I’m showing a -9.5 point spread for the Lakers tonight at the moment. I agree that is too large of a spread, especially the way LeBron has been playing. I think the Kings will probably win, but I don’t have faith they’ll cover the spread, so I think I’d take the Lakers on that one (with the spread). Might as well toss the Warriors beating the Magic and the Celtics beating the Spurs in there with a parlay.
Lakers vs Kings, it was an interesting game and oddly enough, balanced. The Lakers surprised me again, as I was convinced the Kings were going to win the game, but that didn't happen.

By the way, whoever bet on the Lakers was lucky lol

I bet against the Lakers because it is an away game for them, and I expect them to lose. But they prove me wrong. They continue their winning streak. They are now on a 5-game winning streak. This is a good sign for the fans of the Lakers. It seems they are coming back to life even without AD. They will be even stronger when AD returns.

Congratulations to the winners today.

9 games tomorrow but most of them are too early for me. I may take an early bet later.

Just for fun, I am betting on some games in Chinese Div 1 Winter Tour.

Since I am not well-versed in the current Chinese teams, I just took the favored team.

Good luck to anyone taking action in this Division.

This is just the late 2016 TNC roster with the addition of Karl. They already have the chemistry and they already know how each other plays but perhaps the time they spent not playing as a team together really hurt that chemistry. They just need familiarity with each other's current plays but they can get this up to speed if they spend a lot of time playing scrims and joining minor tournaments. This team has a future in the SEA DPC, and a strong contender at that considering that a lot of SEA teams have reshuffled too.

That is a very long time ago. I do not even know if they are still up to date with the current meta. SEA is a weaker region, but the competition is still going to be tough. If they want to qualify for TI this year, it will be a lot of work.

Kings key injuries: Malik Monk (calf) questionable

I'm still trying to understand Clippers as an ORG as this team is playing great basketball sometimes and the other times , they are considering basketball a joke...and if I remember well and I do , Clippers was the most hyped team some years ago right ? look what this hype made to them a few years later...

Poor Clippers, like the Lakers there are a lot of hype on them when they got Kawhi and then Paul George. But so far the investments are not returning. Both of there superstars are always injured.

Kawhi's prime is cut short by his injuries. It is just painful to see that no load management can sustain his health. His knee injury is a reoccurring injury that he may suffer even when he gets older and out of basketball. By now, we may conclude that they will not be able to carry this team to a championship because of their injuries.

Somehow, we as basketball fans would like to see again Lebron James playing in the post season, but we cannot just get ahead because their current roster will not probably get the chance to play at the playoffs considering how inconsistent they are, and players aren't that willing to step-up if there's a situation that needed them to be at the best version of themselves. So far, they are making an improvement, but I still doubt it.

They needed to make a move in this upcoming trade because if they won't then it's best to assume that they won't going to reach far enough, if they will get lucky, they will just probably get eliminated in the 1st round or worse in the play-in tournament.

At least they are showing some signs of life. We are still halfway through the season, so if they can get a move for a key player that can help them, there is still a chance that we will see them in the playoffs. Schroeder, Westbrook, Bryant, and Walker are really showing some improvements. They are just a key player away from being really good. And if AD and Lebron stays healthy, their bid is pretty much alive.

Will they play Nicholson in game 5? I think that's a very important game for them, so if Nicholson could already play, that would help them improve their chance of winning. However, if we are talking of game rigging here, then that is not important anymore as either team could win even without their import as long as the calls are on their favor.

In the news, it says that the Bay Area Dragons will stick with Nicholson, so it will just depend on if he is healthy enough to play in game 5. It will be a very big game for both of the team since usually, the one who wins game 5 have a higher chance of taking the championship. So, both teams will need all the help they can get, especially from their imports. Sure, the Bay Area Dragons can win without their import, just like how they have shown in game 4, but Ginebra will not let that happen again. And it will be a Sunday game. We know how Ginebra plays at Sunday with the help of the crowd. They are boosted and especially good on Sundays.

No betting odds release yet.

It is best that we wait until we see if Nicholson will play game 5 or not before we make our bet. His presence I think will make a big shift on who will be the underdog and the spread of the game.

Anyone picking on the Lakers to win against the Hawks?

They are listed as the underdogs so I'm thinking to put some money on the ML @2.19. Not huge amount of money, but just enough to enjoy a late night basketball game.

James will be back and so is Bryant and so maybe they can extend their winning streak against Atlanta at their home court.

I actually picked Lakers to win this game even though they are underdog against the Hawks. They are playing at home, which is an advantage, so I was hoping they could continue their streak. They did defend their home. Schroeder is doing good consistently lately. He is a good help to Lebron and Westbrook. Westbrook is an assist away from triple-double with 18 pts, 11 rebounds and 9 assists.

Unfortunately, I parlayed the Lakers bet with the Suns, which is also an underdog in this game against Miami Heat, but that does not pan out well. I lost my parlay because of the Suns bet.

