as an indicator, rather than engineering something totally new.

2. A way to disregard "outliers" when calculating the trading window.

For example, here we have an inordinately long wick causing mArgin maker to set the sell price higher than I would have expected when I originally set up the bot.

If we could ignore this single wick, the buy price would be right where I want it to be:

Of course, mArgin maker will adapt in a few hours when these wicks leave the time frame that the bot is using to analyze, but in that time we are exposed to additional risk. In the first screenshot, the price may drop and I could miss a sell. In the second screenshot, there may be missed trading opportunities, which is not as bad.

So how to define an outlier that should be excluded? Maybe a simple rule could be, "the top and bottom of the red area has to touch more than 1 candlestick feature." I would rather have this option than change the buy margin and sell margin, because I like those values most of the time, whereas this is more of an exception.

A more complicated way to look at it would be to recognize when part of the red area has only 1 candlestick feature:

Then the user can decide, if the crossed-out area is more than 10/20/30% of the red area, disregard the crossed-out area?

Cheers!

Hi,

Just to add to what Rene said.

With this one

I can definitely imagine a new volume based bot in a future release. Good point.

2. A way to disregard "outliers" when calculating the trading window.

Whereas with this I don't see us adding this feature to the mArgin maker bot. As we will have many bots in the future I think that overly complicating the mArgin maker bot is not something I's like to do. It's not that the idea is a bad, it's not, but it would add yet another parameter that would need to be set and which would definitely complicate understanding of the bot.

Thanks for your kind words!

Best wishes,
Jonathan
