8701  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING: Site onestpay stole all my btc on: October 11, 2017, 03:46:40 AM
Sorry for the loss that you got there man.  Embarrassed . Anyway, thank you for providing this information to the public. This should serve you as a lesson to do some research first before sending BTC to any website. You must know that BTC transactions are irreversible and there's no way for you to get back your BTC once you send it to the address that they provided.

Upon checking the online reviews about the site, I can only say that their website is a scam. Many people are reporting that they also lost some BTC to that BTC exchanger. Only do transactions to trusted exchangers. You can always ask the forum about their experience with a service and see if they are legit or not.

Now i've leaned on the hard way, from now on i always ask you guys
I'm the one who should thank you

Best regards

That's a really huge amount of bitcoin dude and again I'm sorry and how unfortunate and thanks for the heads up though, at least you gave us warning and I think it may have prevented other people to deposit funds on that site. Its probably a scam site its really hard lessons. But don't be disappointed as you are not the first to be scam because almost all of us here have been when we are starting our bitcoin journey. But sometimes we need to go through this experiences and learn so that we can avoid it in the future. Again, thanks for giving us a fair warning and a red flag on that site.
8702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the safest way to protect you bitcoins? on: October 11, 2017, 03:24:29 AM
the safest wallet is the offline wallet but there is still a risk that if the pc where you keep the offline wallet is destroyed then you can not do anything

Yeah that's why hardware wallet is the safest yet more secured from anything else. Try ledger nano or trezor, it's quite pricey but at least you're coins are all safe especially when you really have a lot. While using flash drive is also safe but there's a chance that it'll get corrupted.

Yes, its worth to get a trezor or nano to protect your coins from such attack. It's pricey but at least you can sleep well at night because you know that your funds is safe. Of course you need to backup your password and seed and make multiple copies, print or save to usb. We all have the responsibility to protect ourselves because bitcoin is no longer a fad, huge amount of money is being involved everyday that's why hackers are really targeting it.
8703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putin, Russian central bank come down hard against bitcoin on: October 11, 2017, 02:34:01 AM
According to www.bloomberg.com Putin come down hard against bitcoin by calling   for more regulations.

“The use of cryptocurrencies bears serious risks,” which include money laundering, tax evasion and terrorism funding, Putin said at a conference in Sochi.

Source: https:///news/articles/2017-10-10/putin-is-said-to-hold-first-meeting-on-cryptocurrency-rules

Why would anyone be surprised by it? Russia is under a authoritarian government. Wherein people don't have personal freedom. And having bitcoin or cryptocurrencies is a threat to them. They are just hiding for reasons like they mentioned, but in reality they want to control everything and bitcoin is de-centralized for all we know. And since China (communism) has started to waged war against bitcoin, so don't be shock that Russia will follow the lead of China. Though the persons that are being harm here in the bitcoin community in Russia wherein it is very active as you can see in the forum.

8704  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoins - skyrocketing demands in Asia on: October 11, 2017, 02:05:26 AM
bitcoins - skyrocketing demands in Asia, it is true........So, what are the reasons behind this?

For a start Japan has legalized bitcoin so the demand from them is huge. And they are now the #1 country in terms of trading volume, followed by another Asian giant, South Korea. Although the bitcoin price is really peaking this past few days, the reason is that the looming hard fork on Oct. 25 might be involved and this is the effect that we are seeing. So demand plus speculation = bitcoin price skyrocketed and going to the moon. But don't forget that its not only in Asia though, bitcoin has no boundaries is that Asia is leading the revolution for this new technology and its taking the world by storm.
8705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC effect on altcoins on: October 11, 2017, 01:37:35 AM
I noticed that most times when btc is rallying almost all of the altcoins dip. and when there is a crash in btc all altcoins suffer as well. my interpretation is that for the first alts can't sustain the price against the $ if btc is high. and for the second, everyone is panic selling btc.
what do yo guys think ??

That's just how the way it is dude. When altcoin is bleeding, bitcoin is gaining for the simple fact that they are selling their altcoin and moving to bitcoin because of the anticipated fork on Oct. 25. Because when the HF happens, you will received free coins. So the more bitcoin you have in your wallet, the more free coins you will received. But once everyone dump the free coins, I'm sure that altcoin traders will go back to altcoin ecosystem and things will be normalized again. You can either go buy altcoins because its slumping or put your money on bitcoin. Its up to you.

8708  Economy / Economics / Re: Prediction: Everyone Will Have 100+ Sources of Income Within 10 Years on: October 09, 2017, 09:51:00 PM
Some of these don't really provide any real value if you'd ask me. Also, people in marginalized communities would like.to disagree with that, especially third world countries that still don't have access to the internet or even have their own mobiles and machines to send and receive crypto transactions. Sure there would be cryptos that pop almost out of nowhere in the future, but it isn't enough to be a source of income for some people who still don't have their own mobile and access to the internet.

In ten years time, so of the problems of internet would have been relieved to an extent where at least 30% of the populace of the developing countries could understand the internet usage. Anyway, to this, my concern is even education and not internet usage.  Education/knowledge is a parameter to understanding cryptos and also in financial proficience to determine the kind of investment to embark on.

