881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 07, 2023, 11:39:21 PM
Very few of the students take the right decision when it comes to investment. What Op have done is really appreciable. The best part he himself have decided to go with it avoiding the deposits into banks and other investments. Surely he'll enjoy the goodness of bitcoin investment in the long run. In most of the countries the legality of bitcoin isn't officially announced. Each and everyone use it believing that the country takes the positive stand. Nothing to worry about the country OP reside, just continue to do the best investing regularly and spread the word about it.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: May 06, 2023, 10:38:24 PM
-cut-
Gambling is not a business, and neither should you ever take it as a day job, in reference to this thread - it is likely impossible to make a consistent winning from gambling, there are day you win, even much more than $100, and there are days you will lose it all, to make a consistent $100 or more every day in gambling is a mirage, wishful thinking that might never happen.

Feel free to chip in your contribution.
Long time ago i heard a story from an old gambler. He told that right at the start of his gambling "career" he won a huge jackpot. I thought to myself that maybe i would be that lucky some day, but he stared at me and said that at the time he didn't realize that it would be his biggest loss.

What he meant by that was that now there was a seed in his head that this would be possible for him to recreate by gambling so he kept on gambling and never got the jackpot again. We don't understand very low odds not to mention 1:10M odds. And when we are not happy and quit after getting filthy rich, we are never going to quit. So the guy was in loss already after gambling high stakes after it, and when you have a seed in your head about some huge win and how that's possible to achieve, you keep on reaching it again when you should count your blessings instead.

Gambling is for fun, not for living.
There are people who understands well about gambling and have plans accordingly. Most of the gamblers have similar mentality to win big. Human minds never gets satisfied and the same is being utilised. Whether the winning is big or small we should enjoy it than focusing on something specific. It isn't a career or a dream to run behind. As the final statement says, Gambling is for fun and not for living.

Almost everyone could've had similar incident. I entered just with $1000 with the eager to multiply it to $2000. Lost it on the same day and I was able to make it $5000 the same day with another $1000. This made my day and from there I've been losing. I don't know, whether it is happening normally or for some reason. But, these things drive more people towards gambling and loss big money.
883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: May 06, 2023, 10:18:19 PM
~snip~
With the presence of the new coach Al Nassr, in three matches, only got 1 win and 2 defeats. Dinko Jelicic has not been able to maximize the game of Al Nassr's players. For now, they are only 3 points away from Al Ittihad. I think it is unlikely that Al Nassr will be able to lift a trophy this season even though they have brought in their new coach.

Both Al Nassr and Al Ittihad still have tough matches in the remaining matches this season. so we're talking a pretty tough team, Al Shabab is one team that can stop them from getting full points. so, like it or not, their new coach must have a formula to bring his team to wipe out all the remaining matches with a win.

On the other hand, Al Ittihad still has a tough match that will travel to Al Hilal's headquarters. in this match, Al Ittihad could have lost full points, or fallen from the home team. that means, Al Ittihad gave Al Nassr the opportunity to shift their ranking on the standings board. however, if the opposite happens. With that, Al Ittihad can confirm winning the Saudi Pro League trophy this season.

But for sure, there are still 5 games remaining. that means, opportunities are always open for Al Nassr. unfortunately, they should expect Al Ittihad to slip up in his few bouts. after that, Al Nassr has the opportunity to win the league trophy. but with the condition, win all the rest of his fight. the point is, this competition is still interesting for us to follow until it's over.
Both the teams have got good opportunity. Team to win the highest will lift the trophy and the losing team miss it. By this time if the league have got a match between Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, this could've been very interesting. Earlier it was Al-Ittihad to win against Al-Nassr, and now things can be in favour of Al-Nassr.

