8841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying GPUs, need an opinion on: June 10, 2017, 06:51:27 PM
Don't worry about the DAG. Once the DAG >4GB you won't be mining anyways by then.

I heard there will be mixed PoS and PoW for long time.
8842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nvidia volta on: May 30, 2017, 05:25:17 PM
The Volta card unveiled is the GPU Compute card as other Tesla's have been.

This is what the 2080 and 2080ti will be eventually based upon, just wait another year for that if you're interested in it.

if you're interested in profits now, I suggest you pick up some 1070s and get to making some $$$

Now as a Gamer, I can't wait for the 2080 series, especially on the mobile side. 4k Ultra @ 60+fps on a laptop on basically every game anyone? Yeah that's coming.

good choice to buy now the 1070 but the 1070 should be 10% faster, it's maybe better to wait if you have already a farm, waiting for volta instead it's stupid there is too much time to wait and profit to lose

Next spring and a big boost.

This is really good for zec mining.

Here is my logic

https://coinmarketcap.com/

Rank---Coin------Total Cap----------Coin Price------Coins Mined--------  Daily Volume
17.......Zcash.....$124,925,489......$97.78............1,277,606............ $7,113,760

nvidia is the clear winner at mining this coin

The cap is low compared to Nvidia's $52,000,000,000 plus cap.  They can easily prop Zec's price to ensure cards sales.  Basically a rebate or commercial for their cards.

And they  can actually make money  trading the coin.  So  it is potentially cheaper and more effective then any rebate or commercial.

http://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart

   80mh    is  120,000  1080 ti's or 84,000,000 in sales

we know the network is  a mix  of many different cards, but  the gear growth  potential is huge.

nvidia and amd know about this is clear, they are releasing moster gpu for this sector too, but not only zec is good for nvidia, lbry is good too, maybe nvidia is behind the last pump of lbry? could be by how the thing are going

yeah could be.  I see that  diff could 2x  and price could stay at 100 usd  with zec  and the coin would still make money for miners.

It has been an amazing run for Gpu mining  more then 15 straight months of good coins for Gpus  and when you look at watts  the alts have beaten  BTC for more then 1 year in a row.

@ Eyedol-x  yeah  it looks like  a lot of growth  with the 2080 ti's  next year.

Early this year, if you pay 0.2/kWH for electricity, it was not very profitable.

That is right. It is very profitable now.
8843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: nvidia volta on: May 11, 2017, 06:40:38 AM
To clarify, this "card" is speced for AI and deep learning development.  It's going to be I N S A N E L Y expensive.  This is NOT a consumer grade product, yet.  Volta will be the basis of the next gen Nvidia cards, but the specs on this thing aren't what we'll see in desktop GPUs for some time.

I think so. It is not for us mining.
8844  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is worth to invest in the new Antminer L3+? on: May 08, 2017, 07:40:46 AM
Some guys got arrested for mining in Venezuela or something like that recently, right? I heard their farm got taken away and that's all I remember. Just make sure you're not pulling too much power because that could happen to you, too...

That was in the news. The power supply is also not reliable.
8845  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-4-12] Competitors SegWit and Extension Blocks make quick work of ASICBoost on: April 12, 2017, 08:12:19 AM
It is good to have many choices.
8846  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-01]SegWit2MB Proposal Combines Segwit Activation With Predetermined Blo on: April 03, 2017, 05:26:47 PM
The goal of the proposal is to end the civil war -- that's a worthwhile outcome

I think it is better to be 8MB + SW.
8847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Exchanges Unveil Emergency Hard Fork Contingency Plan on: March 18, 2017, 08:22:58 AM
I don't understand why the unlimited people just don't fork off and leave. Prove their way is better, if it is people will follow them.

If they have the majority of the PoW, they will fork off. Their coins will be listed as XBU.
8848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum to go up or down? on: March 05, 2017, 03:38:29 PM
shorterm down

longterm up

The price has been around $0.94 for two months now. I think it is absorbing the selling of ICO very well.

Current price is high if the price is the price ico or guide price alone, can be up to 0.94 price
very high for a new coin
create management success

The dollar price has risen quite a lot recently.
8849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: February 21, 2017, 10:42:43 AM
most people just using bitcoin for investation
don't know how exactly number of people using bitcoin  Cheesy
Bitcoin is not just an investment platform it has much more wider options than that and if you look at the trading scenario there is a budding option when it comes to trading.

The easiest thing to calculate the actual user data is of the bitcoin wallet. I'm very sure that all transactions are recorded in the wallets.
You really cannot calculate the actual number of people with the data collected from the number of bitcoin wallets used.Everyone uses multiple address for every transaction and so it wont be a definite answer. It is not possible to find out the exact number.

That is right. But we can estimate from the number of transactions.
8850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH under 8$!!! on: January 03, 2017, 04:29:06 PM
today reach 5$$
be careful brothers

Today not but in few weeks! Before new year!
failed again, but i love your predictions. keep on shittalking.

I think the price of the Etheruem will be higher in the near future.
8851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: December 28, 2016, 09:58:42 AM
I think no one can determine the actual number of people who use bitcoin. Becouse it so anonimously and one person could be have more than one wallet.

