8801  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-09-12]Swiss Town to Accept Tax Payments in Bitcoin on: September 12, 2017, 02:51:00 PM
Swiss Town to Accept Tax Payments in Bitcoin

The municipality of Chiasso in Switzerland is to start accepting tax payments in bitcoin, according to a local news report.

The new scheme, to be put into place for the start of next year, was apparently made following discussion with various blockchain groups based in the area.

There are limits to the scheme, however, and tax payments made in bitcoin cannot exceed 250 Swiss francs (around $265), the report states.

The Mayor of Chiasso, Bruno Arrigoni, was cited as saying that the town is "recognised internationally as an epicentre of a growing technological and economic growth for both the canton and in Switzerland."

Nicknamed the "CryptoPolis," Chiasso is set on establishing itself as a rival to the country's blockchain epicentre Zug, and has reportedly seen eight startups set up base there in the past few months.

Zug, which has become famous internationally as Switzerland's "Cryptovalley," announced it would allow citizen to pay for government services in digital currencies back in 2016. However, Zug has not made any move to integrate bitcoin tax payments as an option for its inhabitants.

8802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think you are a gambling expert? on: September 12, 2017, 02:41:22 PM
I would say no as well. I think the feeling will makes us feel good but no expert. It just based on luck and you consider expert then you are very extremely lucky I guess. But I don't know if there will be so called gambling expert. Everyone has his winning days in gambling, but for most of us, we are always on the losing end. We played to profit and should not claim as an expert because nobody is. Its purely based on luck.

Please either reply here or in PM to discuss details.

Best regards,

Hacken founder

Looks like a very promising project to offer in bitcointalk. But how can we know that you are really white hackers and not going to steal our crypto? Again this is a good project specially for those ICO's that are going to open. They can hire you to secure and protect the funds of the investors. Of course they will ask for your reputation and we all wanna know that they will not feel for a white hacker who turns up to be black. LOL.
8804  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the moon!!! on: September 12, 2017, 12:50:36 PM
My prediction maybe was little rush, cuz i forgot to mentioned that when weekend start we have little drop on price, for some perfect opportunity to buy and sell on next week starts. Some do this and create good income. This is just the beginning for next price increase, someone did mentioned even over 10k, but whit this paste we could actually see this price by this year end.

By the end of this year, we are going to see bitcoins at 5k dollars or more or less. They are definitely increasing in price at very high rate but still they can’t make to 10k dollars before 2018 beginning. My prediction is that by the end of 2018, they will be touching 10k dollars easily. Good luck, all.
I am not so sure about that, a new fork is coming in November and that is too close to the end of the year and I think that fork has the strength to damage bitcoin a lot more than the bitcoin cash fork, so I will not be surprised that after that fork we saw a crash on bitcoin and that those prices lasted for a lot longer than we may have thought at first.
Don’t be pessimistic. Nothing such is going to happen to bitcoins rather this fork will further push the value of bitcoins in the green part of graph. There is no need to stay worry about the fork, this fork is going to help bitcoins in achieving 5k dollars before the start of 2018. I don’t think anything bad is waiting for bitcoins.

Its like the Aug 1 split, people are saying that bitcoin will be doomed but what happened? Bitcoin touch $3000 before the split and now we are going to $4500-$5000 again. If the looming Segwit2x is implemented, I guess we are going to take the same way. It may dip at the beginning, but once it gain steam, we may see a massive bull run that will push bitcoin to $6000-$7000 at the end of the year. I'm very positive about that.
8805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chinese government has banned some exchange on: September 12, 2017, 12:43:19 PM
Today bitcoin growing slowly it is clearly showing no country or authority can stop bitcoin . Bitcoin will grow and hit 10 k mark soon . Ultimately Chinese will be the looser.

Its more of a lost for them not ours. I don't know what the feeling of a Chinese bitcoin enthusiast by now. The bitcoin they all loved was suddenly shutdown by their government. Its just sad though, but life must go on and bitcoin has already recovered and we can see the price is $4300 now. This really proves has resilient bitcoin is and its possible that it can go even further if the bitcoin train has just started its steam. We don't know when is the next stop. Maybe $5000 again?
8806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is officially banned in China !!! on: September 11, 2017, 07:55:17 PM
It was a matter of time, in fact I’m a little surprised that this did not happen before, maybe the Chinese are very busy on something else, even some member of the forum were asking for solutions about a way to stop or at least reduce the number of scam icos appearing in the forum and it seems that the Chinese government is going to help with that, since less money is going to flow to icos.