Winning and lifting the trophy is different from depending on the opponent for the trophy. Al-Ittihad is at a better position than Al-Nassr and this shows Al-Nassr wants continuous win and the loss of Al-Ittihad. For now we can't be conclusive, tomorrow's match of Al-Nassr says the result of Saudi Arabia Pro League to some margin.
884  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 06, 2023, 10:07:59 PM
Most of the people from the third world country have got such plans moving abroad for better life. In most of the cases the pre-plan could've taken place long back and the process ends in a smooth way. In the past it is not that difficult, now with the increasing number of people moving abroad this too is difficult. Recently my friend tried and she is completely down, because what she had learnt isn't recognised in the specific country and she needs to pursue some course and give examination. That itself costs much and the same had made her drop the plan. Different obstacles need to be crossed to lead peaceful life. For now I've got plans, initially need to arrange funds and further need to proceed. Maybe by 2025 it can come true  Cheesy
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin from 2009 on: May 06, 2023, 09:58:01 PM
It looks like he's one among the early investor on bitcoin. The white paper got published on 2008 and came to usage during the year 2009. Op have bought it on the same year, almost 14 years passed and now he had remembered the buying. Anyhow its ones own ability to search and find. As most people have suggested, lost the key and it's lost forever. It is his sole right to go find it same as what an IT guy have been doing with some agreement with the city council to search the trash dump for three years spending $11m.

The quest to find $181 million in bitcoin buried in a dump
886  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Rip localbitcoins.com on: May 06, 2023, 09:42:27 PM
I have never used this platform before and I don't know how they work.
What was the main reason of their closure after 10 years of service, there are several platform that have also lasted enough and closing their operation shows what?
Incapability or what?
I've been using it for atleast eight years. I encountered with some issues at the beginning and lost fund, which was due to my mistake. Later I have been using it till its closure and never faced any issues. It is a platform through which one can find the right person to buy/sell bitcoin with ease. Earlier it had face to face trading access, through which buyer and seller agree to meet-up at some location and exchange the bitcoin for cash. This has been blocked for security reason. Over the year its performance came down drastically and it is one among the licenced platform. It's average trading volume of $40 million dropped down to the range of $6-$7.5 million which is a big blow. With that they tried to sustain in the market and unable to increase. This has been cited as the reason for the closure.
887  Other / Off-topic / Re: Prepare for the life when you get old on: May 05, 2023, 11:51:48 PM
After certain age people turn to be dependent on their kids or the close ones for their financial needs as well as for their mental support. In my country there is a saying aged people turn to be kids after specific age and they should also be cared same as one cares a child. Another thing is the health condition, earlier even the aged ones stay healthy and now scenario is different.

For many other reasons aged people need to have some pension fund or retirement fund kept aside to meet all the future needs. Atleast going through OP users will think of it start working on it. Beyond certain age the opportunities shrinks. So, when we have got possibilities we need to make use of it and keep everything organised for the future.
888  Economy / Economics / Re: Have a Income? Invest in Crypto or Not? Let's think realistically on: May 05, 2023, 11:44:46 PM
Investing in cryptocurrencies is quite a risky venture due to the fact that cryptocurrencies are currently little accepted. If a project looks stable enough, it does not mean that it will be in demand. It is difficult to define the criteria for a successful project. Luck play a big role here. Although luck loves the brave.
When you have got the ability to fulfill your daily needs and save specific amount regularly there is nothing to think about luck. With cryptocurrency luck needs to be considered when you're in need of immediate need of money and the market is at its down turn. If you got the patience or the separate emergency fund to meet unexpected needs it is easier to relay on the holding than on luck.

Compared to the past years the acceptance level and the legality to use cryptocurrency around the countries have grown high over time. So, we doesn't need to think of the acceptance. It takes time for people to get adopted to it. Even the country where bitcoin is a legal tender finds it difficult to use it due to lack of proper awareness.
889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: tips for profitable investment in bitcoin on: May 05, 2023, 11:26:06 PM
When there is good there'll also be bad. So it is obvious to see people who are in favour of bitcoin as well as people who anti-bitcoiners. It is upto their understanding and the experience that makes them go in favour as well as against the innovation.

Along with all the mentioned suggestions it is a must that you go with your own decisions. You've got good number of choice to make use of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, one shouldn't limit themselves with holding, people should try to find and utilise all opportunities. This gives better understanding as well as gives positive hopes on using cryptocurrency.

Never look upon the charts when your plan is long term holding, because looking the charts will let you think of different factors that are moving the market. Just believe and go forward investing regularly with atleast a small amount.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODLing Bitcoin isn't merely an "investment" on: May 05, 2023, 08:05:13 AM
Whether it is political or not is secondary. For now the holdings belongs to a person and they've got the rights to do what they prefer. My choice is just hold and spend when required. Some might be focusing on long term holding with specific timeline, there are users who buy bitcoin for gambling needs. Different purposes were getting fulfilled, so surely there's political move and the same isn't gonna cause any changes to the market due to the technology over which it function.

