961  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The democrats believed to be too big to jail... will see. on: June 25, 2017, 10:55:09 PM
Thank you, Masha and Joe, I appreciate you guys hearing me out. To be fair, the Dems are just as complicit with corporate/elite pandering, honestly it's worse, given they are supposed to represent the people. The Clintons are no angels, I will be clear. I just think they are financially corrupt (Bill is a horndog), but not like, sex dungeon corrupt. I don't blame rich people for being greedy assholes, I expect it LOL. But I will concede, and y'all need to quote this, Hillary Clinton was a poor candidate, acted dishonestly concerning the election (they cheated Bernie bad, and it should have been illegal), and is a perfect example of the fiscal corruption I was talking about.

If I could, Id buy y'all a beer Smiley
962  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should fear a cashless world on: June 25, 2017, 12:21:01 PM
A cashless society is giving complete control over to the bankers.

When implemented (which will happen sooner rather than later) you can expect the following -

1) Negative interest rates - spend your money or watch the balance shrink daily

2) Bail in's - Laws already in place, you are classed as an investor in the bank.  When the bank folds you loose your cash.

3) No more bank runs due to point 2 as there is no longer any physical money to withdraw.

4) Every transaction you make is logged and audited.

5) Not classed as a "good" citizen, they will freeze your account leaving you destitute instantly.

I looked back at your post and had a good chuckle Wink You were right on the money, less that a year ago.

1) This is what banking fees on low value accounts typically amount to. If you keep less than 1000 dollars in the bank,  you will pay out the wazoo in fees, to justify/profit from your deposit.

2) We are repealing Dodd Frank as we speak. Why that's a good idea, I don't know, but if banks don't have regulation and don't carry adequate cash reserves, we move into:

3) good luck running a bank nowadays. It will simply close Wink they don't keep a whole lot of cash on hand, you have to notify them in advance now if you are making a substantial withdrawal, lest they give you a cashier's check.

4)ACH/SWIFT

5) Owe back taxes. At some point, they will freeze your account, take the balance, and incur a charge off fee on the 'compromised' account. If that isn't enough, they will come for your wages.

We didn't even need to reject cash completely; the reliance on ACH and debit/credit have ushered in a quasi cashless society already Wink
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Volatility - major reasons for ?! on: June 25, 2017, 03:54:52 AM
Price fluctuation of btc is largely affected by btc demand in the market. This changes over time, thus creating a rise in price, is also one of the opportunities to make a profit..Market stability is maintained only when btc supply and demand are close together, so btc prices will stabilize.

Yes, so I want to correct this that price fluctuations are not only determined by the demand but also the amount of available bitcoins (supply). These are basically the factors of Bitcoin's volatility.
I agree with you, the volatility of the bitcoin price is always depending in the demand and supply and you can't split those things because they are very related to each other, if the demand goes up then the supply goes down and if the supply goes up then it means that the demand is going down so it is very related to each other and as long as we are maintaining the demand that we are getting right now then the price will keep going up.

Methinks the volatility is honestly just a bunch of bullshit Wink this is like the most heavily manipulated market you can participate in; no regulations and it doesn't take a lot of fiat to manipulate some of the exchange. Just deep pockets or coordinated selling/buying. The price moves so much because the investors are so inexperienced, and professional traders are making a killing off of inexperienced traders that are reactionary and undisciplined. It alsooves because whales want it to move. Mark my words, the price of bitcoin is being depressed until corporate American can buy in. It will quickly become fully regulated, and the price will soar. Lobbies will see to that. Otherwise, it will be an alt, mostly ETH.

There is no agreed upon way to value a bitcoin. Hence, a price borne completely on speculation won't be very stable.
964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy bitcoins before or after August 1st? on: June 25, 2017, 03:44:04 AM
On August 1st, they will implement the Segwit and there are some uncertainties involved.  If I were wanting to invest, should I do it before or after the date?

My concern is that the price would still be higher than the price on August 2nd if the implementation did not go as smooth as planned and caused the price to drop.