I think they may have been looking at crypto's already starting when they investigated the fake trading volumes around Feb-March this year. And when the price ballooned to $4000-$5000 this month, they can no longer ignore if. So they step up specially stopping fake or scam ICO, specially that a lot of Chinese has been investing on it ever since. I guess they just want to protect their people against it, but the timing of the declaration is somewhat off.
8807  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Online wallet on: September 11, 2017, 01:58:05 PM
I just used Electrum wallet. They are very lightweight and you don't need to download the full nodes to be able to get it to function. You can also change fees as well. For me this is the best wallet beside the Core and Blockchain.info. Of course with Electrum, you have the control of your seed. So in case, you can recover your wallet. Just be careful and store your seed somewhere else and have it printed for safe keeping.
8808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am an Chinese, and I know what happened, and I will buy more crypto assets. on: September 11, 2017, 01:23:58 PM
It's awesome to hear this from a person living in the most controversal country in the cryptocurrency world. But i don't think that China banned the use of bitcoin, they just banned the ICO and i don't think you will be in trouble as a simple user anyway.

Just like he said their government rule sometimes change so he believed that it will not be a permanent decision. Maybe in a few months or years they will suddenly change their ruling against ICO and will just put a tighter regulation. I admire that OP and this is a inspiring story indeed specially for us non-Chinese who truly believed and invested in it. Can you please let us know that are the real sentiments of our fellow Chinese bitcoiners regarding the news that's coming out lately from your China regarding the crypto-currency?
8809  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the top? on: September 11, 2017, 12:50:51 PM
Hi all,

I read the news of Bitcoin on an almost daily basis, multiple times a day. When I first started reading about bitcoin last month, the news were all positive that bitcoin would continue to rise and there were even some estimates of it reaching as high as 250,000 USD by 2030, and 1million USD in the future. One article went on to say that if BTC were to replace the world's economy, it was be 2million USD each. That is a staggering number to even think about. I love the concept of the blockchain and the use of BTC as an asset currently, and hopefully a currency in our future. Do you guys think it will reach 1million USD per coin or is that an absurd number to even say? What are your predictions on the coin?

This week and the last, when bitcoin reached $5000, all the predictors that were bullish were right. But now its starting to drop, and I havent been seeing any more crazy bullish predictions on the price. Do some of you think that Bitcoin will fall drastically sometime soon, or even halve in price?

No, I don't think that fall drastically as you have describe. Its only when the news coming from China really pull the prices back after enjoying a massive bull run that saw hitting $5000. But if you will check the price now, its trading at average of $4200 so for me it has already recovered from the negative news. I think if you will read carefully those predictors, they said that their might be a pullback before going in at $5000-$7000. Although most of them didn't see the news coming from the Chinese.
8810  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am getting sick of fucking Chinese idiots on: September 11, 2017, 12:38:13 PM
There is no point in doing that because china will take out other way around as they have always done it. Moreover it's just not possible to ban country from using the bitcoin because there are no rules and jurisdiction on the use of blockchain from its creator and its virtual that's most important. Being virtual and present over the internet means complete freedom of choice and you can not stop it because there is no international government or authorities which can do that. We live in world where only government within its own boundaries can make changes and if left the boundaries then you are no more abiding to those jurisdiction.

So the the whole thing is we can't do that. That would be better though but it's ain't possible. :-)

The smartest Chinese are already moving to BCH.  The regulators are all looking into Bitcoin and Ethereum.  They ignore Bictoin Cash for now.  So, if you need good capital flight medium, don't use legacy Bitcoin which is in the crosshairs of the government.
I won't deny the fact that bitcoin cash has more support in China than any other crypto coin but you also don't deny that 80 percent of bitcoin trading is done in China. IMO, Chinese government wants to take control over crypto market in its country, that's why we are hearing disturbing news from China on daily basis.

Correct, maybe before, bitcoin or crypto and not in their radar. But seeing how the price goes from ~$1000 to more than $4000 this year alone, I think they felt that they are threaten by this currency that's why all of a sudden they are making a huge U-Turn against it. They really want to take a hold and control everything crypto. And then are taking the first step now by banning ICO and shutting down the local exchanges.
8811  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-11]Alleged BTC-e Operator Claims Innocence in New Interview on: September 11, 2017, 12:24:54 PM
Obviously, no one will openly admit to be responsible for what is being claimed. I however can't see him going anywhere in the comings months, maybe even years -- the US authorities won't just be letting him go so easily, especially not while the investigations of the MtGox theft are running. I personally don't really care what is happening as long as btc-e returns as promised, and I have gained enough confidence to believe in a good outcome for people after them having started refunding people recently.

