821  Economy / Services / Re: template on: July 16, 2023, 08:58:47 PM
The name of the template is Lottolab

I don't know if this is the script that he is using, this is a sample script of lottolab from Codecanyon, there's a possibility that he is not the owner of the script we need confirmation from OP

That is right. The website is identical to the script demo from CodeCanyon. He didn't even bother to change the colors or the demo content, such as testimonials or blog articles.

822  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Verify if seed is working on: July 16, 2023, 04:47:26 PM
It seems you all agree that the addresses should be the same, but they are not. I created a new wallet with the same bit39 seed, this time using keepKey derivation path: m/44'/0'/0' but without using a keepkey. Result: the addresses are different.

As hosseinimr93 said, your derivation path must start with 84' for native SegWit (Bech32) addresses. Native SegWit addresses start with bc1q.

Try these derivation paths:
m/84'/0'/0'
or
m/84'/0'/0'/0'

By the way, did you happen to use any step-by-step guides or tutorials while setting up Electrum with your KeepKey hardware device? It can be useful to retrace all your steps to find out what exactly is happening (perhaps you used an additional passphrase, or you chose a different account on your KeepKey device ...)
823  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to the Forums, hello everyone! on: July 16, 2023, 12:00:58 PM
BitcoinTalk is undeniably an incredible platform; I cannot believe I didn't join sooner.  From now on, I'm excited to actively engage in discussions, contribute my thoughts, and continue learning.

Hey there! Welcome to the forum!

Your introductory post was really good, and it is not every day we see such a contribution from a newbie. It seems like you might have been involved in other forum communities in the past because you are already well-versed in the basics and rules of good conduct. Nice going!

You have already earned some merits, and that should serve as a great incentive for you to kick off with a strong start. Just a bit more engagement, and you will no longer be considered a newbie.  Wink

Unfortunately, the issue that lovesmayfamilis brought up isn't exactly ideal, to be honest. It looks like a bunch of your posts are generated by AI, so maybe you should give yourself a break on that front. I mean, it is probably okay to use AI tools to fix up your grammar and spelling mistakes, but it is not okay to use completely artificially generated content. That is a big no-no in our community. So, take it easy when it comes to using AI, alright?
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin leave to be decentralized on: July 16, 2023, 10:52:15 AM
Many people tried creating digital currencies in the past, kinda like centralized ones, but they all failed. But then came Bitcoin, with its blockchain as a public ledger and Proof-of-work verification process. The reason it is so popular today is that it is decentralized and nobody owns it or controls it. That is precisely why it survived and thrived while the others bit the dust.

So, the thing is: if Bitcoin ever loses its decentralized nature, it would basically be game over for it.
825  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Verify if seed is working on: July 16, 2023, 09:40:04 AM
what you would need to do is not import the seed or any private keys..
instead you would have to import the MASTER PUBLIC KEY not the sending transactions singular public key

dont follow the other peoples advice about importing private keys or seeds
~

But the thing is that he does not want to create a watch-only wallet, he wants to verify his backup seed. At least that is how I understood it...

~
The only other possibility mentioned in this thread is that I imported a wrong seed into the cold wallet. I checked twice and think highly unlikely, but tomorrow I may try again.

You seem to be unnecessarily complicating things too much. You do not need to make transactions to verify your seed phrase. All you have to do is "make" your wallet software to show you the same set of addresses as in the Electrum/KeepKey setup (which you seem to call a "hot" wallet).

You have to understand what derivation path means in hierarchical deterministic wallets. Basically, this means that you can generate many, many different wallets and key pairs from the same seed phrase. If I am not mistaken, Electrum and KeepKey are using different derivation paths - so you have effectively created 2 different wallets from the same seed phrase.

Now, I do not know exactly which derivation path KeepKey uses, you should consult the documentation or look for that information online, but when you want to recreate the same wallet in a new Electrum installation, it is important to tell it which derivation path to use.
826  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Verify if seed is working on: July 15, 2023, 10:26:55 PM
I am not sure, but this is what blockchain explorer writes about this transaction:

You say that you checked the transaction on the blockchain explorer, but in fact you checked the balance of the address. You need the TXID to find the transaction on the blockchain explorer. If your transaction was confirmed on the network, you should have its TXID.

Your seed phrase is all you need. If you import your seed phrase in a new wallet and select the correct script type and derivation path, you should see the same addresses.

No I did nothing about script type and derivation path.  So in the lack of these settings, is there no way the BTC arrives and the verification can work?

