8781  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pricing over 4K ,thinking about buying on: September 20, 2017, 08:30:48 AM
I think the OP has already missed a good buying point at $2800. But for me $4000 is not a good entry because the price is too high. But then again, if you have funds ready and willing to be invested then definitely get some now. We have see the price could surge again in the coming months or years. So buy and hodl it for the long haul and get your rewards later with the price double in 2018-2020.

8783  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-18] 5 Big Bitcoin Crashes: What We Learned on: September 20, 2017, 07:31:13 AM
The best part that we learned through these crashes is that Bitcoin market is getting mature now. Both the crashes of 2017 recovered in short time as compared to long period it used to take before. In just a period of some weeks, we are back to $4000. The main reason for this is that user base is increasing and with this distribution of bitcoin will get uniform and bulk holders might not able to drive the price.

Also one thing that I have noticed is that Bitcoin investors come from every age and every part of the society. People who have never thought investing ever in traditional assets find it easy to invest in Bitcoin. Many don't really understand the market and negative news effect such people first and they panic sell. This is the reason that some influential people can bring such a drop in matter of hours.

Its not the market but the people who have learn to trust bitcoin became matured enough not to be affected by the negativity around bitcoin. Investors come and go, but the trust that was build through the years is going strong that those crashes made bitcoin more resilient than ever. The China scare was big, but we are able to withstand that storm and look at the price now, touching $4000 once gain bringing sign that there we have matured and strong enough to face challenges along the way.
8784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions about whitepapers on: September 20, 2017, 06:24:43 AM
What is your opinion of whitepapers you read.
I'm asking because I read few and was very inaccurate, very confusing.
Please let me know your opinion, thank you.

Some of them are garbage and complete rubbish. And it looks like a 5 year old wrote the whitepaper. But most of the whitepapers looks professional and the roadmap of the project is clear and fully explained. You have to be very careful on whitepaper that are very confusing or inaccurate because the only intention is to really scam investors. However, if you find inaccurate things then you can directly ask the dev team in one of their communication channels.
8785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BOXING MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT - Canelo vs. GGG Discussion on: September 19, 2017, 04:50:09 PM
In my perspective, if it would not be a draw I'll definitely go with Canelo as the winner. It's a tough match and as for the scoring, I'll leave triple G with less one point than canelo considering how he answered every blows.
I'm not a fan of Canelo and it's my first time to watch his fight so this is an unbias decision from me. I guess this fight was the nearest defeat for triple G  Shocked

Exactly, Canelo looks like winning than triple G, it's just rather unfair to settle for a draw but what can you say it's boxing and if you don't go with your own judge by knocking down your opponent it's likely to be decided against you.

Like Pacman's said this the chance for boxing to reclaim the trust of the people but then again they screwed up. Kodus for both fighters but a draw? I had it GGG won that fight. Boxing really became a business, In which promoters doesn't care about the essence of Boxing but instead they eye for the money. This is another example why a lot of Boxing fan before hates the sports now. A rematch would likely to happen and for sure it will happen early next year.

These replies show that some people saw Canelo as a winner and other saw Golovkin as the winner, so I guess the best decision was a draw, but most boxing experts point to a win of GGG. The 118-110 card in favor of Canelo by one of the judges was absolutely fucked tho.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/boxing/4483759/canelo-vs-ggg-who-is-adalaide-byrd-scorecard-controversial/

That one judge who scored the fight 118-110 should be banished. But as per NSAC, will not suspend her and still can judge but won't work anytime soon. Her scoring is very controversial. Is she watching a different fight? Its not even reflective of the other two judges who score it very very very close. For me NSAC needs to suspend her and possible ban her from judging if she have made another controversial scoring in the future..

8786  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin without China on: September 19, 2017, 04:32:19 PM
Well, my personal opinion is that we will be much better without China. Anyway the Chinese don't like decentralized currencies. They only like currencies such as the Renminbi, which can be manipulated by the government. Just ask the question yourself. Why we need to bother so much about China, when we are witnessing increasing demand from countries such as Japan, South Korea and Australia?

