1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A man is unable to collect his price cos he forget where he bought the ticket. on: June 14, 2024, 10:15:20 PM
I think it is possible to say or draw out where he purchase the ticket even if it was from 6 months, cause for sure he would know where he would always purchase ticket if he has been doing it for a long time, and if it is just out of nowhere then he could still have some place in his mind if he is the real owner of that ticket.
But for me if he have the winning ticket then why wouldn't they release it, or give him the amount that the ticket won?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: June 14, 2024, 08:21:41 PM
Binance Launchpool is a earning opportunity, no matter how big or small it is a profit is a profit.
I consider it as an airdrop the only difference is that, it already have a value after we receive the reward, it might not be a big profit like other airdrop, but at least it already have a value.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Accepting Crypto Salaries Worth It? on: June 14, 2024, 05:42:41 PM
As a freelancer I would also like to receive my salary in crypto so that it would help me save some transaction fee.
I would like to receive my extra income in crypto since I am earning Fiat in my current job.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: June 14, 2024, 05:18:27 PM
This is why I don't trust any of those self proclaimed TA's, those who would just randomly drop a project, and would promise or tell that it would bloom or rise up in the future.
Those who have been in crypto for a long time had seen so many post like that in social media, there are so many coins before that has been promoted widely in social media but still doesn't have a value.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Money buy you Happiness, is this true! on: June 14, 2024, 04:51:31 PM
It's not all about money !

Money is not everything, and it does not create happiness. Rather, happiness chooses those who choose it, not those who use the means of money to achieve it.

Happiness has arts that only happy people know, just as money cannot buy health from illness
Money does not buy a living conscience, loyalty and integrity, trust and honesty, a  children, parental satisfaction, or the most important thing in your life, which is the blessing of faith... but it may provide you with the best clothing, the best food, the best buildings, and the finest furniture. In return, he takes away things from you that cannot be replaced with money. Because money is not everything. Rather, it may be a source of evil and curse that afflicts its owner.

Personally, I believe that money buys you a house, but not a family. It buys you a bed, not sleep. It buys you a table, not a desire to eat. It buys you a car, not hands to drive it. Money gives you power and the ability to control, it gives you freedom and the ease of obtaining material things, but it does not buy you happiness. Rather, happiness is a minute, a second, or an hour in which you rejoice and try as much as possible to cling to it. That is, it is the moment that you live and the moment that comes after it.

who is agree with me ?
I agree with it, happiness is a choice we could be happy and contented with what we have or complain about it, for me it is all about perspective or how we react on a situation.
We could say money could buy us things that we like or provide the life style or vacation that we want, but if we aren't contented with it, then we wouldn't be truly happy it would only last for awhile.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can blockchain be used for fiat money transfers or mobile payments? on: June 14, 2024, 12:55:09 PM
I've used Bitcoin to buy food, load and also to pay for my bill before.
There are also shops that accepts crypto now, so mobile payment through blockchain or crypto has been possible for couple of years already.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino/gambling center near an institution of learning? on: June 14, 2024, 12:37:34 PM
Do you think having a casino or any gambling center close to an institution of learning, will influence the students somehow or should I say be a positive or negative reinforcement on them, in anyway?

Thoughts?
It would surely have an affect on some of the student's, honestly there shouldn't be anything that could distract a student near or close to an institution of learning.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: True wealth comes from income when you sleeping but earning on: June 13, 2024, 10:11:47 PM
Passive income would always be the way to be truly wealthy.
Let your money work for you, learn to invest in order to gain income even if you aren't doing anything.
Learn to spend wisely, spend on things that could give you something in return, or invest no matter how big or small the profit is it still a profit.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 13, 2024, 08:34:03 PM
If you had a large amount of cryptocurrency would you prefer to keep it on an offline cold wallet or an online cryptocurrency exchange?

Both have pros and cons.

I'm interested to hear the thoughts of others.