I agree. His name will be tainted with the 'BTC-e laundered money'. I guess he just trying to protect his name or reputation, but my question is, does he have that reputation to begin with? I think he has been involving himself to a lot of scam and I remember some Legendary Member here posting links about him his company and the history of scams that he is alledgely involved.
8812  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-09-11]Alleged BTC-e Operator Claims Innocence in New Interview on: September 11, 2017, 11:13:00 AM
In his first interview since his arrest, alleged BTC-e operator Alexander Vinnik has said he is innocent of charges brought against him by the U.S. government.

Arrested in Greece in July following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Russian native is currently being held there on charges of money laundering and operating an "unlicensed monetary service" until he can be extradited to the U.S. Vinnik refused to allow himself to be voluntarily extradited.

In the interview with Russia Today, Vinnik said:

"I do not consider myself guilty … The fact that I worked for BTC-e and did my job, and it's not justifiable to accuse me of it. I found out about the charge about a month after I was taken into custody. This was told to me by my Russian lawyer."

8813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 215: Johnson vs Borg Info and Prediction Thread on: September 11, 2017, 11:09:15 AM
Anyway, how was main event?  Is it worth watching?

It wasn't a good fight. They were both waiting to counter & spent a lot of time not doing anything waiting for the other person to make a move.

Gilbert Melendez vs Jeremy Stephens was a brutal fight. Can't say that was really a good fight either so much as a one sided beat down.

Ilir Latifi vs Tyson Pedro might have been the best fight on the card that wasn't a completely one sided affair.

Wasn't able to watch the fight but I read that the fight is very tactical and they are very careful against each other, so I don't think they lived up to the hype. And they say that the fans are booing, LOL. I guess the 5th round takedown really seal the victory for Nunes. Yes, the Melendes and Stephens fight are brutal and we all know the Gilbert get bloodied always. And Jeremy Stephens won the fight. Will try to look for videos later and watch the fight though.

Yep, this card is really boring af without Johnson vs Borg. Both fighters are playing defensive which is unusual for Nunes, i agree that takedown on 5th round is a lock for Nunes win. Rip for the people who buy per per view, still can't believe though Borg can't fight on this card. When i saw the ufc vlog, borg seems fine.

I feel asleep watching the main event LOL. Yes the fans are booing because they want both fighters to engaged. But they just touch each other until the take down in the fight. Nunes really doesn't have sparks to be a champion unlike the Ronda Rousey, who became the face not only of the bantamweight division, but the UFC for many years. I'm liking him to D. Johnson, although one of the best and the current champion, seems to lack the star power that a champion like Jon Jones. And as champion for me Nunes should at least the aggressor in this fight.
8814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Revolution in Nigeria on: September 11, 2017, 11:00:24 AM
Hi Bitcoinaires... can we have Cryptocurrency Fans and Advocates in Nigeria follow this thread so we could possibly galvanize our strengths and dreams in order to advance the cause of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria and possibly form a team to censor and discourage SCAM COINS by community effort and idea contributions....

Let the Revolution Begin!!!

I'm not from Nigeria but definitely I can give you the support. I think Africa is one place that bitcoin can really thrive IMHO. However, I don't know if Africa is ready for the revolution. How's the infrastructure though? Internet connection? I also supports your advocate against Scams because sad to say, a lot of scams are coming from Nigeria. From gold bullion scam to crypto currencies in general. I wish you goodluck and the Nigerians to carry the torch in this bitcoin revolution.
8815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think you are a gambling expert? on: September 11, 2017, 10:43:02 AM
I just want to know how you feel when you get a big win from the gambling you play, I know that feel is definitely fun.
But, do you feel or ever assume you are a gambling expert after you get a big win?
Then what kind of gambling has made you think of yourself as a gambling expert?