I don't think we needed 10 years for internet to reach all side of the globe. Its already here, even third world countries have internet access now. And those who don't have internet are countries that censored it. But education is one thing though specially in the crypto world, if you don't know about it and just join because of thinking of getting profit, then you are wrong. At least they should have a basic knowledge or understanding and start it from there. Learning curve will come soon.
8709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again,BTC is back on: October 09, 2017, 09:31:45 PM
Yes and it will go back down again , it will keep going like this with 20% swings.

Yes and we will back bitcoin again once the price goes down. However, most of us here are extreme happy to see that bitcoin is finally back and I'm sure that most of us here have plans already in place if ever the price goes to $5000. As for me, I would hold on it and not sell if $5000 mark is reach. Last time if was a mental barrier for traders, slowly off loading their coins. But I hope that once $5000 is touch its gonna be sustainable and we wont' see any dumping. Anyone of you selling bitcoin when it reaches $5000?
8710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Patience and Holding on: October 09, 2017, 08:58:48 PM
Yes, Patients is most important for earning a good profit on holding. If you hold your coins for a long time, obviously you will be able to get much profit. Patients are must need for holding business. So be patients and make much profit.
You are wrong, not all of coins are good and not all of them will increase the price after a long time, some of them even fall down and lost a big value. You need to determine whether the coin is good or not because there are many shitty coin in this cryptocurrency community. Since the blockchchain was created, there are about more than 1000 coins and 80% of them are shit and they can never bring you anything.

That's why no can never really tell if you are going to hold on the shitty coins or not. I guess its up to you on buying that shitty coins. You didn't do your homework that's why you lose your investment buying that coin. I would rather stick to the best 5-10 coins in terms of marketcap and not look for a coin that is cheap and hope that the price could go up in the future otherwise if you keep holding that coins chances are you are going to lose and can't recovered your investment. However, if you hit a gem than your  gamble paid off.
8711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: .422 BTC Lost of simple change of latest Bread Wallet iOS on: October 09, 2017, 08:19:50 PM
Today this morning the app wouldnt just let me be in my app for whatever reason.

I lost .44 because I cant access to a 6 digit pin because of the 4 digit pin that was used on the bread wallet ios version.

Now I know I`m fucked because I tried to recover my wallet balance with the recovery phrase that was given at the time and that didnt work at all which always worked for me.

So good luck. I`m out of $1,800 usd. Learn from my mistake just stick with another btc wallet that has more chances of recovering your wallet.

I`m typing this as I`m about to go smoke a cig because that was basically part of a miner money and the support pretty much is giving me "oh well dude".

Sorry for your loss.

But are you sure that everything is lost, and what made the app change the no. of pin from four digits to six? Maybe its also good to warn other users of the bug, if its only a bug, on their subreddit.

If you are lucky, you might find someone who had the same problem but has recovered the BTC.
This suggestion would be good and its not too late or would easily give up on this kind of situation.Im wondering how those recovery phrase doesn't work? If those words did work back in the past then it should work for now also.It is somehow a bug or what? Bread wallet on ios version does really have 4 digit code for now I wasn't inform on the latest updates. Sorry for your loss man but try out the possible things that would able to recover your bitcoin. 0.44 btc is a lot man. $1800 isn't a joke amount and would really be worth to find the most possible solution on this one.

Agree, looks like the OP has given up already. $1800 is no joke and that is huge some of money. Heck, that's even worth one month of salary in a third world country. And as one members have suggested, double check everything the spelling the order of you mnemonic or recovery phrase. Bread wallet seems to be trusted, I think support will give you help. If I were the OP I will do everything on my end to recover it and not easily give up. Goodluck though and maybe one day you can go back and try to recover it.
8712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to find the best boubty campaigns? on: October 09, 2017, 08:00:32 PM
How to find the best boubty campaigns?
That's a difficult question , we can only judge the bounty is good or not after it's over. I often choose a promising project to join its bounties. It's up to the luck , you can never know how far a project can go.

I think its obvious that we can say that a bounty or a project is success after the ICO. But the assumed the OP is asking before the actual start of the ICO because he probably want to join one. I haven't been into bounty, but I was thinking of joining later because there has been a lot of successful ICO lately and the bounties are very good. I have read a lot of replies here so I guess its up to me which ICO I would join if I decided to based on all the answers and tips here.
8713  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: October 09, 2017, 07:39:36 PM
We are back online. Another mixer has sent over 7M requests to our .onion address (and it is not over yet). We have updated our code to mitigate this attack. Now every new session requires solving a captcha (sorry about that), but at least you can access ChipMixer now.

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. That's why I find it surprising that I wasn't able to access your site about a couple of days and no but to used other services that time because I have to mixed my coins and was eager to get it to my personal wallet. (sorry about that). But I will still used your services again. Just look it at the bright side, you are now gaining popularity, hence the attacked. I don't mind the solving the captcha as long as I know that my privacy here is being protected. Goodluck guys.
8714  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Back to 5000 Dollars ? on: October 09, 2017, 07:00:29 PM
Maybe, it is on the way up again. Maybe being pumped before the 2x split, but then again it maybe organic.