I combined it with IG to win and technically Knights seems to be abit better but I'd love to add some variance onto this though as Im not really familiar with the CN region so I'd love to explore some weird combination I guess

Knights was totally better than Invictus Gaming. They were able to take the win against IG, 2-0. I thought IG could still win a map against the Knights, but the Knights were very disciplined in every engagement they make. They know when to engage or disengage every single time. Invictus needs to find answers to their weakness, or they will fail badly in this DPC round.

I believed that Luka can surpassed many of Lebron records at a young age, but we all know that the true gauge for greatness if how many rings you can have in your hand and so far, LUka has a long way to go to get even one at this point.

He is still very young and very promising. He can bring a championship to a team if that team can surround him with the right players. I think if he is after a ring, he should get out of Mavericks. Mavs took 20 years before they can surround Dirk with the right players to get a championship. If he wants to chase rings, he should go to teams that know how to surround their stars with the right players and have a good coach. I am thinking of Celtics, but that is currently very stacked right now. Maybe, San Antonio Spurs. The team needs a superstar right now and Pop could coach Doncic very well.

The problematic season is continuing for Lakers.

They have such an inconsistent form really. Sometimes they start a winning streak which stops sharply all of a sudden. It is a three-game winning streak for now and we will see how long this will go on. It feels like they will finish the regular season on the brink of the playoff area. But I don't know if they would stay inside of it or outside. Because this performance isn't credible enough to be sure of something about their future. Lebron must still be quite frustrated at his team now. Because he is still playing really competitively.

That win against the heat is promising though. They won without 2 of their stars. But, you are right. The Lakers should start making a move to acquire the player/s they need to support Lebron and AD. The current roster is not enough and is too inconsistent. The trade deadline is fast approaching, and I am not hearing any news about any acquisition or trade.

Seems like the league is very much manipulated, look at what Bay area players claiming that ref calls are being manipulated and they got penalty for stating their sentiments regarding to that so that they will shut up. There' no free speech there so not surprising to see that they will stretch that series since this is damn business. I'm not surprised if Ginebra will win since this could bring hype to the fans compare if Bay Area Dragons will win the champ this season.

Penalizing a player for bad-mouthing an organization is not exclusive to PBA. Most organization does that. That is preserving the integrity of your organization. NBA has a stiffer penalty for talking about referees. They are professional athletes, and they should know better than to talk about issues on social media. If they feel that they are being cheated, they should go through the proper channel in filing their complaints.

Anyway, Bay Area won game 4 so the series is tied again. No import, No problem.

Those odds look crazy good, PSG's new roster still has a decent set of players coming from well known teams though while Dawn Gaming has the more questionable players coming from Saiyan gaming last season that got eliminated from division 2. I'll tail anyway since I also think the odds are worth betting even though PSG can likely 2-0 here.

Yikes, I guess I was overconfident with my bet. I mean the odds are good though to gamble but it seems, PSG.LGD is still a pretty good team despite playing with their new roster. Dawn Gaming was trashed only on 19 and 22 minutes, that totally show the dominance that they had over the game on both map which is pretty incredible

It is understandable to doubt the power of LGD right now. From their roster last season, only y and nothingtosay is left on the roster. I would avoid betting for now in DOTA due to the changes in rosters. It is still adjustment stage, and the teams are still very unpredictable. Maybe, I start betting after the first tour or the first Major of the season. At least by then, I have a good gauge which team are promising after their performance in their own region.

Dallas Mavericks key injuries: Dorian Finney-Smith (adductor), Maxi Kleber (hamstring)

Utah Jazz @ 1.36 vs Houston Rockets

The Utah Jazz (19-21) will visit the Houston Rockets (10-28) tonight at Toyota Center. The Utah Jazz is on a 5-game losing skid. They lost to Sacramento Kings 117-115 last Tuesday. The Rockets also suffered their 5th straight loss against the Pelicans Wednesday night.

Apparently, some of the Bay Area Dragon players voiced out their disappointment in twitter about the officiating of game 3.

Blankley and Powell are summoned by PBA for their comments on officiating. You can read the news in the link below.

https://www.msn.com/en-ph/sports/basketball/bay-area-s-blankley-powell-summoned-by-pba-for-comments-on-officiating/ar-AA15ZpeQ?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=1586c138c5784b59b44029017745da3b

What are your comments about this? I was not able to watch the whole game so I cannot comment on this but would like to hear your thoughts about this.

It's too early to celebrate, there are still more games to come, if Bay Area will win game 4, then this series will be tied. I'm just wondering if they will still use Nicholson in game 4 after what happen to him, it looks like it was a bad ankle sprain, but if he does not play, I believe the other import will be ready for the challenge.

It looks like a bad sprain because he was carried out of the court and the news said that he was brought to a hospital in a wheelchair. It is just a day's rest before the next game so I am doubtful he will be able to make it. I do not have information about the status of Powell, but if he is healthy now, maybe he will play as the import of Bay Area Dragon.