Also, what is the official words on the implementation?

that is the problem that you will never know about. bitcoin is always like this. price goes up then there is some kind of drama that the community insists on making bigger and bigger, then everyone starts thinking a drop is possible and sometimes it even is. and after some down time when the market makers accumulated enough price rises again leaving everyone who didn't buy in that downtime, behind.
My only strategy in bitcoin is believing to it because in my experience no matter what happen how deep the dump will be the bitcoin will be always going up because the bitcoin have many back up investors so in that way the only road for bitcoin to take is pump so buying now will be a good choice if you will hold it for a long term.

Agreed. It will recover, eventually. I believe this event will cause a serious drop in the price, for a while. I think we may see ETH surge in value, as it has become a 'safe haven crypto', along with LTC, ZCASH, XMR and XRP. They tend to pop when btc goes up or down; I think it's capital flight, or people using those networks to get around the congestion that always comes with a surge in price. If ETH pops, the ERC20 token gang will pop as well; people may retreat into these assets as they are more akin to stocks than coins, and try to wait it out. But essentially, I see a lot of capitalization moving into alts from BTC. Bitcoin won't die, it may have a bad week or two. Cheap coins IMO Wink
965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will people start moving their savings to Bitcoin in case of a financial crash? on: June 25, 2017, 03:36:56 AM
In the case of a traditional market financial crash, bitcoin might not be the best option as a safe haven asset. Consider: not too many places actually accept bitcoin, they facilitate bitcoin remission by accepting fiat in exchange for your bitcoin, from a third party exchange. If fiats are disrupted, so would your ability to convert to a fiat through one of these payment portals. You would be worth a lot on paper, but the challenge of converting that virtual value to real world value might prove daunting in such a financially troubled time Sad

Stick to physical stores of value in times of crisis. Precious metals, goods and tools, and land. You can always sell them after said crisis, they most likely will have appreciated Wink
966  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The democrats believed to be too big to jail... will see. on: June 25, 2017, 02:58:20 AM
From shaddy dealing with the clinton presidency (gmos) to more recents total abuse and exploitation, i think that they believed to have become to big to jail. Now they start to realize that their little swamp can so quickly be drained that all along they have been played (from lynch airport girl, to holder gun runner, to obama healthcare pimp, to bill clinton rape rampage with his buddies). I don't see the problem to liquidate those assets now. The question is which superframe agenda were they serving? I can't believe that planners could be as stupid to believe to have a single chance of world gov... noise to loot to be exposed to permit the constitutionnalists return in glory? Like a vaccination? Inserting dangerous agents to test in real life the solidity of the consitution?

Test passed.

What will happen to the demcrat basis? Have they started to realize that the rumors on the internet are mostly true? Pelosi cash? Gold mine in haiti? Clinton slush fund, clinton foreign secretary pay to play, hillary server/email etc etc etc... or do they still prefer to stay in their foetal position?

Let's define a contemporary Democrats, shall we?

Quote
Today, the House Democratic caucus is composed mostly of progressives and centrists,[4] with a smaller minority of conservative Democrats. The party's philosophy of modern liberalism advocates social and economic equality, along with the welfare state.[13] It seeks to provide government intervention and regulation in the economy.[14] These interventions, such as the introduction of social programs, support for labor unions, affordable college tuitions, moves toward universal health care and equal opportunity, consumer protection, and environmental protection form the core of the party's economic policy.[13][15] The party has united with smaller liberal regional parties throughout the country, such as the Farmer–Labor Party in Minnesota and the Nonpartisan League in North Dakota.

What's not part of being a Democrat?:
Caring about Hillary Clinton

For some reason, the right seems to conflate Hillary with the entirety of the DNC. I'm tired of hearing about her, she lost. I never talk about the team that loses the Superbowl, Im too geeked about the other team winning. Essentially, we usually forget the losers and celebrate the winners, but some reason, Clinton is still a talking point half a year into the Presidency she lost Sad. I'm sooo glad she lost, we wouldn't have gotten Trump. What allowing Trump to become POTUS has done is expose what the GOP has drifted to, in the interest of its corporate sponsors:

Quote
The Republican Party's current ideology is American conservatism, which contrasts with the Democrats' more progressive platform (also called modern liberalism). Further, its platform involves support for free market capitalism, free enterprise, fiscal conservatism,[3] a strong national defense, deregulation, and restrictions on labor unions. In addition to advocating for conservative economic policies, the Republican Party is socially conservative, and seeks to uphold traditional values based largely on Judeo-Christian ethics.[1]

I have no issue with these ideologies, as presented, even if I don't agree with them. Im personally all for free markets and deregulation, always love a strong national defense. The quirk comes when you see how these noble pursuits have been perverted by corporate lobbying (it's a D and R thing, tbh).

