881  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 16, 2023, 05:47:53 AM
I see poverty as the inability to provide what you need. So when people assume that poverty is when you don't have money I don't agree. Now what if you have all you need and you don't require money to buy anything, are you poor? Some people live in communities where everyone lives agrarian life. They have all they need because everything they need to survive is available. Food is on the farm, water available and everybody is happy. Although it was hard during the Covid-19 lockdown many people lived without money. I have also seen many people leaving cities and moving to rural areas to live a natural life.

In summary when you have everything you need to survive and you don't need money, are you poor?
It depends. Having no money doesn't necessarily mean you are poor. In general if you have no money and no assets or anything that has value, no stable job and struggling to survive each day then you can categorize your situation as poor in every aspect.

On the other side, Just like in your example, In rural areas where some people are living with sufficient food and everything they need is already available, they can live without problem even without money. Because they have lands to plant, that's a valuable property that they can sell to have cash if needed. In this situation, yes they have no money but they have property in possession that has value. Hence, it depends on your status in life and the place where you're living.

882  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin continue to rise on: June 16, 2023, 02:08:24 AM
Today there is a correction that is around 3% and makes the price drop below $ 25k, of course many are worried that the price will continue to drop and below $ 20k, this proves that the strategy to sell immediately when a profit is at least 10% is the best way, We see whether Bitcoin can return to $ 30K this month or not.
Well, if you're a short term hodler you can do this strategy (sell already) if there's a decent increase in Bitcoin, so you won't regret not selling if the price move downward. Taking advantage the increase is ideal for investors who can't wait longer because there's still a chance to buy back once the price is declining.

However for investors who prefer to hold for long period, the current situation is not bothering them since they have set target when to sell their Bitcoin. The advantage is, less stress and worries though you need to be patient to be able to hold for long period. Anyway the future is uncertain so we must be prepared for the result of our investment (either positive or negative) since it's not 100% guaranteed.
883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 15, 2023, 06:51:44 AM
You also don't have control in trading over what the outcome could be. It's always going to be according to luck, and according to your decision, you will know what would be the best thing. I think you could prepare a lot of things when trading, but in gambling, you just have to play, making it possible to play and not think so much.
But in trading it's not entirely relying on luck since knowledge is your edge to make a right decision based on your analysis and understanding about the market and the coins that you'll going to trade. Hence, you can maximize the possibility to profit and it's not because you just blindly buy but you have knowledge about it.

While on gambling, you have no control on the game play. Hence there's no way you can influence the result of the certain game because it's solely relying on luck unless you're playing a skill-based games like sports betting. Anyway trading and gambling are both risky and that's their similarity.
884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A portion of my clothing store's weekly profit is invested in Bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 03:24:03 AM
I have a small cloth shop. Currently everything in my own country is very expensive, so we are facing many problems in our life. The shop I have used to sell well. But now due to the increase in price, there are not as many customers or sales as before. Again. On top of that I have to pay rent for the shop which has become a bit difficult for me. After entering this platform I got to know Bitcoin. Then after browsing many places I realized that I can earn money by investing in Bitcoin. So I want to invest in Bitcoin. So I have my weekly I decided to invest in bitcoin from a profit share. I think I made the right decision. I hope that I can use my bitcoin profit for other purposes. Hope you guys can help me with good advice.
It's a wise decision to invest a part of your profit from business to Bitcoin because there's a potential to gain from it. However, are you already aware of the risk? Bitcoin is high volatile, some of the disadvantage is, it can plunge unexpectedly and the process to recover back might take longer. The reason why an investor must have a long patience to not be tempted to sell for being discourage to keep holding.

Thus, before you start investing make sure that you already fill your mind with knowledge about Bitcoin to know the things that you can expect along the way. This can help you to understand it well before engaging yourself.
885  Local / Pilipinas / Re: T-Shirt Business For Bitcoin Adoption Profitable Ba on: June 15, 2023, 01:05:59 AM
Siguro is wag focus lang sa Bitcoin ang pag gawa ng T-shirt tsaka alam naman natin na hindi pa gaano kilala ng mga tao ang pag gamit ng bitcoin at ano nga ba ang bitcoin still ideal if theres a bitcoin print and ideal pa din ung may clothing line ka talaga for example ung mga target audience mo is pang bata so sure cartoons, pang binata ung mga plain you can use the references like the Penshopee and Uniqlo maganda din ang mga ito tsaka kana gumawa ng bitcoin additional prints para naman di lang focus bitcoin maganda padin cashflow mo IMHO lang.
Agree.

