IT Manager
GREYVILLE ENTERPRISES LIMITED
September 2003 – February 2016 (12 years 6 months)United Kingdom
My responsibilities at Greyville Enterprises covered a broad spectrum of areas, relating to everything from web development, to marketing and promotional activities.

First and foremost, I developed and maintained the Ruby on Rails based B2B e-commerce web application, used by Bicycle Dealers throughout the United Kingdom to order in new supplies of parts and accessories.

Secondly, I also developed many backend office applications and reports, handled any hardware maintenance, gave staff training, and provided general I.T support to the whole business.

Additionally, I also designed an annual 200-page trade catalogue, produced regular email marketing campaigns, managed the company's social media, and designed printed adverts that were included in the BikeBiz trade magazine.

so, what's your point?

Firstly, I agree with keeping this ICO fair.

Due to DPOS nature of LISK, DEV team should be fair and burn all BTER XCR coins.
Can a delegate please make a new thread with a poll and the following options:

VOTE
1. Burn all BTER XCR donations
2. Keep all BTER XCR donations

DPOS FTW

+1 vote to Burn all BTER XCR donations

This will teach BTER a lesson and benefit all other Lisk holders. Lisk value goes up as supply shrinks.

I don't think I'm listening right..
If lisk burns bter portions of the ico.. that in turn
Means everyone in Lisk will greatly benefit
If & when this happens..

That would be music to the hears of the lisk community.
& lisk would gain more contributors and awareness.
That would definitely boost confidents of new comers
In lisk.. teach other exchange not to take from anyone
illegally, u never knw when comes back on u 10 fold.

Do what's right, balance the situation..
Whatever it takes to increase the overall value of Lisk

P2p360

burning them is not good. Bter has debt in XCR to their customers and it can't be compensated with the leftover coins. And the coins are worthy. There are only 2 possibilities that make sense:

1. Treat it as there was nothing (the decentralized way, you just don't have the power, if someone is tricking you...)
2. Refund it, to let BTER give the coins back to his customers at least and maybe offer a post-investment scenario for XCR (There are not that many leftover anyway...)

I am sure, BTER does want to pay back it's debt, that's why they tried to invest in lisk to make money of it... they have still outstanding debt in BTC...

The people who buy now, do it just because of overhyping. Not because of thinking.

Are you really such a fool?

The reason to leave it late is to get a much better idea of what the ICO has raised. If it had raised $100,000,000 many of us "non-thinkers" would be wary of buying in.

Also, the BTC invested at the end of the ICO has had four weeks of availability to invest in short term things, making more profit. I have used the four weeks to buy XCR at around 0.00001, making me another 30%.

 Roll Eyes

yea, exactly those people, that will sell on the first profit... to go to the next hype...

i don't understand why the decision was taken to have the ICO end in the early hours of the morning European time.

who cares about the ending time. Again: Why should anyone wait until the last minutes, hours or even days?
The people who buy now, do it just because of overhyping. Not because of thinking. They probably don't even know, what lisk is.
Just see the amount and "oh my god". This has to be good, I will buy some...
or even "oh my god, my amount is getting smaller", I will buy more... ridiculous...
Thank god, that the community is still small...

i was thinking that it means Oliver and Max probably have to work through the night to keep an eye on technical issues that arise. i want my team to get a good nights sleep.

I guess it was their decision. So why blame them... we nerds love to work in the night and go to bed in the morning. ;-)
I guess they have lots of Pizza and Red Bull

Or you create just hundreds of accounts with a vote each... no matter what: Votes are always depending on amounts...
and thats why the ones with a small stake wont be able to delegate.

Most of the delegates in BitShares don't have a lot of stake themselves, BitShares holders vote for them because they are the best/most trustworthy. (DPOS was invented by BitShares but they call delegates witnesses now) https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/explorer/witnesses

It should be the same in Lisk, Lisk holders will vote for the 101 delegates that best decentralize and serve Lisk.

The fact, that the delegates don't have stake doesn't say anything. You create a second account and vote for it with another one...
The concept seems to be very good, but in reality people are greedy, that's why it does not work as expected.

yea would be nice, if someone explaines technically, why there has to be that kind of limitation.
so all the new LISKs coin are spreaded between 101 accounts. whats the reason except to make 101 people wealthy?

Not sure if trolling or just stupid.

the question is, why not making more as 101 accounts of LISK participating in the new 36.000 LISK forged daily

I guess because there should be more trust then... but I don't think so...

no, but if you own a serious amount you can "buy" your delegate for sure, where others with "peanuts" don't get anything. Not a percentage or anything but nothing.
But the amount of coins increases and your percentage is going slightly down with every year.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 08:45:55 PM
If you made a deposit to our ICO website it can take up to 3 hours to appear! Please be aware of this issue!

If it takes longer and the ICO ends will it still execute the deposit ?

The timestamp is based on the initial BTC exchange so you should be fine.

what is important is that the BTC are confirmed in the blockchain!

Anyone that postpones its buy even further is self guilty...
I mean, why the hell do you have to wait for the last minutes?

Fix comes soon.

Thanks, so can you guarantee that if you have received my ether I will eventually have the key? Are there issues generating keys atm?

probably a small DDOS as it looks... nothing to worry, because of multisig and probably not even anything on the server Wink
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 08:27:50 PM
Now I see why the launch isn't until 1-3 weeks.  To give people time to get their keys and passphrases.