Supports deregulation, but at the expense of worker and environmental safety.

Supports free market capitalism, but restricts state's rights to sell marijuana.

Fiscal conservatism, but has routinely sought tax breaks for corporations and the elite.

Supports the idea of trickle down economics, but this strategy was implemented and proven ineffective.

Definition: Trickle-down economics is a theory that says benefits for the wealthy trickle down to everyone else. These benefits are usually tax cuts on businesses, high-income earners, capital gains and dividends.

So the guys that would outsource jobs out of the country, even establish headquarters outside of the States to avoid taxes, they are suddenly going to make sure that the value they collect 'trickles down to the little guy' the worker.

I won't hold my breath. The shareholders are the first consideration. It's the law, dammit Cheesy

Another observation is that it is not really fair to push Christian agendas through government. I'm Christian myself, but everyone isn't. No taxation without representation; and Church and State really shouldn't mix. The mixture of church and state gets you regimes that incept things like Al Queada and ISIS. I don't think I have to explain that additionally.

Jesus said render on to Caesar his shit. Even in the Republic that was Rome, people knew to separate Politics and faith.

We have forgotten our fathers faces Sad

So the critique isn't with the party as much as the agenda. The mission of your party is noble, but your voting base is being used to support policies that harm the very base that votes for it, as well as others.

So, what's your actual critique of Democratic ideology, or are you mad at Hillary, a candidate that didn't win, or Obama, a man who is no longer President? His legacy is being erased as we speak by your party Wink it's the new goal post Obama; dismantle his works. Tax repeal, healthcare repeal, and environmental regulatory repeal Wink because we all want corporations to get tax breaks, less healthcare, and a more fucked up environment.

Yuge.
967  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Africa should be nuked, all evil originated there on: June 25, 2017, 01:25:49 AM
Seems like the OP recently experienced some Nigerian like scam.

ROFL, more like an African must have raped his mom, burned some nuns, and shot some kids. On Sunday Smiley

A point to ponder, this thread is a perfect example. The rhetoric the OP presents, is this not an example of radicalization? We have a violent intent, factionalism, and expoused means. To me, it's not too many steps from a post like this, to suddenly deciding to grab your handgun, hop in a van, and mow down some folks. But we have entertained this ideology for a few pages of discussion, even as we have decried and ridiculed the OP.

But if this was an ISIS sympathizer, I would have reported him myself Smiley we are all complicit Wink

We can change things, but we all have to agree they need to be changed Sad
968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Love Trumps Hate on: June 25, 2017, 01:12:55 AM

You are absolutely right Smiley he lets the pen do the talking Wink

http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/04/politics/lgbt-religious-liberty-executive-order/index.html

President Donald Trump campaigned on being a "real friend" to the gay community, but several LGBT rights organizations said the religious liberty executive order he signed Thursday could open the doors for more discrimination against gay Americans.

The order, signed during a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden, directs the Internal Revenue Service to exercise "maximum enforcement discretion" over the so-called Johnson amendment, which prevents churches and other tax-exempt religious organizations from endorsing or opposing political candidates. The order also provides "regulatory relief" for organizations that object on religious grounds to a provision in Obamacare that mandates employers provide certain health services, including coverage for contraception.

"In signing this so-called 'religious liberty' order, the president has essentially granted broad permission to discriminate, and ceded enormous power to unelected officials to interpret regulation and current law," Interim Executive Director Elizabeth Kohm told CNN. "We are deeply concerned that rights and protections for people from marginalized communities will be even further subject to the whims of others' personal ideology controlling their lives, a concept entirely antithetical to the values of freedom and dignity our nation holds dear."

It's called dog whistle politics:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog-whistle_politics

Dog-whistle politics is political messaging employing coded language that appears to mean one thing to the general population but has an additional, different or more specific resonance for a targeted subgroup. The phrase is often used as a pejorative because of the inherently deceptive nature of the practice and because the dog-whistle messages are frequently distasteful to the general populace. The analogy is to a dog whistle, whose high-frequency whistle is heard by dogs but inaudible to humans.

