901  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will break $200 again on: September 05, 2015, 02:44:45 PM
If we are already at 231 and holding pretty solid, we only need to get past September and October and we'll start seeing some gains, but contrary to popular belief I hope this is not the case. I need an entire year of a low BTC to collect as much as possible before the inevitable trip to mars that will never come back to earth never again.
902  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Are Bitcoins Worth $70? on: September 05, 2015, 02:25:19 PM
The price will get a correction down to ~35USD/BTC. But in the long-term, if BTC were to stick as a widely-used international currency, I think we'll long for the days when it only cost 70USD.
Think about offshore banking and crime- I think that pretty soon they'll adopt BTC as a means of transferring large amounts of money and that will eventually lead to a much higher and stable exchange rate.

I think it will not go to 70 level but it reach that level. That will happen only if very bad news comes out on bitcoins.

Dude. Flashback Friday was yesterday. Get it!

It's flashback friday an actual thing? because there are a lot of good threads from years ago that are worth bumping as a reminder for newbies to see how wrong people was when people sold at ridiculous prices such as 15$. I remember a thread with a guy saying he was selling at that price and abandoning Bitcoin because it was "all over".
903  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: September 05, 2015, 02:23:13 PM
I think the fiat era is been over.

Most people are too drugged up on their own dellusions though and waiting for hope. Some people see things differently I understand but many are uneducated on what fiat money really is lol. So bitcoin users like us will profit pretty healthy.

Fiat will never be over as long as people and governments all around the world keep accepting it. I don't see people saying "no thanks, I don't want your dollars" anytime soon.

I see Bitcoin becoming huge tho, but it will take at least 1 to 2 more halvings, then we MUST reach 4 to 5 figures per Bitcoin, it's mathematically unavoidable if more fiat money enters the system (even 6 figures is possible with less than 1% of fiat inside the BTC ecosystem).
904  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: September 05, 2015, 02:18:06 PM
How to be rich? Buy Litecoin mega pump is coming. Whales buying a lot of LTC now.

Made me laugh for a second there. There's no better way to loose money than by following expected pumps, there's little profit there.
Even if you do turn out to make some profit by doing so, it wont get you rich, which was the topic of this thread anyways.
You have a much better chance to get rich by hodling something valuable like btc, if you don't mind the wait..

I joined  2 pump groups once but they both failed me miserably so I wouldn't recommend those at all. Best way to get rich is to keep funding investments that are rock solid to leverage your capital and not buy any fancy stuff until you are earning more than 10 or 20k a month.

Well, if you are earning 10K a month after taxes you are already rich. The problem is getting there. I don't know how.

As far as investing in pumps goes, it could make you plenty of money if you already got plenty of money.. otherwise you don't get that much. So you would basically need to get it right a ton of times at the begining to make a lot of money, and its next to impossible to get the pumps right each time.
905  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kanye 2020 on: September 05, 2015, 02:15:17 PM
I think it would be a fantastic caricaturization of the fact we are living on the end times of a collapsing system. A hip hop popstar leading the United States would constitute the ultimate proof that the world has gone completely insane. At least we would have a president with plenty of swag tho.
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make a chart showing where most BTC usage is in the USA! on: September 05, 2015, 02:12:45 PM

You mean something like http://fiatleak.com

Is fiatleak only counting the buy orders? Or the net change in realtime?

Because if it counts only buy orders then it sucks, because the same amount of sell orders happen too (thats why the price doesnt change), so its very misleading.

I've posted this before and got told once that that website is not very accurate and was somewhat "rigged". Could someone explain exactly why fiatleak.com is not legitimate? i've tried to find a good explanation for this but I can't find anything convincing, it seems pretty legit to me, its just taking data from the exchanges right?
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal to add Bitcoin symbol to Unicode on: September 05, 2015, 02:10:44 PM
The next step is reaching worldwide keyboard manufacturers so a BTC symbol is added on keyboards next to filthy $ and € etc. If we managed to pull that one off then we'll know we are all already rich (that's if you are already holding double figure BTCs in your wallet).
Imagine being a pioneer that had a currency before it was added in keyboards worldwide. You know you are a early investor when that happens :p
908  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you entered your wallet and you found 50BTC what you will do ? on: September 05, 2015, 02:07:00 PM
Send it to a mixer and another mixer and finally a dice site. Not my bitcoin so gamble it. If i 2x it i will return if not i better keep silence.

Lol gambling with 50 BTC would require some massive balls. I've never had 2 figure BTCs so seeing my wallet with 2 figures would feel really good. But I would feel really bad for the owner. Then again, there's no way to know what that money was for or if he had some bad intentions, so I would probably auto convince myself that im doing a good thing by keeping it myself Cheesy
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Ransom]Ashley Madison customers are Paying over 100k in bitcoin to Hackers. on: September 05, 2015, 02:05:07 PM
The irony is, this all could have been avoided if Ashley Madison used Bitcoin to accept payments instead of the outdated credit card system which due it's centralized nature requires that ALL data is stored, all credit card movements + information is on their databases. So I hope they learned the lesson and next time they buy some Bitcoin.
910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coursera - Princeton Univ. - Webinar "Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies" on: September 05, 2015, 02:03:01 PM
It's always great news to see universities paying cryptocurrencies (specially bitcoin) the attention it deserves. As a teacher you would be mentally insane to not tell your students about Bitcoin. Anyone involved in technology should be holding some Bitcoins by now an studying the protocol on a daily basis if you want a job in the industry, in the next 10 years it will be everywhere.
911  Economy / Economics / Re: European stock markets fall again as China worries bite on: August 27, 2015, 03:08:08 PM
What's funny is some analysts and politics are already saying China's situation is not that bad and basically how its good that the chinese goverment is manipulating the stock market. Don't watch the Manipulated Stock Markets to tell you what to do. Take a look at commodities prices and tell me with a straight face that everything is great in China and that the Chinese government can control world demand lol.
912  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: August 27, 2015, 02:53:41 PM
I think, bitcoin prices in 2016 will decrease due to the emergence of new coins that will exceed bitcoin
in 2016 we will hit 500$ i sure it

