861  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New way of scam, be aware on: June 27, 2019, 10:41:55 PM
A simple whois search indeed reveals a lot about how legitimate a site is given most of the scam sites out there are only very recently made, and Telegram as a whole is a pretty popular platform at the moment for scammers to target. Being more careful about talking to people on there and having some common sense usually helps you to avoid common scams. Most scams are very obvious and clear to see and involve the various scenarios already mentioned above.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RATING of TOP 20 BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS on: June 27, 2019, 10:38:53 PM
Interesting. I viewed the cons for just one sportsbook and compared it to another, and though both sites lacked the same feature the con was only listed for one site and not on the other.

Seconding Avirune's comment as well. There are very few review sites out now that actively deal with the changing state of reputability among casinos, and doing so would put you above the other sites.

Also, I assume the Global Rank of the sites is the corresponding Alexa rating for the sites?
863  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: free / low cost exchange on: June 27, 2019, 02:58:09 PM
Digitex will launch somewhat soon and they advertise offering zero fees as well was leverage up to 100x with the margin trading on their platform. Not sure personally about how legit the exchange might be, and the waitlist for the exchange is relatively long as of right now AFAIK, but it might be worth checking out.
864  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Waiting for new signature campaign! on: June 27, 2019, 02:50:11 PM
There are a lot of Jr. Members on this forum which makes it more difficult for you to enter a campaign accepting members of your rank. You'll find more opportunities in signature campaigns as a Full Member or a Senior Member as a large amount of signature campaigns do not accept lower ranked members anyways. Ranking up and trying to improve your post quality will help your chances of joining a viable signature campaign as well, though it is indeed true there are less campaigns in the Services section than in the past and the bar is much higher than it used to be for acceptance nowadays.
865  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you refrain from making these 4 big mistakes in trding? on: June 27, 2019, 09:15:22 AM
Keeping a journal of all the trades you make and other miscellaneous details like what you did before, during and after the trades you make is something I see very few people do nowadays. It's important to be able to review what you do well and not so well in a trade so you have a clear idea of what you can improve on, because not everybody is good at the same things. The things listed here are pretty general, but you can get a more specific idea of the mistakes you're making by self analysis.
866  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Analyst Says Bitcoin (BTC) Price Could Hit $100,000 During Next Bull Run on: June 27, 2019, 09:01:59 AM
$100K is completely possible in my eyes, though obviously we aren't going straight up to it, and keep in mind there will be numerous shakeouts for overleveraged margin longs along the way. It's always difficult to predict tops and bottoms for crypto, though, and I doubt it'll be any easier this time to predict when this bullish trend stops and the next macro bearish trend starts. Exciting times are ahead, whatever happens. Smiley
867  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to invest my $1300 USD? on: June 27, 2019, 08:56:57 AM
You could try to put some of that money you get from Eth  in a very low leverage Bitcoin long and check back later. This way you get a bit more profit than just buying and holding, and your liquidation price should be reasonably low such that it doesn't easily get hit. Your choice in the end though, I've always been big about Bitcoin and everybody has a different opinion.
868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to achieve success in trading? on: June 27, 2019, 08:51:03 AM
I almost never trade without stops nowadays, even if I'm sitting at my trading setup for longer periods of time. Unexpected things happen all the time and you might not catch everything that happens all of the time, so a stoploss (preferably a market stop) helps minimize the damage that a mistake of yours might make.

If you aren't in a good mood it may also be a good idea to temporarily stop trading until things get better. Revenge trading can empty your account quickly, and your judgement might not be as good when you're in a bad mood either.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you watch the matches you're gambling on on: June 27, 2019, 08:43:32 AM
I find it pretty pointless to gamble on a match and not watch the actual match happen live. Watching the match play out helps me with my analysis in the future, and the back and forth action for the duration of a good match is extremely fun to watch as well, especially when money is on the line. I used to only watch a few of the matches I bet on in the past, but a while back I started watching all of them and I've started enjoying match betting more.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A new kind of scam in telegram using gambling site on: June 27, 2019, 08:35:17 AM
Half the links in posts here to social platforms like Telegram or Facebook involve scams and I almost never click any such links anymore. Most scams are also extremely obvious if you use your common sense and proceed carefully with whoever you are talking to.

You should also ideally only invest in the bankroll of more reputable casinos; you might get better returns investing on a newer site, but the risk is too great for the potential reward.
871  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The BTC prices are being manipulated, what do the market makers have in mind? on: June 27, 2019, 05:39:29 AM
Too many people nowadays use manipulation as a way to explain their own bad trading performance, but the truth is that really doesn't matter much in the end you shouldn't worry about any manipulation too much at all.