I consider China a prime mover and big player in crypto sector and bitcoin in general with their mining power. However, they have chosen the path to stay away with the crypto so I guess we need to moved forward without them. Its their total lost, not us. Bitcoin is not tied to a single entity and as much as they have the mining power, it will be immediately filled in by other nations like Japan and South Korea. Its just to say to see them suddenly waging war against bitcoin which they started the revolution to begin with.
8787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It looks like token/coin sale is still okay in China...just not an "ICO" :P on: September 19, 2017, 04:02:25 PM
The sale is not open to citizens of the United States, Mainland China, or Singapore.

so it's not ok in china then.

hong kong is a completely separate jurisdiction but how long that lasts is anyone's guess.

I agree. They have a separate jurisdiction although they are still under Mainland's control. I speculate that its just a matter of time before Chinese government will put pressure on Hongkong as well.

The sale is not open to citizens of the United States, Mainland China, or Singapore.

so it's not ok in china then.

hong kong is a completely separate jurisdiction but how long that lasts is anyone's guess.

Chinese citizens are not legally allowed to join the "sale".  I guess a British (or anyone not Chinese, American, or Singaporean) in China (or anywhere) can legally join.

So its possible that non-Chinese can be used as front by the Mainlanders to be able to get away from the ICO ban? Do you think most of whalers will do this to get around with the regulations?
8788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Pirate Bay's website steals your CPU Power to mine Monero on: September 19, 2017, 03:45:02 PM

As you may already know, The Pirate Bay is one of the most popular torrent and file-sharing websites in the world.
The Pirate Bay's team has recently been caught taking advantage of its website popularity, and trying to make money by secretly injecting a Javascript code in it, to make its visitors generate (Mine) a cryptocurrency called Monero for the team.
After this issue was reported, The Pirate Bay issued a statement on its website saying that, it was only a test for just 24 hours :

Quote
"This is only a test. We really want to get rid of all the ads. But we also need enough money to keep the site running," says The Pirate Bay.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
https://steemit.com/monero/@bad.r2017/the-pirate-bay-s-website-steals-your-cpu-power-to-mine-monero

Hmm.. its a malware or trojan that exploited Window users to mine XMR. It doesn't look good in their images if you are going to ask me. But they don't have image to protect in the first place that's why they take advantage of every unsuspecting victim who uses their website.

I saw this in the news and thought it was very cheeky. I am all for web hosts to try new ways to monetise/finance their sites.. and if this method involves crypto currencies then all the better.

They SHOULD HAVE told people about it though...

If they told people that then would have lost alot of "customers" and revenues. Well that's the price to have to pay for downloading pirated copies of movies or software. Good thing I no longer using their site. Its one thing they let people downloaded pirated copy, but another thing if you are stealing in return.
8789  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Campaign and Reward on: September 19, 2017, 03:31:21 PM
Yes, checked Fortune Jack or even Nitrogen signature campaigns, I think its one of the longest running campaigns here so definitely some of the campaigners would have already pocketed 1 BTC or close to getting 1BTC already. Of course, they won't reveal themselves here.  Grin. So if you are targeting to someday get 1 full sweep, to need to have a lot patience and luck to be able to join campaign that will last for at least a year or two.
8790  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-19] Bitcoin rebounds in India too, rises 20% in 3 days to wipe off loss on: September 19, 2017, 03:17:48 PM
That's pretty much a normal thing to happen since the Western and the Asian market are leading everything. I find it quite a bitter pill to swallow that China as single country (regardless of their size) takes down the entire world market.

That's definitely not how it should be, and especially not when you consider that China has been surpassed by Japan and South Korea already. People should accept that China isn't the only source of growth to focus on.

For that reason I seriously hope that the entire world crypto market disconnects itself from one specific country going through whatever forced regulations ~ whether it's China or another country, don't let a single country ruin things.