Some of the wallets (especially those in crypto-exchanges and investment sites) require a government issued ID. So one person will not be able to create more than one wallet. But that said, sites such as Blockchain.info and BTC-e require no ID information.
but not all users use that bitcoin exchange or purse, of course logic of users will avoid the exchange sites or wallet that requires verification, so it still bitcoin user number can not be calculated

that is right. I know many people do not use the exchanges.
8852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: December 06, 2016, 04:27:26 PM
it seems to be hard to determine the actual number or population of bitcoin users suppose that the number of people who are in this forum is just a small percentage of total number of people around the world that uses bitcoin. it's very hard because you need to make a statistics and census and we all know that most users are anonymously dealing with bitcoin.
You right, even we use data from blockchain we still can not determine the actual number of people who using bitcoin. Becouse one person could be have more than one wallet.

Maybe it is not too necessary to know the number of people using the bitcoin. As long as there are more transactions, that is good.
8853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH under 8$!!! on: November 30, 2016, 01:25:25 PM
I doubt if this is the time to buy Ethereum, I will wait until the team get it right and the network becomes stable, four successive hard fork and the network is still not stable what do we know will be the problem after this next hard fork

It is better to wait for a few more weeks at least. The Ethereum is under some kind of attack for a few months.
8854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: November 08, 2016, 06:37:20 PM
Its still profitable and I stay doing it because I think that ETH is still worth mining and right now its also still profitable so why should we not do it right ?

It depends on the price of your electricity. If that is higher than $0.2/kWh, it is better to buy the Ethereum directly.
8855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: November 03, 2016, 09:30:05 PM
I think there is no way to know the exact number. Actually, there's a lot of people who are using bitcoin at the moment. In short, it's already countless. As time goes by, there's more and more people who are joining the world of bitcoin and this is actually good for bitcoin.

We just need to estimate the order of the magnitude. At present, there are fewer than 500,000 people.
8856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum to go up or down? on: October 17, 2016, 07:06:24 AM
Ethereum is now working better on its way and I think in the future the investors of ethereum will increase and more traders will do trade with ethereum so we can say that the price of ethereum will increase in the coming future.

But after experiencing the past crash of ethereum it is very hard for me to once again take part in this altcoin. I have invested in a number of altcoins but in this altcoin I am investing only a minimum amount.

yeah, me too. the crashes are always hard and big. and we are seeing another crash although the speed of it right now is very slow.

the only reason for these crashes are the pumps and the bubbles that take form with ethereum. and right now i am waiting for the crash because of bubble burst + another hard fork.

The Ethereum price is still around $12 at the moment. I do not see any big crash. it is normal price.

The ETC price rose 10% in the last 24 hours. Is there any reason for the rise? I thought it is not going to hard fork.
8857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: October 08, 2016, 05:19:09 PM
Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.

I think to determine the actual number of people using bitcoin is can be found in the exchange platform, or in the blockchain. But not precise count I think.

Not everyone trade bitcoins with other currencies also not everyone use blockchain.info
So predicting the numbers of users on these things is useless.
If I am not wrong then many Darknet websites uses Bitcoin and counting the users who use bitcoins there is nearly impossible.
So I think it's impossible to find the number of users using bitcoin , It's like counting the starts.

we can never know the real number of bitcoin users that is why the only thing we can do is to speculate and make guesses based on the usages that we can see.

so all of the above can be right, and this actually gives us a general idea about the real number. I can add to the list the following: number of transactions per day, the number of wallets on coinbase, and if possible number of addressed with more than 0.01BTC on them.

Maybe the actual number of the people own the people does not matter too much. The number of people doing active transaction matters more.
8858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: September 14, 2016, 04:53:12 PM
It is a difficult information to obtain, perhaps is possible to get approximations, but with high margin of error. In my opinion, the number is something around 250k users.

I think the exchanges can help with the actual figure

Information from exchanges regarding unique users can give a decent estimate (more than now) as to how many people are trading, but I don't think they will share that information with the outside world. Otherwise they would have done it already I guess. But then again, it will still be an estimate, and nothing can tell us whether or not it's close to the actual amount.

The exchanges will protect the information of all the users. Otherwise, nobody will use the exchange any more.
8859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: September 03, 2016, 01:05:57 PM
we can not calculate the actual number of bitcoin because there is a huge number of people are using bitcoin and i think anyone never know the actual number of bitcoin users.

We can just get a very rough estimate of the bitcoin users. I think we have about 200 active users by the number of transactions.
8860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: September 03, 2016, 11:28:02 AM
I have been running my eight 480s for like 3.5 weeks now and closing in on 1BTC worth of ETH.
My plan was to go ROI at end of November and it seem like i am going to make it.

I am not going to sell one single ETH this year though, stacking up and paying the electricity out of my own pocket.

Two more 480s arriving today hopefully and they should ROI in December at the latest.

Do you think your 480 can ROI in 3 months? Did you consider the rise of the difficulty. It rises 30% every month.
Yeah i am pretty sure i will reach ROI even if the diff rises alot.
I think that the ETH price will go up from here until we know if it goes POS or more POW.

I hope so. But for the last few months, the Ethereum price did not rise. If the trend continues, it will not be profitable.