Last hard fork the price actually went up much to many's surprise so who knows lol.

You can never predict bitcoin :]

There is still room to make $5000 happen. I personally believed this is due to the Segwit2x implementation. Everyone wants get free Bitcoin Gold similar to what takes places on the Bitcoin Cash incident. People rush to buy bitcoin before the actual date of the split. That day alone, bitcoin price increase by 100$. And since the looming Segwit2x is still a couple of days, $5000 is possible. So let's wait a few more days before we can officially say that a new ATH has been touch once again.  Cheesy. And yes, predicting bitcoin price is really hard and difficult because its very unstable.
8715  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: October 08, 2017, 02:31:29 PM
People do scam others because is the easiest way to get money.  Heck they will even used everything like dropping a name of a charity just to get people's money. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. And they felt good outsmarting and scamming other people. Maybe because of their economic conditions. You can't blame them for being poor but they need to think that there are other ways to make money for yourself without taking advantage of other people's money. So all of us should be aware about scam acts and not to trust someone early on.
8716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What's up with all the bogus Airdrop scams? on: October 08, 2017, 01:52:32 PM
Yeah, I thought as much. So more "social" engineering that possible exploits could makes us loose assets if we're not careful. Did see someone mention that a carefully crafted smart contract could trick the user, sending less assets that what he paid for, so there's that too.

Thanks for sharing. Actually I haven't been in any Airdrop before, but it looks like the current craze right now. I want to join to earn free coins of course, but I didn't know how they works and your post summarized it. If what you are saying is correct then its possible that they can used those emails for marketing ploy in the future or even sell those emails to other company to spam mail. Expect unsolicited emails coming their way.
8717  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-08] Indian Self-Drive Car Rental Firm Beats Uber in Bitcoin Adoption on: October 08, 2017, 01:28:14 PM
Indians want to get everything and be the first to lead the innovation. I also read that there was one restaurant who are also accepting bitcoin. And it this becomes successful, we might, I say we might see Uber or Grab also followed suit. All eyes are now at this Indian company experiment. And they have like hedge against volatility by getting Unocoin to manage the risk for them. Let's see how will this experiment turn into. I hope this will be a success and the much needed mass adoption will be closer than ever.
8718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: October 08, 2017, 01:04:54 PM
What makes people compel to hold the bitcoin in this critical situation? What are they waiting for? Any good reason?

Most probably those people are investors who do the long term goal. They do not care how low would the value of bitcoin decrease because they are aiming for the long term and they knew that the decrease would be temporary and it will recover in the coming years.

There are really investors here who put a lot of money in bitcoin for the long haul. Those investors care for the value of bitcoin, but they are not scared if the price of bitcoin goes down. They don't panic. And they understand that it is part of the system. Bitcoin will not be bullish everytime and even it would decrease they still hold and hope that bitcoin can recover and will go further than the previous price. That is their mindset. Their investment is like 1 or more years in bitcoin.
8719  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time management. on: October 08, 2017, 12:44:35 PM
Most of us have a daily responsibilities.
How do you manage your time in trading and in bounty campaign as well as researching for the news and updates of your favorite altcoin?

I have a schedule for each activity to manage it well. In trading, it needs an hour to scan the charts and only need a minute to execute and after that I will just exit the market because I already have a conditional order in place in case the trade doesn't go my way and I just view the charts from time to time. After that I would proceed to do the campaign which may take up to an hour or two depending on how fast I can process the information to write the posts. Since I joined some social media campaigns of some ICOs, I would summarize it in an excel of what are the things that should be done for the day like reporting your posts or sharing it in social media sites.
I admire that you are a hardworking man you do a certain task every hour and i do think that you are a a fulltime bitcoiners or in the internet making money and you  time management is well divided by the hours of what you should be do for that particular hour.
I have a problem not only in time beacause i do have many works and i dont have a time management

Yeah it is very important to manage your time especially when you have a regular job, family to care and while working BTC. When you manage your time it very useful to plot your daily activities into a Gantt chart or just simple checklist were you can check from time to time to determine your activities if you are in the right track on that way you cannot missed single activity not being perform.

Yes, every minute counts if you have a lot of activity in your hands. Like family, business and even for you own as well. So I always right everything in the morning what are my daily activity while checking the price of bitcoin. If I like to trade then I will execute sell or buy orders. Then run into my business and there were I will continue my trading activity for the rest of the day. Then pick up kids have a chat with the family then call it a day. Its really hard but if you know how to prioritizes then it makes your life easier.
8720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you determine whether it's scam or not? on: October 08, 2017, 12:30:32 PM
There are lots of projects doing ICO.
As an investor of cryptocurrency, you might have some critical points of determination on you will go into ICO or not. What's the most important factor you decide to participate on ICO? And how do you judge the scam?
Please share your opinions. Smiley

You can't really judge an ICO if it is a scam. You need to look at who is behind the project. Are they trusted? Do the people involved is shady? How about the white paper? Is it professional written? What's their roadmap? How is the token divided amongst in investors? There are a lot of factors that you really need to look at if you are going to invest in a ICO. You have to be careful before giving them out your money.
