Hey Bros, i'm in a hurry, so here's that promised photo from NGC7000 (North America Nebula). Seond try, because my lens fogged in the humid air of the night.
Details: 200mm lens on a H-Alpha modified DSLR, 100x25 sec frames for the stars, 20x60 sec frames for the nebula.

 Shocked
Thanks a ton for the sMerit shower  Cool

I was out last night to take another one, from a different region of the milky way, more zoomed out than the one i posted yesterday.
There were some thin clouds in the first half and distant lightnings illuminating (light-polluting) the sky in the second half of the session, but since i captured more than 4 hours worth of light data, it would be a waste to just move the files to the recycle bin (aka. /dev/null) before even trying to get a nice astrophoto out of them.
A dedicated astro camera plus filters would be delivering much finer resolutions, but i'll have to rip out my laser eyes ($100k, sure y'all remember) to be ready to spend so much money on a little piece of electronics in a housing as big as half a pepsi can.
Gonna take some time to regain lost sleep and backread the WO, right after grandmother-in-law's funeral has gone by this evening.
So much to do, so little time  Roll Eyes

Good day!
And behave, will you, ChartBuddy?!  Angry

Please always grab archives before publicly calling plagiarism.  Another post is plagiarized from the same Facebook page, but seems to have disappeared already from the Wall Observer (?).  See report thread for details and for archival snapshot of Ramiza’s post history.

Thanks for info, i was totally unaware of the reporting thread  Embarrassed
The ittle blue flower got me suspicious, so i googled one sentence (inside double quotes) and it returned the one result pointing to referenced FB page. Since i have no FB account, i could not scroll to/find the post with the actual quote in it. Google could find it, so it was a clear case for me.

The bear market is not over yet IMO, but is there a reason to panic? Nah, we are here to party everytime the price drop because this kind of opportunity does not come on a daily basis, believe me, when the bull run comes, these weak hands would say that " I wish I bought a lot when the price dump".

Where's the spirit of "HODL" now?

Me, I'll hold even if bitcoin will tur $1k

Is this another crypto winter? Is it a crash? Most analysts say that what crypto investors are witnessing isn’t a crash, but a correction. Even if this is a crash, now is not the time to panic.

Stockhead lists a few handy lessons from experts on how to ride this out ❄️

You can't make this shit up...

BIS General Manager Agustin Carstens opined: “You just cannot defy gravity … At some point, you really have to face the music.”

All jokes aside... I have a feeling they are in the middle of executing a plan to try to kill BTC.  It will be fun to see them lose.

Sure you can defy gravity. Has he never been on a plane before?

We need to start making a list of people who should be ridiculed in the future for criticizing Bitcoin with half-baked knowledge.

How many seats/rows does he have to book on a plane?
Does he fit through the door(s)?

May be relevant...

King Daddy may set up for a squeeze?

Actually, i could be right (this time).

Now, i have to leave. Wife needs some support, because her grandma died last night in hospital. No big loss, as she was a salty, toxic narcissist bitch. THe world (and herself) is better off without her, but all the sad atmosphere, created by many calling relatives over the day, made her fucking tired. OOM to the rescue  Cool

Have a good night.

Listen bitch, explaining something in a few words as possible , distilling the message down, to its purest form is indeed a skill which walks hand in hand with understanding of the subject matter.

Does that somehow render longer form media as useless ? of course not.

They are two different things.

My point was, that JJ often, cannot distil his gibberish down into a succinct format, and that is somewhat to do with his love of his own ranting, but also, because he struggles to condense information down into a agreeable format, and thus he loses much of his audience through exhaustion or confusion.... or irritation, and no that is not because people have short attention spans, it is because rambling bullshit using 5000 words where 50 would have done, is fucking annoying, and shows a lack of understanding, and respect,  of the subject matter, and the audience.

Comparing Nietzsche to JJ , is fucking retarded.

That is very well said. Short and Understandable like it is talked about in the very post.

Nah.
Let's assume i'm an expert in growing weed.
Boiling it down, i'd tell somebody: "You give the plant a controlled environment to deliver the best result when consumed".
The thing is, any IDIOT can say that. Now where's the connection to knowing the matter in and out?
Right - there is none.
You can't conclude from A to B in that case.
Knowing the matter would make somebody able to explain in the very finest of detail AND also cut it short. Both of it.
So Einstein's statement has a hidden context, which is known to him, but not to the reader.