Depends on the game. If its like sports betting then definitely you can say that you are an expert because you able to call everything correct and won. Another is poker, if you win that tournament, then you are an expert because you beat everyone, you are the best of the best. But if you won let's say in slots or online dice game, its more on luck and not skills or your ability to 'read the other team or the opponents'.
8816  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: NovaExchange connection on: September 11, 2017, 10:38:47 AM
if you can not do the trade or open up the exchanger site which mean your IP address had been blocked by them,
lately they're attacked by people and because of that the site has been down and it's very slow a few days ago,
they're tracking the IP of the attacker and blocking it in order to prevent another attack in the future.
so,your IP address suspected as one of the attacker that is why you can not reach their website,
other than that a new registration also disabled for now.

the only way to reach their site is by sending the ticket to them and proof it that you're not one of those attacker,
you can reach their website if they lift the ban in your account if not,say goodbye

i can easly change ip, did not worked, here the response from nova

Hi Sir

There you go as least you got a answer from their support and you need some patience here. I'm assuming that they are doing this upgrade to protect their customer based against DDoS or even an hack. So its gonna be worth to wait till everything is up and ready for us.

Edit: I was able to connect their just now. Maybe you can try on your end to see if its work. Otherwise you will need to contact support again. Happy trading. Grin
8817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you read news to be up-to-date with what's affecting $ of Bitcoin/Altc on: September 10, 2017, 05:24:30 AM
Hi,
Just wondering where you read your news  to keep up-to-date with what happening/affecting the price of Bitcoin/Altcoins?
I am reading a few websites such as cointelegraph.com etc – but when the news hit these website it is already old news.

Thanks
JH

I just get my updates here in the forum in the Press Release section. Although all the news from there comes from websites like coindesk, coinidol, news.bitcoin.com or cointelegraph.com. But what I really like about the Press Release section is that you will see a lot of comments so you will know if the news is really just rubbish or fake news. Most of the experienced members chime in that forum so you will have an idea what the news is all about and what it can bring to the market. So I also suggest you visit that thread as well.
8818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 215: Johnson vs Borg Info and Prediction Thread on: September 10, 2017, 05:04:28 AM
eh the borg fight being canceled didnt really ruin the card the JDS vs Francis N. did i was looking forward to see that fight more than the DJ fight

JDS vs Francis Ngannou was definitely one of the fights I was looking forward to the most.

Demetrious Johnson is receiving a lot of accolades, he's ranked #1 on many pound for pound lists. Many consider him to be the best overall MMA fighter actively fighting. It seems like he's gotten a bit jaded. Its strange how he's the champion and seems less happy with his place in things when he's being paid much more than most. I think maybe he doesn't appreciate how lucky he is and so I won't miss him not fighting.

Ray Borg is supposed to have a viral infection. I wonder what type of virus he is infected with.

They say that its weight issues, other news says its virus infection. Its not clear though was is the real reason. Yes, Dana White is very pissed off right now because of the cancellation of the main event.

For me, Demetrious Johnson is really the best pound for pound right now. The only problem I see is that he really don't get as much exposure as those big guys that's why you may feel that he is disappointed and frustrated. But if he really wants to step up the plate then he should move up in weight and challenge the big guys.
8819  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-09] Bitcoin Price Recovers, Chinese Exchanges Not Being Banned on: September 10, 2017, 04:54:37 AM
I am sad to realized that unconfirmed reports can easily be affecting the value of Bitcoin. Well, this is really a weakness of all markets we have...rumors can easily lead to unwarranted decisions and then within minutes the market can be in panic. Right now, even if it is already known that banning exchanges might not happen at all, the value of Bitcoin has not yet recovered...but since it is already the weekend where demand can be weak we might expect Bitcoin to be back surging in the next few days though it might not be possible for it to go beyond $5,000 and might just be staying at $4,400- $4,500.

Damn. So its really fake news. But the problem is that the damaged is done already. Many nervous investors already dump their coins pulling the price back to $4200 again. But yeah, usually during weekends the market is quiet with few major orders. But I hate that the news causes panic, and now those who have sold already and read this news will surely regret their decisions. Oh well, that's life.
8820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are we in a bubble? on: September 10, 2017, 04:49:43 AM
Yes we are in bubble..bitcoin and another alt coin will burst and take anothe4 deep in this month. Maybe untill next years..i will wait bitco8n at $1000 or maybe $800. And will but many bitcoin if the deep reach that price. Hold tight bro..we are in the bigest roller coster in the world..

think you're going to be waiting a very long time if you're waiting for $800 or $1000 btc

LOL. I seriously doubt that we can ever touch that price again. Its more than half of the current price and the only thing I can think of such scenario happening is that big whalers dump their coins and shift to altcoin market. Do you think that they are stupid to do not? I don't think so. So this scenario is nearly impossible.

I don't think that we are in a bubble. This is already 2017 and a lot of investors is already in bitcoin. We even have a country that is backing up the market. Japan and Australia. The price decline now is due to the China announcement about banning ICO and local exchanges. Its not that a bubble has been burst.