Seems to fit Wink

969  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let's invade cuba? on: June 24, 2017, 08:12:48 PM
Oh great, another war for America. How is the war in the Middle East going? Have another Latin American territory? You already have Puerto Rico, right? I heard they voted for statehood, how well is that going now? Enjoy incorporating a bankrupt territory as a state where people can't even speak proper English.

We wouldn't incorporate them, we would bomb the snot out of them. You see, McCain would get the generals and lawmakers together that would plan and approve the use of such force and broker a deal. The military would level the infrastructure and the lawmakers would call on their contractor friends and prop up a bidding process. (To make it appear legitimate. The brokering beforehand determined who would get the contract). They would then go in and re-build the infrastructure while picking a replacement leader for Cuba who would allow our political and business whims.

That's how they roll.

It wouldn't take too much to finish the job time and a trade embargo have started so many decades ago. It's funny the bed mates we choose; we are friends with some autocrats, the ones that have exploitable natural resources or strategically useful positioning. The autocrats that can't offer us gifts don't get to sit with us, unfortunately Wink

I am so insanely curious to see how a Rebuplicans led House and Senate deal with the Puerto Rico crisis. Allowing statehood will ruin the budget; will affect budget reconciliation immensely on top of a wall , increased military spending, and less tax income because of the cuts Wink
970  Other / Politics & Society / Re: google.ru is banned in Russian Federation. on: June 24, 2017, 07:44:03 PM
Commies gonna tell u how to think you know. Don't do it your way because our way is the way of the motherland. lol.. I can't believe that people still fall for this shit in 2017. I guess the Russians are happy being lied to and controlled.

I don't think it's a choice Sad once you become part of an undesirable regime, you would think that it would be hard to expatriate, and it's not so easy to get an elected official of of office that doesn't want to go.

When shit like this can go down:

Second premiership (2008–2012)
Main article: Vladimir Putin's Second Cabinet
Putin was barred from a third term by the Constitution. First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was elected his successor. In a power-switching operation on 8 May 2008, only a day after handing the presidency to Medvedev, Putin was appointed Prime Minister of Russia, maintaining his political dominance.[100]

It's probably a sign the democracy has degraded, and citizens have degraded civil rights. You can't really fight shit like this; the official in question needs to age out of office, or simply be removed Wink
971  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people pray? on: June 24, 2017, 07:32:03 PM
If you really think about it, you are being a total douche when you pray for anything

You are basically telling god... that you know what is best, more than god does

By praying, you are saying...
"Hey god, I know you don't want to give me a new car, but I want it anyway"
"Screw your perfect/divine plan god, I want a new car... me me me me me me, it's all about me"

If it is god's will... why are you trying to change god's will?

Do you really think you know better than god does?

Or, are people just selfish and don't care what god has planned?

Prayers are requests Wink you can't really demand anything of the Lord, but you can always ask.

The Lord doesn't actively deny you a thing because you don't have it. On the contrary, you have simply not asked for it yet.

And in my personal experience, the Lord will very rarely grant you a wish, that will ultimately harm you. While we are his sheep, sheep must be allowed to roam the entire pasture, despite the snares and pits. With that being said, you don't hand the kids an eight ball and a straw and say 'have fun!'.

And I will go on record as a Christian who has never heard the voice of God. Honestly, it would scare the shit right out of me, at least initially Wink
972  Economy / Economics / Re: In event of your death on: June 24, 2017, 01:33:33 PM
I am wondering what provisions have you all made in case you die before cashing out your bitcoins? I am single, live alone and both my parents are deceased. My siblings dont care about any of this, however I would like my nieces and nephews to get some of my profits but they are still very young right now. I dont trust lawyers to give them my private keys. I am wondering, what can I do?

Get a key man. I have an arrangement where if I should come up missing for a while, one of my close friends will reconcile my estate, that is, liquidate my positions, consolidate the funds, and pass them to the Miss.. He's a fail-safe, the Miss has all of the privilege keys, key phrases and such she needs to turn our digital value into physical value. I implicitly trust this friend and my wife with my life; I would suggest you pick someone that is financially stable, a well known, long time friend, and have someone check up on him Wink

You would trust a lawyer. Trust a blood relative, sexual partner or close friend Wink but be careful.
973  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why most products now are made in China? can we trust these products? on: June 23, 2017, 03:53:22 AM
Almost all products nowadays are made in China? is it a good thing or not?