What do you mean by that? When you import your seed into a new wallet, it asks you which script type, i.e. which type of wallet you want. If you choose the wrong one, you will get a completely different set of addresses in your wallet.

But instead of testing with transactions, and potentially losing money, why not simply compare the addresses in your "hot" wallet and your "cold" wallet to see if they match?
827  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Inquiry on: July 15, 2023, 09:09:04 PM
Alrighty, since there are already a bunch of folks who have given their two cents on your initial question, I will just focus on this part:

~
In case if I want to revive coin ,does the wallet automatic select one of those labeled by received or the wallet generate new address?

That is right! When you go to the "receive" tab in the Electrum wallet, the software automatically selects the next available receiving address from the list in the "addresses" tab. This approach is for better privacy since it is recommended to use a new address for each transaction. However, feel free to choose any other address from the generated list in the Electrum wallet. All of those addresses are associated with your wallet (actually, that list represents only a portion, as you have an unlimited number of addresses at your disposal), and any coins received at any of those addresses will be added to the overall balance of your wallet.
828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to grow the bitcoin you have? on: July 15, 2023, 08:53:52 PM
Bitcoin is considered a form of money in the digital world. But let me tell you, finding an easy way to make money? I have been hunting for that magical formula too, but no luck so far. It seems like there is no shortcut to success, at least not that I have come across. If you find one, do let me know!  Cheesy

One suggestion I have is to consider starting a side hustle. Freelancing, tutoring, selling handmade crafts, offering consulting services, or any other income-generating activities that align with your skills and interests are some options to consider. With a side hustle you can supplement your primary income and further increase your bitcoin investment.
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 15, 2023, 08:11:29 PM
Do you agree that the advice to only gamble with "money you can afford to lose" sounds a little pretentious? It's not like money just appears out of thin air (unless you happen to be Mr. Bezos or Mr. Musk, of course).

But let's not waste time with empty rhetoric. The harsh reality is that every dollar you gamble away is a dollar you could have spent on a cheeseburger, put towards a bill, or put away for a rainy day. Sounds like a see-saw to me. When one end is raised, the other must be brought crashing down.

However, I don't put my life savings or my lunch money on the line when I play the slots or roll the dice. It's a tiny bit that I chiselled out for this express reason. Sure, I could buy a lot of cheeseburgers with it, but I'm saving it for the moments of the casino instead.

Where do you see empty rhetoric? You just said yourself that you don't gamble with your life savings or your lunch money, but you set aside a little money that you don't need for your everyday expenses or other more important things. This precisely aligns with the definition of "money you can afford to lose." There is no rhetoric here.
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 15, 2023, 04:26:58 PM
Literally no one has money that they can afford to lose.
~

Nah, I gotta disagree. The money I allocate for gambling is essentially my entertainment budget. Whether I decide to spend it on gambling or any other form of amusement makes no difference. But let me clarify something. Just because I am okay with the possibility of losing that money, it does not mean I actually want to lose it. The thing is, gambling is enjoyable largely because of the thrill and excitement that comes with winning.
831  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is the kidney of cryptocurrency on: July 15, 2023, 03:14:38 PM
The big question is can you live without kidney?
~

Yes, you can! It is possible to live with only one functioning kidney.
https://www.kidney.org/atoz/content/onekidney

But I do not see the point of your analogy. It is true that Bitcoin is one of the most well-known and widely used cryptocurrencies, but comparing it to a kidney seems a bit far-fetched. You could argue that Bitcoin's role in the cryptocurrency world is comparable to a vital organ in the human body, however, the cryptocurrency space is diverse and constantly evolving. So while Bitcoin will probably always have a special place, that does not mean it is the only crucial element in the cryptocurrency world.
832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is sending bitcoin through a QR-code safe ? on: July 14, 2023, 10:04:25 PM
~
all you have to do is ask the receiver to send you the QR code, and you can scan it from wherever you are.

I think that is exactly what he was implying. If the recipient sends the QR code remotely, for example via email or chat messages, then there is a risk that a potential attacker can intercept that communication and modify the QR code. Paying with a QR code is only safe if you are sure of the authenticity and integrity of the QR code you are scanning.
833  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in 10000 roll script on: July 14, 2023, 09:23:50 PM
Hi
I just understand how can I get 10000 roll because I played for 6 months but I never got 10000 role yet

The probability of rolling a 10,000 is apparently 1 in 10,000. Considering that you can only play a free roll once every hour, simple math suggests that it takes more than 416 days on average to get a 10,000 roll (assuming continuous play, 24 hours a day, which is practically impossible). However, this is an average estimation, as the outcome is ultimately dependent on luck due to the random nature of the game. This means that you may go for many years without winning even once, while someone else might be fortunate enough to win multiple times within a year.

