My initial thought is that Biden is ok: The protocols at the debate were strong and oddly enough Trump would demand protections as he is a germophile.

However Trump did make a mistake by allowing his cum dumpster to get close to him. Or maybe frenching a Proud Boy, possible as well. These things do happen....

Interesting to wake up this morning to news like that. Guess even the Presidential "Bubble" didn't keep it out.

Now we get to see what happens when reality invades this little bubble. Good chance he will be fine. Possible chance very sick. Small chance he will be in a coma or ventilator. Which will make for some interesting decisions.

Hm.

I'm testing the new cryptowatch desktop app and I'm pretty impressed. It's available for Windows, OS X and Linux : https://cryptowat.ch/apps/desktop

I have an early access invite code to give away. Just reply to this message and I will send the code to the first person who is interested.
Interesting. If you get another one let me know. Thanks!

*yawn*

Fixin' to make some popcorn and watch the first debate tonight.

disgonbgud.gif

America is one messed up country right now, yo.

I couldn't sleep so watching this debate at 3 o'clock in the morning, lol.

Biden's mind is not fit enough to have high lvl of debate he's getting to old, not that Trump is a genius either.

Mudfight with a lot of promises, like it happend with all political debates.

Trump will win this election and shits out his voters laters on although i hope Biden wins.

This is a complete joke. Someone needs to pull Trump's mike.

I'm seriously considering my options if Trump wins.

You get a patch for flying an RC airplane? Sad.

Again, you are reading from the history books = bullshit  Smiley

Again, what are your sources?
Aliens

Also worth mentioning is the ancient Greeks' methods of perspective correction when designing their monuments. It's amazing that such methods were used at that period of time. It screams "high-tech", even by today's standards!

https://www.architecturerevived.com/how-greek-temples-correct-visual-distortion/
Once again, they made a lot of clunks that looked like shit at a distance. This led them to design in the perpsective POV so people would pay them money to build buildings. The best ones are still around.

Interesting stuff, but no aliens needed.
908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 27, 2020, 01:48:39 PM
That's Machu Picchu, and it's not that old.

Notre-Dame de Paris is centuries older than that, believe it or not.

Hagia Sophia is like 1000 years older.
(More stuff)

Keep in mind the only reason we see these buildings is because they are still around. They were found to be "beautiful" and didn't collapse over time. For every one of these examples there is 1000+ failures that are erased forever.

So you do have a self selection bias. Add to that weathering (things round over time), compression (things like rocks can mold into a shape over time) and just plain luck and you have the ancient aliens stuff.

Imagine what will survive from our culture for 10,000 years. Stainless steel butt plugs and dildos. Maybe they will think they are god-images.

Maybe they are.

I don't even trust my laptop's camera. It's usually covered in black tape.

Same here. As well as the front facing selfie cam on my phone. And phones get stored in another room out of earshot for 90% of the day.

Honestly, anyone who willingly purchases and brings these 'eyes and ears' spy devices into their home deserves to be surveilled. They will watch and listen to everything you do and say without your consent.
The big question is how to hack them so they only talk to your own personal servers. Not cloud shit, a unix box on your home network.

That way you get a really interesting and cheap platform. But step #1 has to be a lobotomy.

Zuckerberg does it for the money and the pussy the money gets him. He does not have political agenda other than he is allowed to make a shit ton of money so he can keep his wife.

Jullian is harder to figure. Still working on it.

Indeed. And that's what concerns me: I like to know who is paying for the people trying to steal my stuff. Zuck is a simple money oriented loser. Asange is more worrying.

Ah well.

Both do it to promote particular political agendas. Go figure.

Fingers crossed they will not open all of them otherwise all those curses of the high priests/pharohs will not make 2021 a great year. Tongue

Open em now, get it all over with.
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card counting in black jack on: September 07, 2020, 12:34:11 PM
Just as a side note: When walking up to a blackjack table, always read what is on the felt. Card counting may lower the house advantage by -1% vs. playing with the optimal basic strategy will result in a house edge of .46%.

However, something as simple as "Blackjack pays 6/5" plus perfect strategy will set the house edge at 1.82%. That's 4 times as much loss per hour as a "Blackjack pays 3/2". Add in other rule changes like "Dealer must hit soft 17" and "double on 10/11 only" will raise the house edge to 2.32%. This will swamp even card counting.

This is why those tables are usually the ones with fake strippers on poles next to them. Those strippers are powered by money, and all the lights/etc are run on money as well. Even on a straight table you're talking a profit of $50 an hour (before taxes) with $100 base bets and a $10,000 stash to the table. Worth it? Eh.....

If I want to go to casinos and have "fun" or hang around with people I will play don't pass/don't come on craps with a per roll house edge of .40%. Plus it keeps the table and the casino honest, as loading the dice will seriously affect the payouts for the donts. (This is why craps is a game that doesn't tolerate house cheating, if the house cheats then the donts will rob them blind) But yes, you will lose over time because those lights won't pay for themselves....

Your mileage may vary.....

A bit to see surprised I made lightfoot's list, but hey, people gotta do what they gotta do. Don't have any issues with the fellow at all.
Not at all Bob. I think there was a time you were flaming a bit and I tossed you on to quiet stuff down. Lately when you post I just read it (like now), I'll update. :-)

Money wont change the essence of the person, at best/worst it will amplify it.

If someone is already an asshole, in all likelihood they just become a rich asshole.

(that was quote I heard on here pre-2013 btw)
Indeed. People go on about how "power corrupts" but to be honest,

"power reveals".

It simply reveals the kind of person that was always there, doesn't change anything about them.

Something to always keep in mind.

1. Make some of your biggest dreams come true.
2. Otherwise continue to live your life "normal"*

*maybe to new living standards, though.

I'd get some land, a stable and some horses, a small skatepark and independent energy source(s) for my home, maybe a foreign place for holiday and run/hide purposes.
No supercar(s), no castles, no seasteads, no bling, no hos, no blow. Wait... a garden of weeden, maybe. yeah, i guess  Grin

I think one thing that sinks lottery winners is that it the total cost of ownership of any item far exceeds the mere purchase price. Big houses cost a lot of money over time for upkeep/maintenance, as do Lambos. Rich people budget for this, flash rich people buy big houses for their family members then start getting hit up for repairs, maintenance, etc. Or they buy a "business" that needs a lot of capital that you shovel in because.... well you bought it.

Something to think about.