Where have you been bro? China has been making all if the things for years now Wink

Everything is made in China right now for two reasons. One, they have spent a lot of capital developing factory infrastructure for fabrication. Two, the major reason, is that labor is pretty much fucking free in China. With all that population, the labor market is sodden; the lack of regulation also allows companies to operate with much less capital outlay. Regulations are expensive, what with keeping your environment and workers safe. Fuck that noise, said China, and hence we have a million plastic things that are sold at Walmart and discount stores Smiley

And it's not just China, it's where ever in the world you have too many people, not enough jobs, and no government oversight of major industry. There was a time when it seemed like all the clothes were 'hecho en Mexico,', and Cambodia and India used to make a great deal of textile shit for the American market. This was like 15 years ago however, and I don't have nice things Wink

To be fair, China makes some innovative and useful shit. And the phone I'm typing this on is undoubtedly..
974  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How Not To Get Stabbed (Domestic Terror) on: June 22, 2017, 04:27:43 AM
When i seen this i was really hoping for a How To guide on how to not get stabbed.
Anyone have any pointers ?

My advice off hand would be don't turn your back on people.
For example keep an eye on the guy on the bus behind you.

Avoid crowded "downtown" areas where wacko's wander around glassy eyed from drugs.

Make eye contact with people to let them know you see them but don't stare too much  Cheesy

Be ready to kick the fucking shit out of some asshole !
You never know when you might have to knock out some fucking goof bitch.
Don't be low hanging fruit !

I had a guy many years ago come at me and i defused the situation.
I absorbed his confrontation and replied back with a calm and balanced response.
I gave the guy a smoke and he sat down and had a chat with me about things.
Had my reaction been aggressive i probably would have been stabbed.

Learn how to handle people pretty much.

This is actually great idea. Could you start a thread for it? OP is just another leftist loon pushing his personal agenda through click-bait title. But thread about self-defense would have a place here. We have members from all over the world and they could share they experience with street violence.

Yes, a fucking loon I am Smiley Loony for the truth; I'm sorry if that's inconvenient to your worldview.  Añd you would be surprised how many people share my views, at least partially. There might be a whole platform or some shit based around it, I don't know. You would have to get off of Breitbart and the Daily Caller to hear them though.

Your name is Oburkabinladin. I don't have to say anything else Wink

You genuinely seem triggered. Is this a sensitive topic for you? Smiley I'm loving it like McDonalds. And yes, that self defense thread would be tits, you should start that for us. I will surely contribute Smiley

And Spoetniks contribution to the thread was the most genuine, and the most sane. I presented a talking point for the community to ponder on, y'all put yalls fingers in your ears and tried your best to derail this. I see I hit home, and that's what I like to see. And I also see the mature members of the community. I'm a running fucking joke most days, I'm a laughing type of dude, but I know comedy as deflection when I see it.

And I'm still getting paid for this shit.
I'm here all night folks Smiley
975  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: June 22, 2017, 03:34:20 AM
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/9-ways-kids-smarter-money-100050132.html

This article doesn't talk about bitcoin but it got me thinking how to get kinds interested in bitcoin within the context of appropriate money management lessons. Think of we could teach kinds about it. The growth, the adoption, the inflation and retraction. The allure of the "internet money".

...what other ideas come to mind?

Lol! I don't want to teach my kids about bitcoin.
Like I dont want them to be more focus on internet. I want them to play outside. Have dirt in their hands.
Play until get exhausted. Do some physical activities. Men just like the old days when technology didn't take our childhood.

Woah I feel nostalgic.  Kiss
Kids are suppose to have fun and explore the world, it's very complicated here in bitcoin and not good for children.
You need to have a strong mind in order to survive in this world of cryptocurrency. I plan to teach my kids when he is ready
and maybe the right age will be at least 18 years old.