I think by now, we can seen the effect of China "leaving" the limelight and other countries to become apparent and fill the crypto space left by China. Indeed Japan and South Korea takes over and not it looks like India is trying to get in the picture as well. So the more you moved forward, the more that we will not felt the effect that China has left. We need to close a page on them and open for others. Bitcoin will survive without them.
8791  Economy / Exchanges / Re: IS IT SAFE TO STORE BITCOINS AND OTHER COINS ON MY BITTREX ACCOUNT? on: September 19, 2017, 02:33:16 PM
I just started trading crypto currency. This is my first time to trade. What I did is just a self study. I read everything about crypto and trading and watch videos on youtube. Some did not makes sense Smiley One question in my mind is , is it safe to just store my bitcoins and other coins that I bought on BITTREX? I have a blockchain account but the fee when sending and requesting withdrawal is quiet high. So I decided to just store it on bittrex. For the other crypto currency, I only have ETH Wallet.

Thanks for the help.

It really depends on how much coins are you going to store on your Bittrex account. Experienced members here all spoken that its not really safe to store big amounts of bitcoins, on those exchanges because if they are hacked, you may say bye-bye to your coins. You can scour the internet and you will see countless traders who have lost hundreds or even millions of dollars because their coins is just sitting on it and when they are hacked, the coins are lost forever.

And one thing I learn as well is that if you don't have control of your private keys, then its not your coins. So I think the best option is to just put enough coins just for your trading then moved in to a safe wallet like Electrum or a Hardware wallet like Trezor.
8792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to buy again? on: September 19, 2017, 02:19:02 PM
http://coinmarketcap.com/

Seems altcoin drop has slowed down and many of them are recovering. It seems downfall is over for now, but since they are slowly rising, I guess it's time to buy now before they recover too much?

Incidentally, the incident has stopped, however, things have not completely recovered yet, and I am suffering a heavy influence from ETC, maybe I should keep it for a long time.

I think with the continued price fluctuation on Altcoins, I consider it the best buying point. Why? We all love to buy low, and since almost all of them are still in read, while those who are recovering are very slow, I consider this a good buying option for us. However, the price is really hard to predict, that's why we have to take advantage of it, because we may never know that tomorrow the price will just spike so the likely opportunity to profit is already missed. So personally, I would love to buy in this dip.
8793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULD WE START LOOKING ELSE WHERE on: September 19, 2017, 02:03:47 PM
With all the negative news going around about bitcoin coursing a lot of panic and anxiety....do you this its time to look else where for a guarantee investment?
i mean may be eth doge etc....

LOL. There are n guarantee investments, Of course you have to diversify your portfolio, but in the crypto world, bitcoin is the best investment I believed. Although their is such thing "guarantee investment", but bitcoin has a lot to offer and you gonna love the volatility in itself. Its been 5 days or so since you wrote this thread, so if you just hodl and stay with bitcoin, it has recovered already and last time I checked the price is going to $4000.  I advise you to diversify your portfolio, but don't left bitcoin because its the best crypto investment you can have specially if you are in it for the long haul.
8794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: September 17, 2017, 06:00:33 AM
Bitcoin will recover, once it goes down to a specific points it will become very desirable to buy, because people know the potential it has in going beyond $5,000.]

Not only that, the average Joe knows about Bitcoin, but never heard of Bitcoin Cash. The fact that it has Bitcoin in its name will confuse them.

that is right. I think the bottom of this downturn is around $2800. After that, the price will rise to $6000 or higher. The Bitcoin Cash will be $5000 or higher.

I don't know about Bitcoin Cash ever being that close to Bitcoin in terms of price. Like I said earlier, it's only going to confuse the average Joe. Everybody that knows about Bitcoin Cash knows about Bitcoin, but only a tiny percent of the population that has heard of  Bitcoin knows what Bitcoin Cash is, and if they hear about it they will be like, "Wtf is this now? Fork, what???" No time for that, they'll just default to buying Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Cash has been with us since Aug only so still in its infancy. However, I doubt if they can gain traction around the crypto enthusiast. Specially that we know that's its a total clone of the original Bitcoin. It is consider as an alt so its better to compete with Etherium or LTC and not be compare to the original.