I have a thinking bitcoin might've got emerged out of some political connection. We don't know the exact reason, everything is being assumed. I believe there is someone close to Satoshi or Satoshi himself got hurt by the monetary system at some point and tossed the blockchain technology. Each and everything in one way or the other have political connect.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: May 05, 2023, 07:06:37 AM
Who knows who will win? Let's wait for the test match to start first. Grin

Rohit Sharma has already lost his form which is more concerning. I guess if he gets injured, the selectors have to completely restructure the team. I am waiting for the BCCI to come up with a replacement.

About Jaydev Unadkat they are saying that he might be fit by that time. If he is not then I think looking at his present performance in the IPL Ishant Sharma can replace him.

For KL Rahul I expect out of these four players one might get this golden opportunity. Ishan Kishan, Rituraj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan & Vihari. I have major doubts about Sarfaraz Khan looking at his present performance but Bengal Cricket Board has been lobbying hard for this guy and Dada too.

The biggest blow for India is going to be the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. None of the bowlers listed here can match him in pace. Shami and Siraj are much slower and the latter is far more inconsistent when compared with Bumrah. I am happy about the spin options. The good thing about the spin trio (Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar Patel) is that all of them can bat in middle order. One of my concerns is regarding the wicket-keeper. KS Bharat is quite inexperienced and he may struggle in overseas conditions with his batting.
For a long Bharat have been added to the test squad as a replacement for Wriddhiman Saha. Finally this year he made his debut debut against Australia. As said he hasn't got overseas experience. Anyhow he is the pick and he needs to perform to get his name added to the upcoming matches. Absence of Bumrah is a big drawback for India, however it is possible to manage with Shami and Siraj, as the spin unit good to play overseas matches. The team having the spinners with batting ability is an advantage, as they can manage depending upon the performance between the bowling and batting.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There are many advantages to the relationship between gambling and Bitcoin. on: May 05, 2023, 03:11:37 AM
Gambling is illegal in several countries. Countries were online gambling and physical casinos were banned can make use of the cryptocurrency accepted gambling sites. Few gambling platforms gives access to play without any account. The transaction can be easily tracked and chance of errors were low. People who prefer cent percent privacy can enjoy gambling, in different means advantages are there. However it all depends on how well we use it. Gambling platforms have given access for investing which too an advantage.

SRH should have won the game after coming so close to the target. KKR hopes for next round are once again alive. With one exception KKR wins are mostly against weak teams of the tournament. So there is rear chance that they can make it to next round.
For the most part i expected SRH to win the match but Varun Chakravarthy changed the match upside down from the 16th over by giving away just 4 runs and due to that in the very next over they lost Markram due to the pressure it created and then another tight over by Varun in the 18th over where he gave away just 5 runs and they lost another wicket in the second last over and another great final over by Varun.
Myself too had the same thought. At the end of 15th over SRH were 134/5. Varun changed the match, in the 16th over Marakram faced 3 balls and scored 2 runs. He shouldn't have got pressured, because the required run isn't that big. SRH needs another 34 runs in the next 24 balls. One over is enough to take the match into their side. Unwanted wicket have costed them loss the match. Really great bowling, spin bowling at the depth overs in T20 isn't easy thing with pressure on both the sides.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: May 05, 2023, 02:20:34 AM
With the ODI world cup just a few months away, Pakistani player Imam-ul-Haq has warned the PCB against further experiments with the players. He wants the PCB to finalize the middle order, which has been a big worry for Pakistan since the last few years. According to him, Agha Salman, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz are best suited for the role, while the PCB wants to give opportunities to Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Haris. Anyway, if Pakistan wants to lift trophy this time, then they not only need to work hard on middle order batting, but also on spin bowling department.
Middle order batsman and spin bowling for Pakistan is still underway. No perfect fit for the position. Atleast the team should've taken the step earlier and trained a player than experimenting the person for the position. Haris Sohail and Salman Agha were the pick for the moment. Pakistan seems to concentrate much on Fast bowling, inbetween it had good all rounders like Shoaib Malik. Now strong players that perform on bowling, if they didn't contribute good with batting isn't available in the Pakistan team.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE VIEW OF SOME PEOPLE OVER BITCOIN on: May 03, 2023, 11:59:33 PM
Some people don't see Bitcoin as a normal currency and think it's too risky because its value can change a lot. They also worry that it's used by criminals for illegal activities like money laundering. However, other people think Bitcoin is amazing because it's different from traditional currencies and could change how we use money. Nobody knows for sure what will happen to Bitcoin in the future, but people are still talking about it and interested in it.
You are correct, there are individuals who are skeptical about Bitcoin and view it as a high-risk investment due to its volatility and association with illegal activities such as money laundering.