Things will continue to happen as they have, and overleveraged traders will continue to get shaken out and liquidated. As for altcoins, they'll start to rise soon. ETH has already broken over $300 and is continuing up.
872  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Widget desktop with Ticker Bitcoin always on top window? What you recommend? on: June 27, 2019, 05:34:31 AM
I've always used Bitcoinwisdom.io for prices at a quick glance as well, cryptowat.ch may also work for tab price viewing though I don't like the platform as much as I like Bitcoinwisdom.

Also make sure you're using the .io Bitcoinwisdom now and not the .com site. The latter broke after not being updated for a while and hasn't been fixed for a few months now, though the .com site is the original.
873  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where and how to invest DIRECTLY with Bitcoin? on: June 26, 2019, 09:45:25 AM
Investing in gambling sites can also be risky if the site offers leverage on your investment, as this amplifies not only your profits but also your potential losses. Also good to keep in mind that even though house edge guarantees a long-term gain for the house, people can still win in the short term and that could potentially mean a loss on your investment. Still a decent investment option though, and there were a few threads in the Gambling section discussing this a few weeks back AFAIK.
874  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins.com -- Update on Cash Trades, Verification 25/6/19 on: June 26, 2019, 09:37:34 AM
I wonder if LocalBitcoins is going to start going after those cash offers listed as ATM deposits soon, or if they'll just leave those offers alone. I find it more likely they'll take action against those sorts of trades than not personally, but glad to see there's still some people trying to offer cash trades out there.

It's obviously a violation of their terms. If it becomes really prevalent, they'll start suspending or terminating the accounts of these users. Hopefully not though -- I'm all for workarounds like this.

Inevitably though, we need to move beyond Localbitcoins for P2P trading. They got too big and regulators are breathing down their neck. It's only going to get worse, not better.
Paxful is still allowing users to do a variety of cash trades at the moment AFAIK, though I don't know how long this option is going to be up until it too becomes removed from the platform. The decentralized exchange Bisq also allows deposits through cash using different vendors, but there's not as many vendors accepting cash payments on there. Hopefully more and more people move to alternatives like DEXes in the future and improvements are made to those DEXes so they're more accessible.
875  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Prominerz on: June 26, 2019, 06:44:55 AM
A lot of sites that Asicminervalue used to list as 'tested' in the past weren't actually legit and several of them were pretty scammy sites too. Best way you can buy miners is from the distributor directly, and the next best is from a bigger and more reputable reseller such as on a site like eBay (as eBay has good buyer protection).
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Comments on deposit bonuses on: June 25, 2019, 04:40:24 PM
The requirements for withdrawal shouldn't be exceptionally high or else it'll be nearly impossible to legitimately withdraw anything you might earn with bonuses, but at the same time making them low does mean people can abuse the system as others have said here. There's really no easy solution to this problem, and as a result I really don't take advantage of deposit bonuses very often as I find it is usually very hard to withdraw any funds you get with the bonuses. If you're ever unsure of what the minimum requirements for withdrawal are, reading the terms of service or terms for the promotion should show you that.

878  Economy / Exchanges / Re: coinbase pro question on: June 24, 2019, 05:20:09 PM
It is better to choose some the exchange. Coinbase is not secure enough but it is a good way to start.
I will listen what users say as well.
How would you define 'secure'? Coinbase Pro is a pretty decent fiat exchange in my experience, there's plenty of volume in the exchange and everything works just fine on the site (and there's plenty of security options for your own account). More advanced than simply using plain Coinbase, and good enough for more experienced traders too.

If you want to deposit and trade with Bitcoin on leverage, BitMEX could be a decent option as well- the site has never been hacked before, and things seem to be pretty secure considering they only do one batch of withdrawals daily (and you get plenty of security options as well), but that could obviously change quickly too.
879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why casinos want you to stay long in their area on: June 24, 2019, 05:07:02 PM
Pretty big reason why I don't ever go to real-life casinos at all; the entire space just feels pretty closed as a whole and I'd rather just play similar games from the comfort of my own home or wherever I'm travelling. I have gone a few times with friends but never really on my own, and every time I left pretty quickly despite it being a great experience to go with people that I really knew for a long time. The free things and perks are nice, but I don't ever see them as being enough to actually convince me to stay for an extended period of time.
880  Economy / Speculation / Re: Network fees as market indicator on: June 24, 2019, 05:02:48 PM
Hopefully we will continue to have low fees even if the price of Bitcoin continues to go up to near ATH levels and potentially beyond; things are much smoother than they were near the previous ATH where fees were incredibly high.

However, I still don't see fees being a good market indicator. Lightning is also not very widely adopted at the moment AFAIK. I've seen a few services accepting payments through LN like Bitrefill, but most places still don't accept LN payments. Hopefully this changes in the future.