As the title says that bitcoin is dead, I don't think so, its already recovered from all the bloodshed this past couple of weeks so the OP is wrong in his assumption.
8795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guess What? JPMorgan on: September 16, 2017, 07:36:24 AM
Ha! Unbelievable. Talk about fraud...

It's funny because we're all thinking the same thing: Jamie Dimon is shady as hell and was making sure that Chase could get in cheap! But at the same time, we all know that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies aren't securities. They don't pass the Howey Test. They have no "issuer." Insider trading applies to a public company's stock or other securities (like bonds or stock options).

So there was no crime here, even though we all know that's effectively what happened. He knew what kind of effect his words could have. And very few people knew what he was going to say that day.

Exactly, as much as it is a fraudulent in nature, there is no crime. I guess he really took advantage of his influence to stir the market and when the buying point is good and all conditions meet, they started to buy massive volumes of bitcoin. Its total manipulation and deceitful on his part. Yeah, I agree it smart move for a personality who possesses so much leverage to the market.
8796  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: September 16, 2017, 07:18:45 AM
I read a lot of posts on the forum and in chats from beginners who panicked and sold their coins. They were losing money, but they were still selling. I do not understand why they did this.
Crypto currency must be trusted and bitcoin should not be sold for several years. You need to be prepared for the fact that there will be many more falls

Noobs always get burnt & end up losing loads of money because they don't have the balls to ride the wave.
I guess they can put it down to character building & maybe pick themselves up & go again

And just like all of you guys are telling, weak hands have been shaken. So once more, a painful lessons for newbies who panic during the crash and instead of hodling and buy, they panic choosing to get out with losses. And now that the price have recovered, newbies are nowhere to be found because you advise them but they didn't listen and now regretting this decision to sold.
8797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Once again,BTC is back on: September 16, 2017, 06:27:43 AM
I thought the crash happened, but now it seems more like one of those long bumpy spots and will eventually rise back up to over $5,000.

The is still going strong after we see the price going to $2900. Now the price is going $3900 already. Yes, this few bumps along the way needs to overcome before finally stopping at $5000 again. However, we still need to see what's going on the next couple of days. China is still not done with their dumping I assume, so expect the unexpected, maybe the price is sustainable or not, so just be cautious and not to get too excited.
8798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 16, 2017, 06:03:49 AM
2016/17 nba season for me the power house golden states warrios.with adition of kevin durant i think no one team beat the gsw.i think next season gsw is the power house team
Well cavs might have a chance now after the addition of several names which will favored lebron to take the charge but I guess still the big time powerhouse gsw will dominate the west and the chemistry that put them together would make some difficulty again against the cavs who's trying to build another super team.
In overall still the warriors are the heavy favorites because they are proven to be a good team, even before when the Cavaliers got the championship they are still not favored to win the championship. Cavaliers has too many players to step up now so I think they have a best value for bettors like us, I would love to bet on the cavaliers in the NBA Finals as I am sure they will easily dominate the east.

Yes, the would still the favorite this coming season not only as defending champion but the line up are still pretty solid. And each player understand its role, like Curry, stepping out and giving Kevin Durant his time to shine in the NBA finals resulting to a finals NBA trophy and the championship. They have set the bar high, every other team needs to catch up with them.
8799  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What happened ? on: September 16, 2017, 05:43:46 AM
This is the characteristic of bitcoin. sometimes it goes up and sometimes goes down, however be patient my dear friend , sooner it will recover . Its all about supply vs. demand , At this moment, there's abundance in supply compared to demand makes its value to go drop. but remember the popularity rate of bitcoins are soaring high ,It means there's a big chance to get back to the top.

I think we can all relaxed now as bitcoin as already recovered almost touch $3900. It kinda amazing just 24 hours ago a lot of doomsayers saying that bitcoin will fall to $2000. But lo and behold, for whatever reasons, investors suddenly pour cash again after seeing the price floor at $2900. I think this is the buying point that most of them are looking for, bitcoin flooring below $3000. Then the rest is history. Let's wait if this is sustainable and see if it goes to $4000 again.