If Powell plays as an import, the Bay Area Dragon will be more dangerous offensively. But if both imports will not be able to play, then Ginebra will be at a big advantage. They will be too much for the Bay Area Dragons to handle. They can win with the Dragon's import playing, how much more if there is no one who will handle Brownlee?

Hopefully, they can still win games without Zion on the lineup and proved that they are a different team this season as they are one of the teams on top right now in a very competitive West.

They can still win but it will be very hard. Without the two stars, only McCollum will be taking the lead to the young players left on the roster. It is just a few weeks before Zion will be back. They will be down a few games, but they will be able to gain it back when he comes back with Ingram.

Any reactions on Donovan Mitchell getting drug tested after an explosive performance? I know it is an incredible feat but I do not think he needs to be on drugs to be able to achieve it.

I did 2/3 tonight, good bet for me. I hope it will always be like this.

@jakelyson congrats bro.
@YuginKado congrats bro 3/4.  Our Denver bets have lost.

Congrats to you too!

I am not sure about the Lakers and Philly bet but thankfully it hits!

The Lakers are a little bit shaky lately and the 76ers lost to the Pelicans last time, but I know both of these teams can win any given day. Took the risk and got rewarded.

Only 3 games tomorrow.

978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: January 02, 2023, 11:35:26 PM
Kids these days have different way of thinking compared to us before. And their interest might have also been shifted like they focus more on drama and horror movies, gone are the days where cartoons and comedy are the kids favorites. However, I haven’t been interested in Oscar’s betting even before, although I love to watch some of these movies but I have not thinking betting on them.
People and kids are not much interested in award these days - they are more interested in games and action movies.
And we were more interested in awards. The trend is changing. I remember we were so interested in awards and we knew who got what award.

I believe, most people are not really interested when it comes to betting like this kind of global award.
Though of course, we are interested to see those movies in the list like the Avatar as it grossed billion dollars in the cinemas.
Not many people are into betting as this kind of award is usually dependent on the judges' mood and criteria.
And the public doesn't know about such considerations, we are more on which movies are worth spending money inside the cinema.
Some of us are still interested on who gets what? But to the extent of betting on this, I believe not are keen on doing so.

Movie critics have different tastes actually. What is good to normal viewers is bad to them and vice versa. I am usually intrigued by the winners of the awards before and would watch them. Mostly, I find the winners of Best Picture boring. That is why I would be a bad bettor if I will bet on this kind of betting. I would bet on the picture I enjoyed and that would not win because critics like boring and too much talking stuff.

The way we have fun in front of a screen has changed a lot and movies need to adapt to this new reality.

It already has. That is why we have so many streaming services right now and Oscar also includes movies that are not out in cinemas but only played in stream services. I still enjoy watching movies on the big screen. The experience is just different. I also enjoy watching movies on the big tv screen, at home, and relaxed. It's just about the mood.

I am surprised that Jame droppped his ranking from top 10 to bottom 20. Sure, Outsiders was inconsistent this year, but they did won RIO Major. And Jame fragged pretty well, at least from my point of view.

NiKo is still a solid rifler yeah. But it is like there has been some drop in his performance level in the last month of the year especially. I don't know if this can push him a little down in the list.

I have seen a clip of m0nesy while he was teaching NiKo some trick he found on a map.  Grin  It feels different to see m0nesy teaching some good things to his bigger friends than himself. I mean NiKo is normally much more experienced than m0nesy when it comes to professional tournaments. But CS:GO is of course not like a game that you need to be very experienced by playing for professional teams to learn new things. It is all about practice and trying to discover something new after new updates especially.

It is the person that dedicates more time in the game that finds those special tricks that could win a game. Experience-wise, Niko still has an advantage over Monesy, but skill-wise, Monesy is starting to take over. He had a monster performance in the latter part of 2022. I am not surprised if Monesy end up in top 10 or top 5 at the most.

Gins got huge fan base on PBA so its expected that they got a lot of support from the fans also we can add up that many PBA fans want them to win since its like Philippines against foreign country. If they can beat up the Bay Area Dragons this is a huge pride for their organization since beating them is so difficult knowing how talented and tall their rooster are. They really need to avoid injuries since if one of their stars got that maybe this will lower down their chance to win the championship.

There are only a few games left in the conference. 5 games the most. They are all healthy right now and it needs extremely bad luck for Gin Kings to get one of their core players hurt at this point of the conference. But still, you are right, they need to stay healthy and focus on the games left. They already beat the Bay Area Dragons twice; they just need to beat them 3 more times to win the championship. It is a tall task, but it is doable with the help of the inspiration the fans give to them during the game.

Beating them in the series, yes. But even if they lose as long as this series will be competitive and will reach game 7, I think they will be happy already knowing they are up against a very good team. Some of us think that Ginebra will win all the way after this big 1st game win, but seem like things has already change now.

The Bay Area Dragons are the favorite since game 1 but we Filipinos love underdogs. We root for them almost all the time. And we support our own. It may change for some, but I think the general consensus is still for Ginebra to take home the championship.