No matter, some people will still not have them generated on time... :-)
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 08:20:10 PM
So can anyone help me: my ether has been received but no key generated. How can I be sure I will receive a key before the ICO completes? This has been for around 4 hours... My previous transfers and key generation occurred instantly

I don't know, why you shouldn't be able to create a key after ICO... there are some problems, that will be probably fixed.
932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 08:17:43 PM
Hey, I have send XCR from my webwallet to lisk ico more than 1 hour ago.  The transaction is on the blockchain with 500+ confirmations, but on my lisk ico account, it still says 0/10 confirmations.  Should I be worried or it takes awhile for the lisk ico site to update?  Thx
compare the keys, if everything is right, it will probably be allright by tomorrow... maybe they have whatever problems... but the transactions will be there.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 08:10:23 PM
I think what hurt BitShares a lot was that it only had 101 delegates, why not 1001 delegates for the main chain?!

there are so far 3300 donaters. maybe 1001 are too much, but i would even say make 100001. i dont know how a delegate system can be in favor of a system like btc, where the best developing ideas are getting integrated.... except that the 101 are getting alot of stash and thats just not good.

I somehow still don't understand why there has to be a limitation. Instead of simple penality to lower ratings...
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 08:07:36 PM
Maybe the dev team can increase the available supply. Psychologically it is better for the new buyers after the ICO.  Wink

the dev team. lol.

there are just 2 of them. i think a team is considered with 2+ otherwise you speak of the 2 devs.

@HQLisk

how far are you with the plans of hiring people like devs and support?

yet. that will change for sure with that funding...
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 07:56:46 PM

Holding more LISK = more votes.  Saying it has nothing to do with the amount of LISK you are holding is a dumbass thing to say.

The community as a whole holds the most Lisk of all and can override any one individual voting for themselves, no matter how big a pile of Lisk that is.

Okay, I think I understand now.

I still think Max and Oliver will end up with several delegates each.

Why would you vote for a competing delegate?

If I have 4% of supply, then I will give all of my delegates 4% of the vote, and not add to any of my competitors' %

There are no competing delegates.  Because Lisk DPoS is a COOPERATIVE system that must have 101 people to work.  And you want your candidate delegate to be responsible in the eyes of the community so it will receive a bulk of COMMUNITY votes, which are greater in total number than any individual's voting power.

Delegates are competing to get enough votes to be in the top 101
If you are running a delegate, why would you vote for a competitor's delegate and add to their % ?
So if I have 4% of vote, I am only voting for my own delegates.
If I give someone else a 4% bump, maybe this knocks me down to 102 spot, and I earn no money.  Not a rational thing to do.

every delegate should have 2 votes (first that can be used on anybody (even himself) and second that can be use only for somebody else)

From a game theory standpoint, you would then take away your 4% vote from delegates ranked above you to get back in the top 101.  It is an iterative process with more than 101 voters who are constantly adjusting their votes to meet the twin goals of  getting 101 people in place that are needed to run the system while  staying in that group of 101 themselves.  Eventually it stabilizes.  It's not just your voting power that counts, no matter what your voting power is.

Or you create just hundreds of accounts with a vote each... no matter what: Votes are always depending on amounts...
and thats why the ones with a small stake wont be able to delegate.

The effort people put fudding need to be paid with a pump

I saw my Lisk go down from around 60k now to 13k...

That is exactly what all here should see and thats why I don't understand why everyone is so happy...
I mean its fine until a certain point, but this is really annoying...
because those coins are worth more, less but worth more. it's math. But I explain you better.
If you have one apple and you sell it for 2 bananas you will have 2 bananas that will fill your stomach better than 1 apple

I know that. But the percentage is shrinking. Should I explain that to you or can you figure out it yourself?

yes please draw me a pie chart

except one difference.  supply
check supply of bitshares and you will see why it went that way,, 2+BILLION coins?
big dif from the amount lisk will have available
it wont go as high as ether due to supply, but it wont be as bad as bts    IMO
we will c Wink

are you serious? Supply doesn't say anything. its just a shifted comma...

supply vs demand is biggest factor in coin price for these situations
your a goof fudder plain and simple and will eat your words in 2 weeks ! hahaha
as bad a ETH fudders months ago lmao
losers...

If you don't understand the simple math, I probably can't help you, but I try it again:
if there are 2 Billion coins and you own 20 Million. You have 1 percent. If you dump it, it will be a dump with 1%.
if there are 100 Million coins and you own 1 Million. You have 1 percent. If you dump it, it will be a dump with 1%. There is NO difference.
NONE! Understand?
940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 20, 2016, 06:58:31 PM

Maximum Year One forging rewards for one delegate is thus 31,233 * 5 = 156,165 Lisk.   The actual number will be somewhat lower.

Max and Oliver each own 4% of LISK.  Therefore they each have 4 delegates = 624660 LISK generated in first year for each of them

That staking revenue should be enough to cover all of their personal expenses.

Am I correct in thinking the staking revenue will be the salary for Max and Oliver?

Surely they will not be taking salary from investor BTC for their personal expenses?

Ownership percentage does not guarantee the community will vote you into a delegate position.  "Four percent ownership" does NOT mean "Has four delegate slots".  Go read the Delegate Handbook and come back to post when you understand how Lisk really works.

So isn't it true, that you can vote yourself up there if your amount is high enough?