886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Committed Suicide After Losing School fees, And That Of Friend To Betting.. on: June 14, 2023, 08:31:34 AM
That's right and it is also undeniable that the country's economy is having a boost because of the gambling industry, it's just that the effects towards the people are unbearable because not everyone who gambles towards it have the right mindset beforehand or at least got a decent goal so that they can avoid burying their feet even if they are still alive.

The story of a 22 year old boy might be unfortunate because he is also a victim of gambling but we cannot really do something about it as it was his own decision in the first place that pushed him and made him to commit suicide. I just cannot imagine what the boy had experience beforehand because he sees no other way.

First and foremost, the most basic rule of gambling is - risk only as much as you can afford to lose. If you ever break this rule, in all probability you will end up ruined. This particular incident is not an isolated one. I have seen some of my friends taking out loans from others, in order to gamble. And it is not just gambling in casinos. Some people take out loans in order to make high-risk investments. It is also a form of gambling. Sometimes, it works out for them. But in a majority of the cases, it doesn't and the individual ends up with very few choices.
That's right. However, some gamblers can't follow this basic rule because of high expectation. I know a gambler who became addicted in gambling because of his belief that he can win huge like those players from the ads he saw who managed to hit a jackpot. At first he's only playing using small amount and with discipline, but that change after few weeks of playing because he's already using half os his day job salary. This is an example of a gambler who have no control and already spending the money that he can't afford to lose. There are many stories similar in op, that's the effect of gambling to those who can't handle gambling and tend to do bad things just to sustain their addiction.
887  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: June 14, 2023, 05:37:25 AM
If there's nothing on the line then it's not gambling.
Sure mate, what make is a gamble is when there is a stake on the line, this is what most people done to understand and they think that just getting involved in games is all gambling and that is not true because there is nogamblingsf nothing to lose, quite alright we can spend our time in playing game like ludo cheese and I'm the rest but we can't gamble with time, we only gamble by staking money so without money there is indeed no gambling.
Hmm but I beg the differ on this, because I have come to realize this afternoon when I was playing some card games with my wife that  gamble can still be done without staking cash but a challenge would somehow replace it. Like the game we played, we had to bet that anyone who losses would have to cook evening food for the whole week for the other partner and we began the card games and luckily for I came out victorious and she had to succum to it but it was really not much of any difference since she is still the one taking care of that aspect Grin
Well for me it can't be considered as gambling because nothing is at stake if ever you lose, it's just a friendly bet, more on a challenge as you've said. I also tried this kind of challenge with my sister, instead of money we're betting on who's the one who will do the household chores through playing chess. Unfortunately I always lose because my sister is quite good in it, back on the days gadgets and having an internet are not yet popular. Anyway, it's been said many times here, when there's no money or valuable things are at stake, it's not gambling.

888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 14, 2023, 03:02:22 AM
Although I still studied, I invested a small amount in Bitcoin. I will get married if I get a good job. Many people give many things to their wives as wedding gifts, I have a different plan. I am planning to gift bitcoin to my wife on her wedding day. Bitcoin is still illegal in my country so I invested with caution. On my wedding day I want to gift half of my investment to my wife.
Should I gift bitcoin to my wife? I want your advice
Is your future wife aware of Bitcoin? Do you think she will be happy if you gave her Bitcoin as gift?
You're the one who can answer these questions and if the answer is yes then I think she will be happy.

But as a woman, usually we prefer a girly gifts (as others mentioned already). If I were to choose I'd like a set of jewelries however since i'm also a bitcoiner and knows its value, of course I would be happy to receive Bitcoin. Anyway as her fiance, you know her personality better than anyone else and that can give you an idea on what might she prefer to receive.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 10:32:04 AM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?
Well this is hard because you already win huge. The thought that you can win again will always hunt your mind since you already experience it. But I think it depends if that's your only goal, quitting is easy for gamblers who are already contented with their profit. But for gamblers who are hopeful to win once again that's not possible to quit even after winning a life changing amount.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.
Yes. That's the right thing to do actually. Never returning back is a wise decision to prevent losing the money you won. But it's easy to said than done, so again, it depends on the gambler. Smart gamblers knows what's the best thing to do in situation like this.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 13, 2023, 07:03:37 AM
People are saying that gambling is not good so nobody should involved themselves in it. Fathers/Mothers (parents) are shouting to their sons and sometimes beating them all because of gambling. If you are a gambler, the society sees you as a bad boy or person or a waste person in the family. Parents would be saying "look at your age mates, they are going to school and become a successful persons in the society, you are here playing gambling". They would even say, gamblers steal and thieves.
And really when you look at some of those boys they play Draft game morning till evening. Upon all these allegations against gambling. People are still Gambling. WHY? Is There Any Mystery Behind?
Some gamblers are just playing for fun to kill time while others are playing and hoping to win huge. Just shows that every gamblers are different and have their own reasons on why they gamble. Moreover, it's not surprising if some people are against gambling because of the negative effect for a player without control. However, not all gamblers are the same so it's not right to judge a person just because he/she is into gambling.

