1681  Economy / Reputation / Re: David Latapie's reputation thread on: August 02, 2014, 01:43:05 AM
David and I have interacted for some time now on and off of BCT. He's been very honest and usually helpful. The few times he wasn't was because neither of us knew the answer Cheesy

Most importantly from a trust standpoint, things said to him in private have remained so until I said otherwise. I have not had monetary interactions with David, but having come to know him, I would be quite willing to do so. He's also a good man to seek advice from, because he thinks about his responses.

I've been reading up on the novacoin code (which TEK incorporates) and looking at the numbers. I suspect it's not actually stuck, but has hit a really high difficulty due to a lot of staking. The coin has ramped up production significantly (as it's design would suggest) and I suspect that the code has responded accordingly. Give it a couple more days before panicking. Then don't panic anyway, because it's a useless emotion.

I think it's just a tough nut to crack this time. I'm gaining weight much more slowly than the last time, and I've never seen it stake with a weight lower than 300. I'm almost there Cheesy

I'll let everyone know if/when it stakes.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | Proof of Stake | 750% Annual | Coin-Swap & AllCoin on: August 01, 2014, 03:35:58 AM
I'm not sure this is a problem, as staking coins do this, but I've generated 4 orphans in a row today.  It's on a fairly small amount (200 coins). Anyone else running into this?

The network has been pretty competitive today, lots of blocks competing to stake. The more blocks competing, the more likely that your wallet will solve the kernel, thus generating a block, but unfortunately another wallet barely beat you to it and it comes out as an orphan.  I haven't had any myself today.  Make sure to use the new repair wallet button to get rid of the orphans.

Forgot about that feature. Done it, cleared all of 'em instantly. That's a nice button!

I figured it was probably just the nature of things. Just keeping you apprised.

Thats the beauty of PoS, although orphans are a bit annoying, they aren't a loss and your wallet will continue trying.

To be honest, for pure enjoyment I prefer mining. But this is more efficient and better for the bottom line.

SYNC Multipool Update

Tonights payout is delayed, we are investigating some weird submitted shares in the last shift. Payout is postponed till tomorrow.

Thanks for your understading!

PS, we have been buying around 0.83-1.01 BTC/SYNC last Shift!
Depending on what kind of weird, that may have been me. I was trying to set up a new miner, and it kept saying "pool is hiding blocks from us" in bfg. several times over the course of maybe an hour. PM me if you want details.

Just received my Zeusminer Blizzard yesterday. Once again, Zoomhash got it here faster than the postal service's website could acknowledge Cheesy The machine is ok. Gridseed was easier to get working, but it does perform as advertised without tweaking. I will be tweaking Cheesy

I continue to be a very satisfied customer.

In regards to staking, I had a 4 orphans the first day I began staking, then 1 orphan yesterday afternoon. Nothing since then.

I got one on day three right now myself. I think it's just more people staking. Can't pull the stats right now, on the wrong computer..

1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHA]SHACoin - 2.0.0.0 - Returned from the Dead on: July 31, 2014, 06:19:45 PM
I will have something for you to look over by monday, based off of my understanding. I'll PM it to you, you tell me what's wrong with it, and I'll fix it. You can use it how you will. I'm invested in this coin, so I'm not after bounties or anything like that, I just want to boost it's value.

Some thought on securing the blockchain.

One. It's a pure POS coin, so 51% is just about not an issue.

Two, anything, even cosmetic, that raises it's exchange value will attract more investors. But as you noted they are likely to trade it for BTC almost immediately.  Like all cryptocurrencies, real world adoption is the holy grail, and most don't even realize it.

So I think you're on to something. We just need to flesh it out and see where it goes and what can be done.

thx. I will wait for you.

I have to say that we must not attract too much attentiaon before we distribute our coins.
it is lawful because we are not currency and worthless.
there are many limit to send physical items.
I thought btc cannot do this now because too famous,
if they now entering this area, is the same as suicide.
government will stop it as soon as possible.  then you will need pay lots more to get these coins.

sorry I have not got this done yet. I got very sick (strep throat) and today is the first day I feel half way human since starting the antibiotics. I haven't forgotten nor walked away. Probably have it done today, possibly tomorrow. I'm still not feeling great, and paid work is getting first priority.
1692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why a Chinese eBay Power Seller Quit Paypal and Start accepting Bitcoin on: July 31, 2014, 04:50:46 PM
FTFY. I've no issue with the Chinese. Or any other "race".
It's not about the race. It's about the country in which the seller is located. I think the trouble is the Chicom. I wouldn't trust Russia either.

Noted.

I don't really trust anyone I don't know, so I guess you're more liberal on that than I am Cheesy

That being said, I've been screwed more often by American companies than by Asian or Russian companies, and I am American by birth. Our so called consumer protection laws are not as good as they look on paper, unless you are wealthy or well connected.
1693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why a Chinese eBay Power Seller Quit Paypal and Start accepting Bitcoin on: July 31, 2014, 02:38:53 PM
I wouldn't trust a Chinese eBay Seller Smiley)

FTFY. I've no issue with the Chinese. Or any other "race". I am of the opinion that all races are equally worthless. I've seen more scams than not on ebay, and as often as not the scammer was ebay itself.

@ Sovie. You appear to take things way too seriously.
@minermario. I think you have some legitiimate concerns, but I think your conclusions are a bit over the top.

My investment is small. I have no nerves in the game, only time. Over the last few weeks I've seen the coin go steadily up. I'm holding, and I'm mining at the multipool. Have done well with both. I frankly don't care who's at the wheel of the large ship, because my boat is in order.

You said that there are 1000 coins right? How come Coin Market Cap says 1109 coins? http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/sync/

It's based on peercoin code. There's no theoretical max, unless nite69 has changed it.  But being pure POS and a very low target interest rate, it will take decades to be very inflated.

Sync dev is now Trust Verified by www.Coinssource.com!

Score is 6/7 - will be 7/7 when we verify address via snail mail.

https://twitter.com/CoinsSource/status/494222211125751808

Spread the verified love around to haters everywhere.

And buy that Sync while it's cheap.

Good, all that's needed in crypto, another fan boy. Trust Verified? So no tantrums, nevous breakdowns or anything like that, right? That's why he/she is quite public about who he/she is, right?

lololol

He is public asswipe.

Who is "public" fan boy, MsCollec or the in-waiting replacement, Nite69. It doesn't matter to you really, does it?

Head of the Foundation which is the important part of Sync.

"The important part of SYNC"... why exactly is that "the important" part of SYNC? Do not bother to answer, fan boy, you have ridiculed yourself enough as it is.

That this coin hasn't been halved already is an anomaly that will be corrected very soon. And halved again shortly thereafter too.
Whatever you say, useless anonymous poster. Love, Fanboy

You represent the foundation. BE MORE CIRCUMSPECT. Trolls will always have the upper hand if you let them get under your skin.

Is it proof that mscolleg and nite69 are not one and the same person?

I've spoken to both of them in chat simultaneously, so unless they have four hands, I'm satisfied.

Dumpwallet as a backup, or is it just to be used in case of a corrupted wallet?

I'd do both. Dumpwallet makes a human readable version of wallet.dat, so you could backup your wallet on paper if you so desired.