869  Economy / Speculation / Re: Death Wish Observer DW/JJG - Death Wish activity tracking & discussion on: June 23, 2022, 06:32:30 PM
I have often had the thought that he [JayJuanGee] would make his point(s) far more effectively , by making his posts more succinct.

"if you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough"

The men who invented libraries, and who have spent millennia filling them with books?  Morons.

The authors of scholarly journals never understand anything well enough:  That is why they write so very much, as they seek to improve their understanding of the universe.  They yearn as Faust, but the devil offers them no easy answers.

The true measure of knowledge is to know enough to know how little one knows.  I myself find my grossest ignorance in my greatest expertise.

The wise man knows that his ignorance is infinite, and the sum of all human knowledge is negligible:  He stands on a mountaintop, gazing at stars and galaxies.  An insect is unaware of the existence of mountains.

Jack Dorsey had the answer:  Break all thought and discourse down into bite-sized pieces, which can be consumed without any need for non-negligible attention span—without need for thought.  Reading becomes like munching on potato chips.  It surely improves the quality of discussion:  Observe “Crypto Twitter”.

Nietzsche wrote aphoristically, when bodily health problems inhibited him from writing long-form essays.  He wrote nothing simply:  His most succinct statements compressed libraries hidden therewithin.  Decompression is difficult—cryptanalysis:  Not simple, and not for simpletons.  He would have despised Twitter.

Explaining something in a simple way makes the recipient only have a rough idea of what's going on. A representation of what is.
To understand, one needs to swallow the whole burger. And then there's the next step: Using this knowledge, combining with already established knowledge and finding implicit "data" while doing so.

I hope that was easy enough for people like empowering to "understand" (or get the idea).

If i didn't get some irony, sorry for that  Cheesy

That is some real BS. The "wise" don't choose. They accept.

It's good to see that some peeps are entering WO having fun times, especially when the bears are back in town...
871  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 23, 2022, 06:11:11 PM
Some calculations based on the prolific posting habits of JayJuanGee

Based on the profile of JJG he has made 25 491 posts to date at the time of this post.
With an estimated average word count of 400 words per post:
25 491 * 400 =  10 196 400 total words posted

Assuming an average typing speed of 40 words per minute:
10 196 400 / 40 =  254 910 minutes spend typing posts (Excludes time spent formatting posts and reading replies)
or 254 910 / 60 =  4 248.50 hours
or 4 248.50 / 24 = 177.02 days

JJG started posting on bitcointalk on 18 February 2014, or 3 047 days ago.
254 910 minutes / 3047 days = 83.66 minutes per day on average spent typing posts

A typical book has 300 words per page: The Bitcointalk book of JJG would be a monster at 10 196 400/400 = 25 491 pages long or 2.55 meters thick from front cover to back.

This is the definition of POW.

So by 2030 we will bet on "when JJG word count parity?" price predictions?
Very nice!  Smiley Cool

"if you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough"

The misunderstanding here is that "simple" sometimes is "as simple as possible", which can be relatively complicated.
I'd rather say: "Simple minds need simple explanations".
872  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 22, 2022, 06:07:15 PM
Who keeps deleting WO posts?  Things are jumping around—again and again.  At this rate, WO’s page-count will soon dip below the Bitcoin price without any recovery in the latter.

Well, I'd venture to guess we could have page parity in one easy step.
....Just delete all your blah blah blah posts.... Win, win....

Indeed, that sounds like a good plan. Imagine having 2 JJG's on one single thread. Surely WO can't handle this much stress test.

I sense sarcasm, and i am fairly good at using, but bad at recognizing it.
Whatever, have my two cents:

I'd rather have to read or scroll through discussions between three JJG's than the nonsense that permabears, beggars, attention whores and toxic morons leave in this thread.
It's easy and quick to check a JJG-sized post for interesting information and scroll through it if not satisfied, while it's a nightmare to scroll through many one-liners of nonsense or brainless rants, even if they show in the form of "This User is on your ignore list" maskings. I respect JJG and death_wish for being serious about their opinions, and i share their (obvious) favor for detail. That's much better than those testosterone-laden posting catfights.

