845  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: PIZZA ACCOUNT HACKED BEWARE SCAM on: July 02, 2013, 04:15:12 PM
Simply signing a message with a known Bitcoin address you used should be more than enough evidence.

This. Everything else can be faked if you were the hacker in this case. It's basically pizza's word against yours at this point that you're hacked or anything.
on: July 02, 2013, 03:58:13 PM
又鉴别出一个骗子 QQ 号码: 暗示  zhangh550@126.com(1833897354)

Confirm
848  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin Bling Bet on: July 02, 2013, 02:18:03 PM
Would you guys like a third party escrow for this? Send the 1 BTC to a cold wallet made just for this bet. Each one sends 1 BTC, so the cold wallet will contain 2 BTC. Winner gets the private key or the amount is sent to his own wallet in 4 years.

There is of course John K. However, I was hoping I'd get the job. Smiley

Nah, I don't think that jim618 needs an escrow here, especially considering the amounts involved.  Wink
People trust him for Multibit on a daily basis.

Mati means dead in Indonesian. Tongue

That said, this is an interesting bet - bookmarked for 2017!

芯片不是已经out of stock了吗?

853  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best VPN's using Bitcoin? on: July 01, 2013, 05:04:56 PM
I use AIrVPN for *all of my home Internet traffic and have been happy with speeds and latencies so far. They don't have an automatic way to set up multiple device access, but apparently if you contact them they'll set you up manually with a plan.

* except for encrypted and anonymized traffic like Tor, I2P, and Freenet. There's no point routing those through the VPN.

Any example speeds and ping? Smiley I'm leaning towards AirVPN currently especially considering their status page here: https://airvpn.org/status/

Yea, I was wondering because I used to be a Senior Member but suddenly I am a Full Member. That makes sense. A lot of people have just "+1" posts, so this is a good thing.

I posted "+1" in response to this, but some humorless individual deleted it.

Moderator: If you look a the context, the minimalist post was not off-topic.

+1 posts are deleted by default here.
Be default you mean by the moderator, right?
Or does bitcointalk has a automatic system to delete +1 posts?

Yep. We delete them whenever we stumble across such posts : (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=236572.msg2500824#msg2500824)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Now I have even more to choose - not sure if that's a good thing or not. Tongue

Any PRISM proof VPN's? I don't have anything to hide but I would prefer nobody's watching over me...

I've been using torguard.net for a few months now, very affordable and reliable.

It's a US based company and also check their TOS
https://torguard.net/terms.php

Where did you get that information?

And what about the TOS?

Ouch:

You give the information you want, if you say that your name is Jack Sparrow from the Caribbean, that's the information they have to give.

You can read reviews about this service at TorrentFreak, here's the latest:

http://torrentfreak.com/vpn-services-that-take-your-anonymity-seriously-2013-edition-130302/

It was also discussed at Pirate Bay Forum...

They are specialize in protecting people who shares files over the Internet, it is legal in my country, but it is a crime in many countries arround the world, if they don't protect their users identity, they are not gonna make it in this business.  Smiley

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Is the speed for torguard good? What's the countries where they have servers?
856  Other / Meta / Re: franky1 / tortious interference on: July 01, 2013, 04:38:00 PM
It's amazing how many proponents of free speech immediately start hating it when they actually get it, being for free speech means that you accept the fact that people will say things you don't like as well as say things you agree with, of course that doesn't necessarily mean you have to listen to it either, it's when you try to silence the other person from speaking publicly that it gets pretty pathetic.

This. We pride ourselves to delete the least possible conversation/speech here unless it's too distracting and/or pointless. Examples include '+1', 'yeah', etc. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=236572.msg2500824#msg2500824)

So this forum now has paid moderators, no longer distributes scammer tags, and lets wealthy investors troll with impunity?  No moderator can find the time to comment here?

Something is rotten.

If anything, the fact that mods getting paid would give the mods an incentive to remove his posts for the sake of racking up activity. I'm not aware of the situation that letting him post questions, albeit harsh and straight, has to do with his wealth at all. For all it's concerned, we would not give a damn between a billionaire trolling or a pauper trolling.

Banned.

Oops, double banned him. I've edited his addresses in the thread back to normal though, so if this is resolved already please unban him again. ;P
Thanks John K.
Also I working with Theymos to resolve the issue.
We seem to have found how the hacker got in the second time and Theymos is pushing in a fix now.

PM me your address so I can tip you.
Nah, never mind the tip especially when I helped next to nothing. Smiley Great to see this sorted out, hopefully this is not a major compromise on the forum system here.
Nah Its not something big, But but the hacker spilled the beans. So theymos is now working on it so others are protected in future. I think Theymos will post here once done.

@John Once the issue is solved please move this thread to the Archive section. Smiley
Also after Theymos comfirms here I will remove all the negative ratings the hacker sent and send a PM to them so they can remove theirs.

No problems, just drop me a PM when you want this moved.

Me so envious...

Meh, I had it for 3-4 days tops only. Sad to see it go so fast. T_T

I sold my Ztex 1.15y's for approx ~6 BTC last time. Each is capable of doing over 880 MH/s. I still have one for fun. Cheesy
I sold the B1 Avalon for 250~ BTC last time though. Bought the preorder off somebody earlier for 110~ BTC last time. I guess Avalon's are getting resold again and again pretty quick.

Holy hashes.
250 BTC about MYR 100K now. @MYR400 each.

I was early to the BTC scene I guess. The amounts I hold is still puny compared to what others have though...