Anyway, as a parent, it's understandable if you want your child to stay away in gambling because of its negative effect. However if they're old enough and earning on their own, they're already aware of what's right or wrong so they can decide for themselves. The effect of gambling can be good/bad depending on how a player treat it and not because gambling is bad.
891  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Investment: Good Debts vs Bad Debts on: June 13, 2023, 04:03:49 AM
but whatever it is, if it's debt then we have to pay it at the right time. the problem is if we use debt to invest, will it be able to return on investment while we ourselves know we have to pay it at the right time plus the interest that has been agreed upon. well I think debt is not good, someone owes is due to a sudden need that is sure one day it will be able to return it.
I don't agree that debt is not good because it depends on the reason why we have to do it. Like the title says there are good and bad debts. If you're a wise person and would like to use the money to gain that would be better. As i've said before you need to have a back up plan just incase, so you're still able to pay your debt even you didn't gain from the investment where you spend the borrowed money. On the other side, asking for loan for your wants are the bad debts, but some people are not thinking if it's really worth it to take a loan just for this.

Well, probably even once in our lives we're also in a situation that we have to take a loan for a certain reason even we don't want to. But as long as you're not going to runaway and able to pay on time then it's fine. Just be responsible otherwise don't take a loan.
892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before investing on meme coin or shitcoins consider this. on: June 13, 2023, 12:48:39 AM
investing in memecoin is a very bad thought considering memecoin is not a good thing to invest in,
there is no technology, no product, and there is no great demand in the future,
so you will be in vain if you think about entering memecoin just following Fomo from people who want to profit themselves.
fair point i think only invest in meme coin when we can be sure we are among the earliest, moreover we also need to make some
observation and analysation in regard of the meme coin we gonna invested in, after all only very few meme coin gonna succeed.
Some investors prefer to take risk investing on meme coins rather than the established one because of big profit in a short period if you're one of the early investors before the price increase. However, since many meme coins are existing it's also hard to spot the one that has potential to skyrocket. That's why investing in meme coins are not always profitable and more risky, you can earn huge but you can lose your money as well.

Thus, choose the project with real use case rather than a coins without utility. Do an extensive research and don't rely with suggestions because some of them are just shilling a coin since they invested on it and just want to hype for their own benefit.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $90,000 all in bet on: June 12, 2023, 08:45:40 AM
UPDATE: A MISSED PENALTY AND A LOSS. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.
This is sad. Because you already turned your $4k to $90k that's a big achievement already. But you decided to go all in without hesitation for a bigger profit, unfortunately you didn't managed to win. Do you have regrets for what you did? Because it seems you're fine with what happened.

Sometimes we will only realize what we already have once it's already gone. If only a gambler is not greedy to ask for more, we can already enjoy the profit that's already in our hands.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: June 12, 2023, 06:11:16 AM
We all know that these casinos are doing business and none of them is running for charity purpose. The motive of the casino is to make money but at the same time they should also care about the people. If a casino is earning a lot and if they give some bonus to the customers, why not give it in a way that they can also take advantage of it and enjoy some money.
This is only possible if the wagering requirements are low. Good business model works where the customers are also given the facilities and not just the business owners or gambling site owners dominate and make money.

Trust me if a gambling sites will favor the gamblers with low wagering requirements, soon you will find all the gamblers shifted to that casino, giving them a really good business.
Indeed. It's understandable to have wagering requirements because casino is a business and it's just right to have such condition before we can withdraw. However, if the gamblers are seeing it as not fair because of high wagering, it can only discourage them to gamble because it's hard to fulfill, so they will just stay away. Obviously, it doesn't look good for the casino because gamblers might hesitate to play knowing their requirement before you can withdraw especially if you're just an average gambler.

Thus, if the casino do care to their gamblers they will not only think of what can benefit them but also take into consideration their players as well.
895  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Isa na namang Bitcoin negative publicity on: June 12, 2023, 03:40:56 AM
I want to hear your feedbacks tungkol dito mga kabayan! Negative publicity is still publicity parin ba?

896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: June 11, 2023, 11:13:19 AM
Don't dream too much of getting big wins; only think of gambling as fun. We will not be so eager to chase that win by thinking like that and the best thing is that we can manage our money to gamble and enjoy the moment of playing gambling.
That's how it should be but many gamblers are not treating gambling as a way to entertain themselves. We all want to gain huge but gambling is not the answer to achieve that because of the high risk. If some gamblers are lucky to hit a huge jackpot, other gamblers are losing their money and some of these are desperate to accumulate funds to sustain their gambling activity just like the story in the op.