Hell, I say let the kids teach themselves Wink

We live in an information age. There's an infinite amount of information/data available on the internet. Whatever question your kid/s has, he will instantly get an answer by just searching on google. To be honest, I feel as though the internet would do a more thorough job educating about BTC than I do, not so keen on some of the technical details, more of a finance guy.

But seriously, the kids under x age don't really need bitcoin. Lot of shitty stuff on some faucet sites. Besides the porn, half of crypto currency is gambling. Don't know if I would want the kids exposed to unregulated gambling with no restrictions, might foster some bad habits early on Sad
976  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: June 22, 2017, 03:23:58 AM
Bitcoin’s blockchain technology, and the open ledger that all can see, effectively cuts out the need for central banking oversight of transfers. Instead of going through banks, Bitcoin exchanges can now function as an instant, automated, and transparent exchange system. The pseudonymous nature hurts this case, but that can be worked around.

Eventually we will be smart enough to use a blockchain, with immediacy, for vital government records that are accessed frequently, like voting, firearm ownership, and criminal records. I would expand into some of the uses for the new wave of ETH tokens, but this isn't an ETH thread. But I think the future looks very bright Smiley

I give it a decade Wink
977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you sweep paper wallet in your regular wallet? on: June 22, 2017, 12:26:02 AM
But I have to ask, why not just send the bitcoin to your new address? Is it a smallish amount, or are the fees looking too daunting?

Because you can't send bitcoins with a paper wallet. It's just a piece of paper.

Doh, you are absolutely right. Forgot he was dealing with a paper wallet. Was going to follow his response up with 'you will pay a fee to sweep I think, you might do better to import and simply use the wallet.

And thank you Wink I had never considered the technical difference of an import versus a sweep, they have always been in the same place in my head as they achieve the same function. I see why some wallet architectures might want to sweep, for security purposes.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: June 22, 2017, 12:17:14 AM
Fair? The term is quite subjective, however if you're trying to send a million dollars for a little more than a dollar in fees, then why the hell not? Besides, receiving bitcoin wouldn't even require you to confirm your identity as long as the sender sends the btc to the correct address. No invasive identification required, just send the money, pay the fees and you're good to go. However as for micro-transactions, I will be honest and say that sending under x at the moment is an inefficient exercise Wink

Essentially, you have to look at the other benefits of the technology to justify the fees. The low fees used to be a feature Sad
979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you sweep paper wallet in your regular wallet? on: June 21, 2017, 11:41:21 PM
If you have say a desktop wallet with some coins and you also have some coins on a paper wallet, can you sweep those coins on the paper wallet to the desktop wallet or will that replace your whole wallet and balance on the desktop wallet?

You can do this on most real clients, and a few Android wallets. Look for the 'import private key' or 'import key' option. Scan the QR or cut paste the priv key, and you should be set.

I think I may have even seen a sweep function on one of the popular client wallets. An actual sweep will clear the address and consolidate all the funds on one address.

You can also import that key into Blockchain.info, if you prefer to use a browser wallet.

But I have to ask, why not just send the bitcoin to your new address? Is it a smallish amount, or are the fees looking too daunting?
980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core has become a centralized authority on: June 21, 2017, 11:04:36 PM
It s called core.

What kind of core is not central?
One which openly allows people to contribute.  There is a core team of devs within Bitcoin Core, but they don't create absolutely everything.  The best way to make Bitcoin Core less centralised is to participate yourself.

There can easily be a different group of devs in the future, but if that's how you view centralisation then they will be just as "centralised" as Bitcoin Core is now.

Couldn't have said it better myself... As I think someone previously said in this thread, developers are only "external" to Bitcoin. Adding more developers or removing more developers won't necessarily have an effect on the "centralization" of Bitcoin.

As stated, the true threat of centralization is the mining, and let's call it, it's Bitmain. We are about to fork because we allowed the mining to become so corporate, so monolithic. The cash grab that was early bitcoin included the asic race. After the dust settled (and friedcat wasn't there), Bitfury and Bitmain rose in its ashes. We embraced it, they sold us those asics as cloud mining contracts and used the front money to build a better asic (they sold us uncertainty). At every step, the community engendered this; we paid for the mining to become centralized. I think asics are the problem, but I think it's too late to switch it up at this point. People have spent GDPs building farms; the community will be slow to unembrace what we just got.