However, there are also those who recognize Bitcoin's potential to revolutionize the financial industry and believe in its decentralized nature. The fact that Bitcoin is not controlled by a central authority and its transactions are secured using encryption technology is a major appeal to some people.
First of all those are people who doesn't believe anything other than fiat money. First of all they want the currency to have the paper apperance and want to feel its physical presence. They never think the advancement happening around, they stick to the old days.

Part of people who have well understood the reality and the need for technology is the reason for the success. At times the influencers try to make some impact over the market. Those used to happen to some extent, beyond which it is the market that function on its own.
896  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you ready to spend crypto when market is down on: May 03, 2023, 11:54:30 PM
My choice completely depends on the necessity and not on the price. So, if I find the necessity of spending then surely I'll go for it. Rather than waiting for the time period to reach high in price, it is good to spend when required. We don't know what'll be the situation of us as well as the market tomorrow.
897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The purchase Bitcoin during its early stages. on: May 03, 2023, 11:36:39 PM
When I came to know about bitcoin for the very first time I believed without reason. I shared the same thing with my sister and requested her to buy it selling some gold or other bonds. Same is with one of my friend, I suggested to buy and they ignored. Now they used to say as the growth that have happened from the time I've requested is atleast 100X
898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we help to Bitcoin education? on: May 03, 2023, 11:23:27 PM
Whether we help spread awareness or not, bitcoin will still shine through even if we don't touch them, it's just only that people are still not ready on how the technology works and omly certain countries are willing to accept the risks included on it. Just like how AI was only a pigment of our imagination decades ago, and now look at where we are today.
Yeah I guess you are correct but its nice for us to actually spread the awareness for the public then its OK to further teach anyone who shows interest in what you are doing, you must not force it bitcoin is optional and if only is any willing before I will volunteer to give them the basics which is involve in using this wonderful technology. I agree that some people are not to accept or even know about bitcoin but you can't generalised this term to actually every one in the society or your local community.
Spreading awareness on bitcoin is really a needed. Whether the country support its usage or not is secondary. Next thing is the value of bitcoin and the usage from common people. People are much in need of technology in the financial system. With time the money value keeps falling whereas bitcoin is not. When we explain the goodness automatically people will prefer to use atleast as an investment. Even now majority of the countries haven't announced the legal status of their country on bitcoin usage, just on personal preference people continue to use.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Premier League #IPL on: May 02, 2023, 11:56:38 PM
We got a chance to enjoy a wonderful match. Delhi Capitals beat a strong team like Gujarat. I would say it was an unexpected win for Delhi. Because Gujarat Titans were undoubtedly the favorite team in this match.
Absolutely right, Gujrat were consider one of Thier favorite team for this IPL trophy due to thier current phenomenal performance and standing on league table. No doubt Delhi has one of his worst season ever but still I believe they will scored a lot, but just like they start it was totally horrible, but some how through Thier opener half century they manage to score a target which can be defendable.
Tonight Gujrat were totally off Color against the Delhi weak bowling lineup and lose every important wicket, the only man pandya fought hard but match can be win on the behalf of single man performance so due to that reason they lose the match..
Pandya used to perform in each and every match. He tried his best to stand wicket and did it, but the other side lost wickets continuously. Looking the target it looked like an easy win for Gujarat Titans, but everything went on the unexpected way same as we saw the match between RCB and LSG. Nortje used to be the best bowling figure for Delhi Capitals, but in the last two matches he was little expensive in his economy. Anyhow a big win for the team in the bottom of the table against the table leader.

It is his money and he is supposed to take the decision. We need to help him with different choices available. Whether the investment is huge or low when we suggest and if the same wasn't able to provide good profit then this could hurt us. Many such incidents have taken place in real life and even you and me could've experienced it. What's the need of such kind of hurting. So, let them learn, understand and further choose from the available list.