Just a simple answer "NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COIN", it is always better to keep your crypto in a wallet that you have full control.
Yes using an exchange or trading site would cut the transaction fee and time when you want to convert, sell or trade your crypto, but you don't have full control of the wallet and there are so many events before that trading or exchange got hacked.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't live above your affordability on: June 13, 2024, 05:41:12 PM
We should live within our means, we could survive when our basic needs are being fulfilled, we don't need to overspend and borrow or loan just to enjoy our life.
For me if I couldn't afford it then I wouldn't buy it, if it is something that would ruin my budget then I wouldn't do it.
I know there are people who enjoys travelling or buying stuffs or even spending much on celebrations, I am fine with it if they have enough money for it, but if they would borrow after doing it or for it to happen then it is something that I wouldn't understand.
Why would they force to do it, if they couldn't afford it with their own money?
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dream Job or Dream Salary? on: June 13, 2024, 05:26:04 PM
Right now it would be dream salary, but we should also think if it would be worth it for our health.
There are some who would earn big but in exchange their body couldn't keep up woth it they would be mentally drained or always be exhausted.
If we want to have a higher salary we should also be prepared for the work load, not just the salary.
If I already have enough saving and already have a passive income from investment or business then I could try my dream job.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parents on childs savings bank accounts are waste of time if not saving on BTC on: June 13, 2024, 04:54:23 PM
I agree to this after witnessing how crypto and inflation grow, I don't want to keep my savings or any excess money in Fiat, I would exchange or trade them to crypto if I am sure that I wouldn't spend that money for anything in the future.
i just think that saving Fiat or holding it for a long time would just lessen it's value so why not put it in something that would give me profit or at least increase its worth.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best assset in investment return 8 years in last 11 years on: June 13, 2024, 12:56:43 PM
If we would compare the current price to the price 8 or 11 years ago, it would show us that Bitcoin was one of the best asset of investment back then, and I believe that it would continue to do so even in the future.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: plant a tree, when bitcoin price increase new record $1k on: June 12, 2024, 11:41:52 PM
Why would we even wait for the price to increase? if we really want to save the planet or plant a tree we doesn't need to wait for anything or for a sign.
What's the connection between Bitcoin and tree?
I mean it isn't a bad thing, but if people really want to do it they would do it without waiting for anything.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 12, 2024, 10:10:00 PM
Yes, for me it isn't done or final until we stop and take it out of the gambling site, no matter how much we gain if we aren't stopping or withdrawing it then we couldn't say that we won since, there is still a chance that we would continue to gamble and lose it all.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the benefits of accepting Bitcoin as a method of payment. on: June 12, 2024, 08:28:11 PM
For me accepting crypto as a payment method has its advantages and disadvantage.
Some might see it as expensive due to the transaction fee, and also they would need to wait till it has been confirmed.
We should also consider the price, we all know that crypto is volatile so the price could move up or down which could give the receiver more profit or lose in their business.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: $120,000 Bitcoin is going to happened? on: June 12, 2024, 05:31:22 PM
It could happen the question is when would it happen?
If we would base it on the previous record we could say that the price would only go up, it is only a matter of time before it hits 6 digit.
And most of us are anticipating it, might happen this year since we still have more than 6 months before this year ends.
I think most of us are or was expecting it to reach 6 digit before or after the previous halving that occurred on April.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading or gambling? on: June 12, 2024, 04:53:11 PM
Gambling is for entertainment while trading is for profit, that is how I see it, also it is easier to control or manage the risk in trading.
But if you would invest or trade without knowledge on what you are doing or buying, then it is similar to gambling you are just depending on luck, and they are just jumping in cause of any reason like they heard or read from signal group or celebrities.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Should there be a limit to investing in your children? on: June 07, 2024, 08:25:21 PM
There is a current trend in my country where parents are doing everything financially possible to give their children the best education. Some parents have gone to the extent of selling properties or taking loans to send their children to some of the best schools in and outside the country. I have spoken with some of them, and the reason they give is that this child will get good jobs and take care of them in the future.

I had to bring up this issue because most of them are becoming disappointed and depressed. In my location, children are seen as an investment because they have the responsibility to take care of their parents when they are retired, old, or unemployed. So parents will want to invest high in education because they think it will bring high returns. Many of these students who attended prestigious schools end up becoming unemployed and are still depending on their parents to survive. I also assume that many of them regret going the extra mile to give their children the best. They have lost money and are also in debt but their children are still dependants.

Do you think parents should have a limit on the amount they can invest in their children?
This sounds like a retirement plan investment, they are investing to secure their future by letting all the future responsibilities be shouldered by their childer.
Actually it isn't something new to me and it is happening also in my country, parents are expecting that their children would take care of all their bills, needs or any expenses ones they are earning, this would result to their children being suffocated.
For me there is nothing wrong with investing in your child/ childrens future, just don't use it against them when they grew up, most of the parents that I know are always stating or using it against their child when they couldn't provide enough money for their parents.
We should remember that it is our responsibility as a parent to give them a better future so we shouldn't use it against them.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Avoid using public wifi for private activities on: June 07, 2024, 07:44:42 PM
I always avoid connecting to public wifi or any wifi that I don't personally know the owner.
It is always better to be safe than sorry, specially if you are using your phone for any transaction or it have any access to your private accounts.