There is no script to help with this. Also, the use of any script for this purpose is prohibited on the freebitco.in site.
834  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitcoins asking to verify account on: July 14, 2023, 09:04:18 PM
The sender's address in an email message can be spoofed. Email spoofing is possible because the SMTP protocol used for sending emails does not have built-in mechanisms to verify the authenticity of the sender's address. When an email is sent, the sender can freely specify the "From" field in the email header, which means they can input any email address they want, including addresses that do not belong to them. Even with a careful analysis of the raw email header, it is still possible for skilled attackers to obfuscate their tracks and make the email appear legitimate.

OP, you should carefully check the URL addresses that the buttons in the email message are trying to take you to before clicking on them. If something appears suspicious, refrain from clicking. It is better to use a legitimate URL to log into the service and check if you have any resources there that would be worth the effort.

Why would anyone offer their computing units if they get zero rewards in return?

Did you forget about transaction fees? Since the mining reward in the form of new coins is halved every four years, transaction fees will become an increasingly important factor for bitcoin miners in the future. If I am not mistaken, even today the total transaction fee per individual block is higher than the block reward itself.
836  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixin Safe (Decentralized Multisig + MPC + Timelock solution) review preperation on: July 14, 2023, 08:13:59 PM
100 participants for a review campaign? I think this will be the biggest review campaign on the forum as far as I know.

I hope that the reviewers will have the opportunity to test the service without paying a subscription, because I see that the price of the service starts at $100 per year. But, I will wait to see the exact conditions of the campaign.
837  Other / Meta / Re: Self-moderated topics - nice feature or should it get banned? on: July 13, 2023, 07:54:23 PM
I have nothing against self-moderated topics on the forum, as long as the topic is clearly marked as such, and the rules of conduct are clearly stated. Self-moderated topics can significantly improve forum moderation and the fight against spammers. For example, when we report a post as off-topic spam, I imagine that the moderators have to spend a good amount of time deciding whether the report is justified and whether they should delete such a post. Self-moderated topics solve this problem, because in this case the decision rests with the creator of the topic.
838  Other / Meta / Re: [BAN APPEAL] UID: 1047338 / 2221175 on: July 13, 2023, 07:29:22 PM
~
WHY HEDGEFX SHOULD NOT BE BANNED Simply because HedgeFx registered his account and started posting on the forum long before P2Pfinder was banned. No intention to evade or circumvent the rules has been placed in the behavior of Hedgefx. If HedgeFx had wanted to evade the ban or break the rules, it would have been enough to choose another name instead of Hegdefx.

I do not think it matters in your case. If one of your accounts is banned, then all the others are automatically considered ban evaders—regardless of when they were created or which account was registered first. If your account has been banned due to plagiarism, I highly doubt that there will be any possibility of having your ban lifted.
839  Other / Archival / Re: MIXGURU: The Most Effective tumbling service! on: July 12, 2023, 10:13:12 PM
I noticed that you use some third-party scripts and Google fonts on your site. From my perspective, I have concerns about the implications of such choices for a service that prioritizes user anonymity.
This is even secondary because it is only people that understands privacy who knows what google does behind the scene.
~

These things might seem secondary to the average user, but they should be privacy experts. They are running a crypto mixer, which should imply a higher level of online privacy awareness than the average person.

If they lack an understanding of privacy and are unaware of what Google does behind the scenes, then it would be unwise for anyone to use their crypto mixer services.

The primary things as link to the whitepaper and functionality of what they listed like Tether mixing is not functional.
They claimed to have spent 2yrs on the project but the project appears to be the one done hastily. And also their domain age does not support their claim.

Indeed, there are numerous red flags, particularly when the OP attempts to delete or conceal evidence of the topic instead of addressing people's concerns and inquiries. Such behavior raises further doubts and undermines trust in his intentions.
840  Other / Meta / Re: Addition of more forum boards/sections and modifications. Any need currently? on: July 12, 2023, 08:54:56 PM
Adding a "Cybersecurity and Privacy" board to the forum sounds like a good idea! We could have discussions about the latest threats, exchange helpful tips and resources, and ask questions to learn from one another. I cannot think of any downsides to this proposal.