Don't you agree?

EDIT: I don't use ignore lists for a reason. Freedom of speech.

I don't like my TA now, honestly.

Seems like in times of high fear/uncertainty short term support and resistance levels are closely together and if there's no major breakout to the upside for the time of two weeks or more, a bigger drop is on the menu. Looks like traders trying to suck out small amounts of fiat gains on the back of accumulating hodlers. Good for the hodlers, though.
At some point market confidence has to reverse, to build big green, institutional dildos and keep shorters from klicking the red buttons to get away with some fiat ahead of the next dip.
First, this thought was SOMA, but it seems to match price action pretty well, in retrospection.

OOM, your lectures on “ethics” are presumptuous.  Thanks duly for your well-wishes, but I am not subject to your judgment.  You are prating with sanctimonious drivel to someone who has repeatedly lost or rejected financial opportunities by being too principled.  My whole life, I have been like that.  Recently, in the past few years, I have been slowly trying to change:  To become a “ruthless mercenary capitalist”, as I called it in a recent post here.  For it is awful to lack for money—you do not know how bad it is, unless you have personally experienced severe poverty and privation.  Hunger is the best teacher of selfishness.  Now, I want to get rich!  With no shame and no apologies, I have been trying bit by bit to embrace rational self-interest.  Finally.  Alas, in this most recent episode, I have been spectacularly untalented at exercising my newfound greed.

...

I already understood.
My opinions aren't lectures nor judgements. You are just doing hard to not trying to read between (my) lines (what isn't there).

How to make an instant Nully post in 3 easy steps…

1. Type “blah” in Notepad.(no quotes)
2. Copy to clipboard.
3. Hold down the “control” and “v” keys for like 5 minutes.
Voila….

Too funny to go unnoticed  Cheesy
No offense, death_wish, btw.

You replied to OOM, who replied to me and who was discussing me.  I quoted a portion of your post that was relevant to my point; I thought it was well-said, and I sent it a merit.  Your quote is snipped in such a way that makes it seem that I was arguing with you.

My bad if I misread your intention.

Its not hard for me as a man to admit if I was wrong. Wink

That's one characteristic of real men, imo.

If bugs were giant, like 2+ meters tall. Would we still be squeamish about eating them? Or would we hold them like farm animals?

shut up... fc ukp

Your question is politically incorrect. & not only politically.

Be green, SAVE THE PLANET

Who the fuck are you?  Ignored.

Quick philosophical question:
On a freedom-of-speech internet forum, can a thing like "political incorrectness" even exist?
(I'd say NO)

If insects were 2+ meters tall, we'd have to worry about them eating us.

Exactly my thoughts on this...

Bugs that are the size of a Fingernail today would be the size of your Palm or even bigger in the Cretaceous era..

Finally, a useful comment.

You're not the only Hi-Q on WO for sure, but the only one bragging. Hi-Q, as some of us here are gifted with, needs according ethics to meet the social responsability which comes with it. Don't you agree?

Have you read the post that you quoted? Roll Eyes

Save your lecture for ImThour.  He is asking for this:  His forum account personal text absurdly insults the IQ of anyone who sees TA for what it is.  He is textbook Dunning-Kruger, plus remarkably rude.  I am just rubbing it in his face that someone smart says he’s full of nonsense.  Turnabout is fair play.

I disagree with your opinion of ethics and social responsibility.  However, I think that bragging about one’s IQ is gauche—and it reveals that there is not much to brag about.  By analogy, from the perspective of those who are >= 4 S.D. above mean, those who habitually brag about being in MENSA (>= ~2 S.D.) are like parvenus:  They boast of their millions in the presence of billionaires.

Billionaires don’t show off being rich—except sometimes to swat down an uppity millionaire, or perhaps in this case a wannabe-millionaire.

Yeah.
You're not bragging directly, but "inverse" (repeatedly pointing at "low-IQ's"), as you used to do as your old avatar.
Following your example, like some richies constantly pointing at "low-earners" or "the poor".
Now you should know what i meant.

However, i respect any form of intelligence, but higher figures go along with responsibility, especially regarding humans, IMHO.

EDIT: Gotta run, tryin to catch some shots of the (famous) "north america nebula", as the cloudy sky seems to be clearing up RN.