i hope we can hit something better than a mere 500, which was feasible this year at least in theory

if by the end of 2016 we are still at 500 something went utterly wrong, it seems that many cannot still consider how a joke the marketcap of bitcoin is, at the moment...

I also want something bigger than 500, at least 4 figures after halving and after the blcoksize debate has been solved, but make no mistake, big and fast raises usually come with big corrections, but yeah I hope we can have a 4 figure floor soon, everything else feels like poverty. Bitcoin doesn't deserve anything that isn't a 4 figures minimum. It's so damn underrated, it pisses me off how dumb people are by not moving all of their fiat on Bitcoin already.
913  Economy / Speculation / Re: After the BlockSize Fork To Da Space!! on: August 27, 2015, 02:16:09 PM
i think you need to wait until the whole consensus thing is well established and the new fork is set, until then there will be uncertainties, not so easy to get out of this storm

the halving is the only thing that i see, that can put a good pressure for a likely increase...

The halving, a smooth fork, world wide economic collapse, fall of the US dollar, bank runs all over the world, lots of things...

Wrong .. BTC can be better and good in a rich world ..................

Money will not simply disappear, it will have to move from one way to another. If the money stays in fiat and not inside Bitcoin then Bitcoin's price will never explode. We will need that at least 0.5% of worldwide fiat is inside Bitcoin to become millionaires if you are holding something like 20 BTC. Let's hope it happens soon because working is a scam.
914  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will break $200 again on: August 27, 2015, 02:07:31 PM
It could perfectly happen and there's nothing to fear about it. Since Bitcoin is a self regulated system there will always be someone profiting. If the big miners are mad at the low price, the small miners will come in and take their place. That's how it works. Any way, if you are here holding long term because you know eventually Bitcoin will have invested at least 1% of worldwide fiat, you will not care about 200 breaking again. And it only takes 1% of fiat to move into bitcoin for the price to be about 100K per BTC.
915  Economy / Speculation / Re: This drama is ridiculous... on: August 27, 2015, 02:05:06 PM
Why are so many being a pu$$y?

So the price is lower and has been. Who cares? Average down. Keep at it. Hold long-term. Eventually you'll break even and profit.

If Bitcoin fails, it will be years away. Too many dark websites still use it. Too many lost coins. Too many big holders.

Some people need to consider using logic instead of emotion. Smh.

People want results quick this is how humans are hardwired to look at. Also it's frustrating knowing the early investors only had to wait 4-5 years to have millionaire purchasing power, for this to repeat we'll need at least 10K per bitcoin, and to reach 10K per bitcoin it may take what, 10 to 20 years? That frustrates people. It's understandable tho, time is everything, but we can do nothing but hold and wait.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need more companies with original names. No more Bit-, -coin, or -pay. on: August 27, 2015, 01:36:01 PM
I guess its a marketing scheme that works. If you use something under the Bit tag people will automatically understand that it's related to Bitcoin. You also got lots of companies using the Coin tag (Coinbase etc). I think aesthetically they are good names even tho at some point it becomes confusing trying to discern from one company to another.
917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The best Bitcoin Subbreddits? on: August 27, 2015, 01:26:43 PM
/r/bitcoinbeginners

Is a good subreddit for noobs.

/r/bitcoinmarkets

This one is good if you enjoy the speculation subforum here

/r/CryptoAnarchy

This one would be interesting but its pretty dead.
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT - Officially #REKT (also goes for BIP101 fraud) on: August 27, 2015, 01:23:42 PM
It's not fully over yet. The big spam attack still has to happen in september, it may cause panic again and get some random newbies that are clueless supporting XT or BIP101. Only after the spam attacks are over we will be able to say the hijacking attempt is over and buried, until then lets keep our eyes open.
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you differentiate you portfolio? on: August 27, 2015, 01:14:56 PM
Of course I do. I use this page cryptofolio.info which is great to keep track of your coins prices. I've got a crapload of different coins that I mined at some point, most of them are near worthless, I also got a couple coins I bought, which are like less than 20%, the rest is all BTC. It shows how most coins will die and the only thing worth holding is BTC.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Commonwealth Governments Urged to Regulate Bitcoin on: August 27, 2015, 01:13:21 PM
I don't understand how they are going to regulate Bitcoin beyond fiat to Bitcoin conversions. If someone gets paid in Bitcoin directly and buys something directly with Bitcoin from a merchant that accepts it, how are they going to keep track of said money? they can only do it if fiat is involved.