If we gamble we need to accept the result, never chase your losses and quit as early as you can. Because if you became addicted it would be hard already to stop. So keep in mind to only gamble in moderation to avoid the negative effect of gambling.
897  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|🎉BetFury Affiliate Program is live| 💸Earn with RevShare up to 60% on: June 11, 2023, 06:54:46 AM

It is really not surprising to see a 40 consecutive losses especially in dice.  Even in slots which often gives small amount just to break the dead spin streak gives 30 plus consecutive dead spin (read streak) when we are spinning for too long.  I always experienced that scenario since I am the kind of slot player that seldom hop to different games and often ends up playing in a single slot game.

In slots having a lot of consecutive losses happens pretty frequently especially on high volatile games. On the in-house games like Dice or limbo or crash it can also happen but more rarely. The longest "bad" streak I saw was about 20-25 consecutive losses (luckily for myself I was not playing Martingale than or otherwise I would have busted my entire bankroll lol).

Not usual but it can happen, 40 red losing streaks are something that you can't imagine happening if you are the one who's playing, those who are using martingale system who hopes that they can recover their losses after winning their next bet would be empty if that long losing streak take place.

Though, if you experienced that long red losing bets for sure the aggressiveness inside you will lead you to lose more than your expected budget.
You're so unlucky if you experienced such and it might discourage you to play that particular game again. Well, I don't stay in games that giving me bad experience, the reason why i'm not a fan of slot. Fortunately on the game where I usually play (live games), I never encounter yet of having consecutive losses (20-40 like others have experienced already). But even so, the ending is still favor in the house as i'm often finishing my gambling time with losses.
898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 11, 2023, 04:39:27 AM
The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...
I experienced already to become addicted in gambling, this is few years back. I can say it's not really easy to stop. For me it's like an illness that is hard to cure if you don't seek for a professional help and of course if you don't help yourself. There should be willingness on your part in order to overcome the addiction. It's not going to happen overnight because there's a process and you can take it slowly, focus your mind on what you want to achieve.

In my case, aside from the support of family, the changes of the environment is a big help to divert my attention and to start a new beginning. I went on vacation to a countryside where there's no access of internet and no friends that can attract me to gamble. There should be an activities that can entertained you so you won't think of gambling again.

Another art contest from Roobet!
Check this one now and start thinking for the concept of your art.
It looks like Roobet and the whole team will start working on this every Month.  Grin
Those who missed the last contest have the chance now to participate, don’t miss this again.
Well, I think Roobet was ahead of what's coming that they advertise to be on decentraland. I think metaverse will come rocking again in the crypto sphere. If it's every month then these artists will surely love that, I'm trying to learn how to do some digital arts but it's really not that easy especially if you haven't had the tools, my laptop is kinda laggy and it's not good for use with the like of Adobe products. I think you JohnyZ will grab some cash again with your arts, I love those little sculptures of yours.

Just saw the announcement in Service section and I am happy that Roobet continues to surprise every artist on the forum with their rewarding contests. I’m in love with the art contest and always keep waiting for it. However I did not participate in the last one as I wanted to give a break from the contest. My pencil artwork isn’t something that can represent every theme since it’s really tiny space.

I tried for every contest though but somehow it’s not for me. I’m not even sure about the current contest which is more or less metaverse which means it would need more space that cant fit on pencil TIP.

Excited to see how others do with it. All the best guys.
Yes I noticed that you didn't participate on the last contest. Your artwork is one of what I always look forward because it is something unique for me. It's not really easy especially you're carving on pencil which is quite small, BTW my uncle is a wood worker too (and also tried to join using his art before) so I know the effort and time you spent to create the best one.

Anyway, there's another contest now and plenty of time to create an entry. It's been a while since I last won but it doesn't discourage me to try again. So see you all on the next one, best of luck to all who will participate.

Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year One Online and Offline
In one year? No. But I sometimes checked my previous wager (in online casino) to see how much money I lost already. It doesn't mean i'm regretting my decision that I gamble since it's not that much, but more on thinking how many times I won because it's rare.

So I stopped counting my losses and just minimize my betting I just tried to be happy on the thought that I have good times betting and I enjoy the thrill.
IMO it's not good to count your losses and think of what you can buy at the price if you didn't use it to gamble. It happened already so don't dwell on the past because it can only make you feel depress and later have regrets. Hence, if you play, it would be best to not track your losses and just focus on the present. Just make sure that you're not playing with the amount that you can't afford to lose, so it's not hard to accept the reality of experiencing losses because that's likely to happen if you gamble your money.
